President Trump Donates 4th Quarter Salary to Fight the Coronavirus

President Donald Trump has donated the fourth-quarter total of his 2019 salary to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

In a statement posted to Twitter, White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham announced that the president would be donating his 2019 Q4 salary to the department in a bid “to support the efforts being undertaken to confront, contain, and combat #Coronavirus.”

Trump, who gave away his third-quarter remuneration to the fight against the ongoing opioid crisis, has been making good on his campaign promise to give away all his presidential paychecks to good causes. Past beneficiaries include the Department of Homeland Security to assist in building the wall on the southern US-Mexico border and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

As the wealthiest president in history, Trump can certainly afford the giveaways. In 2018, he declared a staggering $434 million in private income.

As cases of the COVID-19 virus continue to surge across the United States, today the US Surgeon Dr Jerome Adams issued…

PODCAST: Whyte House Daily Devotional Bible Episode #117: Numbers 31, Psalm 47, and Romans 15 with Daniel Whyte III

This is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International with the Whyte House Daily Devotional Bible Reading Episode #117. Where I read three chapters of the Holy Bible in the King James Version a day with my family as a part of our family devotions, to encourage you to read the Holy Bible in a year’s time. Today we are reading Numbers 31, Psalm 47 and Romans 15.

Billy Graham said, “The Bible is God’s gift to us. It came from God, and it points us to God.”

James Merritt said, “The primary purpose of reading the Bible is not to know the Bible but to know God.”

Numbers 31
1 And the Lord spake unto Mo’-ses, saying,

2 Avenge the children of Is’-ra-el of the Mid-i-a-nites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people.

3 And Mo’-ses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Mid-i-a-nites, and avenge the Lord of Mid’-i-an.

4 Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Is’-ra-el, shall ye send to the war.

5 So there were delivered out of the thousands of Is’-ra-el, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.

6 And Mo’-ses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phin’-e-has the son of El-e-a’-zar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.

7 And they warred against the Mid-i-a-nites, as the Lord commanded Mo’-ses; and they slew all the males.

8 And they slew the kings of Mid’-i-an, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, E’-vi, and Re’-kem, and Zur, and Hur, and Re’-ba, five kings of Mid’-i-an: Ba’-laam also the son of Be’-or they slew with the sword.

9 And the children of Is’-ra-el took all the women of Mid’-i-an captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods.

10 And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire.

11 And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts.

12 And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Mo’-ses, and El-e-a’-zar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Is’-ra-el, unto the camp at the plains of Mo’-ab, which are by Jor’-dan near Jer’-i-cho.

13 And Mo’-ses, and El-e-a’-zar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp.

14 And Mo’-ses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.

15 And Mo’-ses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?

16 Behold, these caused the children of Is’-ra-el, through the counsel of Ba’-laam, to commit trespass against the Lord in the matter of Pe’-or, and there was a plague among the congregation of the Lord.

17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.

18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

19 And do ye abide without the camp seven days: whosoever hath killed any person, and whosoever hath touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day.

20 And purify all your raiment, and all that is made of skins, and all work of goats’ hair, and all things made of wood.

21 And El-e-a’-zar the priest said unto the men of war which went to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the Lord commanded Mo’-ses;

22 Only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,

23 Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water.

24 And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and afterward ye shall come into the camp.

25 And the Lord spake unto Mo’-ses, saying,

26 Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and El-e-a’-zar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation:

27 And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation:

28 And levy a tribute unto the Lord of the men of war which went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beeves, and of the asses, and of the sheep:

29 Take it of their half, and give it unto El-e-a’-zar the priest, for an heave offering of the Lord.

30 And of the children of Is’-ra-el’s half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the beeves, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of beasts, and give them unto the Le’-vites, which keep the charge of the tabernacle of the Lord.

31 And Mo’-ses and El-e-a’-zar the priest did as the Lord commanded Mo’-ses.

32 And the booty, being the rest of the prey which the men of war had caught, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep,

33 And threescore and twelve thousand beeves,

34 And threescore and one thousand asses,

35 And thirty and two thousand persons in all, of women that had not known man by lying with him.

36 And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred sheep:

37 And the Lord’s tribute of the sheep was six hundred and threescore and fifteen.

38 And the beeves were thirty and six thousand; of which the Lord’s tribute was threescore and twelve.

39 And the asses were thirty thousand and five hundred; of which the Lord’s tribute was threescore and one.

40 And the persons were sixteen thousand; of which the Lord’s tribute was thirty and two persons.

41 And Mo’-ses gave the tribute, which was the Lord’s heave offering, unto El-e-a’-zar the priest, as the Lord commanded Mo’-ses.

