Joyce Meyer's Daily 11 November 2017 Devotional: Make God Your

Topic: Make God Your “One Thing” [Saturday November 11, 2017]

And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do. — Hebrews 4:13

Life isn’t supposed to be complicated. Jesus didn’t die so we could live complicated, frustrated, miserable lives. John 10:10 says He died for us so we could have and enjoy life. The minute everything gets complicated, it steals joy. We need to learn how to stop stressing and stop living an excessively busy lifestyle.

The opposite lifestyle is one of simplicity. Simplicity means “single, consisting of one thing, unmingled.” God has dealt with me about living a simpler life. He has shown me that the only way to do this is to just be about “one thing.”

God just wants us to be about Him. He tells us in His Word that we won’t inherit His kingdom if we don’t come to Him very simply as a little child and say, “I believe.”

That almost sounds too easy, and you might want to complicate it…but don’t! God’s plan for you is simple. It may not make sense to your mind, but there’s nothing complicated about God, and He doesn’t want you to be complicated. Come to Him today, saying, “I believe.” Make Him your “One Thing.”

Prayer Starter: God, I believe in You. I don’t want to live burdened by complications, so today, I seek a life of simplicity by making You the “One Thing” that I seek. Lead me in Your simple plan for me.

Topic: Doers, Not Hearers — Saturday November 11, 2017.

Text: Exodus 24:1-11

Key Verse: “And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink” (Exodus 24:11).

Twice in today’s reading, the children of Israel affirmed that they would heed the commandments of the Lord as revealed to Moses His servant upon their freedom from bondage in Egypt where they had been oppressed and humiliated for hundreds of years.

God had a covenant relationship with His people, Israel. Much earlier in Exodus 12, the Lord employed the blood of a sacrificial lamb to shield them from the messenger of death who destroyed every first born in Egypt. They obeyed God at that time and it paid off. The ceremonial sprinkling of blood by Moses from the sacrificed animals pointed to the death of Jesus Christ whose blood atone for the sin of the world. Though it was a finished project, access to the full benefits requires true repentance from sin and obedience to Jesus, our Lord and Saviour.

Obedience provides the link to full redemption benefits in Christ’s blood. Jesus reminds us in Luke 11:28 that “…blessed are they that hear the word and keep it.” Part of our obedience is to observe the Lord’s Supper which celebrates the new covenant based on Christ’s death and resurrection.

The passage says: “…they ate and drank.” The blood of animals was used to make covenant between God and man in the Old Testament. “And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words” (Exodus 24:8). The Lord’s Supper is eaten only by those redeemed by the blood of Jesus and are obedient to His commandments. Anyone who partakes of it unworthily will be guilty of undermining God and His provisions for our good (Exodus 24:11 and 1 Corinthians 11:27-30).

Thought for the day: Selective obedience is a self-destructive venture.

Seeds of Destiny 11 November 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Your Passion And Your Portion

Seeds of Destiny 11 November 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Your Passion And Your Portion

Topic: Your Passion And Your Portion [Saturday November 11, 2017]

Scripture: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

Thought For The Day: Your passion determines your portion; where there is no passion, there can be no portion.

Passion connotes a drive for something or someone. It is also fervour, determination, zeal and enthusiasm for something.

It is confirmed that everybody on the face of the earth has one passion or the other. There is no one that is left passionless. The question is: what is your passion? What is the object of your passion?
The challenge today is that a lot of people have perverted passion. There is a perversion of passion from spirituality to carnality, from integrity to venality and from purity to iniquity.

There are Christians who cannot be awake but sleep and snore while a message is being preached in Church but can do a vigil at night on movies for hours without blinking their eyes. There are others who cannot buy a Christian book or material that can change their eternal destinies but can spend thousands of Naira on fashion and vanity. For these people, fashion is their passion. What a perverted passion!

Beloved, your passion determines your portion; where there is no passion, there can be no portion. Your passion for God determines your portion with God. Your passion for God determines your prosperity from God. Your passion for God determines your progress in life, and your passion for God determines your power with God. Those who are passionate for God are powerful people.

Today, I prophesy the impartation of the right passion on you. I terminate every perverted passion in your life. Your passion for God shall deliver to you your portion in God this season, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember This: Your passion determines your portion; where there is no passion, there can be no portion.

Assignments:

1. Ask God for mercy in any area where you had a perverted passion in time past.

2. Deliberately rearrange and reorganize your passion in life, making God and His kingdom your number one priority.

Prayer: LORD, deliver me from perverted passions and vanities of this life. Implant in me, O LORD a hunger for You that cannot be conquered, in Jesus’ Name.

Our Daily Manna November 11, 2017: ODM devotional – Cast The First Stone

Topic: Cast The First Stone [Saturday, November 11, 2017]

Basic Scriptures: Matthew 7:1-10

How swift we can be in judging others! Just the other day, I heard an unpleasant story about a brother and I became so furious that I said: “Who does he think he is? And he calls himself a Chritian.”On and on went my utterances. After a while, my spirit became restless! Some questions that kept reoccurring in my mind were: “AM I A BETTER CHRISTIAN than this brother?” By judging him, am I not even worse than him? Have I ever prayed for him? Matt 7:1-2 says, “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged and for with what ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.”

I was so mindful of the speck in this brother’s eyes because the devil had disguised the log I had in my eyes (we all have ‘logs ‘in our eyes). The woman in today’s scripture was an adulteress; that brother/sister could be a cheat or gossip, but before you cast that stone, check yourself. Are you perfect? 1 cor. 11”31 says, “For if we will judge ourselves, we should not be judged.” The next time you want to casts stone, pause for moment and ask yourself: “Am I any better?” JUDGE YOURSELF; PRAY FOR OTHERS!

