NHL NHL

Christian Post Report – The NHL is looking to expand has Las Vegas in its sights

Fresh from their Game 1 win, the New York Islanders try to win their second game at the Verizon Center when they face the Washington Capitals in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference battle. The game will be on April 17, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

In the first game, both teams matched up pretty well early, with Brock Nelson picking up the puck in the middle to blast a shot on Braden Holtby’s glove side to give the Islanders the lead in the seventh minute of the game.

Marcus Johanssen leveled things in the closing minute of the first period with a goal after a scuffle behind the New York goal. The Capitals eventually won the puck and Johanssen blasted a shot that hit the top-left corner of the goal. However, things started to turn around in the second period, with Ryan Strome scoring off a John Tavares assist in the fourth minute to restore the New York lead.

Off a face-off in the Capitals’ side, Tavares brought the puck to his left side where Strome picked up the puck and shot in between bodies to beat Holtby. And in the 11th minute, Josh Bailey added to the lead after an offensive barrage from New York. Holtby tried to stop numerous attempts from the Islanders attackers but could not stop Bailey’s second attempted rebound which found a crease underneath him.

The goal was reviewed but finally confirmed the goal after replays showed that it clearly went past the line. Things were formally ended with an empty net goal by Nelson after Washington were desperate to cut the lead with less than two minutes on the clock. Washington lost control of the puck in their offensive zone which led to a quick counter-attack for New York to finish the game 4-1.

With another win in Washington, the Islanders take a firm hold on the series as it heads to the Big Apple.

Montreal Canadiens vs Ottawa Senators Live Stream Free, Start Time: Watch NHL Playoffs 2015 Online

Christian Post Report – Montreal Canadiens’ P.K. Subban (L) congratulates his teammate Carey Price after their win against the Tampa Bay Lightning during their NHL pre-season game at the Colisee in Quebec City, October 1, 2011.

After winning Game 1 of their NHL playoff matchup against the Ottawa Senators, the Montreal Canadiens will try to take a 2-0 lead when they meet again at the Bell Center for Game 2. The game will be on April 17, 2015 at 7 p.m. ET.

In the first game, Ottawa took the lead in the first period behind a goal from Milan Michalek.

The Senators tried to move the puck forward and Michalek was able to win the battle against Montreal defenseman Andrei Markov and the Ottawa man’s shot deflected off of Markov’s stick into the goal of an unsuspecting Carey Price.

In the second period, the Canadiens got the goal back and leveled things with Torrey Mitchell’s backhanded shot after going around the back of Andrew Hammond’s goal and tapping the puck into an open area in the eighth minute of the game.

Less than 15 seconds later, Montreal got the lead with Tomas Plekanec’s goal. Ottawa defenseman Erik Karlsson committed the mistake of trying to keep the puck within the blue line but Plekanec beat him to the puck and fired straight at Hammond for the goal. Assists were credited to Alex Galchenyuk and P.K. Subban.

Things were level again in the 11th minute after Kyle Turris powered a goal past Price after Turris was fresh from serving his minor penalty. It was a broken play and the Senators were trying to find a way past the defense of the Canadiens but Turris’ wrister had so much power that the puck went in and immediately bounced out of the net to level things 2-2.

In the 12th, Lars Eller restored Montreal’s lead after taking advantage of an error from Cody Ceci. The puck bounced off Ceci’s skates as it was passed on to him, prompting Bryan Flynn to pick up the puck and forward it to a streaking Eller who beat the goalie to get the lead.

Once again, things were leveled at 3-3 when Mika Zibanejad found the puck on the rebound to smash it into the net. In the power play goal, Ottawa had a shot attempt but bounced off Bobby Ryan’s number but Zibanejad was around to clean up the mess and score the tying goal.

However, in the 18th minute, Flynn scored what proved to be the game-winning goal as he rounded up the Senators defenses from the side to skate in front of Hammond and beat him on the glove side to get the 4-3 win and eventually, the win.

If the first game is any indication, it will be a long and interesting series. For live scores and updates, go to NHL.com. For live streaming, click here.

Christian Post Report – Television personality Rob Kardashian arrives at the opening of the Kardashian Khaos store at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada in this December 15, 2011 file photo.

Information has emerged Rob Kardashian is set to write a tell-all book about his Kardashian family, with particular focus on matriarch Kris Jenner and sister, Kim.

Allegedly with revenge on his mind, the only Kardashian brother, Rob, is set to write a tell-all book about his family. The 28-year-old reality personality may have signed a book deal to reveal how reality TV fame has “tainted” his sisters and mother, Female First U.K. reported.

The only Kardashian son has recently been the center of his family’s concern after reports have surfaced he had been spending a majority of his time in his room for the last two years, gaining a considerable amount of weight, and even missing his sister Kim’s wedding to rapper Kanye West.