42 And of the children of Is’-ra-el’s half, which Mo’-ses divided from the men that warred,

43 (Now the half that pertained unto the congregation was three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred sheep,

44 And thirty and six thousand beeves,

45 And thirty thousand asses and five hundred,

46 And sixteen thousand persons;)

47 Even of the children of Is’-ra-el’s half, Mo’-ses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them unto the Le’-vites, which kept the charge of the tabernacle of the Lord; as the Lord commanded Mo’-ses.

48 And the officers which were over thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near unto Mo’-ses:

49 And they said unto Mo’-ses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us.

50 We have therefore brought an oblation for the Lord, what every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the Lord.

51 And Mo’-ses and El-e-a’-zar the priest took the gold of them, even all wrought jewels.

52 And all the gold of the offering that they offered up to the Lord, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels.

53 (For the men of war had taken spoil, every man for himself.)

54 And Mo’-ses and El-e-a’-zar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, for a memorial for the children of Is’-ra-el before the Lord.

Psalm 47
To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Kor’-ah.
1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

2 For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.

4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Se’-lah.

5 God is gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

9 The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.

Romans 15
1 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

2 Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.

3 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.

4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Je’-sus:

6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Je’-sus Christ.

7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

8 Now I say that Je’-sus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

9 And that the Gen’-tiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gen’-tiles, and sing unto thy name.

10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gen’-tiles, with his people.

11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gen’-tiles; and laud him, all ye people.

12 And again, E-sai’-as saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gen’-tiles; in him shall the Gen’-tiles trust.

13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

15 Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,

16 That I should be the minister of Je’-sus Christ to the Gen’-tiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gen’-tiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

17 I have therefore whereof I may glory through Je’-sus Christ in those things which pertain to God.

18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gen’-tiles obedient, by word and deed,

19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jeru’-sa-lem, and round about unto Il-lyr’-i-cum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

20 Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:

21 But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.

22 For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you.

23 But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come unto you;

24 Whensoever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company.

25 But now I go unto Jeru’-sa-lem to minister unto the saints.

26 For it hath pleased them of Mac-e-do’-ni-a and A-chai’-a to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jeru’-sa-lem.

27 It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gen’-tiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.

28 When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain.

29 And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

30 Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Je’-sus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;

31 That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Ju-dae’-a; and that my service which I have for Jeru’-sa-lem may be accepted of the saints;

32 That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.

33 Now the God of peace be with you all. A’-men.

When I was a teenager I wanted to get wisdom and knowledge, so I set out the read the big family Bible that many families had in those days. But I couldn’t get past Genesis 2 before I got bored with reading the Bible. I found out later in life that you have to believe on Christ and get saved before you can understand the Bible. So here is how I became a Christian and how you can too:

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”

Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 18:8: “Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now that is bad news, but here’s the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

Romans 10:9 & 13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved… For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead, and you want to trust Him for your Salvation today, please pray with me this simple prayer: Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. I am sorry for my sins, and today I choose to turn from my sins. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. I trust Jesus Christ as my Savior and I choose to follow Him as Lord from this day forward. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour! For more information to help you grow in your newfound faith in Christ, go to Gospel Light Society.com and read “What To Do After You Enter Through the Door”. Jesus Christ said in John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

If you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior today, please email me at [email protected] and let us know. There is some free material that we want to send you. If you have a prayer request, please e-mail that to us as well, and we will pray for you until you tell us to stop.

James MacDonald Returns to Pulpit for First Time since Ouster from Harvest Bible Chapel

James MacDonald Returns to Pulpit for First Time since Ouster from Harvest Bible Chapel

CHICAGO (RNS) — Former Harvest Bible Chapel Pastor James MacDonald plans to return to the pulpit this weekend.

Or at least to a virtual pulpit.

MacDonald is set to preach Sunday (March 22) at Calvary Chapel South Bay in Gardena, California, via livestream. The congregation, like many churches across the country, has moved its services online to slow the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

MacDonald’s message — the first in an eight-week series about Romans 8 titled “The Power to Change” — will mark the first time he has preached publicly since he was removed from his position as senior pastor at Harvest more than a year ago.

“Candidly, there were quite a few weeks over the last 13 or 14 months where I just didn’t even know if I would preach again or if I even wanted to,” MacDonald said during a service at Calvary Chapel South Bay.

MacDonald was fired in February 2019 from the Chicago-area megachurch he founded after radio host Erich “Mancow” Muller aired clips of purported remarks by the pastor in which he allegedly insulted critics, including freelance journalist Julie Roys and several people associated with Christianity Today.