Prayer Points: Take any song of worship a led.

1. In your own words pray about today’s word as led.

2. Repent from judging others directly or indirectly! If God were to cast stones, who will stand? Begin to ask for forgiveness again now!

3. Lord, grant me the grace to live uprightly and pray for the fallen because I am not perfect.

4. As 2017 ends, LORD GOD,  show me DAILY MERCY as I show others MERCY!

5. Pray about today generally now

Our Daily Bread 11 November 2017 Devotional – The Good Earth

Our Daily Bread 11 November 2017 Devotional – The Good Earth

Topic: The Good Earth— Saturday November 11, 2017.

Read: Genesis 1:1–10, Bible in a Year: Jeremiah 50; Hebrews 8

God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. . . . And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:9–10

While orbiting the moon in 1968, Apollo 8 astronaut Bill Anders described the crew’s close-up view of the moonscape. He called it “a foreboding horizon . . . a stark and unappetizing-looking place.” Then the crew took turns reading to a watching world from Genesis 1:1–10. After Commander Frank Borman finished verse 10, “And God saw that it was good,” he signed off with, “God bless all of you, all of you on the good Earth.”

The opening chapter of the Bible insists on two facts:

Creation is God’s work. The phrase “and God said . . .” beats in cadence all the way through the chapter. The entire magnificent world we live in is the product of His creative work. All that follows in the Bible reinforces the message of Genesis 1: Behind all of history, there is God.

Creation is good. Another sentence tolls softly, like a bell, throughout this chapter. “And God saw that it was good.” Much has changed since that first moment of creation. Genesis 1 describes the world as God wanted it, before any spoiling. Whatever beauty we sense in nature today is a faint echo of the pristine state God created.

The Apollo 8 astronauts saw Earth as a brightly colored ball hanging alone in space. It looked at once awesomely beautiful and fragile. It looked like the view from Genesis 1.

Prayer: O tell of His might, O sing of His grace, whose robe is the light, whose canopy space; His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form, and dark is His path on the wings of the storm. Robert Grant

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1

Insight:

Comparing Genesis 1 with John 1, we see all three members of the Godhead engaged in the work of creation. The Bible begins with a bold declaration in Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” In verse 2, the author continues to paint the picture of creation, telling us that the Spirit of God was “hovering over the waters.” John illuminates the involvement of Christ in creation: “Through [Christ] all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made” (John 1:3).

As you reflect on the beauty of creation, what does it tell you about God’s character?

TREM’s Daily 11 November 2017 Devotional by Dr. Mike Okonkwo - Grow Up

Topic: Grow Up — Saturday November 11, 2017.

“But there was a strong tower within the city, and thither fled all the men and women, and all they of the city, and shut it to them, and gat them up to the top of the tower.” (Judges 9:51 KJV)

Abimelech could not get to the people of God in Thebez because they did not only go into the strong tower, but they got to the top. Getting to the top speaks of spiritual maturity. You must maximize all your unlimited potential and unleash it so that you will become invisible to the devil. This requires growth in the things of God.

The inhabitants of Thebez did not only get to the top, but a certain woman threw down a millstone and broke the head of Abimelech. What this signifies is that when you grow to spiritual maturity, you will gather enough capacity to confront your enemies. No matter how new you are as a Christian, what you require is spiritual capacity. Women are generally regarded as weaker vessels. This is not talking about inferiority but their physiology. They are not built like men. And so by their makeup, they are weak but it is this same weak woman who threw the stone that broke Abimelech’s head. All you need to do is grow in the Lord and when you do even as a new Christian you can put the devil where he belongs. When you know your rights and privileges no matter how strong that challenge is it will come down.

Keep growing in the Lord. Wake up every morning and say to yourself I am invisible! Evil bows before me, the wicked bows at my gate. No weapon fashioned against me shall prosper. Any tongue that rises against me I condemn. They shall surely gather but it’s not by my God, those who are gathering against me shall surely fall for my sake. I am blessed going out, I am blessed coming in. I have been empowered to succeed and so anywhere I go I must succeed. Even when it is not working somewhere, because I have arrived it must work. As you declare over yourself every day, things will gravitate in that direction and work for your good. God will honour the words you speak over your life.

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily November 11, 2017 Devotional: A Powerhouse of Protection

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily November 11, 2017 Devotional: A Powerhouse of Protection

Topic: A Powerhouse of Protection [Saturday November 11, 2017]

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. – Isaiah 54:17

No weapon formed against you shall prosper. Isn’t that great news! Isn’t it good to know that no sickness, no circumstance, no problem that rises against you can successfully bring you down?

Some years ago, one of our friends was facing a lawsuit. He and I prayed together according to this scripture and agreed it was the final word in the situation, not the allegations against him. We stood in faith, believing that lawsuit had to fail.

Sure enough, when my friend went to court, they just couldn’t beat him. He didn’t win that case because of his keen and witty lawyers. He won because he was innocent and because he had believed that powerful promise of God.

Follow his example. When the devil attacks you in some area of your life, don’t sit around crying and begging God to save you. Open up your Bible to Isaiah 54:17 instead. Remind yourself of what God has promised you. Use that promise to strengthen you against sin and every other evil work the devil would like to use to keep you bound.

Then establish yourself on it through prayer. Say, “Lord, I refuse to be afraid of this weapon the devil has brought against me because I know that according to Your Word, it cannot prosper. I trust You to protect me, and I thank You for it now. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

Don’t let the powerhouse of God’s protection go to waste. Put it to work in your life. It is your rightful heritage as a servant of the Lord.
