Woman gives birth to child who is only a year younger than she is

Tina Wren gave birth to a daughter named Emma last month. The mother was twenty-five years old at the time. Her daughter was twenty-four. How is this possible?

Tina and her husband Benjamin married seven years ago, but the couple assumed they could not have biological children because Benjamin has cystic fibrosis, which often results in infertility. They fostered a few children, until Tina’s father suggested embryo adoption.

This is the process by which couples who use in vitro fertilization (IVF) donate unused frozen embryos to other couples. The Wrens went to the National Embryo Donation Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, where they received a donated embryo. It turns out, that embryo had been created through IVF and frozen twenty-four years earlier.

Tina gave birth to the baby she received. She told reporters, “This embryo and I could have been best friends.” As it is, they are now mother and daughter.

If Tina and Benjamin had another way to become pregnant, it seems likely that they would not have chosen this route. But they know that their new daughter is indeed a miracle.

Responding to “unexpected opportunities”

Many of the choices we make aren’t really choices. If we have only one option, it becomes the best option.

For instance, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will begin making lethal viruses. Dr. Francis Collins, director of the NIH, explained that such research is necessary to “develop strategies and effective countermeasures against rapidly evolving pathogens that pose a threat to public health.” Research involving the influenza virus, severe acute respiratory syndrome (known as SARS), and Middle East respiratory syndrome (or MERS) will now proceed.

The NIH would rather not develop these dangerous pathogens, since they could threaten millions of lives if they are not stored properly or escape from a lab. But the only way to create a cure for such diseases is to understand them, and scientists cannot understand them…

Priest tells church he’s gay, slams ‘toxic shaming’

Rev Gregory Greiten was praised after making the personal omission at St Bernadette church in the US city of Milwaukee.

He also accused the Catholic Church of pretending gay priests “don’t exist”, while saying young people need celibate gay priests who can act as “authentic role models”.

Writing in the National Catholic Reporter to coincide with his announcement, Rev Greiten explained: “By choosing to enforce silence, the institutional church pretends that gay priests and religious do not really exist.

“Because of this, there are no authentic role models of healthy, well-balanced, gay, celibate priests to be an example for those, young and old, who are struggling to come to terms with their sexual orientation.

“This only perpetuates the toxic shaming and systemic secrecy.”

Rev Greiten, who acknowledge his sexuality at the age of 24, said only a “few courageous priests” have acknowledged a same-sex attraction and have “chosen to live in truth and authenticity”.

The Catholic Archbishop of Milwaukee, Jerome Listecki was quoted by the USA Today Network as saying: “We support Father Greiten in his own, personal journey and telling his story of coming to understand and live with his sexual orientation.

“As the Church teaches, those with same-sex attraction must be treated with understanding and compassion.

“Greg’s own story reminds each of us of God’s call to continue to grow in understanding and to live holy, chaste…

Hollywood persecutes me for believing in Jesus

The American actor said he has also encountered “persecution” within the entertainment industry for being an outspoken supporter of US President Donald Trump.

The 51 year old told the Hollywood Reporter: “Who have I been persecuted more for, Trump or Jesus? The answer is of course Jesus but President Trump is a not too far behind… very close second.”

Stephen, who is an evangelist and the youngest of four actor brothers, said his reputation as “the Jesus freak of Hollywood sometimes bothers him.

But he added his belief that humour was “invented by Jesus” helped him see the light side of the resistance he has faced for his beliefs.

Mr Baldwin added: “It’s unfortunate that, because I have believed in Jesus for 15 years, there are many in Hollywood who are unwilling to work with me.

“That’s not a guess; casting people and producers have told me that they’ve brought up my name in a room and the response was, ‘No way – we’re not bringing that guy and his Bible over here.'”

Bitcoin Falling In Price, Is The Bubble About To Burst?

REUTERS/Mark BlinchA Bitcoin sign is seen in a window in Toronto, May 8, 2014.

Bitcoin has made massive gains over the past few months with its price reaching a peak of $19,026.21 earlier this week. However, the digital currency is experiencing a massive price slump in recent days, shaving off a massive chunk off its value. This prompted some observers to claim that it has reached its zenith and will soon correct its value, as many bubbles have done in the past.

According to Eric Shiffer, the currency’s inflated price is the “bloodiest financial danger of the 21st century.” The veteran entrepreneur and CEO of Patriarch Equity told Express that Bitcoin is the “tower of death” that will result in the imminent demise of people’s investment which he likened to death by thermonuclear explosion.

“Right now we are looking at a financial bubble that is bigger than the tulip craze and I believe that we are headed for a bitcoin crash that will supersede any financial worries of the 21st century,” said Shiffer. “People are going to be shocked when they try to liquify their bitcoins.”

Independent research analyst Ronnie Moas echoed Mr. Shiffer’s concerns saying that its inherent volatility threatens to depose it from its leading position in the crypto markets. According to Moas, as the confidence in the digital currency is shared, a panic could sweep through investors leading to bitcoin’s collapse.

“A lot of people are sitting on millions of dollars in profits right now and the minute they think this is going to crack, they are all going to sell at the same time,” he said.

But while analysts and…

Joyce Meyer’s Daily 21 December 2017 Devotional: Be Decisive!