In one of the episodes of their show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” the family discussed an intervention to deal with their troubled sibling.

Radar Online reported that the Kardashian brother has signed a deal for a tell-all book to reveal more secrets about reality television’s notoriously fame-seeking family, which is said to contain intimate details about the marriage between sister Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, alluding to the union being based on money and publicity alone.

Anonymous insiders claim that told Female First that the tell-all book is his way of coping with deeply-rooted anger.

He was recently been featured on the news after he posted the photo of Amy Dunne, Rosamund Pike’s psychopathic character on “Gone Girl,” referring to his sister, Kim as “that b—-,” a post which has since been deleted. In that same day, he unfriended the entire Kardashian clan on Instagram, but had a change of heart and reconnected with them on the platform later.

Apple WWDC 2015: Upcoming Apple Event Will Focus On Software Development

Apple CEO Tim Cook Reuters/File

Christian Post Report – Apple CEO Tim Cook during the 2014 WWDC keynote focusing the iOS8

A couple of years ago, the Apple Worldwide Developer’s Conference was the venue for new Apple devices, particularly in the MacBook range and other consumer devices.

However, trends change, and the once hardware-focused event has become a software-central conference. Last year, the Cupertino manufacturer did not release any hardware devices, but announced the beta version of iOS 8, and hinted the OS X 10.10 Yosemite.

This year, the focus on software could still be the trend for Apple.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the company has announced its WWDC 2015, which will kick off on June 8.

With the title “The Epicenter of Change,” this year’s WWDC will probably introduce a brand new iOS 9 for the iPhone, including the latest OS X version that would run on the fresh Macbook lineup.

In the report, interested participants may register on Apple’s website, although there are some qualifications.

Enthusiasts who want to become delegates should either be member of the iOS Developer Program, the iOS Developer Enterprise Program, or the Mac Developer Program.

In the report, some of the portions of the event include sessions on Health and Fitness, the Apple Watch, Graphics and Games, Media, and others.

While there are no indications or rumors yet, the report mentioned that the long-rumored iPad Pro could finally be unveiled at the WWDC 2015. First rumored in 2013, the Apple device will allegedly be a hybrid of a laptop and tablet.

NBA Rookie of the Year 2015: Ranking the Best New Kids On the Block This Season

Andrew Wiggins, Wolves forward Reuters

Christian Post Report – Andrew Wiggins of the Minnesota Timberwolves dunking at the Rising Stars Game 2015

As the season winds down, there are a few favorites who are expected to be considered for the Rookie of the Year (ROY) award.

Ranking the best rookies in the NBA is not all about bursts, but consistency. Considering the past rookie of the years in the league, everything is about getting the job done night in and night out. And this year, there are a few who people think deserve to grab the ROY trophy.

According to the report by ESPN, the top three rookies whose names came up in an online poll include Andrew Wiggins of the Wolves, Nikola Mirotic of the Bulls, and Nerlens Noel of the Sixers.

Andrew Wiggins

Wiggins is good as advertised, and Minnesota did a good job getting him from Cleveland. The sensational rookie is considered by many as a budding two-way threat that can lift the Wolves back to playoff contention. Now that Kevin Garnett is back with Minnesota, Wiggins will definitely learn a lot.

Nikola Mirotic

Mirotic’s playing time has been limited for most of the season, and in the report by ESPN, he only averaged 20MPG in March when the Bulls were undermanned due to injuries. If Wiggins is considered as the next Garnett, Mirotic may be following the footsteps of Dirk Nowitzki with his sharp shooting from deep.

Nerlens Noel

Technically, Noel is not in his rookie year anymore. He did not play a single game last season due to injury. However, this year, Noel has been slowly becoming an athletic defensive threat in the paint. He may not win the ROY award, but his effort in the defensive end will earn him more minutes in the ever-rebuilding Sixers.

Miami Heat Misses Playoffs for the First Time Since 2008

Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers Reuters/Photo

Christian Post Report – It was a tragic experience for the Miami Heat to lose its best player going to the 2014-15 season. However, Heat president Pat Riley did a great job assembling a team that almost made the Playoffs.

Almost, but not quite.

In spite the optimism of Heat fans that Miami would return to the Playoffs like they usually do, the Heat were officially eliminated out of the picture after the Indiana Pacers beat the Washington Wizards.

Now, the Pacers are closer to the 8th and final seed to the playoffs with a win against the Grizzlies tonight.

As for the Heat, all is not lost. Several players will be returning from injury, including Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Josh McRoberts, who were all sidelined for the season with their respective injuries.

Still, it was a wonderful run for the Heat, who managed to come up with a tied season series with James and the Cavs this year.

