Topic: How Much More! — Wednesday November 15, 2017.

In October 1915, during World War I, Oswald Chambers arrived at Zeitoun Camp, a military training center near Cairo, Egypt, to serve as a YMCA chaplain to British Commonwealth soldiers. When he announced a weeknight religious service, 400 men packed the large YMCA hut to hear Chambers’s talk titled, “What Is the Good of Prayer?” Later, when he spoke individually with men who were trying to find God in the midst of war, Oswald often quoted Luke 11:13, “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

The free gift of God through His Son, Jesus, is forgiveness, hope, and His living presence in our lives through the Holy Spirit. “For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (v. 10).

On November 15, 1917, Oswald Chambers died unexpectedly from a ruptured appendix. To honor him, a soldier led to faith in Christ by Oswald purchased a marble carving of a Bible with the message of Luke 11:13 on its open page and placed it beside his grave: “How much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” This amazing gift from God is available to each of us today.

Prayer: Father, You are the giver of all good gifts. We thank You for the great gift of the Holy Spirit who lives in us and guides us in Your truth today.

God’s gift of the Holy Spirit in our lives is available to each of us today.

Insight:

Would you want a God who gave you everything you asked for? Or would that be a bit frightening? While Jesus was teaching His disciples how to pray (Luke 11:1–4), He described God as being like a loving Father who would not give them a scorpion if they asked for an egg.

Was He just assuring us that God is good? Or was He gently suggesting something about us? Was He hinting that sometimes we don’t know how to pray for our own good? (Rom 8:26). Maybe that’s why He promised that His Father would share His Spirit with those who trusted Him for what is best (Luke 11:13). Mart DeHaan

Topic: You Cannot Be Defeated — Wednesday November 15, 2017.

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11 KJV)

In the book of Matthew 16:18 (KJV) Jesus declares, “…I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” There is no power strong enough to destroy the church. I want you to understand that you belong to the company of those that cannot be destroyed because the church belongs to God. So regardless of what the enemy is doing, irrespective of his arsenals and all antics, he cannot destroy the church. And when we talk about the church, we are talking about you.

As we climax the age, Satan’s activities will be on the increase and we are already seeing some signs of it around us and all over the place. But the truth is that God has not left us naked without the adequate provision to ensure that we are protected from everything the enemy is throwing at us. He has given us the weapons and the necessary tools to ensure that we are able to withstand the activities of the enemy.

Apostle Paul declares “For though we walk in flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God…” (2Corinthians 10:3-4 KJV). The fact that you are a child of God does not give you complete immunity from satanic attacks. He will attack but the truth is that you have been adequately equipped to withstand him. The scripture says, “…Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:17 KJV)

The mighty hand of God is in His word. Jesus is the word of God and He has already defeated the devil. Jesus descended to hell and made a show of the devil. He disarmed him and rose triumphant over death, grave, and hell. So you see, the devil is already defeated but you have to take all the armour and all the instruments God has given you. By the authority of heaven, the giants will fall before you. The anointing to rule is coming to your life. You will rule your environment. You will not end up a disappointment.

Topic: My Joy Cannot Be Killed [Wednesday, November 15, 2017]

Basic Scriptures: Isaiah 12:1-6; 2 Kings 3:11-19

Welcome to today’s devotional hour with He that can separate cancer from the kidney or any organ without fatality! He is He that is so full of PRECISION and ABOVE MISTAKES! AS 2017 ends and no matter how the year has been, the Holy Ghost wants a user of today’s devotional to know that bowing to opposition today, will make you to miss your possession tomorrow!

With faith in God, every opposition bows to your destiny. However, you must realize that: It takes joy (gladness of heart) to connect with heaven’s divine plan for your life and ministry. Isaiah 30:29 says: “Ye shall have a song as in the night when solemnity is kept and gladness of heart is when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the Lord to mighty one of Israel.” A SONG AS IN THE NIGHT (underlined above) means JOY in the midst of battles you cannot explain!