Joyce Meyer's Daily 21 December 2017 Devotional: Be Decisive!

Topic: Be Decisive! [Thursday December 21, 2017]

But above all [things], my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath; but let your yes be [a simple] yes, and your no be [a simple] no, so that you may not sin and fall under condemnation. — James 5:12

Indecision is a miserable state to be in and certainly is not a fruit of the simple life. The apostle James said the double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Being indecisive because you’re afraid you’ll make wrong decisions will get you nowhere. How much time do you think we waste when we can’t make up our minds?

We often labor over the choices before us when we just need to make a decision and let it stand. This may be a simple example, but think about it: When you stand in front of your closet in the morning looking at all your clothes, just choose something and put it on. Don’t go back and forth until you make yourself late for work!

Let me encourage you to start making decisions without second-guessing yourself or worrying about the choices you make. Don’t be double-minded or wishy-washy because doubting your decisions after you make them will steal the enjoyment from everything you do. Make the best decisions you can and trust God with the results.

Prayer Starter: Holy Spirit, thank You for showing me that indecision doesn’t really get me anywhere. Help me to let my “yes” be “yes,” and my “no” be “no.” I know I can’t go wrong when I make decisions the best I can and simply trust You with the results.

Our Daily Manna December 21, 2017: ODM devotional: When He Is Physically Absent……….

Topic: When He Is Physically Absent………. [Thursday, December 21, 2017]

“If you believe the doctors, nothing is wholesome; if you believe theologians, nothing is innocent; if you believe the military, nothing is safe.” So no matter what you are going through or you will be allowed to go through this year, believe the Word.

Basic Scriptures: John 1:1; Matthew 8:1-10

Today’s 2nd Scripture Vs. 8 says: “The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, my servant shall be healed.” What the man was telling the Lord was: “You do not need to be there physically for the supernatural to manifest.” He knew what millions don’t even know today:

The Bible You Are Carrying Is The Spoken Word Of God. He Spoke To Men Who Wrote It Down. The Word Of God Is God Himself And You Do Not Need The Lord Jesus Christ To Be Physically Present For Your Laughter And EVIDENCE To Manifest. You May Not See The Lord Physically Everyday But Do You Know That The Word Of God Is Higher Than The Name Of God (Ps. 138:2)? Yes, You Were Born When He Was Physically Here, But Every Minute You Spend In The Word Today Is A Minute Spent In The Secret Place Of The Most High.

So the CENTURION was used by God to make that statement because of our generation who will not see the Lord Jesus physically for now. The Word is equal to God! Pick a promise that relates to your area of battle, then meditate on it, and declare/pray it. To get maximum results from the promises in this booklet, read/meditate on one scripture for at least 20 times this year.

Hear Lord Salisbury, British Prime Minister (1830-1903): “If you believe the doctors, nothing is wholesome; if you believe theologians, nothing is innocent; if you believe the military, nothing is safe.” So no matter what you are going through or you will be allowed to go through this year, believe the Word. It is as powerful as God himself. Refuse to be lazy! Spend time with THE WORD and your EVIDENCE will be discussed all over your city. Amen!

“WAR AGAINST HAMAN -13’ BOOKLET! The “War Against Haman -13” booklet contains the 2018 January 21-day fasting prayers! Your SPECIAL DECORATION secrets are hidden there! Get your copy now!

Prayer Points: Take Song 2: I need thee………

1. Thank God for today’s word and pray as you are led!

2. You cannot “see” God physically! Ask for the grace to stay with His Word. Repent from procrastination/laziness.

3. Lord, take away roadblocks set to slow down my speed in life and ministry in Jesus Christ name. Pray it seriously.

4. UPROOT LAZINESS in the WORD seriously now!

5. Father, in the remaining 10 DAYS of this year, do something in my life that will be an EVIDENCE of your power to my generation in Jesus Christ name (Pray it well).

6. Pray any other prayer points as led now.

Nine Essential Qualities Found in Replant Leaders – Revitalize & Replant #020

SUBSCRIBE TODAY: iTunes • RSS • Stitcher • TuneIn Radio • Google Play

Raising up leaders in a replant situation is important. Today we highlight nine characteristics to look for in potential replant leaders.

Today’s Listener Question:

FROM MARCO

As I have begun to develop leaders, what character qualities should you look for in potential leaders that are not only walking alongside of you in a replant but previous to replanting this church, have seen hurt and pain in the church? How can you help to develop confidence as we move forward?

Episode Highlights:

  • When you are replanting a church, you don’t need a pipeline as much as you need a lifeline.
  • Church leaders should have a love for the church—even in all its disfunction.
  • Church leaders shouldn’t only want to lead people, but shepherd them as well.
  • “Church members will follow your leadership to the degree they trust your shepherding.”
  • The more that someone is praying, the less they are likely to be critical.
  • The bar for how we should love is how Christ loved the Church.

The nine characteristics you should look for in leaders are:

  1. Emotional intelligence
  2. Deep love for the church
  3. A shepherd’s heart
  4. Committed to prayer
  5. Able to keep confidence
  6. Supporting spouse
  7. Able to teach
  8. Exemplary lifestyle
  9. Prioritizes family