Both Christianity Today and Roys (for both World magazine and her own website) had reported on previous controversies at Harvest surrounding MacDonald’s leadership.

The church’s elders eventually…

Exhortations for Saints and Sinners as They Shelter in Place Due to the Plague with Daniel Whyte III

*AS ALWAYS THERE IS MUCH MORE IN THE PODCAST THAN IN THE NOTES AVAILABLE

EPHESIANS 5:22-33

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

EPHESIANS 6:1-3

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;

3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

EPHESIANS 6:10-20

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Now, if you are with us today and you do not know Jesus Christ as your Savior, allow me to show you how you can place your faith and trust in Him for Salvation from sin and Hell.

Angela Merkel is in isolation: The wrong and right way to fear COVID-19

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is in isolation today after news that her doctor tested positive for coronavirus. Rand Paul announced yesterday that he has tested positive for the virus, becoming the first US senator to do so. Senators Mitt Romney, Mike Lee, Cory Gardner, and Rick Scott are in self-isolation today. Two members of the House of Representatives have tested positive for the disease.

Yesterday, Dallas County joined eleven other counties, states, and cities to institute shelter-in-place orders for all residents. US Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin said Sunday that the lockdown affecting large segments of the American public is likely to last ten to twelve weeks. As US News & World Report notes, this is “the biggest change in daily life since World War II.”

Americans are understandably afraid—afraid of the disease, of its impact on our lives, of the unknown. But there are two ways to be afraid.

One is negative and debilitating; the other is positive and transforming.

The wrong way to fear the pandemic

Merriam-Webster defines fear as “an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger.”

This is the kind of fear that prompts hoarding of toilet paper and other supplies. It causes us to fall for scams and fake COVID-19 “cures.” It provokes anxiety that is physically debilitating, leading to panic attacks, headaches, breathing problems, fatigue, and depression.

Asian Americans are experiencing prejudice and even hate crimes. Rocks and bottles were thrown at a cruise ship as it docked recently.

Such fear seems more widespread today than in many years, in large part because we are facing an enemy unlike any we have faced in my lifetime. My parents lived in a world where polio was an ever-present threat. Their parents remembered the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic that killed as many as fifty million people and the cholera pandemic that preceded it. And my father…

One Church’s Response to the Coronavirus

By Thom S. Rainer

I have the opportunity to work with 1,600 church leaders at Church Answers on an ongoing basis. They are an incredible blessing to me. I mentor 30 of those leaders in one-on-one meetings. Justin Gatlin is the pastor of Alvin Missionary Baptist Church in Alvin, Texas. He is one of the 30 men I mentor personally. He sent me an update on his church’s proactive work to address the pandemic. It is a great example of one leader tackling these challenging times with both faith and works. His church has an average attendance of 200. They only had 115 the week before they canceled worship services. With one exception, I am including the totality of his email with his permission. The only area I did not include was the church’s financial contingency plans.

Hey Dr. Rainer,

I just wanted to touch base on the coronavirus response I am working through and looking for your feedback. We have currently canceled the next two weeks of services (we have two confirmed cases in our town of 27,000, and the county has only performed 15 tests, 8 of which are pending, so we are anticipating a lot more). Our mayor has declared a state of emergency and banned gatherings of over 50, with a $2,000 fine. Our city secretary told me that we could meet as long as we stayed below 50% capacity (what they are recommending for restaurants), but I think for the time being it is a bad witness and unwise. We will reevaluate in April.

For worship: I am obviously doing live streams. A member of our church secured … Read More

PODCAST: No Animal Foods, Part 3 (Overcoming the Acceptable Christian Sin of Gluttony #41 with Daniel Whyte III)

Overcoming the Acceptable Christian Sin of Gluttony #41

Welcome to the Overcoming the Acceptable Christian Sin of Gluttony podcast, a companion podcast to the Acceptable Christian Sin of Gluttony message series. My name is Daniel Whyte III president of Gospel Light Society International. The purpose of this podcast is to share with you, from a biblical perspective, the means by which we can combat and overcome the sin of gluttony and its outcome of obesity.

Our passage from the Word of God today is Proverbs 23:21 which reads: “For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.”

