Seeds of Destiny 6 September 2018 – The Place of Faith in Exploits

Topic: The Place of Faith in Exploits [Seeds of Destiny 6 September 2018 Daily Devotional]

Scripture: And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. – Luke 17:6

Thought For The Day: Exploits are results that break existing records and set new ones.

Previously, we saw the definitions of faith. We saw that faith is the partnership of humanity with Divinity for the establishment of possibilities on the earth amongst many others.

Having understood faith, it is necessary to understand the products of faith or what faith will do in the life of a Christian.

Now, one of the products of faith is that, faith is the highway to a world of exploits (Hebrews 11:32-34). By faith, as we can see from the above scripture, men of old subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouth of lions, quenched the violence of the fire, escaped the edge of the sword, waxed valiant in fight and were made strong. This means, faith is the highway to a world of exploits.

Now, if faith is a highway to a world of exploit; the question is, what is exploit? I will give you three definitions of exploit:

(a) Exploits are Attention-Commanding Results
These are results that command the attention of people, government and even the devil; they are results that even the devil cannot claim ignorance of.
(b) Exploits are Record-Breaking, Record-Making and Record-Setting Results
Exploits are results that break existing records and set new ones. To do exploit is to do what nobody else has ever done before.
(c) Exploits are Earth-Shaking and Ground-Breaking Results
Exploits are results that shake the earth and break the grounds; it is an earthquake dimension of results and impact (Acts 16:25).

Beloved, in order to live a life of exploits, you must have solid faith in God. My counsel is, develop a solid faith in God in order to shake your world for God.

Remember this: Exploits are results that break existing records and set new ones.

Assignments:
1. Make up your mind to do great exploits for God in your-lifetime.
2. Engage the weapon of faith that is necessary for ground-breaking exploits and impacts.

Prayer: I receive grace for earth-shaking dimensions of exploit. I connect to the spirit and power of faith for great exploits, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Andrew Wommack 6 September 2018 Daily Devotional

Topic: Jesus Paid Our Debt [Andrew Wommack 6 September 2018 Daily Devotional]

John 12:31 “Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.”

There is still a future judgment of the world coming, where the wicked will be separated from the righteous and cast into the lake of fire. This verse refers to the sins of the world that were about to be placed on Jesus and that He would suffer our punishment.

Jesus suffered the punishment for our sins, so there is no reason why we should suffer for them too. The price for sin has already been paid by the only one who could fully pay it and that is Jesus. All Jesus asks of us to make His redemption ours, is faith in Him as our Lord.

Sin has a wage it must pay and no one can avoid payday without faith in Jesus. Anyone who does not receive the new birth will be held liable for all the wrong they committed as a result of their sinful nature. However, those who receive the new birth through faith in Jesus, don’t have a sin nature and therefore, will not receive the payment of death.

Physical death as well as every result of the sin nature (i.e. sickness, depression, fear, etc.) is only a by-product of the spiritual death that was already inside of us. The Lord told Adam that in the day he ate of the forbidden tree, he would surely die (Gen. 2:17). Adam didn’t die physically that day but he did die spiritually. Physical death came 930 years later for Adam (Gen. 5:5) as a by-product of his spiritual death.

Eternal life is a gift. The dictionary defines a gift as “something that is bestowed voluntarily and without compensation; a present.” We have nothing to do with earning this gift. All you have to do is receive it by faith.

Open Heavens 6 September 2018 – Goat or Sheep?

Open Heavens 6 September 2018 Thursday Daily Devotional by Pastor E A Adeboye – Goat or Sheep?

Topic: Goat or Sheep?

Memorise: “And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.”– Matthew 25:33

Read: John 10:25-29(KJV)

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.

26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

Bible in One Year: Psalm 120-131, Mark 3:7-30

Open Heavens 6 September 2018 Thursday MESSAGE:

The Bible makes several comparisons between goats and sheep. Those who are unrighteous are often referred to as goats, while the righteous are often referred to as sheep. The Bible compares the goat and the sheep because of their characteristics. The major difference between a goat and a sheep lies in how they take instructions. A goat is very stubborn, while a sheep is submissive. If you try to lead a herd of sheep in a particular direction, they will follow you effortlessly. Irrespective of their number, they will go in the direction they are led. It is usually a different story with goats. When you tell a goat “go this way”, it will refuse to go in that direction, and you will have to drag it by force or even flog it sometimes to get it moving the right way. A goat does not yield to instructions, and it always argues with its guide.

In addition, goats are violent. While it is very rear to find two sheep fighting, a goat can start a fight for no discernible reason. You can see two goats grazing together peacefully in one moment and the next minute they would start a fight. Sometimes, a goat can even fight its keeper. When he insists on the goat going in the right direction, the goat can turn on him and start a fight. In fact, as far as it is concerned, it is its own shepherd. A goat considers itself to be under its own government and will do whatever it likes. In contrast, a sheep knows its shepherd’s voice and listens to it.

