Seeds of Destiny 13 July 2017 Devotional by Pastor Paul Enenche – The Rewards of Waiting on the Lord

Topic: The Rewards of Waiting on the Lord [Thursday July 13, 2017]

Scripture: …And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. Isaiah 25:7-9

Thought For The Day: Those who wait on God cannot waste in life.

From our anchor scripture, it can be established that waiting on the Lord cannot be in vain. When we wait on the Lord in prayer and fasting, He intervenes for us.

It is important, therefore, to understand the rewards of waiting on the Lord. This is because we do not get results by merely carrying out an action but by the revelation with which we carry out the action.

So, we are going to look at some of the rewards of waiting on the Lord according to Isaiah 25:7-9.
1. The destruction of the veil or cloud of evil (Isaiah 25:7).

2. The swallowing up of death in victory (Isaiah 25:8). It was in the season of waiting on the Lord that the death that was meant to come to Israel through Haman was destroyed and dissolved by the fasting of Esther and her maidens (Esther 4 to 7).

3. The wiping away of tears from all faces.

4. The taking away of the reproach of the people.

5. The release of gladness and celebration.

Beloved, those who wait on God cannot waste in life. So, wait on God and He will show up for you in the time of need.

Remember this: Those who wait on God cannot waste in life.

Assignment(s):

1. Have a schedule for a periodic fasting and prayer.

2. Study the Word of God and expect a revelation that will address your situation in the course of your fast.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: WHAT IT TAKES TO WAIT ON THE LORD.

Prayer: O LORD, nothing can take the place of Your Presence in my life. In You I live, move and have my being. I receive the grace to wait on You, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

Daily Reading: 1 Chronicles15:1 to 16:36, Romans 1:18 to 32, Psalm 10:1 to 15, Proverbs 19: 6 to 7

Quote: You must travail in the closet in order to prevail in public. Culled from PRINCIPLES AND POWER OF PRAYER by Dr Paul Enenche.

DCLM Daily Manna 13 July, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi – Rejoicing In Persecution

Topic: Rejoicing In Persecution [Thursday July 13, 2017]

Text: Matthew 5:10-12

Key Verse: “Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you” (Matthew 5:12).

“The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be returned unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, we know that every tear today, will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude” (Joseph B. Wirthlin). This is the attitude of those who truly understand the inner nature of the Christian life.

They are able to rejoice in persecution, because they know that life exists beyond this world. The values and character expressed in the Beatitudes are so opposite to the world’s manner of thinking that to them, the only reception for these kinds of people is persecution. Our trials strengthen our witness and testimony, if we persevere through. We get the ability to comfort others, because we have been there. If people see us being strong in the midst of persecution and know that we rely on God for strength: it is a powerful witness.

Paul and Silas were examples of this in Acts 16:23-31. After being beaten and thrown into prison, they prayed and sang praises to God “and the prisoners heard them.” What a witness! Paul the apostle encountered much suffering in his work for the Lord, yet he rejoiced and persevered. As Christians, tribulation and persecution are to be expected. These trials help us become more like Christ. They help work patience in us.

They help us lean more on God and trust Him. We need to understand that God is in control and He promises to work all things for our good. The same God who neutralised Nebuchadnezzar’s furnace of fire for the three Hebrew children is still alive today. He has promised never to leave or forsake us. All we need do therefore when persecuted, is to trust in the Lord.

Thought for the day: The hotter the fire, the finer the gold.

