Poland’s President Walks in March for Life for First Time

Recently reelected Polish President Andrzej Duda joined fellow pro-life supporters in the country’s 15th March for Life and Family, as reported by Faithwire. The 48-year-old president is a strong supporter of restricting abortion, stating that “the 21st century’s greatest battle will be for the family.”

Several other political leaders joined Duda, including the Superintendent of Schools for Poland’s Malopolska region Barbara Nowak and Krzystof Bosak of Duda’s competing Confereracja party.

Poland maintains strict abortion laws, only allowing it in cases of rape, incest, or when a mother’s life is in danger. The law also permits an abortion if a child is diagnosed with serious disabilities; yet, Polish citizens have lately taken the charge to fight this law, according to Live Action.

At the beginning of the pandemic, Polish lawmakers debated striking the permission in an effort to defend disabled children.

“From this place, together with you, I call on the judges of the Constitutional Tribunal to be able to stand up with great responsibility for the civilization of life and against the progressive civilization of death,” said Superintendent Nowak. “I appeal to the judges of the Constitutional Tribunal: Do not force us into the civilization of death. We stand for respected life, from the very beginning to the very end. We do not want to be like in the West, ‘modern and…

‘Elections Have Consequences,’ Trump Says during Debate of Barrett Nomination

‘Elections Have Consequences,’ Trump Says during Debate of Barrett Nomination

President Trump said Tuesday during the first presidential debate he has a constitutional right to nominate a new justice to fill the vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court, while Democrat Joe Biden said the president’s nominee would endanger Obamacare and women’s rights.

“We won the election. Elections have consequences,” Trump said.

“We should wait and see what the outcome of this election is,” Biden responded.

The debate was filled with interruptions, crosstalk and name-calling, and led Lou Dobbs of Fox Business Network and George Stephanopoulos of ABC News each to call it the worst debate they had ever seen.

A CBS News/YouGov poll after the debate said only 17 percent of debate watchers said they were “informed” by the debate. About one-third (31 percent) said they were entertained. More than two-thirds (69 percent) said they were “annoyed.”

The opening topic focused on Trump’s nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to fill the seat of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Trump emphasized he is elected for four years, not three, and constitutionally doesn’t have to wait for the election to conclude.

“We have the Senate, we have the White House, and we have a phenomenal nominee respected by all,” Trump said. “… In fact, some of her biggest endorsers are very liberal people from Notre Dame and other places. So I think she’s going to be…

School Policy That Let Children Change Genders without Parents’ Permission Is Blocked by Judge

School Policy That Let Children Change Genders without Parents’ Permission Is Blocked by Judge

A Wisconsin court on Monday blocked a local school district policy that allows students to transition to another gender identity at school without parental notice or consent.

State Judge Frank D. Remington issued an injunction blocking a policy by the Madison Metropolitan School District that allows school officials to conceal information about a child’s gender identity from parents.

In essence, the policy lets students live one way at school and another way at home and it gives teachers permission to deceive parents.

The policy is part of the district’s recently approved “Guidance & Policies to Support Transgender, Non-binary & Gender-Expansive Students.”

Remington’s injunction prevents the district from “applying or enforcing any policy, guideline, or practice” that “allows or requires District staff to conceal information or to answer untruthfully in response to any question that parents ask about their child at school, including information about the name and pronouns being used to address their child at school.”

The legal group Alliance Defending Freedom sued the district on behalf of multiple parents.

The district’s official policy allows children of any age “to socially transition to a different gender identity at school by selecting a new ‘affirmed name and pronouns’ to be used at school ‘regardless of…

Anglican leader warns Christians against ‘treating church as politics,’ saying ‘malicious’ things online

Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby preaches a sermon at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020. | YouTube/The Archbishop of Canterbury

Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, head of the global Anglican Communion, recently warned Christians against “treating church as politics” and engaging in bad behavior on social media.

Archbishop Welby preached a sermon on Sunday at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., which focused on how refugees should be treated.

During his remarks, Welby said that the Kingdom of God is “an autocracy of the purest love,” and Christians “do not choose to be its citizens; its ruler called us out of helpless darkness.”

After noting that “our role is to proclaim, our joy is to celebrate,” Welby went on to warn that this is “not always how we show ourselves.”

“Treating church life as politics and our way of doing things as superior, we engage in malicious comment through social media, we are insincere, we are cruel,” he said. “We have been transformed by the grace of God alone, yet we behave as though we then had to wage a civil war in God’s church so that our views may…

Pastor Carter Conlon Calls for Nationwide Prayer Meeting on 400th Anniversary of Pilgrim’s Covenant with God

Pastor Carter Conlon Calls for Nationwide Prayer Meeting on 400th Anniversary of Pilgrim’s Covenant with God

Carter Conlon, who is best known for his role as the former Senior Pastor of Times Square Church in New York City, is inviting Christians to a special prayer meeting in October in Plymouth, Massachusetts as he believes God is calling His church to intercede for America.

The event will be held in the same location where the pilgrim’s sought the Lord 400 years ago upon their arrival to the country on the Mayflower.

