The Deception of Learning

A Promise For You From Bible promises:

Topic: The Deception of Learning [13/07/2017]

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15. Read: 2 Tim 4:12-16

A story is told about a father who wanted his son to learn boxing, he took him to a master of boxer to commence training. The master looked at the boy, knowing that he lacks patience, he took him to a tank of water and asked him to begin slap it. After a year of slapping the tank, he was discouraged and left with annoyance before the date agreed for his freedom. Why did you left, his father asked him? My master asked me to slapped a tank for the past one year without training. By the time he hit a plant with his fist, it broke into two. Only then did he knew that, he was actually being trained for the one year he slapped the tank.

Are you patient enough to stay on that vocation? Whatsoever you are doing now requires your corporation, it might not appear to be what you want now, keep doing it, when the time comes, the dividends will outweigh the pain. Are you doing something so tenaciously without adequate recognition? Don’t give up because your time of recognition is around the corner. Keep reading because every reader is a potential writer. Give yourself wholly to what you know how to do best, pour yourself in your gift and move on to perfection. Be encouraged like Pastor Timothy whom Paul told to give attention to reading. The deception of learning therefore is that, it will appear what you are learning or doing now is a waste of time. Don’t buy it because, the day you stop learning, that day you start to die gradually.

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily July 13, 2017 devotional – The Ability to Believe

Today’s Scripture: “…God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” – (Romans 12:3, NKJV)

Topic: The Ability to Believe [Thursday July 13, 2017]

One of the greatest abilities God has given each one of us is our ability to believe. If you believe God’s Word, you can be successful. If you believe God’s Word, you can overcome mistakes of the past. If you believe God’s Word, you can fulfill your God-given destiny. There is incredible power in what you believe. What you believe is greater than your circumstances, greater than your trials, greater than your medical report, and greater than your bank account! When you get into agreement with God and believe what He says about you, then what you believe will supersede any natural law. I have a friend that came to this country with nothing but the clothes on his back. Today, he runs a Fortune 500 company. Against all odds, he believed he could do what God placed in his heart.

Today, nurture those seeds of faith by dwelling on His Word. As you get the Word of God in your heart, faith will come to you. Faith will grow and strengthen in you. Faith will rise up in you and empower you to take hold of all the blessings God has for you!

A Prayer for Today: “Father, thank You for Your Word of truth which sets me free and deposits faith in my heart. I lift up my eyes to You. I turn my focus toward Your Word and invite You to have Your way in every area of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

David Abioye's Daily 13 July 2017 Devotional – You Need Empowerment!

Topic: You Need Empowerment! [Thursday July 13, 2017]

The believer’s journey begins with the Holy Spirit. The Bible tells us that nobody can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that convicts sinners and leads them to Christ. So at New Birth you have some measure of the Holy Spirit of God. But that is not sufficient for the empowerment that you require to enjoy fulfillment in life.

The Holy Spirit you received at New Birth is the Spirit of witness and assurance. “The Spirit Itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God” (Romans 8:16). This can not take the place of empowerment. In Acts 1:8 Jesus told His disciples, “You shall receive power after the Holy Spirit is come upon you…and you shall be enabled to become my witnesses unto the uttermost parts of the earth” (Paraphrased). So, there is a witness within and there is a witness without. At New Birth you receive the witness within but to become an effective witness on the earth, you need the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

There is no spiritual virtue or experience, no matter how wonderful that can substitute the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. For three years Jesus taught His disciples and after all the teaching, Peter still could not pass the exams. In Luke 22:55-62, he denied Christ three times. He really wanted to stand for his master, he swore, “Even if I have to die with you, I will not deny you.” But as the saying goes, “The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.” Despite his hot desire to stand for God, Peter failed because the power to back up his desire was inadequate. And after that experience Jesus told all His disciples, “Don’t depart from Jerusalem till you are endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).

Joyce Meyer's Daily 13 July 2017 Devotional – Light Up the Darkness

Topic: Light Up the Darkness [Thursday July 13, 2017]

Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. — Isaiah 41:10

God’s Word is clear on this point: We are not to fear. Notice that He doesn’t say that we are never to feel fear, but He does say we shouldn’t allow fear to control us and steal our destiny.

It’s important to remember that what we hide in the darkness has to be brought into the light if we’re going to get rid of it. Go into a completely dark room and switch on the light. What happens? The darkness is swallowed up. That is the way God and His Word work in our lives. When we do what God’s Word tells us to do, those fears that try to torment us are swallowed up. They’re gone, and they have no power over you.

