An Oklahoma teenager is being charged with a felony for making a terrorist threat after the 18-year-old told co-workers that she had bought an AK-47 and had an urge to “shoot 400 people for fun.”

According to ABC News, Alexis Wilson showed her coworkers at a pizza restaurant in McAlester, Oklahoma pictures and videos of the rifle. She allegedly told her coworkers that “there were so many people” at her former school, McAlester High School, that she wanted to shoot.

Wilson was arrested and police with the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office said they found the rifle in her bedroom. Police also found a 12-gauge shotgun, six high-capacity magazines and rounds of ammunition.

“This is probably everybody’s biggest fear in the United States right now — a school shooting,” Pittsburg County Sheriff Chris Morris told ABC News in an interview Tuesday. “Lots of people don’t want to acknowledge that this, an active shooter or school violence, is probably the biggest threat in America right now.”

“There’s no time to sit around and wait on it. I don’t want one of my schools in my county shot up. I don’t want anybody hurt,” he said. “So when I got the information, I spoke with my deputies and I told them not to go home until they had it resolved and taken care of.”

A Detroit police officer has been praised for his kindness after helping a homeless man shave his beard.

Stanley Nelson, 62, was attempting to freshen up his facial hair in the pouring rain outside Comerica park after a woman gifted him a set of toiletries. But with no mirror or running water to hand, Stanley was struggling to get the job done. That’s when police officer Jeremy Thomas spotted the man and immediately offered a helping hand.

“He had shaving cream on his hands, his coat, his face, his eyes,” Officer Thomas explained to WXYZ. “So I walked up and said ‘Excuse me, sir,’ and … he said ‘I’ll leave, I’ll leave,’ and I said ‘No, do you need some help?’”

After convincing Nelson to stay, this tender-hearted officer went about helping him get a clean shave. The beautiful moment was captured by an onlooker, Jill Metiva Schafer, who snapped photos of the encounter and posted them to Facebook. “What a great Detroit cop!!” she wrote. “This is right outside Comerica park. The game was a rainout but this officer went way above and beyond to help this man shave!!!”

Many responded to the post with words of appreciation. “Thank you, for capturing this photo of a Detroit Police officer doing a good deed,” one person wrote. “They get some much bad coverage and it’s not always warranted.”

A video uncovered by a Christian nonprofit organization shows how North Korea is teaching people in the country to identify and silence Christians and other religious believers.

According to the Christian Post, the video from the Voice of the Martyrs tells the story of Christian evangelist Cha Deoksun who illegally fled to China to find her uncle. She came across Christian church Seotap Church.

But the video calls the church a place for “spies” and an “anti-republic” community.

“Seotap Church is operated by disguised pastors from the puppet South Korea government’s secret service,” the video says. “It harbors homeless illegal trespassers, providing anti-republic (anti-North Korean) religious study, effectively training them as spies.”

The video says Deoksun became a “fanatical believer” and came to North Korea to launch an underground Christian network.

“She was completely fooled by the enemy,” it says.

Deoksun eventually turned herself in for illegally crossing into China and she was released.

“Instead of being grateful for the forgiving policy party (the Workers’ Party of Korea), she gave thanks to the ‘God of mercy,’” the video states.

A Lincoln, Neb., coffee shop employee berated and asked a customer to leave due to her biblical beliefs about homosexuality last week, labeling her “bigoted trash” as other customers watched.

Marilyn Synek, communications specialist at the Nebraska Family Alliance – a Christian and socially conservative organization – wrote in a Facebook post that she is a regular customer at Cultiva Coffee, often starting her day there at 7 a.m. for breakfast. 

But last Wednesday (Sept. 11), an employee approached her and told her to leave.

“Marilyn Synek! I didn’t recognize you until now, but I just realized who you are, what you stand for, and the work you do,” the employee said, according to Synek’s Facebook post. “You are f****** bigoted trash, and we do not want you in our restaurant. Over 80% of the people who work here are queer. You are not f****** wanted in our restaurant, so get out and don’t come back! If you do try to come back, we will all refuse any service to you.”

Earlier this month, 24 couples held hands and committed to a lifetime of marriage in the fourth annual “Grand Wedding” at Dallas-based Concord Church, as reported by Christianity Today.

The wedding is an all-expense paid event made possible by generous vendors—including artists, hairstylists, and musicians—from the congregation and concludes Pastor Bryan Carter’s 90 Day “Cohabitation Challenge.”

The challenge, started four years ago by Carter, encourages couples to either move out or get married. The congregation offers to pay rent for anyone who decides to move out and couples who choose marriage enter 90 days of premarital counseling and relationship classes, as well as mentorship with a married couple for the first year of marriage.

“It helps us to model the gospel, because the gospel is redemptive,” Carter said to Christianity Today. “It’s not just about us calling out a struggle that people may have, but let’s talk about how I can move from where I was to the place where God is honored.”

The challenge began while Carter was teaching a series on singleness.

“I didn’t want to preach about [cohabitation] without giving people a pathway forward. And so we just began tossing around ideas, and somehow we landed with: What would happen if we married them?” he said.
