Christian Post Report – Ryan Reynolds arriving at the industry screening of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, in Hollywood.

Actor Ryan Reynolds was hit by a car in Vancouver last Friday where he was shooting scenes for his upcoming superhero movie, “Deadpool.”

The Canadian actor was struck by a car as he was walking through the underground parking garage of his hotel April 10. The driver, who was reported to be a member of the paparazzi, fled the scene after the incident.

Reynolds, 38, was injured but pronounced in stable condition, Vancouver police told Fox News. Authorities are currently investigating Rik Fedcyk, the 52-year-old photographer responsible for the accident, revealing Reynolds and the man were involved in a confrontation earlier before the incident occurred.

Fedcyk, a resident of Richmond, British Columbia, was arrested and remained in police custody until Monday, when he was released on the condition he stay out of Vancouver.

There were no substantial injuries on Reynolds part apart from a sore knee and back, and he was cleared to return to work the following day. The Vancouver police have recommended that the actor file charges of intimidation against Fedcyk, who was identified after police pulled security video on the hit-and-run incident.

Investigating authorities, who seized the suspect’s car, are also considering Criminal Code and Motor Vehicle Act charges, as well as hit-and-run, and failure to remain at the scene of the crime.

Reynolds, who is currently in his hometown of Vancouver to film Marvel’s superhero film, “Deadpool,” was well enough to joke on his Twitter feed after the incident. A CBC Vancouver correspondent asked him via Twitter how he was doing, and requested for a return call with his statement.

Reynolds responded with a tweet saying he promised to call if CBC put “The Beachcombers,” a Canadian television comedy-drama series canceled in 1990 after 18 years, back on the air.

No information has yet been released on whether Reynolds will file charges against Fedcyk, who has been found to have been involved in a number of run-ins with other celebrities, including Pamela Anderson, Denise Richards, and Kellan Lutz. Lutz was also previously victim of a 2010 hit-and-run by Fedcyk.

Andrea Pirlo of Juventus.

Juventus reached the knockout stages by finishing as runners-up in Group A of the competition. They were grouped against Atletico Madrid, Olympiakos and Malmo, managing to win three games and drawing once in six matches in order to secure second place by a point.

When they reached the round-of-16, they switched to a higher gear by eliminating Borussia Dortmund.

The first leg of that match-up resulted in a 2-1 home win for Juventus, but they truly made their mark in the return leg at Signal-Iduna Park where they thrashed their German counterparts 3-0 to win 5-1 on aggregate.

Meanwhile, Monaco won Group C during the group stages as they beat out Bayer Leveruksen by one point for the top spot while Zenit St. Petersburg and Benfica were eliminated from the competition.

They had three wins, two draws and a loss, including an important 2-0 win over Zenit in their last game of the group stages to jump to the top of the table in Group C.

In the first knockout stage, they were given a tough task as they were head-to-head with English club Arsenal, with many considering the Gunners as a tall task for the Ligue 1 club.

However, Monaco had other plans as they thwarted Arsenal’s home game by winning 3-1. The London club tried to mount a comeback when the second leg was played, but Monaco’s lead in the 1st meeting proved to be vital as they advanced after a 3-3 aggregate score, with the Ligue 1 team advancing due to away goals rule.

With a seat in the semis up for grabs, expect Juventus and Monaco to do everything to get that advantage n the 1st leg.

‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Casts and Plot Revealed, Clues for ‘Captain America 3’ in Film

Avengers: Age of Ultron Cinematic Poster (Photo: Marvel Cinematic Universe/File)

Christian Post Report – Avengers: Age of Ultron will hit theaters on May 1, 2015

With the success of the “The Avengers” and the film being the third highest grossing movie of all time, director Joss Whedon faces a conundrum on how to match the cinematic success of the 2012 film.

What can fans expect from Avengers: Age of Ultron? (Warning: spoilers ahead)

According to a “trusted and proven source” of JoBlo, the film will have Tony Stark leading the team.

