DCLM Daily Manna 14 November, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi – Egypt? Off Limits

Topic: Egypt? Off Limits— Tuesday November 14, 2017.

    Text: Jeremiah 23:33-40

Key Verse: “Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence” (Jeremiah 23:39).

The Bible condemns the doctrine of eternal (unconditional) security of the soul which states that once a person is saved, he remains saved and fit for heaven even if he renounces the lifestyle of holiness. This is far from the truth. In the Old Testament, we read of some who though saved from bondage in Egypt, (symbolizing the sinful world) did not make the promised land (typifying heaven) as they failed to sustain the saving grace they received. They trifled with it.

The same doom came upon Judas, Demas, Ananias and Sapphira in the New Testament. They were once saved but became careless, not acknowledging that salvation was conditional. That is what God is teaching us in today’s reading. The people of Judah in the days of Prophet Jeremiah always mocked him over the kind of messages God gave him for them. They would ask: “Hey Jeremiah, what do you have for us again? More bad news? What’s the latest from your Lord? Come on, tell us!” It was obvious that they were making a jest of the oracle of God.

The mistake they made was that what they called bad news was really the bitter truth they needed to hear and accept in order to turn a new leaf and escape from God’s anger. About 600 years after Jeremiah’s ministry, Jesus said that it is the truth which will set the sinful free. If the Israelites in the days of Jeremiah had received this truth about their spiritual deficiency, they would have spared themselves the fatal judgment that came upon them. But they despised His counsel and He rejected them. Do not behave like them so as not to suffer a similar fate as God has not changed. He still judges. There might not be a second chance to repent before the rapture. So, strive always to “make your calling and election sure” and “work out your salvation with fear and trembling”.

Thought for the day: Salvation is a lifetime contention against sin!

Seeds of Destiny 14 November 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Function – The Cure For Affliction

Seeds of Destiny 14 November 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Function - The Cure For Affliction

Topic: Function – The Cure For Affliction [Tuesday November 14, 2017]

Scripture: “By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through” Ecclesiastics 10:18.

Thought For The Day: A life that is dynamic is a life that is energetic. A life not fully engaged rapidly degenerates and dilapidates.

Function in this context simply means, a task, and to function is to be in action; to carry on a function or to be actively engaged in doing something.

It is important to know that the building referred to in our anchor Scripture represents our body. This is confirmed in 1 Corinthians 6:19a that says ‘know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost…’ By implication, when the body lacks a function or work to do, it is prone to affliction. Our body was designed to be active and not to be idle. It was designed by God to be functional and not for fashion. That is to say you do not exist for fashion, but you exist to function. Therefore, any life that is not dynamic becomes problematic’

Dynamism is necessary for the vitality of life. A life that is dynamic is a life that is energetic. And a life not fully engaged rapidly degenerates and dilapidates.

This is why when some people retire from active service in government, after a short while; they begin to look older than their ages. Others begin to complain of all manner of sicknesses, ranging from hypertension to stroke because their physical bodies have not been actively engaged for some time.

Beloved, anything that expels you from function has exposed you to affliction. Never be comfortable with idleness because idleness attracts affliction to the body.

But that shall not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

Remember This: A life that is dynamic is a life that is energetic. And a life not fully engaged rapidly degenerates and dilapidates.

    Assignment(s):

    1. Keep off from anything or anybody that wants to keep you from function

    2. Determine to be fully and actively engaged.

TREM’s Daily 14 November 2017 Devotional by Dr. Mike Okonkwo - You Are Created To Make A Difference

Topic: You Are Created To Make A Difference — Tuesday November 14, 2017.

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.” (Matthew 5:14 KJV)

As a prince or princess, God expects you to make a difference in your world for the kingdom. With all the investments of God in you, there is no excuse for not doing so. Don’t apologize! If there is nothing happening, there is still something you can do. All you need to do is to take responsibility. When you get to your place of assignment, take responsibility. In your school, church and office, take responsibility. You are an uncommon Prince and I have come your way today to launch you out.

