Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily December 15, 2017 Devotional: A Carefree Christmas

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily December 15, 2017 Devotional: A Carefree Christmas

Topic: A Carefree Christmas [Friday December 15, 2017]

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. – Philippians 4:6

Can you really have a merry Christmas even when you have a thousand and one pressures bearing down on you? Yes, you can—and you don’t have to leave the country to do it. No matter how intense or how trivial the problems are that you’re facing right now, you can have the most wonderful, most carefree Christmas season you’ve ever had in your life; and you can start having it today.

As a believer, you’re probably familiar with that scripture that says to be anxious for nothing. But, have you ever taken it seriously enough to put it into action? There’s a good chance you haven’t because you haven’t understood just how dangerous those anxieties are. You probably haven’t realized that they’re a deadly part of the devil’s strategy against you.

That’s right. Worry is one of the chief weapons of his warfare. If he can get you to worry about them, he can use the financial pressures and family pressures and scheduling problems that are just a “normal” part of everyday life to weigh you down and drag you into more trouble than you think possible.

Medical science tells us that a high percentage of the people hospitalized in the U.S.A. are there with ailments caused by worry and tension. Yet, a great many believers worry without even thinking about it. They’ll worry about being too short or too skinny. They’ll stew over this and that and not even realize they’ve been sinning.

“Sinning, Brother Copeland?”

Yes! For the born-again, Spirit-filled believer who owns a Bible—worrying is a sin. So, even if the Christmas cards are late and 45 people are coming to your house for Christmas dinner, don’t worry.

Instead, do what the Bible says to do. Pray, making your request known to God…and praise Him for the answer. Then you’ll have peace.

Now, go ahead and have a truly merry Christmas, you carefree thing you!

Andrew Wommack’s Daily 15 December 2017 Devotional: Proof Of The Resurrection

Topic: Proof Of The Resurrection [Friday December 15, 2017]

Matthew 28:11 “Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and showed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.”

In the Jews’ efforts to prevent anything from happening that would cause people to believe that Jesus was resurrected, they gave one of the most sure proofs of His resurrection. They sealed the tomb so it would be obvious if it had been opened and they obtained a guard of soldiers to protect it.

This removes all doubt that the followers of Jesus could have stolen His body. Therefore, the enemies of Jesus became a historical witness that Jesus literally rose from the dead.

The guards told the chief priests everything that happened at the tomb. This means that they had a complete account of the earthquake, the angels rolling away the stone, and the angels giving the message to the women that Jesus was alive from the dead. They may have even seen Jesus walk out of the tomb.

The very ones that the Jews had secured to guarantee there would be no rumors of Jesus being raised from the dead, became the first witnesses and heralds of the resurrection. Yet, with the testimony of impartial, non-religious eyewitnesses, they chose not to believe (Lk. 16:31).

Billy Graham’s Daily 15 December 2017 Devotional: Not Too Young

Billy Graham’s Daily 15 December 2017 Devotional: Not Too Young

Topic: Not Too Young [Friday December 15, 2017]

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers . . . — 1 Timothy 4:12

Lord Chesterton once said, “I believe in bedside repentance, but I do not want to depend upon it.” During a serious illness a person’s mind does not function normally. Getting right with God is something one should do in the bloom of health. However, as far as the Lord is concerned, “His ear is not heavy that He cannot hear, nor His arm shortened that He cannot save.” He loves us equally, in sickness or in health; while we are living, or while we are dying. In my experience, I have not known of too many people who found Christ on their deathbed. When we come to Christ in our youth, a life is saved. When we come in old age, a soul is salvaged and life eternal is assured; but the opportunity to live a life for Christ has been lost.

Prayer for the day: Lord God, burden my heart to reach out to the young persons starting their adventure in life—and the old persons dreading the end of their journey. Let me tell them the message of Your saving love.

Written by Billy Graham, Founder of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association(BGEA). BGEA exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ by every effective means and to equip the church and others to do the same.

A personal request from Jim Denison

God promises that his word “shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11). His Spirit uses his word to save souls and change lives.

As we face unprecedented attacks on biblical morality, people more than ever need biblical truth on the issues that matter. That’s why Denison Forum exists–to take God’s word to today’s culture with news discerned differently.

Democrats Appoint Abortion Lobbyist to Replace Sen. Al Franken

Democrats Appoint Abortion Lobbyist to Replace Sen. Al Franken

Minnesota Democratic Senator Al Franken recently announced that he will be resigning after being accused of sexual harassment. Following Franken’s announcement, Democrats have named Tima Smith, an abortion lobbyist, to replace Franken in the Senate.