Are you a goat or a sheep? Do you obey God’s instructions in the Bible? Do you still steal and tell lies? When was the last time you paid your tithe and first fruit? Are you violent? The Bible says the righteous shall be harmless as a dove (Matthew 10:16). Are you upset with your pastor because he told you the truth? do you refuse to stay under anyone’s tutelage? Do you always want to have things your own way or no other way? Note that when a goat proves stubborn, it usually gets flogged and sometimes gets injured. Refusing to live by God’s word will only bring you pain and sorrow. In contrast to goats, sheep enjoys several benefits from the shepherd. For example, the sheep’s life is secure because the shepherd will protect it, even with his own life (John 10:11). If the sheep loses its way, the shepherd will find it and bring it back on track (Luke 15:4-7). The sheep never goes hungry because the shepherd leads it to green pastures (Psalm 23:1-2, Psalm 37:25). Ultimately, the sheep will reign with God in His Kingdom (Matthew 25:33-34). The major difference between a goat and a sheep lies in their character, check your character today and determine which you are.

Action Point: Open Heavens 6 September 2018 Thursday

The choice to be a goat or a sheep is in your hands; choose wisely.

Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.

Always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee,
Filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose,
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne,

Trial of Former Blackwater Guard Charged in Iraqi Mass Shooting Ends in a Hung Jury – Urban Christian News

The retrial of a former Blackwater Worldwide security guard accused of instigating a mass shooting in Iraq a decade ago has ended in a hung jury.

U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth declared a mistrial on Wednesday after jurors said they were unable to reach a verdict after 16 days of deliberations on a murder charge against Nick Slatten, 34, of Sparta, Tennessee.

It was not immediately clear whether prosecutors would attempt to retry the case. The U.S. attorney’s office said it is reviewing the case and has no further comment at this time.

Slatten was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison in 2014 for his role in the 2007 shooting in Baghdad’s Nisour Square. Fourteen unarmed Iraqi civilians were killed and 17 others, including women and children, were wounded during the attack, which happened during the war between Iraq and a U.S.-led coalition.

A federal appeals court threw out that conviction last year and ordered Slatten be given a new trial.

In June, Slatten again went on trial in U.S. District Court in Washington for his role in the shooting. The trial lasted five weeks and included testimony from his fellow guards and Iraqis who survived the attack.

Government prosecutors alleged during the retrial that Slatten, without provocation, fired the first shots in the melee, instigating a deadly firefight that became one of the flashpoints in relations between the U.S. and Baghdad and raised questions about the U.S. government’s use of private contractors during the war.

But Slatten’s attorneys argued that he was innocent and pointed to the…

‘Shout Your Abortion’ Site Accidentally Uses Picture of Woman Who OPPOSES Abortion

‘Shout Your Abortion’ Site Accidentally Uses Picture of Woman Who OPPOSES Abortion

A pro-choice campaign that was meant to normalize abortion ended up giving a national platform to a well-spoken pro-life woman.

The Shout Your Abortion website posts stories from women who have had abortions with the goal of taking the stigma out of the procedure.

“Abortion is normal. Our stories are ours to tell. This is not a debate,” the website says.

But the Shout Your Abortion website recently stole an image of a pro-life women named Molly Schaap and ran it over a story with the headline, “Shout Your Abortion – I am 23 and I have had 3 abortions. YES I HAVE!” The author’s name was “Heather,” according to LifeNews.com.

'Shout Your Abortion

The story since has been removed.

Schaap told the Canadian pro-life group Choice 42 that she opposes abortion and never gave the website permission to use her picture.

“My name is Molly. I am 24 and want to make it clear that I have never had an abortion,” she wrote in a message to Choice 42. “I was horrified to wake up yesterday and learn that a photo of me was stolen and used without my permission or knowledge … I am appalled that my photo has been used in this manner.

“All of my life,” Schaap added, “I have been pro-life and believe that life begins at conception. I have personally donated to pro-life causes and believe that every life is valuable. As a Christian, I believe that…

More Than 3,000 Evangelicals, Churches Join John MacArthur in Statement Against ‘Nebulous’ Social Justice

(Photo: Rocket Republic via Flicker)MLK50 Conference hosted by the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention and The Gospel Coalition in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 4, 2018.

More than 3,000 evangelical Christians and organizations have joined well-known theologian and pastor, John MacArthur, in endorsing a statement on social justice and the purported dangers the concept poses to the Gospel.

The statement comes in the wake of MacArthur’s recent controversial series that brands social justice as a real threat to the Gospel.

“Clarity on these issues will fortify believers and churches to withstand an onslaught of dangerous and false teachings that threaten the gospel, misrepresent Scripture, and lead people away from the grace of God in Jesus Christ,” the statement explains in an introduction.

“Specifically, we are deeply concerned that values borrowed from secular culture are currently undermining Scripture in the areas of race and ethnicity, manhood and womanhood, and human sexuality. The Bible’s teaching on each of these subjects is being challenged under the broad and somewhat nebulous rubric of concern for ‘social justice,'” it continued. “If the doctrines of God’s Word are not uncompromisingly reasserted and defended at these points,…

Stop Telling Gay People They’ll Become Straight If They Become Christian

(Photo: CBN video)This video still from a CBN feature shows Jackie Hill-Perry and husband, Preston Perry, with their daughter, Eden.