At the end of “Iron Man 3,” Stark destroyed all of his beloved Iron Man suits and removes the arc reactor from his chest, which could all imply that the billionaire playboy would want to continue living not as a superhero, but as a private citizen bringing Stark Industries into the realm of private global security.

The collapse of S.H.I.EL.D. at the end of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will allow Stark to call the shots, with the Stark Tower becoming the main hub for global security and the new headquarters of the team. The plot somehow leads to the speculation that this move has something to do with the impending civil war in “Captain America 3.”

In an interview with Empire about “Captain America 3,” Robert Downey Jr., who reprises his role as Tony Stark reveals that, “The clues are in ‘Ultron’ about where we might find (Tony) next.”

The cast of Avengers includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, James Spader (as Ultron’s voice), Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, and Don Cheadle, among others.

Directed by Joss Whedon, Christian Post Report – Avengers: Age of Ultron will hit theaters on May 1, 2015.

Christian Post Report – Android Lollipop Update on Nexus 5

As Google Nexus 5 owners are giving feedback that they are already receiving the latest Android 5.1 update for Lollipop, there is no word yet on when other Nexus devices will receive the much-awaited update that is said to fix numerous bugs and issues that Lollipop users earlier complained about.

Google announced the Android 5.1 update in March with the company saying that it will only be initially available to selected units. While it was expected that Google will prioritize its own Nexus devices, the time frame for the roll out of the updates was not clear early on.

A report in Venture Capital Post also confirmed that the first update received by selected users on Nexus 5 last month was different from what Nexus 5 owners are receiving now. The current version is said to bring SIM card improvements, which was not present in the first build.

Google also confirmed early on that the update will be rolled out to Nexus 6 owners as well. The time frame and the type of update has not been confirmed. It will be up to Nexus 6 owners to confirm when they have started receiving the update.

It was also reported that Nexus 4, 7 and 9 devices are next in the line-up for the updates but again, Google was mum about the time frame.

The Android 5.1 update is reported to bring a lot of improvements in the Lollipop experience. Firstly, it is supposed to address some of the bugs and issues that Android 5.0 Lollipop users have raised. The update is said to bring: improvements in battery life; increased protection and security through a new locking system that prevents the device from being used when stolen or lost; ability to place high definition voice calls between devices running the new OS, and SIM card improvements.

Update version 5.1.1 however is said to additionally address the memory leak problem encountered by earlier Lollipop users.

Christian Post Report – Suzanne Somers and Tony Dovolani pose with Goofy and Donald Duck for Disney Night, on Dancing with the Stars

It was a magical time at “Dancing With the Stars” last Monday as the show celebrated “Disney Night” for week 5 of the competition. Pairs performed routines to beloved songs from iconic Disney films and at the end of the night, three pairs delivered stunning performances, while one pair was sent home.

Here’s how the couples fared in week 5 of ‘Dancing With the Stars’:

Suzanne Somers and Tony Dovolani
Dance: Jazz to “He’s a Tramp” from ‘Lady and the Tramp’
Score: 28 (out of 40)
After being told that they’re in jeopardy, the pair started off the night with a jazz number. Unfortunately, Suzanne’s heel got caught in her dress and she had a few missteps. “It’s such a pity you had that hiccup because that was your best dance to date,” said Len Goodman.

Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson
Dance: Quickstep to “Step in Time” from ‘Mary Poppins’
Score: 24
The pair was advised to work on their quickstep as Carrie Ann Inaba told Robert, “You were so out of step.” But Len felt differently and praised the “Shark Tank” boss, saying “It was full of razzle dazzle. You come out, you entertain, well done.”

Patti LaBelle and Artem Chigvintsev
Dance: Waltz to “When You Wish Upon a Star” from ‘Pinocchio’
Score: 27
Despite suffering a serious knee injury, Patti put her game face on and promised her partner that she would never let him down. Bruno Tonioli said, “You managed to sprinkle your own little stardust around the room. Julianne Hough was impressed with the legendary singer and told her, “Your attitude is unbelievable.”

