5-Year-Old Survivor of Texas Church Shooting Asks for Christmas Cards

5-Year-Old Survivor of Texas Church Shooting Asks for Christmas Cards

A 5-Year-Old Texas Shooting Survivor Wants Christmas Cards. Will You Send Him Some?

Let’s help Santa grant this child’s wish this Christmas. Please help his story go viral. And send him some Christmas cheer along the way.

On November 5th, Ryland Ward miraculously survived the Sutherland Springs, Texas church shooting after being shot five times. He’s still recovering in a local area hospital and is expected to remain there for another 6-8 weeks.

He’s asking for Christmas cards to fill his hospital room. He especially likes cards that have pictures of other children or animals and pets in them.

What Ryland doesn’t know yet is that his mother and sisters were killed in the shooting. According to the local news, his grandmother remarked:

They still haven’t told him yet that his mom and sisters are dead, but I’m sure he’s kind of getting some kind of idea because he’s 5.

Ryland faces a long physical recovery ahead of him. Not to mention the shock and grief that will follow when he learns the fate of his family.

His surviving family members are asking Santa’s helpers to help raise money to buy Ryland a go-kart. Perhaps he needs other gifts to cheer him up as well?

Cards and photos can be sent to Ryland here:

Donations to help with Ryland’s hospital bills can be made

Open Heavens 12 December 2017: Tuesday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Standing Faultless Before Christ

Open Heavens 12 December 2017: Tuesday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Standing Faultless Before Christ

Topic: Standing Faultless Before Christ — Tuesday 12, December 2017.

Memorise: Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Luke 21:36

Read: Matthew 26:36-41 (KJV)

36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Bible in One Year: Revelation 1-2, Haggai 1:12-2:9, Hymn: Sing Hymn 12 – How Sweet The Name Of Jesus

MESSAGE:

The Lord in Hosea 4:6 reveals that ignorance is one of the greatest factors that lead to the undoing of believers. What you attain in life may not go beyond what you know. What you know adds to you, but what you fail to know takes away from you. The Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 26:41 says,

“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

From these words of the Master, we understand that there is a link between what you know and how effectively you pray. We also understand that there is a link between what you know and how you overcome temptations. The less you know about God, His ways and His words, the less inner strength you will have to overcome temptations. If you want to live a Christian life that manifests the victory that Christ has given us over Satan, sin, self and the pleasures of the world, you must be well versed in the Scriptures. You must study to show yourself approved before God (2 Timothy 2:15). To what extent do you know God?

“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Luke 21:36

This scripture tells us that although prayer is very important, it is however not enough. If you can pray very well but lack knowledge, many things can still go wrong. From the words of the Master in the scriptures, prayer must be effectively combined with knowledge to be able to escape the dangers of the last days. Do you know the signs of the times? Do you take time to monitor local, national and international events and reconcile these events with what God has said concerning them in His word? If you have knowledge and you are prayerful, certain things that would take the world by surprise cannot catch you off guard. In fact, you will be the one alerting others to the implications of the events happening around you. In addition, it takes a combination of knowledge and prayers to be able to stand as a worthy vessel before the judgment seat of Christ. When you know what the Lord wants of you, how He wants you to do the work he has assigned to you, and the time He has appointed for you to do the work, it will be easy to do it and to stand faultless before His throne at last.

Prayer Point: Father, please do all You need to do in me to present me faultless before Your throne.

Hymn 12: How Sweet The Name Of Jesus

1. How sweet the Name of Jesus sounds
In a believer’s ear!
It soothes his sorrow, heals his wounds,
And drives away his fear.

2. It makes the wounded spirit whole,
And calms the troubled breast;
‘Tis manna to the hungry soul,
And to the weary rest.

3. Jesus, Shepherd, Guardian, Friend,
My Prophet, Priest, and King;
My Lord, my Life, my Way, my End,
Accept the praise I bring.

4. How weak the effort of my heart,
How cold our warmest thought;
But when we see Thee as Thou art,
I’ll praise Thee as we ought.

5. Till then I would Your love proclaim
With every fleeting breath;
And may the music of Your Name
Refresh my soul in death.

Police Investigate Terrorist Attack in NYC Which Injured 3

Police Investigate Terrorist Attack in NYC Which Injured 3

Three people have been injured in what New York City authorities have said was an attempted act of terror.

According to CNN.com, a man wearing a homemade explosive device detonated the device at Port Authority bus terminal near Times Square about 7:20 a.m. EST this morning. Four people, including the suspect, 27-year-old Akayed Ullah, were injured in the attack.

Authorities reportedly have the suspect in custody and say there is no immediate threat to New York City residents, but they are continuing to monitor the situation.

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio issued a statement following the attack:

“At this point in time, all we know of is one individual who, thank God, was unsuccessful in his aims,” said de Blasio.

“There are also no credible and specific threats against New York City at this time. But we will give you more information, of course, as the investigation unfolds,” de Blasio continued. “The first responders, responded brilliantly. Now the mission of the NYPD is to secure all major transit hubs and major sites in this city. So you’ll see expanded NYPD presence today all over the city.”

President Trump has been briefed regarding the incident, according to CBN News.

We thank God that this attack did not result in any loss of life and we pray that God would protect the people of New York City from harm.

Christian teacher takes school to court in ‘transgender’ row

Joshua Sutcliffe has sued an Oxfordshire school and its headmaster in an Employment Tribunal, after accusations of gross misconduct in the situation.

He was suspended and placed in isolation in November for telling students “well done girls” while one of them wanted to be identified as a boy. Sutcliffe has now claimed he had been unfairly dismissed by the school.

According to Christian Legal Centre, which is supporting the teacher, the child had self-declared as “male”, but Sutcliffe, had been given no formal instruction on how he was to refer to the pupil.

The charity said when the pupil became irate Sutcliffe sought to diffuse the situation and apologised. However, an investigation began during which Sutcliffe was prevented from teaching.

The week-long investigation found that Sutcliffe “misgendered” the pupil, “demonstrating discriminatory behaviours” and “contravened the school’s equality policy”. The school recommended dealing with the matter of “misconduct” under its disciplinary policy.

Sutliffe’s claim of discrimination also stems from his Bible club at the school being shut down 18 months after it began.

Christian Legal Centre said the club was attended by over 100 pupils in its time, but the head teacher told him that it could not run without a register and a curriculum.

The charity claimed when Sutcliffe produced the required documents, the head still insisted on cancelling the club, whilst at the…