Open Heavens 13 July 2017 by Pastor Adeboye: Pray in the Spirit

Topic: Pray in the Spirit [Thursday 13, July 2017]

Memorise: Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.Romans 8:26

Read: Romans 8:26-27 (KJV)

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Bible in One Year: 2 Samuel 1-2, Ezekiel 7:5-22, Hymn: Sing hymn 15

MESSAGE:

Prayer is very important for every Christian. Most times, we pray in the language that we speak and understand, but sometimes, we get into a fix, not knowing exactly how best to pray on a particular subject matter. This may be caused by our limited knowledge of the situation or of the people involved in it. There are also times in which we are so weighed down by the pressure of life that our understanding cannot string together the right words with which we ought to pray. Our Heavenly Father knew ahead of time that we would find ourselves in such situations, and so He made provision for the Holy Spirit to help us out at such times. This ministry of the Holy Spirit is revealed to us in Romans 8:26, which says,

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

This passage of Scripture clearly tells us that we do not know how best to pray. In other words, no matter how good you are in crafting prayers, the Holy Spirit knows better what needs to be said in prayer at any given time, and He will help you if only you can pray about issues in the spirit. The Holy Spirit can cover grounds that we cannot cover. For example, I cannot be at the Redemption Camp in Nigeria and know what is going on in Australia, England and other parts of the world, but the Holy Spirit knows everything. Even when I am at the Redemption Camp, I may not know how many women are in the maternity centre, there calling on God to assist them in delivering safely, but the Holy Spirit knows this. So when I do not know how to pray anymore, I hand it over to the Holy Spirit. He knows who needs prayers the most in any part of the world, and He will pray through me for them according to their need, even though I do not realise exactly what I am praying about. This is why I find it quite disturbing to hear that even the Pentecostal circles; there are some churches where they hardly pray in tongues. The Bible says we do not know how to pray as we should. Since you don’t know how to pray, why don’t you let the Holy Spirit help you by praying through you? Pray regularly in tongues. Pray at least for one hour daily, speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives you utterance.

Prayer Point: Spirit of Truth, knowing my limitations, please pray regularly through me with Your perfect knowledge of my situation.

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily July 12, 2017 devotional – The Gift of Today

Today’s Scripture: “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” – (Psalm 90:12, NIV)

Topic: The Gift of Today [Wednesday July 12, 2017]

Sometimes, our days can be so full and busy that we forget how precious and fragile our time on earth really is. It can be so easy to allow little things to creep in and steal our peace and joy. Maybe something didn’t go your way, or someone said something upsetting. Even traffic can cause us to get our focus off if we let it. But, we have to remember that each day is a gift. If we choose to focus on what’s wrong, we’ll miss out on the beauty that each day has to offer.

I encourage you today; don’t let the precious moments of life pass you by. Don’t wait for holidays and birthdays to show people that you care. Remember, each day is unique and irreplaceable, a gift from heaven above. You have been given time that can be invested or wasted, hours that can be used or misused. That’s why the psalmist prayed to God, “Teach us to number our days.” He was saying, “Teach us to value every moment we’ve been given so we can live a life pleasing to You.”

A Prayer for Today: “Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of today. I choose to focus on the blessing of each moment instead of allowing the little things to steal my joy. Keep me close to You always as I submit every area of my heart and mind to You in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Peace in the City – By Luanne Asta

This week editor’s album pick is Peace in the City – by Luanne Asta. This album is a collaboration of hymns recomposed and arranged by Nicholas Zinnanti and Luanne Asta with contribution by John Sirrine. The album is an exciting arrangement of modernized hymns to inspire and uplift you day.

Biography of Luanne Asta

Music has played a major role in Luanne Asta’s life since she was a child living the small northern Canadian town of Swan River, Manitoba — she has followed her passion wherever it has taken her, whether that was just a few hours away from home or all the way to New York City.  Luanne_AstaAsta trained classically at the Royal Conservatory of Music for 15 years, winning her first national award at the age of 10. It wasn’t long before her talent brought her south, first to the city of Brandon, Manitoba, to continue her study with renowned vocal teacher Sylvia Richardson. At the same time, she was hired by the Winnipeg Jets NHL and CFL Winnipeg BlueBombers to sing the national anthems at home games in Winnipeg, a city more than two hours away.

