 Archaeologists in Nazareth say a first century house discovered in the 1880s could be the home of Mary and Joseph where Jesus was brought up.

Christian Post Report – “Was this the house where Jesus grew up? It is impossible to say on archaeological grounds,” writes Ken Dark, a professor at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom, in Biblical Archaeology Review, referring to a first century “courtyard house” containing limestone pottery that was first uncovered in the 1880s by nuns at the Sisters of Nazareth convent, according to Live Science.

It was Dark who led a team of archaeologists in 2006 that dated the house to the first century.
The team also discovered that the people who lived there centuries after Jesus’ time believed Jesus was brought up in that house.

Christian Post Report – Fr. James Martin, editor-at-large at America magazine, interviewed Colbert in a video posted on Monday and asked him a series of questions about his Roman Catholic faith.

When asked about a question he would direct at Pope Francis if he could, Colbert said: “What do you do to get that smile on your face in the morning?”

He added: “The Pope seems so happy. I was wondering, what is your regimen in the morning?”

7 Satanic Strategies to Distract From Christianity

Christian Post Report – Pretend for a moment that you believe both God and Satan are real beings. And that God is omnipresent, while Satan is a fallen angel who can only be in one place at one time. God of course being the Creator, and Satan being the created being

OK, next. Pretend that Satan’s heart became proud and he tried to usurp God’s authority, and was quickly kicked out of heaven. This would have made him angry and confused, but certainly very focused. Pretend his hatred drives Him to oppose the purposes of God.

Next. Pretend that man, like Satan, has fallen from a place of safety in God’s kingdom. And that man needs the blood which the Son of God comes to shed on a cross for the sins of the world. Pretend it’s the only way for man to be forgiven and brought into a right relationship with God. Got it? Great.

Now in that scenario, what strategies might an intelligent evil angel devise to assail God’s purposes and oppose His kingdom? Imagine Satan coming up with a worldwide plot, and utilizing other fallen angels who now serve him and his diabolical purposes. Imagine each of them being assigned a particular geographical territory in which to carry out their master’s orders.

Can you picture it? Well then, just imagine Satan giving the following instructions to his army of fallen angels.

Strategy #1 – Convince man he is his own god. Trick man into believing he is not accountable to a Creator. In other words, get man to think the world revolves around him. Make man think others are either extremely impressed with him; or they think he is a loser. But either way, it must be all about man. We must turn his eyes inward rather than upward.

Strategy #2 – Raise up a bevy of false prophets who propose a variety of alternative religions. Any religion is OK, as long as it isn’t Christianity. Any religious practices are fine, as long as they don’t involve trusting Jesus and following Him as Lord of all. In fact, use false religion as a weapon against Christianity by convincing man that as long as the religion box is checked in his life, it will all turn out fine in the end.

Strategy #3 – Fan into flame man’s sinful desires. Tempt him to give into those desires so that these habits become addictions driving man further from God. Place things in man’s path which prompt him to compromise any allegiance to God’s Word, and any commitment to holy living. Get man to hate others, hold grudges, and live with bitterness and resentment. Use lust, greed, jealousy, and every weapon at your disposal. Hold nothing back. And realize that your greatest opportunities will occur the moment man steps across any one of God’s boundary lines.

Strategy #4 – Speaking of God’s Word, do whatever it takes to convince man that Scripture is nothing but a bunch of myths. It is not to be taken literally. Convince man that only “fundamentalists” are naive enough to believe such a thing. Since pride is our specialty, use it to incite man to think highly of his knowledge, as long as it doesn’t involve true knowledge of Christ, and a reliance upon God’s Word. We must undermine any confidence man places in the Word of God.

Strategy #5 – Use science against man. Lead man to think science provides all the answers he needs in life, and to reject any belief in the supernatural. This includes rejecting the notion of Satan, angels, miracles, and even God Himself.

Strategy #6 – Convince man that no one can really know whether or not there is life after death. Keep man so busy with activities in this world that he barely has time to think about deeper issues, such as eternity, and the immortality of the soul. Get man to view himself the way he views animals. He lives, and dies, and that’s it.