How I wish I had a magic wand I could wave or a prayer I could say that would end fear in your life once and for all. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. Prayer does give us the strength to stand against fear, but for us to overcome and be conquerors as God intends us to be, we must realize that we can “feel the fear and do it anyway,” and then we’ll be free.

Lord, may the power of Your Word be effective in dealing with the fears I bring to You now. Show me the truths that set my soul free. Amen.

Our Daily Manna July 13, 2017: ODM devotional – I Prophesy: 22 Days! A Great Thing Must Happen!

Topic: I Prophesy: 22 Days! A Great Thing Must Happen! [Thursday 13 July, 2017]

(Jeremiah 32:26-38).

Share with me these wonderful testimonies below:

“During the last July 14-day fasting program, at the anointing service, Bishop said that we should divide whatever money we had with us that day into two and drop one part on the altar. I had some money which I was supposed to use for our Sunday fod for that week. Reluctantly, I divided it and dropped one half on the altar. Before then, I was believeing God for a business opportunity. On August 3rd, God connected me to a very wonderful business till today. (UDUBE GLORIA +234-8066154457).”

Here is another testimony again:

“Praise the Lord. Dear Dr. Chris, I don’t know where to start from but God us truly faithful. According to Romans 8:28: “All things work together for good to them that love God.” In ODM of September 2016, you said that God allows some negative things to happen to us, because He has great, positive things in His master plan for us. Setbacks are permitted to set us up. Sometimes, pain is permitted to purify and promote us and delay sometimes is permitted to enable all satanic correspondence against us to be disgraced. That was for me. My promotion was delayed for 6 years. Every year, I participated in the 21-day praying and fasting program, I sowed into ODM no matter how little and gave my Firstfruit offerings.

I told God that I wanted my testimony to be published in ODM for the world to read and glorify our God Jehovahas I always read in other testimonies. Truly 2017 is our year of EVIDENCE. I was promoted on the 31st of January just after the January WORLD ANOINTING NIGHT of 2017 after years of delay. To God alone be all the glory and honor. Dr. Chris, God will continue to move you and ministry forward in Jesus Christ name. I want my identity hidden sir. Thank you Sir! ( Sister Joke.O.).”

What agreat God! It is indeed a RAIN OF EVIDENCE worldwide as we hear testimonies daily! I prophesy: vs. 27 of today’s scripture will show forth in your life! Something good, great, awesome, extraordinary, wonderful and supernatural is about to happen that will crush the power of ACHAN (Satanic delays), scatter testimony extenders, overturn evil rules and break protocols concerning your life, family, ministry and destiny.

A MIRACLE THAT LOOKS LIKE A LIE, YET IT IS TRUE shall locate you in this 14-day fasting programme and at the end of the WORLD ANOINTING SERVICE of July 22nd. I Prophesy: within 22 days from today, the GOD OF SUDDENLY shall locate you in Jesus Christ name!

Today is DAY 5 of the 14-day fasting program. PRAY THE GENERAL PRAYERS ON PAGE 93 AND PRAYERS ON PAGE 49 OF THE “WAR AGAINST HAMAN -12” booklet.

Winning Wisdom: Partakers of Affliction 1

Topic: Partakers of Affliction 1 [Thursday, 13th July 2017]

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; 2 Timothy 1:8

If you ever thought that upon accepting Christ, your life will just be sweet to the end of time, or till He calls you home, well, you’re right, and also wrong. Now, Christ is the greatest gift given us of Love – God, and in Him, all things we need for life has been made available. However, when you chose to acknowledge the gift of salvation, and accept Christ, you placed yourself at enmity with the devil and with the world. (Romans 8:7). What this means is that afflictions are going to come from different angles.

Jesus said in Matthew 10:34-36 “think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.”  If your family and friends don’t believe in the salvation gospel, then that’s an affliction. Affliction come in different ways, and it is peculiar to a person and situation. For some,it might be that the environment is not favourable for a new convert, you are being denied a contract because you are a Christian, etc. The principle that applies are however the same.

The first thing you need to do is partake gracefully of the affliction. Count it all joy that you are afflicted for Christ. 1 Peter 4:12-13 puts it thus: “beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:  But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.” Just imagine how fulfilled you’ll be when the glory is revealed and you know that you partook of the afflictions. 2 Timothy 2:12 says: “If we suffer, we shall also reign with him.“

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for choosing me as a partaker of the afflictions of the gospel. Help me to keep keeping on till Your coming, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

TREM’s Daily 13 July 2017 Devotional by Dr. Mike Okonkwo – What Are You Supplying?