An eventual relocation to Winnipeg was inevitable; she spent one year in there before moving again, this time westward, to Kelowna, British Columbia, where she began attending business school, temporarily putting her music career on hold. Eventually, Asta ended up in Vancouver and music was calling her back; she recorded her debut album, Winning Starts With Beginning, in 1998, which went on to be nominated for two Western Canadian Music Awards and three Canadian Country Music Association Awards. Uncomfortable with her new-found local spotlight, Asta decided teaching would be the best route for her, so, in 2001, Asta left her finance job and made the leap into music teaching full time. She opened the Heartland Music School out of her home in the Vancouver suburbs and, almost immediately, her roster grew to 80 students. And it was one of those students who drew her to New York City for the first time; Asta went to Manhattan to see her student perform on Broadway and fell in love with fast-paced metropolis.

Not long after, she packed up her life in Canada and moved once more, this time to a small apartment in the financial district of Manhattan with her dog, Bear.  Her six years in the city have been full of dramatic ups and downs (and yes, a few more moves), but one of Asta’s proudest achievements was founding the Manhattan Kids Music school on the Upper East Side in 2011 and the sister school, Singhampton, in the Hamptons in 2014. Asta was awarded the Best Of New York Award in 2015 and 2016 for New York’s Top Musical Instructors and is praised by her students for her dedication, kindness and professionalism. Now, nearly 20 after her debut album, Asta is back in the studio again to record Peace in the City — an emotional collection of 11 hymns reimagined in a modern style that reflects the vibe of the bustling city she now calls home as well as her devout practice of the Mormon faith, to which she converted in 2000. Asta is very active in her religious community in the Hamptons, acting as Primary President for the area. Asta also sought out special permission to release Peace in the City, and it has been approved by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

David Abioye's Daily 12 July 2017 Devotional – Your Brain, Your Gains

Topic: Your Brain, Your Gains [Wednesday July 12, 2017]

Where no brain is at work there can’t be gain of worth.

Worthy gains are products of working brain.

Keep the brain working to keep the gains flowing.

The gains will not cease to flow for as long as the brain does not cease to work. Gains on ground is a sign of brain (s) at work.

Wake up the brain to download the gains.

When you suffer a loss or losses stir up the brain to reverse the order.

If you want to multiply your gains intensify the workings of your brain.

The only way to turn drain into gain is to put the brain to work.

With brain at work you no longer suffer drains.

Joyce Meyer's Daily 12 July 2017 Devotional – Works That Work

Topic: Works That Work [Wednesday July 12, 2017]

For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the Fountain of living waters, and they have hewn for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns which cannot hold water. — Jeremiah 2:13

I believe one of the biggest ways people waste time is by doing what the Bible calls “dead works.” I like to define a dead work as a “work” that doesn’t work! That means that you are trying to make something happen, but no matter what you do, it simply does not work. When that happens, the reason is that the work is yours and not God’s. When you stop planning and striving, and come to the end of yourself, then God will begin to move. That doesn’t mean you have no responsibility; it simply means your work needs to be inspired and empowered by the Holy Spirit, not conceived in your natural mind and fueled by your natural strength.

There are many different kinds of dead works. For example, anything we do with a wrong motive is a dead work. Another type of dead work would be the efforts we make without asking God to get involved. Take another look at today’s Scripture and imagine how frustrated you would be if you spent all day digging a well, thinking you would get water, and at the end of the day, tired and worn out, your only result was a big hole.

Things we do outside of God’s timing or His will are also dead works. Learn to discern when you are working on something that is not working and refuse to do anything that is not in God’s will and timing.

Love Yourself Today: What do you need to stop doing so you can use your time more wisely?

Our Daily Manna July 12, 2017: ODM devotional – She Escaped by Whiskers!

Topic: She Escaped By Whiskers! [Wednesday 12 July, 2017]

(Psalm 118:17; Isaiah 65:18-25).