Strategy #7 – Realize that many human beings will choose to believe heaven and hell exist. For those people, do anything necessary to convince them they must earn their way into heaven. Above all else, distract man from considering the message of salvation by grace through faith in Christ. No matter what, man must not hear that message. Do anything which distracts believers from spreading the message of salvation in your territory.

Well there you have it. Can you imagine Satan devising such a plan? That is, if he is real, and God is real, and the cross is man’s only hope for salvation. It seems like it would be an effective plan. Many human beings would become ensnared by such enticing distractions.

If such strategies were actually being carried out, there would be plenty of evidence right before our eyes, right? Well, look carefully in the world today. What does the evidence suggest to you? Are these 7 strategies for distraction just an imaginative myth, or reality?

If you are too blind to see the Savior today, you probably don’t even recognize the very things which are being used to confuse and distract you. Such is the nature of spiritual warfare.

“Dancing With The Stars” has released the official cast portraits for Season 20. The photos feature the celebrity cast posing with their pro partners, and fans can’t wait for the new season to begin to find out who will dominate on the dance floor.

Rumer Willis—the eldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore—is paired with Valentin Chmerkovskiy. When host Tom Bergeron asked her what her famous parents think about her joining the show, Willis said, “They’re really excited. I mean, they should be.”

Olympic gold gymnast Nastia Liukin is paired with Derek Hough. Hough made his return to the show after he previously announced that he won’t be part of season 20 to take part in Radio City Music Hall’s New York Spring Spectacular.

LMFAO rapper Redfoo will be dancing with Emma Slater.

“I’m just gonna come out and just give it my all! I’m not gonna hold back,” he said on “Good Morning America.”

Charlotte McKinney, who made her debut on the Super Bowl commercial for Carl’s Jr, will be dancing with Keo Motsepe.

“I’m excited to burn off all the burgers,” she joked.

NFL player Michael Sam is paired with Peta Murgatroyd.

“I’m athletic and can perform, so I’m a competitor,” he said on GMA.

14-year old “Hunger Games” actress Willow Shields will be dancing with Mark Ballas. Shields is the youngest competitor ever in the history of the show. “

It’s kinda scary,” she said. “It’s exciting too … I think [Mark] is secretly nervous about that.”

Actress and fitness advocate Suzanne Somers is partnered with Tony Dovolani.

“This is my opportunity to see if all those hormones and vitamins I’ve been taking all these years will really pay off,” she quipped.

Singer-actor Riker Lynch will be dancing with Allison Holker. Lynch is related to DWTS vets Derek Hough and Julianne Hough.

“I actually haven’t talked to them yet, so I will definitely be looking for tips,” he said on GMA.

Retired Army Sgt. Noah Galloway will be dancing with Sharna Burgess. Galloway is a double amputee who is now a personal trainer and motivational speaker.

“Shark Tank” star Robert Herjavec is partnered with Kym Johnson. “You have to compete against yourself, so we’re not worried about the other people,” he said.

Legendary singer Patti LaBelle will be dancing with Artem Chigvintsev. “I’m gonna have so much fun,” said the singer on GMA, “You know baby, I’m just gonna do it.”

Meanwhile, Bergeron and Erin Andrews said on GMA that a mystery contestant is going to be announced right before the show’s premiere and will be dancing with season 19 champion Witney Carson.

There has been speculation that “The Bachelor” star Chris Soules will be competing on the show. Bergeron may have hinted at Soules’ being part of the show when, as a reply to why the mystery contestant couldn’t be at the GMA announcement, he said “he couldn’t rose, I mean, rise early enough.”

Sibilings Julianne and Derek Hough also weighed in the rumors during a Q&A with AOL Build on Monday, admitting that it could be Soules.

“You know …” Derek said. Julianne added, “Oh my gosh, everyone loves ‘The Bachelor’ this season!”

Carson also offered a clue via Instagram, posting a photo of herself in a rural area.

“Just moments away from meeting my new partner,” she captioned the photo.

