Angels Were Not Wrong in Saying Jesus Will Bring Peace, Despite Today’s Chaotic World

(Photo: Reuters)Evangelist Billy Graham speaks during the final day of his Crusade at Flushing Meadows Park in New York June 26, 2005. Graham, 86, has preached the Gospel to more people in a live audience format than anyone in history — over 210 million people in more than 185 countries. His followers believe that the New York Crusade which runs from June 24 to 26 will be his last live appearance.

Evangelist Billy Graham has said that despite the state of the chaotic world 2,000 years after the birth of Jesus Christ, the angels were not wrong to say that He would bring peace.

Graham answered a reader’s question on his website Tuesday regarding the promise of peace angels gave the shepherds as found in the Gospel of Luke on the first Christmas night outside Bethlehem, by declaring that their message still rings true across the ages.

The passage in Luke 2:14 reads: “Glory to God in the highest Heaven, and on Earth peace to those on whom His favor rests.”

The world famous North Carolina preacher said that the message is true, “because when we commit our lives to Jesus Christ and become His followers, He gives us peace — peace with God, and peace in our souls.”

“You see, by nature we are at war, not only with each other, but with God — and even with ourselves. The Bible…

Former Jewish Woman Shares How an Angel Led Her to Christ

Former Jewish Woman Shares How an Angel Led Her to Christ

A Jewish woman has given her life to Christ after having an encounter with an angel. She recently shared her story with CBN News.

Author of Autumn Whisper Alyse Merritt shares her experience of growing up Jewish:

“All I knew was that Jesus was the false God of the gentiles because that’s kind of what was beaten into our heads since we were very young,” Merritt told CBN News. “I thought actually that he was Catholic or Italian because of everything I’d been told and seen on T.V.”

“It wasn’t until college that I had a supernatural encounter,” she continued.

In college, Merritt got a job at a frozen yogurt place. That was when she met a man who told her the Gospel.

“A man who was literally about seven feet tall with piercing blue eyes one day came in. He had a white Bible that was huge. It was about the size of a family Bible and he started telling me the gospel from this Bible and that Jesus was actually Jewish,” she shared. “For the first time in my life I was told that Jesus was a Jewish savior and that he was my Messiah.”

She says she would see this man in random places as she was about town, and over some months, she chose to put her faith in Jesus due to his message.

She wanted to tell this man who had witnessed to her that she had accepted Christ, but when she tried to contact him or find him, he was nowhere to be found. It was as though he never existed.

BBC pledges to have more of God in programming

After conducting a review of its faith based programming, the network said it wants to raise its game across all religious output, reach as many people as possible and portray the diversity of beliefs and society.

BBC presenter Roger Bolton who was consulted as part of this review told Premier it’s a step in the right direction.

“If you have everyone paying for the license fee, then you have the responsibility to everybody no matter what their faith background is,” he said.

“On the other hand, the majority of people of faith in this country are Christian so I would always expect Christianity to have a predominant position.”

The review found that audiences of all faiths and none want to learn more about religion and ethics.

“They recognise that, if we truly want to make sense of the world, we need to understand the systems of belief that underpin it,” Director general Tony Hall said.

The BBC pledged to not let Christian programming suffer under the move to give other faiths greater coverage.

However, Bolton questioned whether the network would be able to get the job done.

“It’s a good policy but the question is how is it going to implemented, is the BBC fit for purpose?

“I think you’re dealing with fundamentally secular journalists who need continued education, they need experts within the organisation that they can turn to.

“If there was particular controversy in a branch of Islam or Christianity who wold they turn to? There’s no head of religion.”

Over 200,000 Security Personnel Will Guard Egyptian Christmas Services from Attack

Over 200,000 Security Personnel Will Guard Egyptian Christmas Services from Attack

Some 230,000 security personnel will guard Christmas celebrations in Egypt next week after a string of church and mosque bombings in the country.

“Holidays and vacations were canceled for security personnel and officers at all security directorates across the country,” security sources told Middle East News Agency.