“We’re going to be hosting a prayer meeting from the very house built in 1790 that sits on the portion of ground where the first house in America was built by the Plymouth settlers in 1620,” Conlon told CBN News. “It was in that house, that in a position of weakness, with half of them having given their lives the first year for the cause of freedom and religious freedom, they prayed.”

The pilgrims would go on to dedicate the country to God as part of a sacred covenant with Him.

“And God promised them 400 years ago, they and their descendants would have that freedom here in what became the Land of the Free. But what did we do with that freedom?” Conlon asked.

He added that Americans have then since violated their God-given freedom throughout the nation’s history such as slavery and the current issue of broken families, civil interest, and abortion.

“We’re going to ask God for forgiveness for what we did as a nation with…

Trustees of the Southern Baptist Convention’s publishing arm, LifeWay Christian Resources, are expected to gather in an emergency meeting Wednesday to discuss a lawsuit against the organization’s former president, Thom Rainer, for allegedly breaching his severance agreement.

The lawsuit filed Monday in Williamson County, Tennessee, and cited by the Baptist Press, points to an agreement between Rainer and LifeWay upon his 2019 retirement that prevented him from doing business with LifeWay competitors until Oct. 31, 2021. Among competitors listed in the agreement is Tyndale House Publishers, which announced in August that it had reached a “multi-book, multi-year agreement” with Rainer.

A news release said the partnership would produce books that cover topics vital to a church’s life and health within the…

Seven Detained After Knife Attack Near Former Charlie Hebdo Offices – Urban Christian News

Seven people have been detained in connection with an attack outside the former offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris, officials say.
A man armed with a meat cleaver wounded two people in the attack on Friday.
The main suspect, identified as an 18-year-old man of Pakistani origin, was arrested near the scene. Police said six others were in custody and being questioned.
The attack is being treated as a terrorist incident.
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said it was “clearly an act of Islamist terrorism”. He said police had underestimated the threat level in the area.
The attack came as a high-profile trial was under way of 14 people accused of helping two jihadists carry out the 2015 attack on Charlie Hebdo, in which 12 people were killed.
Charlie Hebdo vacated its offices after the 2015 attack, and the building is now used by a television production company.
The two victims of Friday’s attack have not been officially named but police said they were a man and woman who worked at the production company.
Prime Minister Jean Castex told reporters at the scene – near Boulevard Richard-Lenoir – that their lives were not in danger.

Charlie Hebdo is now run from a secret location.

46 Percent of White Evangelicals Backing Biden Say Their Close Friends Are Voting for Trump

46 Percent of White Evangelicals Backing Biden Say Their Close Friends Are Voting for Trump

Christianity Today reports that most Biden-supporting white evangelical Christians say many of their friends are voting for President Trump.

This comes from a Pew Research Center poll that, according to Christianity Today, found that “White evangelicals who back Biden are about twice as likely (46%) as Biden supporters overall (22%) to say that many of their close friends plan to vote for Trump.”

Christianity Today reports that many Biden Evangelicals come from republican-leaning pro-Trump communities, and ultimately over 80% of evangelicals plan to vote for President Trump.

According to the poll, “Among Biden supporters, those with a four-year college degree are somewhat more likely than those with less education to say they have a lot of friends who back Biden. But they are somewhat less likely to report having no Trump-supporting friends.” However, the poll also found fewer Black people say most of their friends are voting for Biden than they said for Hillary Clinton in 2016. Further, the poll found that nearly 1 in 3 Trump supporters in counties Clinton won by wide margins have no close friends who support Joe Biden for president.

This report came out a day before the Presidential Debate last night, where a focus group of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents all came away with a mixed bag of people who thought President Trump or Candidate Biden did…

Landmine Detection Rat Wins Top Award for Animal Bravery – Urban Christian News

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. A five-year-old giant African pouched rat called Magawa, however, has to be one of the world’s most unlikely life-savers.

The rodent has won the animal equivalent of Britain’s highest civilian honour for bravery because of his uncanny knack of sniffing out landmines and unexploded ordnance.

British veterinary charity the PDSA on Friday awarded Magawa its Gold Medal “for his life-saving bravery and devotion to duty”, which had transformed the lives of people in Cambodia.

Magawa, who was trained by the Belgian charity APOPO, has sniffed out 39 landmines and 28 items of unexploded ordnance, making him the organisation’s most successful “HeroRAT”.

“The work of HeroRAT Magawa and APOPO is truly unique and outstanding,” said PDSA director-general Jan McLoughlin.

“HeroRAT Magawa’s work directly saves and changes the lives of men, women and children who are impacted by these landmines.”

Millions of landmines were laid in Cambodia between 1975 and 1998, causing tens of thousands of casualties.

Magawa, based in the northern city of Siem Reap, is the first rat to receive a PDSA medal in the 77 years of the awards, joining an illustrious band of brave canines and felines — and even a pigeon.

The PDSA Gold Medal is the animal equivalent of Britain’s George Cross. The charity also awards the Dickin Medal, for military animals.

– Sniff and scratch –

APOPO trained Magawa in his native Tanzania to detect the chemical compound within explosives by rewarding him with tasty treats — his favourite being bananas and peanuts.

The rats…
