Topic: The Weapon Called Wisdom [Wednesday November 22, 2017]

Scripture: Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Proverbs 4:7

Thought For The Day: Battles are fought with weapons but they are won with wisdom.

Divine wisdom means Divine strategy, idea or creativity. According to our anchor Scripture, wisdom is a principal thing. Wisdom is a major necessity of life.

Many people are suffering today not because the devil is very powerful but because of bankruptcy of wisdom.

The truth is that wisdom is a major weapon for winning the battles of life. It is true that battles are fought with weapons, but the fact is, battles are actually won with wisdom. You may use weapons to fight but you need wisdom to win.
This is why an army of sheep, commanded by a lion will win a troop of lions commanded by a sheep.

Wisdom is the cure for tussles in life; strategy is the therapy for struggles in life. Strategy is superior to energy.

Wisdom is key to stardom. People flourish with wisdom and perish without wisdom. Foolishness is the mother of wasted-ness on earth.

The knowledge of what to do is the avoidance of calamity. When you know what to do, you can avoid certain havocs or tragedies of life.

Today, I destroy every trace of foolishness around your life. I prophesy to you: Divine wisdom is coming upon you. That wisdom that will avert every disaster around your life is released upon you in Jesus’ Name.

Remember This: Battles are fought with weapons but they are won with wisdom.

Assignment(S):

1. Make up your mind to exist and walk in Divine wisdom.

2. Apart from your daily Bible reading schedule, endeavour to read at least a chapter of the book of Proverbs daily for the impartation of wisdom

Prayer: O LORD, disconnect me from every trace of foolishness. I receive the impartation of Divine wisdom that will make me constantly victorious in the battles of life, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

    Netflix to Release Show about Modern-Day Jesus, Produced by Roma Downey and Mark Burnett


    Netflix has announced that they will be releasing a new series called Messiah, which is based on the life of a modern-day Jesus.


    According to RelevantMagazine.com, the series is being produced by Christian producer couple Roma Downey and Mark Burnett, who also produced the popular miniseries The Bible.


    Deadline.com describes the plot of the new series: “It chronicles the modern world’s reaction to a man who first appears in the Middle East creating a groundswell of followers around him claiming he is the Messiah. Is he sent from God or is he a dangerous fraud bent on dismantling the world’s geopolitical order? The story unfolds from multiple points of view, including a young CIA agent, an Israeli Shin Bet officer, a Latino preacher and his Texan daughter, a Palestinian refugee and the media, among others.”


    The series creator, Michael Petroni, added, “Messiah is a series that will have the audience asking big questions. What if someone showed up in 2018 amid strange occurrences and was thought to be the Messiah? What would society do? How would the media cover him? Would millions simply quit work? Could government’s collapse?” said Downey and Burnett. “It’s a series that could change everything.”


    The series is set to release sometime in 2019.

    Being both Reformed and charismatic is like being a “theological orphan,” says The Village Church’s Matt Chandler, and he implores both camps to quit tearing each other down. The two groups, he says, are acting like “divorced parents” and he wants to see them remarried.

    In a Nov. 12 sermon on spiritual gifts, Chandler explained why The Village Church is a “continuous” congregation, one that believes that the gifts of the Holy Spirit the Apostle Paul speaks of in 1 Corinthians 12 and 14 are for today. The opposing view, known as cessationism, teaches that those gifts ceased with the death with the Apostles, and that perspective is held by many Reformed Christians.

    “My whole life in Christ, I have felt like a theological orphan,” he said.

    “To be Reformed and charismatic — that’s a theological muck. I have felt like the child of divorced parents who badmouth one another every time I’m at their house for the weekend.”

    Megachurch Pastor Matt Chandler Believes Holy Spirit’s Signs and Wonders are for Today


    Baptist megachurch pastor Matt Chandler said in a recent sermon that the Holy Spirit’s signs and wonders were not just for the apostles in the early days of the Church, but are relevant for us today.


    Chandler, who is the head pastor at the Village Church, a Southern Baptist congregaton in Flower Mound, Texas, recently gave a lengthy sermon on the topic of the Holy Spirt and His work.


    .News.com reports that, in the sermon titled “The Gifts of the Holy Spirit,” Chandler stressed the importance of the Holy Spirit’s working, and stated, “The Village church believes that the miraculous sign gifts of the Holy Spirit did not cease with the death of the apostles, but are still available to the Church today.”


    He acknowledged that many Christians reject this belief, but stated, “They say it’s not normative and it’s not available to the church today. We would disagree.”


    In the sermon below, Chandler goes on to explain why he believes Scripture teaches that the signs and wonders of the Holy Spirit are still applicable and active today. 


    “If these aren’t one-off miracles, but available to the Body, what would it be like to people who gave ourselves over to this….what would it be like to not be afraid, but to….open up our hearts?” he concluded.