Willow Shields and Mark Ballas
Dance: Foxtrot to “Alice’s Theme” from ‘Alice in Wonderland’
Score: 34
“You’re getting better and better,” Bruno told Willow, and he advised her to take ballet classes if she has the time. The dance was so playful that Julianne exclaimed, “Am I still at Coachella? I’m so confused.”

Chris Soules and Witney Carson
Dance: Quickstep to “Zero to Hero” from ‘Hercules’
Score: 27
Soules took last week’s critiques rather hard, and his frustration was evident during their rehearsal package, where he sustained a calf injury. Len told him, “Bearing [your injury] in mind, I thought you did fine.”

Sharna Burgess and Noah Galloway
Dance: Foxtrot to “A Whole New World” from ‘Aladdin’
Score: 28
This week showed the army vet struggling with his limitations, but Sharna helped him to focus and deliver a solid performance. “You’ve captured the hearts of everyone here,” said Carrie Ann. “Looking at you made us all believe in magic,” said Bruno.

Riker Lynch and Allison Holker
Dance: Paso Doble to “He’s a Pirate” from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’
Score: 38
After Riker expressed his disappointment at finishing in fourth place last week, he stunned the judges with an impressive performance as he channeled Captain Jack Sparrow in his paso doble. “This was fast, this was furious, well done,” said Len. “You killed it! Best, best ever!” said Carrie Ann.

Rumer Willis and Valentin Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Samba to “Poor Unfortunate Souls” from ‘The Little Mermaid’
Score: 39
Rumer got in touch with her inner villain as she danced as Ursula in their samba, which captured the judges’ hearts. “That was sickly creative!” said Carrie Ann. “To me, that was the best dance of the night,” said Julianne. “You are a fantastic dancer,” said Len.

Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough
Dance: Jazz to “Love is an Open Door” from ‘Frozen’
Score: 38
The pair delivered a flawless performance and Len quipped, “There was nothing ‘Frozen’ about that. That was like a warm hug on a cold evening.” Bruno said that the dance was “perfect in every way.”

In the end, Suzanne Somers was eliminated from the competition. “I think all women my age should go on hormones,” she joked. Somers was also grateful to her partner as she said, “I just want to say something about Tony Dovolani. He is a gentleman and he gave me everything he had. I so loved this.”

“Dancing With the Stars” airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.

‘Teen Wolf’ Season 5 News, Plot Spoilers: Teaser Shows Beacon Hills’ Trio of Villainous Doctors

Teen Wolf Wikimedia Commons/Image

Christian Post Report – Fans of the hit supernatural teen TV drama series “Teen Wolf” are already getting pumped up for the show’s slated return with its brand new fifth season.

A report from MTV offers new details about what to expect in the show when it comes back to the small screens in a form of a very short teaser clip.

The video, which lasts about 20 seconds, features the statement “The Doctors will see you now.” Dr. Deaton (Seth Gilliams) can also be heard in the background saying “The rules have changed.”

Scott (Tyler Posey) and company will be “thrust in a brand new battle” involving a mysterious group of individuals skilled in the use of “scalpels, cotton balls, and tongue depressors” called “The Doctors.”

Shown in the footage are flashes of scenes involving the use of “needles, liquid-filled torture chambers and a certain perverse power drill that could cut through a coconut without much trouble.” The horror even escalates in the final seconds of the video when it shows a boy being tortured by “The Doctors.”

The shots also feature Stiles (Dylan O’ Brien), Lydia (Holland Roden), Maila (Shelley Hennig) and Kira (Arden Cho) who appeared to be in panic over something.

The connection between “science and supernatural” will be featured heavily in the upcoming season, as what series creator Jeff Davis previously said.

Aside from that, there’s also the issue of transition from teenage to adulthood which more often than not means losing the people we love along the way.

“There’s this strange thing: For some reason when you graduate high school, you leave all your best friends — why do you do that?” Davis said. “There’s a moment in the first episode where Stiles asks that question aloud. He says, ‘If we’ve met the best people in our lives, why aren’t we trying to stay with them? Why do we try and go our separate ways?'”

“Teen Wolf” Season 5 is slated to debut this June on MTV.

