The Prince of Wales issued the stark warning after meeting Christian children forced from their homes by the recent bloody conflict to grip Iraq and Syria.

 

His Royal Highness said: “It is heart-breaking beyond words to see just how much pain and suffering is being endured by Christians in this day, simply because of their faith.

“As Christians we remember of course how our Lord called upon us to love our enemies and to pray for those who persecute, but for those confronted with such hatred and oppression I can only begin to imagine how incredibly hard it must be to follow Christ’s example.”

 

More than 700,000 Christians have left Syria during a conflict which is now into its sixth year, while the major city of Aleppo has shed 75 per cent of its Christian population – only 35,000 remain.

Prince Charles attended a prayer service in central London on Tuesday at St Barnabas Church Pimlico, an Anglican church which also hosts a Middle Eastern Catholic congregation.

Evangelist Kay Warren, an author and co-founder of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, has said that her very conservative upbringing, combined with being molested as a little girl and being exposed to pornographic magazines, led to a good deal of sexual confusion in her youth.

Warren, who is promoting her book, Sacred Privilege, opened up in an interview with Christian Today about some of the dark experiences she had growing up.

“I was molested as a little girl. I can’t hide behind that and I am the one that has to take responsibility,” said Warren, who joined the #MeToo conversation in October, when many other Christian women shared their stories of sexual assault and abuse on social media.

She said that she learned resilience, however, and the ability to “hold on in the harder times,” as it “allows me to be a much more effective minister for Christ when I am spiritually healthy. Ministry is hard and if we are going to last we have to look in the mirror and take responsibility for growing close to Jesus.”

Warren, who is the wife of megachurch pastor Rick Warren, talked about growing up with “very conservative” parents.

Christian book publisher forced to pay up after ‘shocking’ handling of redundancies

According to The Bookseller, more than two thirds the company’s staff were fired on 30th January 2017 and were not consulted properly before they were let go.

One former staff member told the Bookseller the dismissals were a total “shock” and happened without warning.

“I was asked how I might reduce headcount cost by 20 per cent and outline how my team might work. In the end, rather than lose one of my team, only one was retained. It was a shock. And it was not nicely handled at all.

“Given its ethos as a Christian company, it was particularly shocking how it was handled. It was a worrying few months.”

After the Oxford-based publisher was sold in August, it reformed as a separate company Lion Hudson Limited and kept 15 employees.

As a result of 30 staff members taking the company to a tribunal in Reading, the workers were awarded 90-days pay due to the publisher’s “non-compliance” with the law.

US Vetoes UN Resolution against Recognizing Jerusalem as Capital of Israel


Recently, President Trump caused controversy with his bold announcement that the U.S. would recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Following that announcement, the United Nations Security Council took steps to overturn the President’s decision, forcing the U.S. to exercise its veto power.


According to .News.com, 14 countries opposed Trump’s decision and were in support of a resolution that would have reversed it. Nikki Haley, the U.S. Ambassador to the UN, was forced to use the U.S.’s veto power in support of Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem.


The UN resolution, which was even supported by close U.S. ally the United Kingdom, read that “all states comply with Security Council resolutions regarding the Holy City of Jerusalem, and not to recognize any actions or measures contrary to those resolutions.”  


Haley told the Council that the U.S. has the right as a sovereign nation to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and to move its embassy there.


Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the U.S.’s decision, and stated, “One defeated the many, truth defeated lies.”


CBN News Middle East Bureau Chief Chris Mitchell added his commentary to the U.S.’s actions:

Christian footballer Kaka hangs up his boots and thanks God for the journey

Sharing a prayer on Twitter, he thanked God for a career which was “more than I could ever imagined” and said he was ready for the next journey.

 

In his 17 year stint playing football he starred in some of the best teams in the world including Real Madrid, AC Milan and Sao Paolo.

He also represented his country on 92 occasions and won the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

Kaka has been open about his Christian faith throughout his career. He was known for wearing a t-shirt stating “I belong to Jesus” under his team’s jersey and for pointing to God after scoring a goal.

In an interview with the Christian charity Athletes in Action, he once said: “It may seem that I have everything.

“Due to my wealth and fame, some people ask why or if I still need Jesus.

“The answer is simple: I need Jesus every day of my life. His Word, the Bible, tells me that without Him, I can’t do anything. I really believe that. The ability I have to play football and all that has resulted from it are gifts from God. He has given me a talent to use for Him, and I try to improve on it every day.”

The 35-year-old has most recently been playing in the US for MLS team Orlando City.

A prominent internet safety activist is urging parents to keep the pressure on Teen Vogue as its latest issue pushes obscenity even further despite the backlash it received over its anal sex instruction guide that was published earlier this year.

A movement to protect children from dangers in the digital world is underway with major figures like Pope Francis behind such efforts.

On Dec. 8, Teen Vogue magazine published a piece titled “Vibrator Pulsates to the Beat of Christmas Music” under the banner of “Sexual Health + Identity” promoting a vibrator that allows users to download through a phone app vibration patterns that buzz to the tune of holiday songs for sexual stimulation.

“With the vibrator’s six motors, you’ll really feel the ringing of the ‘Carol of the Bells,'” the article reads.

“While you can download and try the Christmas patterns this holiday season, you can easily swap them out for another pattern once the Christmas spirit wears off. But who knows, you might find that ‘Jingle Bells’ really does it for you.”

In August the magazine published an article encouraging its young audience to put condoms, sex toys and lubricants on their back-to-school lists.

These more recent articles have been in spite of the backlash the magazine received from thousands of people over a July 7 article giving pre-teens and teenagers instructions on how to have anal sex.

Pennsylvania Gov. Vetoes 20-Week Abortion Ban


As many pro-life advocates feared, Pennsylvania’s pro-abortion governor has vetoed a bill that would have banned abortions after 20 weeks.


As ChristianHeadlines.com previously reported, the bill had bipartisan support, but Gov. Tom Wolf had vowed to veto it.


After vetoing the measure, Wolf called it a “vile assault on women’s ability to make their own decisions about their own health care,” reports The Hill.


Those who were in favor of the bill banning abortions after 20 weeks argue that new research has shown that unborn babies can feel pain at 20 weeks gestation. Several other states have already adopted 20-week abortion bans, often known as “pain-capable unborn child” bills.


Pennsylvania Republicans accused Wolf of being a “puppet” of Planned Parenthood. Wolf reportedly has ties to Planned Parenthood and has even appointed one of the organization’s board members as his chief of staff.


“Tom Wolf is a puppet of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s number one provider of abortions, and is going to gladly accept their special-interest money for more political favors,” said Greg Manz, a spokesman for the Pennsylvania Republican Party.


The Hill reports that the House has passed a similar 20-week abortion ban bill on the federal level, but the bill is not expected to pass in the Senate.
