Riced Vegetables or ricing vegetables is my new thing….First it was spiralized vegetables, I have now added “Riced” vegetables to my list of dishes I eat as part of the plan to increase my vegetable intake.

So essentially, ricing vegetables involve cutting them into grain size pieces…essentially making them look like rice…! Very easy. Pakistan’s foreign minister says the west are playing up Christian persecution

Just a few months after the release of Asia Bibi, a Catholic woman on death row, and several other cases of Christians having fled the country or trying to be free of similar blasphemy charges – the politician has denied that it is a trend. 

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on his two-day visit to Brussels that accounts of Christians being violently treated were “individual incidents” no different to minorities being killed by knife crime in the UK or other minorities being mistreated in the rest of Europe. 

He said: “I can assure you that Christians are very welcome. The Christian community in Pakistan is very positive and a very responsible community…We respect them and we want them to be there. We will do everything possible to protect them and we are.”

 

   

“I can quote you examples of how knife crime has gone up in Britain that is a clear reflection of an increased intolerance within a society which has been so tolerant, so accommodating. So there are examples over here, and there could be some examples over there,” he said. 

There are an estimated 3.9 million Christians in Pakistan in a country of 200.8 million, meaning they make up about two per cent of the population.

Their blasphemy laws prohibit speaking negatively of the Muslim prophet Muhammad and the Christian religious freedom charity Open Doors put Pakistan 5th on their list of countries…

Pete Buttigieg Calls Republicans Hypocritical for Supporting Trump’s Border Policies



Mayor Pete Buttigieg used a discussion about the border to accuse Republicans of religious hypocrisy during Thursday night’s Democratic debate. During the second night of Democratic debates, moderators asked how many of the candidates on stage would make illegal border crossings a civil rather than criminal offense. Every candidate on the stage said they would.


Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, jumped on the question to take a shot at Republicans over recent reports that the Trump administration continues to separate children from their families and houses them in squalid conditions. Without acknowledging that President Trump has said that he is concerned about the situation at the border and that Vice President Pence called the situation “totally unacceptable” and called on Congress to provide more resources for border security, Buttigieg attacked Republicans as hypocritical over the issue.


Buttigieg said, “The Republican Party likes to cloak itself in the language of religion,” and then acknowledged that Democrats don’t talk about religion as much because of their commitment to the separation of church and state. Then, he continued his line of attack on Republicans, saying “We should call hypocrisy, and for a party that associates itself with Christianity to say it is okay to suggest that God would smile on the division of families…