Oh! Share with me this amazing testimony sent by your God to disgrace the Agenda of ACHAN the delay agent and merchant of premature death! Did many Jews not die because of ACHAN?

“Dear Dr. Chris, I am Worla B.A from Ghana and a regular user of ODM. On the 11th April, 2017 edition of Our Daily Manna, you asked us to “Pray for the next seven days against premature death,” which I diligently did. Just a day after the prayers which was 18th April, 2017, the God who fetches water with the basket to disgrace bucket and the Holy Spirit who directs our paths, saved me from a near-fatal accident on my way to work. Pastor Chris, on that faithful day, I passed through my normal route to work. When I got to the T-junction, I observed all the traffic rules and in fact, I even looked back before crossing. There was a house close to the road with walls around it which I had to pass by. Pastor, less than five steps to the wall of this house, a commercial car with passengers speeding from where I didn’t know, lost control and crashed into the walls of the house, entering it before stopping.

That was exactly the spot where I had passed with less than five steps forward. If the Holy Spirit hadn’t ordered my steps to pass there quickly, the car would have hit me before using me to hit the wall. I thank God for revealing this to you far ahead of time so that I could pray and avert premature death. Please I want you to publish this to encourage other users to believe and take prophetic instructions seriously. Thank You Jesus Christ! ([email protected]).”

I am humbled to be able to hear from God and write as I am commanded through this ODM booklet! Please Always Take Every Prophetic Instruction, Prayer Point Or Sowing Instruction Written In This Booklet Seriously even if your brain cannot interpret it. In this 14-day prayer and fasting program and at the last-day LAGOS ANOINTING SERVICE, the ANOINTING AGAINST PREMATURE DEATH SHALL LOCATE YOU in a special way! And I have been instructed to lay hands on everyone present! The sister in today’s devotional story narrowly escaped death because she obeyed prophetic instructions and prayed!

You too will ESCAPE! See verse 21 and 22 of today’s second scripture specially! You shall live long to eat the fruit of your labour! ACHAN MUST DIE! Sow an ANTI-PREMATURE DEATH SEED AND GET ONE ANTI-PREMATURE DEATH PSALM which you will pray for 3 weeks!

Billy Graham’s Daily 12 July 2017 Devotional – A Genuine Hero

Topic: A Genuine Hero [Wednesday July 12, 2017]

Jesus saith . . . I am the way, the truth, and the life . . . — John 14:6

With much of society a disappointment, young people have begun to search for answers on their own. Everywhere I travel, I find young people who are asking: What is truth? Who says so? What is right and what is wrong? Is there a final authority? Yes! There is an authority! There is a moral law! It has been exemplified in a real Person. There is a genuine Hero in whom you can believe, who will never let you down. His name is Jesus Christ. He was born into a world as jumbled and riddled with injustice as yours, but He changed it by changing people.

Prayer for the day: You, Lord Jesus, are the Supreme Authority; and my soul praises You!

Written by Billy Graham, Founder of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association(BGEA). BGEA exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ by every effective means and to equip the church and others to do the same.

Fulfilling Your Dream Marriage (2) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Topic: Fulfilling Your Dream Marriage (2)

Dear Reader,

Instability is one of the circumstances facing the average family today. When adequate responsibility is not taken by couples, everything tumbles, causing separation, infidelity and unfulfillment in the homes.

You don’t have to go through any of those heart-shaking experiences. In fact, your home can become so stable that you are not aware others are collapsing. This shall be your own experience from today in Jesus’ name! Last Week, I taught on taking responsibility.

This week, I will be teaching on “Knowledge in Fulfilling Your Dream Marriage.” The main cause of the turmoil families are going through today is the devil, who is the enemy on the loose. He afflicts and brings exaction on families through his wiles (tricks). God’s Word says: The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him (Psalm 89:22). Exaction means to demand something great from someone, while ‘afflict’ means to cause sorrow, trouble or heartache. The Lord is saying the enemy shall no more demand from you the peace your family should enjoy or the love and harmony it should enjoy; no more shall the wickedness of this world afflict or cause you sorrow, heartache or trouble. Isn’t that wonderful news to be able to say: “I am at peace, my family is peaceful and full of joy”, when others are running around and looking for help?