Don’t forget that your God works best when it is dark! God’s most important agenda for man was carried out in darkness – THE CRUCIFIXION ended with three hours of darkness over the land after Jesus cried: “IT IS FINISHED” at Golgotha! ALSO, you were delicately formed alone in the dark for 9 months in your mother’s womb! Yes the dark seasons of your life and ministry and God’s surgical operation over your destiny! Determine that nothing will still your joy again! Every prayer you pray under worry does not go through! If you are careful (worried) about things, God won’t hear you.

Those who celebrate problems by murmuring, regrets, depression or crying, never get free from them. Isaiah 12:3 says: “Therefore with joy shall you draw waters out of the well of salvation.” You draw out testimonies out of God’s divine well through JOY! Don’t join the Protestants! Settle with the progressives! You don’t travel the devil’s expressway and expect to arrive at God’s destination of blessings. Sorrow, murmuring and depression are satanic roads. Vacate them and when your due season comes, it will announce itself.  A joyful environment provokes the anointing of the Holy Ghost. 2 Kings 3:14-15!

You cannot stay crying at the roadside; you have to press to where prize winners get to! Every time you want to rise, get a song and THE VOICE THAT RAISED LAZARUS will manifest! Laugh and make the devil mad! LAUGH NOW!!!

Topic: Complete Obedience — Wednesday November 15, 2017.

Text: 2 Kings 10:28-36

Key Verse: “But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin” (2 Kings 10:31).

The true follower of Jesus Christ should never fail to draw appropriate lessons from the encounter Apostle Peter had with the Lord in John 13 where our Lord washed the disciples’ feet. The apostle did not want to submit himself for the exercise. Jesus solemnly told him he would have no part with Him if he was not washed. Why would he, a redeemed person, have no part with Jesus just because he did not feel like washing his feet.

The answer is simple: Jesus is the all-wise Lord and we His followers must do His bidding in every detail of our lives. It is His will that matters, not ours. Total obedience is the fruit of genuine salvation. The lesson was lost however on Jehu. He pleased God when he exterminated Baal worship and its prophets in the land of Israel. God acknowledged his exploits and honoured him by offering his four generations of regal rights. That was where it ended because “Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: For he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin” (2 Kings 10:31). Jehu failed in that major detail which mattered most. He only followed the Lord halfway.

The enduring character in a truly saved person is continual and total obedience to the commandments of God. To claim we are redeemed by the Blood of Jesus but still choose what is convenient in His word to obey or not, makes our profession not to be real. We must adhere to what the Lord demands every moment of our walk with Him because our knowledge is limited and wisdom fallible. Moreover, there is need to resist and reject such carnal inclinations and follow where the Lord leads. That is the only way we can escape hearing the words: “Thou has no part with me.”

Thought for the day: Partial obedience to God is disobedience.

Topic: The Tragedy Of Robbing God [Wednesday November 15, 2017]

Scripture: Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. MALACHI 3:10

Thought For The Day: Who can assist whom God resists; who can help whom God hurts?

It is frightening to know that, people do not only steal from man, but also steal from the Most High God.

This is made clear from our anchor scripture above. People rob God by refusing to give their offerings and pay their tithes (the ten percent of their income). To rob God is to hold back from Him a portion of what belongs to Him out of whatever blessing and favour He releases to you. God is entitled to the tithe; therefore, to refuse to pay the tithe is to rob God.

For most people, when they earn money, the first thing they think of is what to buy. This is an inversion of priority.

The truth is, if one uses one’s tithe money to buy a shirt, that shirt would be considered a stolen shirt. Each time the person wears the shirt, the angels of God and even satan will resist the person. This is because the person robbed God to buy the shirt. Incredible!

The tragedy of robbing God is, instead of experiencing an open heaven; one will suffer a closed heaven over one’s life. God Himself would begin to resist the person.

Now, who can assist whom God resists? Who can help whom God hurts?

If a witch curses someone, a pastor can reverse it, but if God curses someone, who can reverse it?

God shall not curse you, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember This: Who can assist whom God resists; who can help whom God hurts?

1. Ask God for forgiveness in any way you have robbed Him by not paying your tithe

2. Develop the God-first mentality to spending.

Prayer: O LORD, I ask for Your forgiveness in any area I have robbed You in time past. Grant me the grace to make You and Your Kingdom the first priority in my life and in my resource, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
