Three Men Get Married in World’s First 3-Way Gay Wedding in Thailand

Christian Post Report – Participants hold giant rainbow flags during the Taiwan LGBT pride parade in Taipei, Taiwan, October 25, 2014. Thousands of Taiwanese gathered with people from Hong Kong, Korea and Japan on Saturday for the annual gay pride parade which is in its twelfth year, according to organizers.

Three men have gotten married in what is reportedly the world’s first three-way same-sex marriage in Thailand. Although Thailand doesn’t officially recognize same-sex marriages, the trio claim that Buddhist law sanctions their union.

The Mirror and other sources reported that the wedding ceremony took place on Valentine’s Day in February in Uthai Thani Province. The men were identified as Joke, 29, Bell, 21 and Art, 26.

According to the reports, Art and Joke began a romantic relationship in 2010 after meeting through business.

The couple later met Bell, who was studying management at Phitsanuloke University. The trio developed feelings for each other, and after Bell was hospitalized with a congenital disease, Art and Joke proposed the three-way marriage.

While LGBT individuals enjoy more freedoms in Thailand than in other Asian countries, same-sex couples are not legally recognized.

Joke explained in an interview that he views same-sex marriages just as valid as any state-sanctioned ones. He added that he feels Thai society is becoming more accepting of gay people.

According to the CIA Factbook, over 93 percent of Thailand’s population belongs to the Buddhist faith.

The Human Rights Campaign points out that there are many different traditions and attitudes within Buddhism, adding that, in general, there’s no specific reference or guidance for lay people when it comes to sexual orientation or same-sex behavior.

“Overall, it is difficult to qualify Buddhism’s perspective on same-sex marriage, since perspectives vary greatly within the religion,” the article states.

“Because of Buddhism’s core theme to attain enlightenment, the path one chooses to take within the religion is largely personal, as is one’s beliefs. Hence, most Buddhist literature indicates that opposition to or support for marriage rights for same-sex couples is a personal, rather than religious, statement.”

NBA News: Denver Nuggets Fire Coach Brian Shaw, Melvin Hunt Takes Over as Interim Coach

Brian Shaw Reuters/File

Christian Post Report – Former Denver Nuggets Head Coach Brian Shaw

The Denver Nuggets fired head coach Brian Shaw Tuesday and the position was reportedly taken over by assistant coach Melvin Hunt.

According to a report from Yahoo! Sports, the 48-year-old was relieved from his coaching duties with the Nuggets on Tuesday. Replacing him is Hunt, who will take over the team for the remainder of the season.

“I want to sincerely thank Brian for his time with our organization,” Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly said in a statement. “You won’t find a better guy than Brian and he is one of the brightest basketball minds I’ve ever been around.”

“Unfortunately things didn’t go as we hoped, but we know with his basketball acumen that he has a very bright future ahead of him,” he continued.

Hired in June 2013 as replacement for then the reigning NBA Coach of the Year George Karl, Shaw brought the franchise a record of 56-85 (.397) wins before his exit this week.

Media outlets speculated that Shaw lost the respect of his players on Monday when described the team as a “laughing stock.”

Speaking during his team’s morning practice, Jason Kidd of the Milwaukee Bucks said that Shaw didn’t expect the firing coming too soon.

“This wasn’t anything, I don’t think, he saw coming,” Kidd told ESPN. “It’s unfortunate what happened with B-Shaw, being one of my mentors as a player and also a good friend.”

Hunt is currently in his fifth season working with Shaw in Nuggets following his move from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“Competing for championships is our goal, and therefore we decided to make this decision now and look forward to conducting an extensive head coaching search upon the season’s conclusion,” Connelly said.

‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 3’ Released on PC

Five Nights at Freddy's 3 Youtube Screenshot/ file

Christian Post Report – A screen grab from the Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 teaser trailer

Fans of Five Nights at Freddy’s didn’t have to wait long for the game’s latest installment. One month after creator Scott Cawthon announced Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 the game was released through Steam.

The game is set 30 years after Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza closed its doors and its blood-thirsty animatronic robots were scrapped. Here is the game’s official description on Steam:

“The events that took place there have become nothing more than a rumor and a childhood memory, but the owners of ‘Fazbear’s Fright: The Horror Attraction’ are determined to revive the legend and make the experience as authentic as possible for patrons, going to great lengths to find anything that might have survived decades of neglect and ruin.”

“At first there were only empty shells, a hand, a hook, an old paper plate doll, but then a remarkable discovery was made…”

“The attraction now has one animatronic.”

The way the game is played hasn’t changed. Players have to take on the role of a night guard tasked to watch over the place. As you don’t get any weapons, the only option for survival is to hide from the animatronic robot using the security station cameras, ventilation grates, and audio system.