The devil has tricks he uses to afflict families. In order to effectively resist him and enjoy a stable home, your trust must not be in your self effort; rather it must be in the Almighty God. The Lord is a rock, He is very stable; when you anchor your life on Him, you become stable (Hebrews 6:19-20).

If your life is anchored on the Lord Jesus, then you are not alone in these pressure-filled times. God’s Word has been made available to give you absolute exemption. As long as you contend with the enemy and give no room to him, standing on God’s Word, you will never have to go through instability in your family.

One major way, through which the enemy afflicts families and causes heartache, is IGNORANCE. For example, husband and wife are at home talking and smiling and suddenly the face of the man changes, the language of the tongue changes, and before you know what is happening, the two people that were talking together are fighting – the bedroom has been turned to a wrestling ring, all because of ignorance. Therefore, the only solution for ignorance is KNOWLEDGE i.e. knowledge of the facts of a situation and the knowledge of how to solve it. The Bible says: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because thou has rejected knowledge… (Hosea 4:6). The word ‘destroy’ in the above talks about being stripped of honour and dignity. You are denied of the results, honour and respect you should be enjoying all because of ignorance. The knowledge we are talking about is not academic, physical or social. No! I am talking of the knowledge of God and His Word. The Living Bible translation says: My people are destroyed because they don’t know me, and it is all your fault…

You can get to know God through His Word (the Bible) and His Word is the only agent of true freedom (John 8:32). My dear husband says all the time, “Freedom is the only evidence of knowledge”. When the knowledge of the truth comes concerning that situation in your life, home and family and you apply the required knowledge and wisdom from God’s Word, you become free from the heartaches and sorrows that such situations would have caused you earlier on. One thing God’s Word says to families is: …Ye husbands, dwell with them (your wife) according to knowledge giving honour unto the wife… (I Peter 3:7). Husbands, you need to know your wife; not just physically but know her likes, dislikes, her background, her way of thinking, why she behaves the way she does, etc.

You may think you’ve known your spouse well enough during courtship, but I tell you there are lots of undiscovered things you need to know and understand about each other. A month, a year, etc is not enough. That’s why marriage is a lifetime experience. You never know everything at once; you get to know more each passing day. You can get to know each other better by communicating, asking questions like: “Why did you do that?”, “How do you feel about this?” in a calm and respectful manner. You can also start doing things together, spending time together and studying each other closely.

The key to knowing each other better is sincerity; being truthful, unashamed and not afraid of betrayal knowing that God is present to help both of you. Some husbands are afraid to tell their wives the truth, while some wives do the same.  Learn to be patient and build trust in each other. The Bible says: Now although the man and his wife were both naked, neither of them was embarrassed or ashamed (Genesis 2:25 TLB). The “nakedness” spoken of here is not only physical but also emotional (your feelings), and spiritual (your goals, desires); they spoke their heart to each other. They did not hide the truth from each other. I must tell you that this makes for better understanding and peaceful relationship. Ignorance of what your spouse needs and what is going on in their minds or lives is what causes quarrels most times.

To conqueror ignorance, the first step to take is to surrender your life to Jesus Christ. You surrender by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour.

If you are ready for this, please say this prayer of faith with me: “Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today acknowledging that I am a sinner who needs Your forgiveness. I believe You died for me and rose again on the third day. Forgive me my sins, wash me with Your Blood and write my name in the Lamb’s Book of life. Thank You Lord for saving me.”

If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, congratulations, you are born again! You are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace in Jesus’ Name. Call or write to share your testimonies with me through [email protected], 07026385437 OR 08141320204.