“Dancing With the Stars” season 20 will premiere on March 16 at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Christian Post Report – One Direction band member Zayn Malik is rumored to be entertaining the idea of going solo, according to recent reports. He has recently confirmed that he has done some recording with good friend and rapper/music producer Naughty Boy, which will be part of the rapper’s upcoming album.

According to Heatworld, Malik apparently could not wait to do a solo project as it said that he had co-written a song called “One Chance to Dance” with Naughty Boy in July 2014 intended for 1D’s next album. The song however, was not included, but the report says it will be released in the near future. Simon Cowell earlier announced that “he’s happy for the One Direction lads to work on their own solo projects.”

Naughty Boy confirmed a few days ago that Malik is indeed going to be a part of his next studio album.

“I can’t deny that we have made music together,” the rapper told Hollywood Life, apparently referring to before his latest album. Naughty Boy also expressed his happiness that Malik is about to showcase his talent outside of One Direction.

“It’s a good time for Zayn to showcase what he can really do. I don’t think that is being fully exploited with the band because there are five people and it needs to be balanced out,” he said.

The rapper also said that 1D big boss Simon Cowell is happy about Malik’s collaboration with him. He also made it clear that this was just a “side gig” for Malik, which quells the rumors about the band breaking up anytime soon.

Naughty Boy himself made a prediction about how long he thinks the band will stay together. He had said that “they are all experimenting and dabbling but I think the band will be together for the next 20 years.”

Christian Post Report – A Canada-based Baptist church had the burden – not to evangelize, but to encourage, empower and equip Filipino pastors in their respective missions and ministries in the Philippines.

Solid Rock Baptist Church, a local and independent church in Alberta, Canada recently held its fourth Pastor’s School conference last week from February 23-27 at the Tagaytay Mission Camp, in Tagaytay City, Philippines.

REBUILD

With the theme “Rebuild: We Are Not Retreating; We Are Building Lives,” the conference addressed some issues that hinder Filipino Baptist churches from experiencing the power of God, and being used by God to carry out His plan.

“They [Filipino churches] got used to having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. They like to do it man’s way, and not God’s way”, said Solid Rock Baptist Church Pastor Mark Harwood, who spearheaded the conference.

“Our desire is not to come over here to evangelize but to help the preachers go back to the old paths. The Bible talks about Jeremiah 6:16 it says that we’d ask of the old paths and walk therein, but it says in the end of that verse we will not walk therein.”

The delegation from Canada included preachers, evangelists and local church members.

According to Pastor Harwood, it is already their fourth year holding the annual Pastor’s School conference in the Philippines, but the Lord has given them a greater vision to reach other parts of the Asian country, including Visayas, and Mindanao.

Aside from a fifth Pastor’s School event next year, there will also be a youth camp that will be held a week ahead.

Throughout the weeklong conference, it was emphasized that building God’s ministries is not just about numbers, but what God can do to advance His kingdom further in the Philippines.

“Instead of all about numbers, and all about what men can build, just get God in the ministries. If these pastors would do that, they can help these young men, and we can shake this country – a full-time revival.”

Christian Post Report – Asus, the Taiwanese computer and mobile phone manufacturer, unveiled their new flagship phones, the Asus Zenfone 2 and Zenfone Zoom at the CES 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada, January of this year. Since its announcement, the phones have been featured in various gadget and technology magazines.

Just recently, the Zenfone 2 won a prestigious International Forum or IF Design award for Product Discipline for 2015. The IF website says of the Zenfone 2: “ASUS Zenfone 2 series is our ideal next generation smartphone series for everyone. With the slim form and new CMF processing application, Zenfone2 provides the new smartphone experience and impressive visual effects.”

A March 9 release date in Taiwan has been announced for the Zenfone 2. At the Mobile World Congress 2015, participants had their first hands-on experience with the Zenfone 2.

According to Phone Arena, the price range for the different variants of the Zenfone 2 is between $199 to $439. The price difference has to do with the screen size and resolution and the processor speed and RAM. It will have a 5-inch display variant which will be the cheapest. At mid-level price is the 5.5 inch variant with a 780 x 1280 resolution, a 1.8GHz processor and 2GB RAM. The highest priced variant will be 5.5 inch also but with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 and a 2.3GHz processor and 4GB RAM.