Here are the system requirements to play “Five Nights at Freddy’s 3” on PC:

• OS: XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8
• Processor: 2 GHz Intel Premium 4 or AMD Athlon or equivalent
• Memory: 1 GB RAM
• Graphics: 1 GB
• DirectX: Version 9.0
• Hard Drive: 250 MB available space

After “Five Nights at Freddy’s 3” will Cawthon release another installment to the series? The developer has released a new teaser image on his website, but rather than pointing to a new game, fans believe that the teaser hints at the end of the series.

The image shows Freddy’s hat on the ground, and according to VG247.com, the image suggests that the animatronic has retired. Cawthon has yet to comment on the rumors.

Ben Carson Says Prison Proves Being Gay Is a ‘Choice’; He’s Right and Wrong

Christian Post Report – Oh, Dr. Ben Carson. What a foot-in-mouth situation you’ve gotten yourself into now. I believe you are both right and wrong but more importantly, people will probably misunderstand your remarks on same-sex attraction.

“Because a lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight — and when they come out, they’re gay,” remarked Carson, the former head of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. “So, did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question.”

Like many of you, I ran across the coverage of Carson’s “prison proves being gay is a choice” remarks in an interview with Chris Cuomo at CNN that was aired on Wednesday. What an unfortunate choice of words he allowed to roll off his tongue. And to make it worse, he did so in front of a multitude of people just waiting for him to say something “ignorant” or “hateful.”

I feel bad for him. Truly, I do. Mainly because I understand what he was trying to say and I somewhat agree with him.

I wrote a column earlier this month clearly stating my position on whether or not feeling attraction to someone of the same gender is a choice. I do not believe, based on my own experience of unwanted same sex attraction, that the attraction in and of itself is a choice. The behavior is a choice, yes. Choosing to act upon unchosen desires is a choice, yes. But the experience of the desire is not a choice.

That being said, I also believe that if you give yourself over to a behavior that you may not necessarily desire at first and then continuously indulge in that behavior, you can begin to actually desire it. I believe, in light of my understanding of the Bible’s teaching on sin, that someone who has always experienced solely heterosexual desire can change or pervert their minds and desires by continuously indulging in homosexual behavior.

Now, why someone would give themselves over to a behavior that they don’t initially desire is incredibly difficult for me to wrap my mind around. But from what I’ve heard, men in prison grow to desire sexual stimulation or intercourse in such a desperate way that they are willing to pursue the satisfaction of those desires with someone that they are not actually attracted to.

In Romans 1, God’s word and our own experience as fallen people teach us that sinful desire isn’t something that stagnates – it builds, it grows, it spirals out of control. The more we give ourselves over to a certain sinful vice, the more of it we desire. It takes increasing levels or darker forms of that thought or action to satisfy us. Anyone that struggles with or is addicted to pornography, for example, can testify to this.

So I concur with Dr. Carson that in the case of prisoners who have previously only been attracted to the opposite sex, and then have give themselves over continuously to homosexual behavior in desperation for some form of sexual intercourse (or whatever the reason), and then as a result of that continued indulgence grow to desire that behavior, yes – it’s a choice.

To be clear, I want you to read the previous paragraph again until you fully grasp what I am saying.

People may not “choose” to experience the sexual desires they now feel, but it was their choice to start and continue to engage in homosexual behavior despite their initial non-attraction to the other same-gender party involved in the act. The resulted corruption of their sexual desire is due to their own willful choices to persist in sin.

But where I feel Carson erred is in lumping the entire same-sex-attracted to community into that one specific experience.

The majority of same-sex-attracted people in the world today experience strong sexual desire toward people of the same gender prior to ever engaging in any kind of homosexual behavior. I experienced that same attraction prior to ever engaging in any kind of sexual behavior. When I chose to start fulfilling those desires through the use of pornography in my teens or through actual sex when I was 18, they grew in strength – as all sin does, like I’ve touched on in my previous remarks. Yet the point I’m making is my initial sexual desire for the same sex was not a result of having given myself over to homosexual behavior, as is the case with some prisoners. In fact, I believe most people’s initial same sex attraction is not simply a result of having given themselves over to homosexual behavior.

In summary, Dr. Carson’s words on the matter do not in my opinion accurately represent the majority of people affected by same sex desires.

The formation of homosexuality in the heart and mind of a person is dark and mysterious. My objective was not to give a comprehensive resource on how homosexual desire develops, but to touch on one way that I believe it can – in light of Dr. Carson’s comments.

I hope that in the future Dr. Carson will think and communicate about homosexuality and the people it affects with more though and sensitivity than he has this week.

And by the way, I also hope he runs for president!!

Fans of the hit teen drama TV series “Pretty Little Liars” who are looking forward towards the budding relationship between Aria and Andrew should expect more of it unraveling as the show progresses to its fifth season.