Kim Kardashian carries daughter North West who was baptized in Jerusalem on April 13.

Kim Kardashian West and her rap mogul husband Kanye West, were asked to be ambassadors of Jerusalem while visiting the city to get their daughter North West baptized Monday.

The 22-month-old toddler traveled to Armenia with her parents for five days before reaching Jerusalem, where she was baptized in the Cathedral of Saint James in the Armenian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, according to The Jerusalem Post.

The celebrity couple also reportedly met with the mayor of Jerusalem, Mayor Nir Barkat. Aside from toasting to Jerusalem, Barkat spoke to The Jerusalem Post about asking the Wests “to be ambassadors of Jerusalem and to spread the message around the world that Jerusalem is open and everyone is wanted here.”

The church where North was baptized is the principal church of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem, according to the The Jerusalem Post. While in attendance, the publication described the famous parents’ attire, which included Kanye wearing white and Kim dressed in a long peach and beige frock and North a beige outfit.

Khloé Kardashian, the youngest Kardashian sister, was on hand as North’s godmother and dressed in black. Sources close to the situation reportedly spoke about the family’s dream to visit Jerusalem.

“They flew [into Jerusalem] especially for [the baptism],” a close family source told PEOPLE. “They knew it was close to Armenia and it was always a dream to come to Jerusalem. There’s an Armenian quarter, and they did it at this old beautiful church. It was epic. So beautiful.”

The family was expected to leave for Jordan on Tuesday, according to TMZ reports.

Archbishop Aris Shirvanian, an Armenian church official, spoke about the family’s celebrity status, which resulted in numerous cameras following them as they prepared for North’s baptism ceremony.

“Kim Kardashian’s daughter will be baptized and become a Christian officially and a member of the Armenian church,” Shirvanian told The Associated Press before the baptism took place. “All I know is that she’s a famous personality. I don’t know her in person. In any case she is welcome with her family.”

Bible Not Available in 57% of World Languages; Most Americans Believe the Bible Is Available in Every Language

Egyptian Christian (Photo: Reuters/Amr Abdallah Dalsh)

An Egyptian Christian reads the Bible during Sunday mass at Saint Mary Church in the heavily populated area of Imbaba in Cairo, June 17, 2012.

Christian Post Report – The American Bible Society’s recently released State of the Bible survey found that a strong majority of Americans think the Bible is available in all of the world’s languages, despite the fact that 57 percent of world languages are still in need of completed Bible translations.

The State of the Bible survey, which was conducted by the Barna Group and surveyed 2,000 Americans, found that 72 percent of Americans believe the Gospel is available in all of the world’s languages. However, the report states that only 43 percent of languages actually have Bible translations available.

Out of the world’s 6,901 different languages, 1,859 (31 percent) languages don’t have a Bible translation processes started. Meanwhile, the report states that 2,195 (26 percent) languages are in the process of having Scripture translated but do not yet have completed Scripture.

  • Bob Creson
Bob Creson is the president and CEO of Wycliffe Bible Translators USA, and the author of “The Finish Line: Stories of Hope Through Bible Translation.”

Bob Creson, the president of Wycliffe Bible Translators, one of the world’s largest Bible translation agencies, told The Christian Post that although 57 percent of the world’s languages still don’t have completed translations, the Bible is being translated into more languages and at a faster rate than ever before.

He continued: “[2,195] is the highest number in history. There is more work going on than ever before. One of the ways I usually talk about it is that people have more access to Scripture than any other time in history in their first language. It gives people the best opportunity to respond to the Good News message.”

Creson said that within the past six months, the Gospel has been made available in 27 new languages that represent communities totalling over 3 million people.

“We are not the only organization doing Bible translations; there are a number of others. What we try to do here in Orlando, and try to do twice a year, is we celebrate all the New Testaments and full Bibles that have come into completion in the last six months,” Creson explained. “We celebrated, last Thursday, 27 of those and that represented almost 3 million people that now have access in their first language to the Good News message. Every six months, it is getting larger and larger and larger, the number of completions.”