“Security forces are also planned to intensify proactive hits against terrorist organizations, as well as tightening security measures at border crossings between North Sinai and other governorates, to prevent any infiltration from terrorist elements into the cities,” sources told MENA.

Security officers and employees will be stationed to the 2,626 churches in Egypt. Authorities are also monitoring public parks and tourist sites.

Churches are beefing up security with CCTV and metal detector systems after an uptick in terror attacks at Egyptian churches.

Last December, police said 29 people were killed during a suicide bombing in Cairo’s St. Peter and St. Paul Church.

In April, on Palm Sunday, 47 people were killed in twin bombings at the St. George Cathedral in Tanta and St. Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria.

Then in November, the Islamic State terror group claimed responsibility for an attack on a mosque in Bir Al-Abed where more than 300 Muslims were killed.

The attacks started after Islamist President Mohamed Morsi was ousted by…

Christian Indians ‘afraid of Christmas’

Its worries came after the arrest of 32 young Catholic priests who recently charged with forcibly trying to convert others to Christianity.

The young men were going from door to door in a rural village central Madhya Pradesh region singing Christmas carols, when the police detained them.

When other priests came to inquire about the allegations, a mob approached and torched their car in front of the police station.

AC Michael, the national coordinator of the United Christian Forum, an Indian advocacy group working alongside with ADF International said they are “afraid of Christmas this year”.

“We anticipate more anti-Christian violence and harassment,” he said.

Jennifer Lea with ADF told Premier why persecution has gotten worse in India.

She said: “The main religion is Hinduism. Currently the BJP party in power has stated a goal to make the country 100 per cent Hindu, out of that there’s a systematic plan to eradicate Christianity.

“They’re going into villages and chasing out pastors.”

Allied lawyers of ADF International are reviewing this recent case.

While the seminarians were acquitted and released after interventions at the governmental level, one priest is still facing prosecution for “forcible conversion.”

According to the charity he stands accused of paying 5,000 Rupees (approximately 66 Euros) to a Hindu to convert to Christianity and then allegedly baptizing the convert in a pool.

ADF stated: “The evidentiary inconsistency is hard to miss: while baptism…

Church of England Appoints First Female Bishop of London

(PHOTO: WIKIMEDIA COMMONS/HANS MUSIL)The Canterbury Cathedral is the seat of the Cathedral of the Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury, the Primate of All England and religious leader of the Church of England.

The Church of England has announced that London will have its first-ever female bishop, the latest milestone for ordained women in the Protestant denomination.

In an announcement released Monday, the church announced that the Right Reverend Sarah Mullally will become the next Bishop of London, with her installation ceremony taking place next year.

In a message posted to the Church of England’s website on Monday, Mullally explained that she believes “there is a huge hunger for spirituality and new ways for the Church to meet that hunger.”

“The Church of England wants to be a Christian presence in every community – confident in prayer; speaking about and living out its faith; working creatively with the people around,” wrote Mullally.

“I made a commitment to follow Jesus Christ as a teenager. As one hymn puts it, I found in him my Star, my Sun. I look forward to sharing that good news with others as I come to London.”

The Church of England noted that Mullally has a professional background in nursing and is presently serving as bishop of Crediton.

Bath Abbey can remove pews

In 2015, the historic church received a £1.5m donation and Heritage Lottery Fund money for a restoration project which included creating eco-friendly under-floor heating and repairing the collapsing floor.

Included in these plans was the controversial move to get rid of the pews to make it a more flexible space.

After nearly 10 years of planning, the Chancellor of the Diocese of Bath and Wells has granted them permission.

In a statement on the church website, Rev Edward Mason of Bath Abbey said: “We are delighted with the decision of the Consistory Court.

“We strongly believe in the benefits of removing the pews.

“It will enable us to open up the Abbey’s nave and side aisles to all and make it possible for people of different physical ability to sit where they choose.

“Stackable chairs mean that the nave can be used for a wide variety of traditional and contemporary worship and restore the Abbey to the community use for which it was first designed.”

The Victorian Society opposed the desire to remove the pews because of the “detrimental effect on the architectural and historical significance of this important religious building”, according to their online petition.