And just when everyone thought Miami was done, it turned things around with its new acquisition Goran Dragic via trade.

“Guys have been true to their commitment, to the purity, to the effort,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said in a report by ESPN. “We haven’t necessarily gotten the results that we always wanted and sometimes there’s been some disappointment with games where we haven’t played well.”

Currently, reports state that Miami’s chances of getting a top 10 first round pick lie in its current win-loss record. If it manages to get the 10th worst record in the NBA, they have a chance to get another decent rookie.

‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’ Release Date Xbox One, PS4, PC News: Plot Details Revealed

Christian Post Report – The next installment of the “Black Ops” series of “Call of Duty” is coming to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, generally called next generation consoles. “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” may likely have a PC version as well, but it is not yet clear if versions for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 will be developed.

Call of Duty YOUTUBESCREENSHOT/ Call of Duty

Activision’s next Call of Duty from Treyarch will be Black Ops III as suggested by a teaser.

The story is set in “a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare,” as reported by Gamespot.

The game will have three modes: Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies.

Another report in Venture Capital Post specifies other game details that were said to be revealed in a recent teaser trailer that was released. One of the first reveals are possible game locations as indicated in actual map coordinates: a prison in Zurich, a school in Singapore and a location near the Nile River in Egypt.

Another detail the report speculated on was the possibility that “Black Ops 3” may likely allow players to “‘revisit’ sequences to previous events in the Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2.” This is possible because of the time travel and alternate history features of all games in the series.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” is developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. The first game of the series was released in 2010 and was set in the 1960s. The second game was released in 2012 and set in the 1980s and 2025.

Activision will be making a formal unveiling of the game on April 26.

‘The Flash’ Season 1 Spoilers: The Speedster Meets The Atom, Felicity Smoak Returns to Central City

Christian Post Report – This week’s showing of the hit superhero TV drama series “The Flash” Season 1 will see yet another exciting crossover of characters from the show and its sister DC TV series “Arrow.”

A report from IBTimes indicated that episode 18 titled “All Star Team Up” will see Starling City’s Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) opting to visit Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) with his girlfriend Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards).

Felicity and Barry in an all new episode of ‘The Flash’

Palmer and Smoak’s first order of business in Central City is to seek Barry and friends’ help regarding the completion of his A.T.O.M. exosuit.

S.T.A.R. Labs’ genius Cisco (Carlos Valdes) will be more than willing to take on the science project. However, certain events might halt the progress of the experiment for a bit because of an ongoing incident in Barry’s City.

A synopsis posted by The Futon Critic says that a new meta human named Brie Larvin (guest star Emily Kinney of AMC’s “The Walking Dead”) unleashes a swarm of robotic bees program to attack and kill her former co-workers including a certain associate, Dr. Tina McGee (guest star Amanda Pays).

Meanwhile, the issue about the death of Barry’s mother will also be tackled in tonight’s program. Duly advised by his adoptive father, Det. Joe (Jesse L. Martin), to behave normally, Barry is once again seen acting strange around his colleagues at S.T.A.R. Labs. This caught the attention of Cisco, who then asked Joe about the real issue.

The summary from TFC went on to specify that the group dinner with Barry, Felicity, Ray, Iris (Candice Patton) and Eddie (Rick Costnett) will turn out to be a disaster.

Find out more when “The Flash” airs this Tuesday, April 14 at 8 p.m. on The CW.

Cleveland Cavaliers News: LeBron, Irving Ready to Bring Cavs Back to Eastern Conference Finals

LeBron James Reuters/Photo

Christian Post Report – When LeBron James decided to return home to Cleveland after four consecutive finals appearances with the Heat, many believed the Cavs are already automatically in the Playoffs.

It did not come easy, but those speculations still came true.

Now that James has successfully led Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love to their first post-season appearance, it is all up to King James whether the team can take the pressure of winning.

Since the beginning of the season, there was a great need for Cleveland to dominate, and any wins decided by five points or less is not accepted by critics.

However, after a troublesome first couple of months, the Cavaliers slowly found their momentum with the acquisition of streak shooter J.R. Smith from New York.

In preparation for the playoffs, the Cavs have won seven of their last 10 games. What’s important is that two of those losses came when coach David Blatt decided to rest his top players.

However, it could be an alarming issue for Cavs fans how depending this team is to LBJ.

According to data by ESPN, James has played 69 games so far, where his team is 50-19. However, in games that he did not play, the Cavs are only 2-10.

The key to a successful run to the ECF and the Finals is a healthy LeBron James. While Irving, Smith, and Kevin Love can also step up, they have very limited post-season experience on their own.

Cleveland will face the Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Ironically, the Celtics have beaten the Cavs in their last two matches – although the second win may be attributed to the fact that coach Blatt decided to bench his four starters.