According to The Washington Examiner, Smith’s resume includes her time as a lobbyist for Planned Parenthood. She served as the Vice President of Public Affairs for the abortion giant and was a registered lobbyist for the organization.

In that role, Smith reportedly lobbied against parental consent for young women seeking abortions and also argued against waiting periods for abortions.

While Smith worked as a Planned Parenthood lobbyist, the organization led the state in the highest number of abortions performed each day. It remains to be seen whether Smith will bring her extreme pro-abortion views to the Senate.

Franken was forced to resign after several women came forward accusing him of sexual harassment. A picture also recently surfaced that shows Franken grinning while sexually harassing a sleeping woman. The picture and the allegations sparked a public outcry, and Franken ultimately announced his resignation, following the resignation of fellow Congressman John Conyers, who was also accused of sexual harassment.

Allegation of sexual harassment and the fallout from them have held a prominent place in the news for weeks,…

Pastor Chad Veach Says He’s on a Quest for Radical Inclusion, Sharing God’s Grace With Next Generation

(Photo: Press Pass LA)Best-selling author and popular Los Angeles-based Pastor Chad Veach released “Faith Forward Future” November 28, 2017.

Best-selling author and popular millennial Pastor Chad Veach has released his latest book, Faith Forward Future, and hopes to inspire everyone, young people especially, to do all God has destined for them.

“The basis of the book really just comes from the idea that God has a plan for all of our lives,” Veach told The Christian Post. “I was preaching this message in our church and I became further convinced of this idea that God has a plan for all of us.”

Veach hopes to challenge people to look in the Bible at anybody who God used because they, too, had flaws, weaknesses and issues, “and that didn’t change God’s mind about His plan for their life.”

“One weekend I was preaching and said, ‘You gotta have faith to move forward into this future that God has.’ So that’s where the whole idea came from. I just became overwhelmingly encouraged that no matter where you’re from or what you’ve done, God has a plan for your life,” he said. “Everybody that God uses somehow has to overcome their past and the pain of what they’ve done and step into what God has ultimately destined them to.”

The Zoe Church founder in Los Angeles admitted that he is…

Christian charity wins care sector prize

The charity won the Innovative Quality Outcomes Award at the 3rd Sector Care Awards Ceremony held at the London Marriot Hotel Grosvenor Square.

The award was given to Safe Families for their new way of addressing care; bringing volunteers into people’s homes to help support struggling families, to prevent their children being taken into care.

The 3rd Sector Care Award judges commented: “It is a social movement that is innovative, and changes not only practices but also lives.”

Since 2013, Safe Families has improved the lives of more than 4800 children living in the UK.

More than 2000 vulnerable families who are struggling to cope have been supported by the charity’s volunteers.

Keith Danby, Chief Executive at Safe Families for Children told Premier: “It was really just fantastic news, we had been nominated for a number of awards this year but to get to the final and to win it as just incredible.”

He described the process leading up to the victory, saying: “I had to go before a very experienced panel and be interviewed for 30 minute and they asked lots of questions – pretty daunting!

“Well, we were in the final…and they announced that we’d won it.”

Regarding how the charity helps families, Keith Danby explained: “Often we will have known very little about them, other than that we’ve had this referral.

“We go out and meet the family, we link the family with a volunteer and they support the family through whatever challenging times they have.”

Sir Cliff Richard warned financial affairs may be revealed during BBC court case

Mr Justice Mann on Thursday suggested that journalists could argue that detail should not be kept from the public just because the 77-year-old singer wanted to keep his financial affairs secret.

The judge issued the warning at the latest in a series of preliminary hearings at the High Court in London after lawyers representing the Christian entertainer asked him to bar journalists from having access to part of a document which contained personal financial details.

He said the details contained in the document would remain private at this stage of the litigation.

But he said the position may change at a trial.

Sir Cliff is suing the BBC over coverage of a raid at his apartment in Sunningdale, Berkshire, in August 2014.

Lawyers representing the singer say he has suffered ”profound and long-lasting” damage.

BBC editors have said they will ”defend ourselves vigorously”.

A spokesman said the BBC had reported Sir Cliff’s ”full denial of the allegations at every stage”.

Lawyers have told how, in late 2013, a man made an allegation to the Metropolitan Police, saying he had been sexually assaulted by Sir Cliff at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane football stadium, in Sheffield, when a child in 1985.

Metropolitan Police officers passed the allegation to South Yorkshire Police in July 2014.

Sir Cliff denied the allegation and in June 2016 prosecutors announced that he would face no charges.

Mr Justice Mann has overseen a number of preliminary hearings.

Any trial is…