A report from Enstarz.com cited Brandon Jones, who plays Aria’s (Lucy Hale) “study budd” speaking with TV Line to offer insights about his character’s relationship with the latter.

“I can say that Andrew and Aria’s relationship does slowly grow in the wake of her breakup with Ezra. … You never know, if Aria and Andrew’s relationship blossoms, maybe it will become one of those couples that people love to tweet about,” Jones said.

Andy Swift from TV Line even went to suggest a “shipper name” for the two: Andria.

“I think that’s the best one I’ve seen so far. [Laughs] It works for me,” the actor added.

The talk however pointed out the probability of his Andrew to be “A” to which the actor said: “He does seem to show up at the right places at the right time, doesn’t he? … I’ve actually gotten a lot of tweets about Andrew’s name starting with ‘A,’ but you know what? Aria’s does, too! At one point or another, everyone has been suspected of being ‘A’ on the show. For now, what you see is what you get with Andrew.”

Meanwhile, a synopsis for next week’s episode titled “The Melody Lingers On” was posted on The Futon Critic where it reads:

Earliest Human Remains Discovered in Ethiopia, Researchers Push Back Human Lineage to 2.8 Million Years

(Photo: Reuters/Arizona State University)

Christian Post Report – The jawbone fossil, steps from where it was sighted by Chalachew Seyoum, an ASU graduate student from Ethiopia, in this undated photo.

Researchers claim that the earliest human remains, specifically a jawbone and a handful of teeth, have been discovered in Ethiopia and date back to 2.8 million year ago, which is almost 400,000 years older than previously thought.

“Prior to 3 million years, humans were relatively ape-like and partially arboreal, partially bipedal,” Brian Villmoare, who led the research, told Discovery News. “They lived in the forest, had small brains, and did not eat meat or use tools.”

He added that after 2 million years, “humans have large brains, stone tools, and eat meat, so this transitional period is very important in terms of human evolution.”

The remains of the teeth and the lower jaw fossil were discovered in the Ledi-Geraru research area at Afar Regional State, Ethiopia.

Villmoare, who’s a paleoanthropologist at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, told Live Science that the discovery constitutes the earliest evidence of human lineage.

“There is a big gap in the fossil record between about 2.5 million and 3 million years ago — there’s virtually nothing relating to the ancestors of Homo from that time period, in spite of a lot of people looking,” he said.

The researchers, who published their findings in the journal Science, noted that they cannot say much about how this early human looked like based on the jawbone alone.

“But there does appear to have been a general reduction in skeletal and dental elements in this jaw, which is consistent with the transition to the Homo adaptive pattern,” Villmoare argued.

Researchers have said that humans likely evolved from the more ancient and ape-like Australopithecus, known famously as the “Lucy” discovery. Biblical creationists, such as the Creation Museum in Kentucky which features a holographic exhibit of “Lucy,” have argued that the ape-like creature is not the “missing link” for human evolution.

Villmoare, however, said that the fossil of the jawbone, labeled LD 350-1, dates to about 200,000 years after Lucy, and that the teeth and the proportions of the jaw suggest it belonged to the genus Homo rather than Australopithecus. He suggested that the specimen contains traits of both.

“Once we found it, we knew immediately what it was — we could tell it was a human ancestor,” the paleoanthropologist said. “We were jumping up and down the side of that hill.”

Miami Heat NBA 2015 News, Rumors: Chris Bosh Released From Hospital

Chris Bosh vs. David Lee Reuters

Christian Post Report – Miami Heat star forward Chris Bosh has been released from the hospital following initial treatment for blood clots on his lungs.

The news took the NBA by surprise after the East All-Star was revealed to miss out on the rest of the season with a potentially life-threatening condition.

Bosh initially complained of pain on his back and side areas. He was finally diagnosed after suffering from severe pain during a vacation trip with teammate Dwyane Wade in Haiti.

His last game was in the NBA All-Star Weekend in New York.

Fans and players quickly spoke of their well-wishes for the star, notably Brooklyn Nets forward Mirza Teletovic who also suffered the same illness. His message to Bosh was not to worry because things will be better.

As a result of his condition, the 30-year-old was sent to a South Florida hospital to begin his treatment.

The road back to recovery is still long, and Bosh will still be closely monitored as he tries to get his health back but the initial news is promising.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said “he’s at home. He’s starting to feel a little better.”

When asked whether the former Toronto Raptors star will still be able to play, Spoelstra didn’t say specifically.

“We’ll get there when we get to that point,” Spoelstra said. “Right now, the big thing is he’s at home and we’ll take the next step when we get there.”

Having played 44 games this season, Bosh has averaged 21.1 points per game, while shooting 46 percent from the field. He has also averaged seven rebounds per contest while playing just over 35 minutes each night.

He is a 10-time NBA All-Star, and is also a two-time NBA champion in 2012 and 2013 as a part of the “Big Three” era in Miami.