Now, let’s look at gluttony and its effects in the news: According to Fox Business, Working from home has its perks, but potential weight gain isn’t one of them. As more workplaces allow employees to work remotely with the ongoing new coronavirus outbreak, a combination of job stress, the uncertainty surrounding public health and having easy access to the refrigerator could prompt some to eat more than they would at the office. It’s called “stress eating” for a reason. A number of studies show that emotional or physical distress increases the amount of food we eat, particularly meals higher in fat, sugar or both. Jaclyn London, a registered dietitian and head of nutrition and wellness at Weight Watchers, said, “Anytime you’re feeling particularly stressed out — whether it’s at work or at home — and you’re feeling aimless, we go to what’s comfortable.” London said, not having to commute to work and the ability to wake up later can also throw off your meal times. “It’s the disruption in the schedule. Make sure your environment is set up so you have all of that produce, nutrient-dense food so when you’re going to snack you automatically have things available to you that are healthier options.” Stress eating can impact people in a few different ways. In the short term, stress can prevent appetite, but when it’s ongoing, a hormone called cortisol gets released into our bodies that could increase hunger.

In this podcast, we are going through the book, The RAVE Diet and Lifestyle: The Natural Foods Diet With Meals that Heal, by Mike Anderson. This section is titled: No Animal Foods, Part 3:

Another reason why animal protein causes cancer has to do with digestive enzymes – or a shortage of them as a result of eating animal foods. Cancer cells have a protective protein coating around them which makes them invisible to the immune system. The pancreas produces two enzymes that help digest animal protein. In addition to digesting animal protein, only these enzymes can dissolve the protein coating around cancer cells. Once the protein coating is dissolved by the enzymes, the cancer cells become visible and the immune system can do its job of destroying them.

Animal protein requires a lot of enzymes to digest it and eating a diet high in animal protein can cause a shortage of pancreatic enzymes. When this happens, cancer cells will keep their protective protein coating and remain invisible to the immune system – and start multiplying. The more animal protein you eat, in other words, the more you impair your body’s natural defenses against cancer.

In contrast, pancreatic enzymes are not necessary to digest vegetable protein – so you can eat as much vegetable protein as you want and the supply of pancreatic enzymes available to unmask cancer cells will be remain plentiful.

Therapies based on pancreatic enzyme supplementation have been successful in treating cancer, but it’s much easier – and cheaper – to simply eliminate animal products from your diet.

These findings fit together with Dr. Campbell’s findings: Animal protein promotes cancer and vegetable protein does not. In fact, vegetable protein does just the opposite: It fights cancer. These findings also agree with thousands of studies linking animal-based diets with cancer. What’s amazing is that it has taken all these studies to confirm what was obvious to observers in the 1890s.

Cancer is very rare in areas of the world where people eat low-fat, plant-based diets. There is 120 times less incidence of prostate cancer, for example, in China compared to the United States. As the Chinese change to the Western diet, however, their risk increases proportionally with their higher intake of animal foods. This was demonstrated in a study in China where they found a man’s chance for developing prostate cancer increased with the increased consumption of animal products. Migration studies have also shown that as people leave their low-fat, plant-based diets behind and adopt the “standard American diet and lifestyle,” their risk of cancer increases with each year of residence in their new country.

With respect to some cancers, there is a little known problem with eating meat and dairy: 89 percent of the herds in the US are infected with the leukemia virus, which cause leukemia and lymphomas in cows. This isn’t just an American problem as 84% of herds in Argentina and 70% in Canada also have the bovine leukemia virus, as well as high percentages in other meat-eating countries throughout the world. Some countries, such as Finland, have thoroughly eliminated the virus from their cattle, after some 30 years of effort. In the study cited above, regarding American cattle, researchers found that 74 percent of the people they tested had been infected by this bovine virus, due to their meat- and dairy-based diets.

In addition to infecting white blood cells, these bovine viruses also attack other cells in the body, such as cells of the breast and the lymph nodes. One study found the virus in the breast tissues of 10 of 23 human breast cancer patients.

We will continue looking at this topic in our next podcast.

— PRAYER —

Now, in this series, as we focus on overcoming the sin of gluttony, and managing our bodies as God intended, we must not lose sight of the most important part of our existence — our spiritual life. Even those of you who are fit, who eat right, and who exercise regularly must still address the condition of your soul. You may keep your body in perfect condition till the day you die, but you will still die — we all will, and the only thing that will matter is the condition of your soul. Is your soul in shape? Is your soul in right standing with God?

The only way to make sure of that is to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior from sin and the consequences of sin. He alone can save your soul, put you in right standing with God, and ensure that you do not perish in Hell. Now, if you do not know Jesus Christ as your Savior, believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him.

Until next time, may God bless you and keep you is my prayer.