Topic: What Are You Supplying? [Thursday July 13, 2017]

“From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” Ephesians 4:16.

Every believer is called to supply something in the church. What are you supplying for the edification of the body of Christ? We are building ourselves up together. Today’s ministry has gone beyond, repent or perish. Today’s ministry is about how to help your brother to succeed; Practical Christianity. Just as the people came to the disciples and said we want to see Jesus. You and I are the Jesus people they want to see. We are the Jesus that will heal the sick and feed the hungry.

God wants to take you to another level but there is something that you use to have which you dropped:  relationship. Go back to the place you dropped it and pick it up. You are expected to love people and to help them. Before you came to Jesus you know how bad you were. But someone kept at it, cleaning you up with the word until you became matured.

You may not be called to be a preacher but you are called to minister. You can minister with your talent, your gifts, your time, your smile, your money, etc, to the person next to you and lift him up. Examine yourself whether you are still ministering. Check if you have not degenerated to criticisms, accusations and condemnation and being judgmental. If Jesus were to condemn every person, how many will be saved? We must begin to recognize the blessings of God in relationships. You can’t do it alone. You need the other person. Of what good is a nut if there is no bolt? A bolt and a nut have to come together to fit. If you manufacture the bolt without the nut, it is useless.

Kenneth Copeland’s daily July 13, 2017 Devotional – Don't Overlook the Blessings

Topic: Don’t Overlook the Blessings [Thursday July 13, 2017]

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. – 2 Corinthians 4:17

It’s easy to get your spiritual eyes fixed so firmly on the problems in your life, you overlook the blessings completely! As a result, you end up suffering through situations that should have you rejoicing.

Let me show you what I mean. Not long ago, this ministry was facing some great financial pressures. I stood in faith against them. I battled against them with the Word and in prayer.

What I didn’t realize was this: During that time when the problems seemed so great—the blessings were even greater. This ministry was growing faster, ministering to more people, writing more letters, printing more publications, sending out more teaching tapes than ever before! It was a breakthrough time…a time for rejoicing. But I didn’t know it because I was too busy thinking about the problems.

I was so “tunnel-visioned”, all I could see was the pressure, and I suffered through some hard times when I should have been shouting the victory.

But thank God, He woke me up before it was over. He woke me up to the blessings and reminded me that the problems are temporary, or subject to change, but God and His Word of victory are never subject to change!

If you’ve been suffering through some hard times lately, wake up to the blessings around you. You’ll be much more effective in battling the problems if you’re giving God the glory for the solutions He’s already provided. Take your eyes off the trouble and look around you. You’ll soon be shouting the victory!

Our Daily Bread 13 July 2017 Devotional – Intimate Details

Topic: Intimate Details [Thursday July 13, 2017]

Read: Psalm 139:1–18, Bible in a Year: Psalms 7–9; Acts 18

You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. Psalm 139:2

The universe is astonishingly grand. Right now the moon is spinning around us at nearly 2,300 miles an hour. Our Earth is spinning around the sun at 66,000 miles an hour. Our sun is one of 200 billion other stars and trillions more planets in our galaxy, and that galaxy is just one of 100 billion others hurtling through space. Astounding!

In comparison to this vast cosmos, our little Earth is no bigger than a pebble, and our individual lives no greater than a grain of sand. Yet according to Scripture, the God of the galaxies attends to each microscopic one of us in intimate detail. He saw us before we existed (Ps. 139:13–16); He watches us as we go about our days and listens for our every thought (vv. 1–6).

You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. Psalm 139:2

It can be hard to believe this sometimes. This tiny “pebble” has big problems like war and famine, and we can question God’s care in times of personal suffering. But when King David wrote Psalm 139 he was in the midst of crisis himself (vv. 19–20). And when Jesus said God counts each hair on our heads (Matt. 10:30), He was living in an age of crucifixion. Biblical talk of God’s caring attention isn’t a naïve wish. It is real-world truth.

The One who keeps the galaxies spinning knows us intimately. That can help us get through the worst of times.

Prayer: Father God, Your eye is on me as much as it is on the stars in the sky. Thank You for Your love, Your care, Your attention.

The God of the cosmos cares for us intimately.