With Wycliffe holding a vision of having the Bible translation process started in each of the world’s languages by the year 2025, Creson is optimistic that the remaining 1,859 languages with no translations yet started will begin to be tackled within the next 10 years.

“Every year now there are 130 to 160 new translations that are started,” Creson added. “That is why I say that within the next 10 years something will be going on statistically in all of these communities.”

The survey, which has +/- 2 margin of error, also found that 98 percent of Americans believe that people should have access to the Bible. But with seven in 10 Americans believing that the Bible is already available in all of the world’s languages, Creson said he sees an opportunity to educate the American public.

“One way to look at it, if you are a Bible translation agency like we are and the American Bible Society, you can be discouraged by that. But, that just shows you the opportunity that we have to continue to educate the Christian public about the need for Bible translation,” Creson said. “One of the big strengths of the American Bible Society is their geographic reach to be able to educate people on that issue. We partner with ABS on a number of different and important translation projects. I am very glad to see them doing this because they have a great reach to be able to help people understand that we are not there yet.”

“I just look at that there is an opportunity to invite people to be a part of something that is pretty historic because we really do believe that, for those 1,900 languages, within the next 10 years there will be something going on in every one of those communities in terms of Bible translations.”

‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’ News: Teaser Trailer Reveals Plot Details

Call of Duty YOUTUBESCREENSHOT/ Call of Duty

Christian Post Report – Activision’s next Call of Duty from Treyarch will be Black Ops III as suggested by a teaser.

The next installment of the “Black Ops” series of “Call of Duty” is coming to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, generally called next generation consoles. “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” may likely have a PC version as well, but it is not yet clear if versions for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 will be developed.

The story is set in “a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare,” as reported by Gamespot.

The game will have three modes: Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies.

Another report in Venture Capital Post specifies other game details that were said to be revealed in a recent teaser trailer that was released. One of the first reveals are possible game locations as indicated in actual map coordinates: a prison in Zurich, a school in Singapore and a location near the Nile River in Egypt.

Another detail the report speculated on was the possibility that “Black Ops 3” may likely allow players to “‘revisit’ sequences to previous events in the Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2.” This is possible because of the time travel and alternate history features of all games in the series.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” is developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. The first game of the series was released in 2010 and was set in the 1960s. The second game was released in 2012 and set in the 1980s and 2025.

Activision will be making a formal unveiling of the game on April 26.

‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ News: Release Date Moved to February 2016?

Kingdom Hearts 3 Reuters/File

Christian Post Report – Kingdom Hearts 3 recurring character Sora

Another Square Enix action role-playing game may experience a delay in its release date. This time, it may be the long-awaited “Kingdom Hearts 3,” the development of which was announced as early as 2013 with an estimated release date some time in 2015.

Since no official announcement has been made by the game developer and publisher Square Enix, rumors have been going around about the fate of the game’s release. One report in Venture Capital Post mentions a rumor that it will skip 2015 and will be released in February 2016. The report also cites one possible reason why the game may be delayed. This may be largely due to the fact that Square Enix is currently focusing it development efforts in another long-awaited game “Final Fantasy 15” which they promised would be released in 2015. The report estimates that fans will hear some news about “Kingdom Hearts 3” by the third quarter of 2015.

In terms of technicalities, the report also mentions that the game’s shift from one type of game engine (Luminous) to a new game engine (Unreal Engine 4) is another possible reason for the delay.

“We’re using Unreal Engine 4 right now, and that really has changed the way we make the game,” game designer Tai Yasue said.

“Kingdom Hearts 3” is the eighth installment in the “Kingdom Hearts” series. It is also the first game in the series to be made for next generation consoles namely the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. It will also be made available for the PC.

This installment will follow the main protagonist, Sora, who will be assisted by Riku, Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey and other familiar Square Enix and Disney characters. The story will continue from “Dream Drop Distance” where Sora, Donald Duck and Goofy need to search for seven guardians of light and the “Key to Return Hearts.” King Mickey and Riku on the other hand are tasked to search for the previous Keyblade wielders in order to stop the main antagonist, Master Xenahort, from balancing the light and darkness.