Real Estate Billionaire Tom Barrack Says Commercial Mortgage Market Is On Brink of Collapse Due to Coronavirus Plague

Real estate billionaire Tom Barrack said the U.S. commercial-mortgage market is on the brink of collapse and predicted a “domino effect” of catastrophic economic consequences if banks and government don’t take prompt action to keep borrowers from defaulting.

Barrack, chairman and chief executive officer of Colony Capital Inc., warns in a white paper of a chain reaction of margin calls, mass foreclosures, evictions and, potentially, bank failures due to the coronavirus pandemic and consequent shutdown of much of the U.S. economy. The paper was posted late Sunday on online publishing platform Medium.

“Loan repayment demands are likely to escalate on a systemic level, triggering a domino effect of borrower defaults that will swiftly and severely impact the broad range of stakeholders in the entire real estate market, including property and home owners, landlords, developers, hotel operators and their respective tenants and employees,” he wrote.

Barrack said the impact could dwarf that of the Great Depression.

PODCAST: The Scripture & the Sense Podcast #451: Amos 5:4-5 with Daniel Whyte III

This is Daniel Whyte III president of Gospel Light Society International with The Scripture & the Sense Podcast #451, where I read the Word of God and give the sense of it based on an authoritative commentary source such as the Bible Knowledge Commentary or Matthew Henry Commentary. This podcast is based upon Nehemiah 8:8 where it says Ezra and the Levites “read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.” The aim of this podcast is that through the simple reading of the Word of God and the giving of the sense of it, the church would be revived and the world would be awakened.

Today we are reading Amos 5:4-5.

4 For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:

5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.

________

That was Amos 5:4-5. Now here is the sense of it.

The Bible Knowledge Commentary reads:

National judgment was certain, but individuals could yet seek God and live. They should not, however, seek Him at the sanctuaries, for these were doomed. See comments on Bethel and Gilgal in 3:14; 4:4. Beersheba was in the southern part of Judah’s territory. Evidently northern Israelites crossed over the border to worship at a shrine associated with the patriarchs. Gilgal, the memorial of entrance into the land, was to become the symbol of exile from the land. And Bethel, the “house of God,” was to become “Beth Aven”, a “house of nothing,” a “house of spirits.” In Hebrew, the last part of the city’s name, “El,” meaning “God,” was changed by Amos to “Aven”, meaning “nothing, empty, having no existence,” a word often used to describe the powerless spirits of wickedness. This sarcasm would have a stinging effect on the people.

Thank you for listening to the Scripture & The Sense Podcast. Remember to read the Word of God each and every day and pray without ceasing to God for wisdom to understand it and apply it to your life. Most importantly, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Please stay tuned for a complete presentation of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ so that you can get your soul saved from Hell to that wonderful place called Heaven when you die. May God bless you and keep you is my prayer.

PODCAST: Whyte House Daily Devotional Bible Reading #116: Numbers 30, Psalm 46, and Romans 1 with Daniel Whyte III

This is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International with the Whyte House Daily Devotional Bible Reading Episode #116. Where I read three chapters of the Holy Bible in the King James Version a day with my family as a part of our family devotions, to encourage you to read the Holy Bible in a year’s time. Today we are reading Numbers 30, Psalm 46 and Romans 14.

Billy Graham said, “The Bible is God’s gift to us. It came from God, and it points us to God.”

James Merritt said, “The primary purpose of reading the Bible is not to know the Bible but to know God.”

Numbers 30
1 And Mo’-ses spake unto the heads of the tribes concerning the children of Is’-ra-el, saying, This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded.

2 If a man vow a vow unto the Lord, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

3 If a woman also vow a vow unto the Lord, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father’s house in her youth;

4 And her father hear her vow, and her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her; then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.

5 But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth; not any of her vows, or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand: and the Lord shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her.

6 And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul;

7 And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.

8 But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound her soul, of none effect: and the Lord shall forgive her.

9 But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her.

10 And if she vowed in her husband’s house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath;

11 And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and disallowed her not: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.

12 But if her husband hath utterly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and the Lord shall forgive her.

13 Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.

14 But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them.

15 But if he shall any ways make them void after that he hath heard them; then he shall bear her iniquity.

16 These are the statutes, which the Lord commanded Mo’-ses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father’s house.

Psalm 46
To the chief Musician for the sons of Kor’-ah, A Song upon Al’-a-moth.
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Se’-lah.

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Ja’-cob is our refuge. Se’-lah.

8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Ja’-cob is our refuge. Se’-lah.

Romans 14
1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

4 Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.

8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.

14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Je’-sus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:

17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.

19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.

21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