Rapper, writer, preacher and poet Jackie Hill Perry, who once identified as a lesbian, says churches should stop telling gays that they will become heterosexual if they become Christian.

In her newly released book, Gay Girl, Good God, a part of which was published on DesiringGod.org, Perry speaks about what she described as “the heterosexual gospel.”

“The heterosexual gospel is one that encourages SSA men and women to come to Jesus so that they can be straight, or it says that coming to Jesus ensures that they will be sexually attracted to the opposite sex,” explains Perry.

“It usually sounds like, ‘I know you’re struggling with being gay. I can promise you, if you give your life to Jesus, he will completely deliver you from those desires because he loves you.’ Or, ‘I know a guy that used to be gay and now he’s married. Jesus will do the same for you if you trust him.'”

Perry, who used to be a lesbian but is now married to a man and has two daughters, warns that the “heterosexual gospel” is problematic because it “tends to put more emphasis on marriage as the goal of the Christian life than on knowing Jesus.”

“What the gay community needs to hear is not that God will make them straight, but that Christ can make them his,” she continues.

“Someone trying to pursue heterosexuality and not Christ is just as far from a right standing with God as someone actively pursuing homosexuality. They have put their faith in a new ‘orientation’ rather than in knowing the…

Israeli Minister Denies Claims that He Knew Trump Ordered Assad Killed

Israeli Minister Denies Claims that He Knew Trump Ordered Assad Killed

Israel’s intelligence minister said this week he was not aware of a claim that President Donald Trump ordered the killing of Syrian President Bashar Assad.

“I do not know of any such instruction. He (Trump) is also denying it, by the way,” Israeli Intelligence Minister Israel Katz told Tel Aviv radio station 103 FM.

According to a new book by Watergate reporter Bob Woodward, Fear: Trump in the White House, Trump told his defense secretary that he wanted to have Assad assassinated in response to a chemical attack on Syrian civilians in April 2017.

James Mattis, the defense secretary, told Trump he would “get right on it” but he then created a plan for a limited air strike.

“We’re not going to do any of that,” Mattis told an aide. “We’re going to be much more measured.”

Mattis dismissed the book as “a uniquely Washington brand of literature.”

Trump, meanwhile, tweeted that quotes attributed to Mattis were “made up frauds, a con on the public.”

Press secretary Sarah Sanders said the book is “nothing more than fabricated stories, many by former disgruntled employees, told to make the president look bad.”

Woodward also said in the book that former top economic adviser Gary Cohn allegedly stole a letter off Trump’s desk that would have withdrawn the United States from a trade agreement with South Korea. Allegedly, the president…

Turkey indicates release of detained US pastor Brunson unlikely

Mr Brunson is standing trial in Turkey over terrorism charges, which lies at the heart of a diplomatic crisis between Ankara and Washington and has prompted a crash of Turkey’s lira currency.

According to the Hurriyet newspaper, which published Mr Erdogan’s comments, the president told reporters that Turkey followed the rule of law and the US would not be able to make progress in the case by using threats.

Brunson who was working as a missionary, was arrested in October 2016 and later charged with links to a failed plot to overthrow the Turkish government in July 2016. Prosecutors are calling for a 35-year prison sentence in his case.

Supporters claim he is effectively a political prisoner being held as a bargaining chip by Turkey as it seeks the extradition of preacher Fethullah Gülen, which it blames for the failed coup.

Tens of thousands of people have been arrested and lost their jobs following the failed coup attempt.

Franklin Graham Speaks Out Against Democrat’s Comparison of Abortion to a Tonsillectomy

Franklin Graham Speaks Out Against Democrat’s Comparison of Abortion to a Tonsillectomy

In an interview with The Weekly Standard, Dr. Tony Evers, the Democratic candidate running for governor of Wisconsin, compared having an abortion to having a tonsillectomy.

The news outlet asked the candidate if he was in favor of funding for abortions to come from Medicaid.

Evers replied saying, “We need to have the Medicaid money be available for all people and restricting it because of a certain procedure, whether it’s a tonsillectomy or any other procedure, seems to me a foolhardy thing to do.”

When evangelist Franklin Graham got wind of this comparison he decided to speak out about it.

Graham took to Facebook writing, “What does it say about our culture when it is acceptable to compare an abortion to a tonsillectomy? That’s pretty unbelievable.”

He continued, “An abortion is the killing of a child in the womb, intentionally ending a life. Taxpayers paying for tonsil removal is not at all the same as paying for an abortion.”

Graham went on to say, “Far too many people who want to be governors, legislators, professors, and teachers in this nation have fallen prey to a culture of death philosophy. They are denying the worth of millions of children made in the image of God.”

According to The Weekly Standard, Evers said the Democratic Party needs pro-life voters.

“We have a big tent here in Wisconsin. We have to in order to…