In terms of camera power, the Zenfone 2 has a 13MP rear camera with 3x optical zoom and a 5MP front camera. It operates on the new Android Lollipop with the proprietary Zen UI. Its storage is expandable up to 64GB and has a 3000mAh battery.

Based on initial reviews of the device, it is considered by some as a very affordable smartphone with high-end specifications and performance.

The Zenfone Zoom is called by Asus as “the world’s thinnest smartphone to feature a 13-MP camera with 3x optical zoom.” It has similar technical specifications as the Zenfone 2 except for the rear camera which has 3x optical zoom but “offers up to 12x zoom-in effect.” Built-in storage for the Zoom is a whopping 128GB, which is of course expandable via micro SD. No release date has been announced for this phone, but the company is eyeing the 2nd quarter of 2015. It is said to be priced at $399.

Apple’s supersized iPhone, the iPhone 6 Plus, has continued to dominate the market since it was released last year. The handset’s big screen has caused fans to do away with their tablets, and the phone’s great battery life is an added advantage.

However, Samsung’s latest release, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, is out to challenge Apple’s best seller with its ingenious design and clear and bright screen, which, though not as large as the iPhone 6 Plus, is still pretty impressive due to its high resolution.

Here, we compare the two handsets.

Design:
The iPhone 6 Plus has a matte, aluminum metal body. The phone has a rounded shape, with the glass blending into the rounded edges. The phone measures 6.22 x 3.06 x 0.47 inches and weighs 6.07 ounces. The handset is available in gold, silver, and space grey.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has a metal body, and the edges of the screen curve out and down. It measures 5.6 x 2.8 x 0.28 inches and weighs 4.06 ounces. The phone is available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, and Green Emerald.

Features:
The Galaxy S6 Edge has the advantage when it comes to screen resolution, but the iPhone 6 has the bigger display. The iPhone 6 has a Retina HD 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and pixel density count of 401ppi. The S6 Edge has a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and pixel density of 576ppi. Also, the curved sides offer quick access to contacts and notifications, and when the phone gets an incoming call, one side of the screen lights up in a specific color assigned to a contact.

The iPhone 6 Plus comes in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB internal memory options, while the Galaxy S6 Edge comes in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB models. Both phones do not come with a microSD card slot.

The S6 Edge has a 64-bit octa core ship and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with TouchWiz interface on top, while the iPhone 6 Plus has a 1.38GHz Apple A8 chip set and runs on iOS 8.

The iPhone 6 Plus has an 8MP iSight camera, and the S6 Edge has a 16MP rear camera and 5MP front facing shooter.

Price:
Off contract, the iPhone 6 Plus costs $949, while pricing for the Galaxy S6 Edge has yet to be announced.

Christian Post Report – Kate Middleton stepped out on Monday, March 2, to celebrate the 105th anniversary of London’s The Goring Hotel. The hotel is where the Duchess of Cambridge stayed the night before her royal wedding to Prince William in April 2011.

It was previously reported that when the Duchess stayed at The Goring Hotel before her nuptials, she slept inside one of the historic building’s royal apartments on the fifth floor. The following morning, the royal left the hotel through the front entrance, got into a car with her father, and the two headed to Westminster Abbey. After the wedding, the hotel received a royal warrant for its role in the nuptials, which hangs discreetly on the outside of the building.

The palace revealed that the event was not part of her official schedule, and the Duchess attended in a private capacity after receiving a personal invitation from the hotel.

According to The Telegraph, the Duchess was there to officially reopen the London hotel in the company of Sir John Major, Helen McCrory, and Damian Lewis. The website reports that local office workers took to Twitter to comment on the party atmosphere created by the Coldstream Guards band positioned outside the hotel to greet the Duchess and arriving guests.

The Duchess was attired in a colorful floral print dress and navy suede pumps. During her two hour visit, the Duchess, who’s currently expecting her second child, toured the hotel’s new suites, which were freshened during a month-long renovation in January. It was reported that the renovation marked the first time The Goring had ever closed since opening in 1910.