Child of God, different aspects of our society are begging for your talents, the aviation industry, the political sector, the shipping industry and the entertainment industry. They are all begging for your input. Every industry in every nation across the globe has its own peculiar challenges. Make up your mind to be the light of the world. Decide to make a difference in the sector where God has planted you. Today, many marriages are failing, as a believer, your marriage should be an example. Get married and make your marriage work. Show them the kingdom way of doing things. Make them understand that it is not about where you are, but it is about who you are.

There is a whole lot of rot going on in the world that is begging for you and looking for you to appear on the scene. The scripture declares that the “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.”(Romans 8:19 KJV) You have what it takes. You are loaded. Stay productive and show forth what God has put in you.

Everything must answer to you because you carry authority. You have been sent to establish the kingdom of heaven here on earth. You are the very one heaven is looking at to make the difference and right all the wrongs. And I declare by the authority of God, you will get there.

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily November 14, 2017 Devotional: When the Pressure Is On

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily November 14, 2017 Devotional: When the Pressure Is On

Topic: When the Pressure Is On [Tuesday November 14, 2017]

Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name. – Malachi 3:16

Have you ever noticed that those who have the most exciting, faith-inspiring testimonies are those who’ve been under pressure at some time in their lives? They’re the people who stayed faithful when the pressure was on. They’re the people who believed God’s promises of prosperity in the midst of desperate financial situations or trusted God for healing in the face of a terminal disease.

My friend, when you get into a hard spot, that’s not the time to back out on God and begin to say, “Well, God, why did You let this happen to me?” It’s not the time to step back and re-evaluate His faithfulness.

What I’m saying to you is this: When tough times keep dragging on and the situations around you seem to refuse to get in line with the promises of God, don’t re-evaluate God! He’s not missing it, and He’s not failing.

If you’re going to re-evaluate anything, re-evaluate yourself! Look and see where you may have failed. If you still can’t find out what the problem is, just say, “God, I don’t know what’s wrong here, and I’m asking You to show me. But one thing I know, the problem’s not with You, and I continue to be moved by Your Word and not by circumstances.” Then, when He reveals something to you, be quick to make changes.

I want to encourage you to stand firm and to keep honoring God with your words. The Lord is listening to you when the pressure is on. What is He going to hear?

Our Daily Bread 14 November 2017 Devotional – Great Love

Our Daily Bread 14 November 2017 Devotional – Great Love

Topic: Great Love — Tuesday November 14, 2017.

    Read: 1 John 3:1–8, Bible in a Year: Lamentations 3–5; Hebrews 10:19–39

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3:1

Recently, we took our twenty-two-month-old granddaughter, Moriah, overnight for the first time without her older brothers. We lavished lots of loving, undivided attention on her, and had fun doing the things she likes to do. The next day after dropping her off, we said our goodbyes and headed out the door. As we did, without a word Moriah grabbed her overnight bag (still sitting by the door) and began following us.

The picture is etched in my memory: Moriah in her diaper and mismatched sandals ready to depart with Grandma and Grandpa again. Every time I think of it, I smile. She was eager to go with us, ready for more individualized time.

Although she is as yet unable to vocalize it, our granddaughter feels loved and valued. In a small way, our love for Moriah is a picture of the love God has for us, His children. “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1).

When we believe in Jesus as our Savior, we become His children and begin to understand the lavish love He bestowed on us by dying for us (v. 16). Our desire becomes to please Him in what we say and do (v. 6)—and to love Him, eager to spend time with Him.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for loving us so much that You died for us and rose again that we might have eternal life with You. Help us to be examples of Your love to all we meet.

How deep is the Father’s love for us!

    Insight:

Another great statement on God’s love is found in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” This dovetails with the key verse in today’s devotional because God’s love that declares us His beloved children is made available to us by Jesus’s sacrifice on our behalf. He has proven His love on the cross and lavishes that love in relationship—revealing a divine love that could not be satisfied any other way. John 3:16 says that God gave His Son for us. His unquenchable love for us could only be satisfied by doing everything it took to reconcile us to Himself. Bill Crowder
