Christian Post Report – Manny Pacquiao with his wife Jinkee

Manny Pacquiao is currently busy preparing for his historic fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. which will take place in Las Vegas on May 2, but the Filipino boxer took time out of his busy training schedule to speak at the non-denominational Shepherd Church Westside in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 12, about his rocky past and how he’s a changed man.

At the service, Pastor Dudley Rutherford showed clips from a documentary featuring the fighter drinking and partying. These images, according to Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee, brought back painful memories of the couple’s difficult time.

“Personally, I don’t like it now, to see that video again,” he told Pastor Rutherford. “I know how to gamble, I know how to drink, a lot of girls, womanizing, like that. You know I accept that because that’s the old Manny.”

The boxer admitted that at one point, he let fame go to his head, and that’s when their family problems started.

He also revealed that Jinkee almost left him because of his womanizing and that it came to a point when they stopped speaking to each other and their respective lawyers have started communicating with one another.

Pacquiao said that his born-again Christian faith was the reason why he was able to save his relationship with his wife.

“I’m happy that the Lord changed my life,” said Pacquiao. And though he gets emotional when watching videos of the “old Manny”, he says he hopes that it will inspire people to change for the better. The boxer also expressed his hopes to bring the “lost people back to the Lord.”

Theo James Turns Down ‘Underworld’ Role for ‘Allegiant’ Films

Shailene Woodley and Theo James Reuters/File

Christian Post Report – Cast members Shailene Woodley and Theo James pose at the premiere of ”Divergent” in Los Angeles, California, March 18, 2014. The movie opens in the U.S. on March 2014

Following the success of “Divergent” and “Insurgent,” Theo James was highly expected to launch a series of “Underworld” films. However, according to latest updates, the “Insurgent” star turned down offers for the vampire films due to scheduling conflicts with the two remaining “Allegiant” movies.

It was in September last year that Hollywood Reporter made the announcement that James would have a bigger role in the “Underworld” film.

“James, who played a vampire named David in 2013′ ‘Underworld: Awakening,’ will be the central character of the new film, which is not a reboot but rather an expansion of the existing universe,” they reported.

James in a recent interview with Digital Spy, said that he will not be returning for the upcoming Underworld film. however.

“No, they have something in the works, but my involvement in it is … I think it’s going to be very difficult to do that with these [Divergent] movies, and my other commitments,” he said.

James’ Divergent co-star Shailene Woodley, on the other hand, is busy filming other films aside from the “Allegiant” film series. The “Fault in Our Stars” actress was on location with her “Snowden” co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Todd Lieberman, “Snowden” producer, told in an interview with Fashion & Style that Woodley’s new movie will have cool special effects.

“I don’t want to promise too much, but I can say that the things that we’ve talked about have been very cool …There’s going to be some really mind-blowing visuals,” he explained.

Woodley also starred in a coming-of-age indie film, “White Bird in a Blizzard,” where the actress received praises for her performance.

The actress also received her Trailblazer Award at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards where she gave a moving inspirational speech that encourages everyone to become a trailblazer – an innovator, a forger of a new path.
James and Woodley recently starred alongside each other at “Insurgent,” the second installment of the “Allegiant” franchise.

Deitrick Haddon and Dominique.

Christian Post Report – Deitrick Haddon is expecting his first son this summer and he recently opened up about why he does not expect the future Haddon to pursue a career in the gospel music industry.

Haddon, the 41-year-old gospel singer-songwriter and minister, took to social media to announce that he was expecting his first son next summer after having two girls. The singer recently spoke to Oxygen about what he expects to teach his future son who will be named Deitrick Haddon, Jr.

“I’m not putting the pressure on him to be a singer or TV star. He doesn’t have to do any of those things,” Haddon told Oxygen. “I’ll tell him that whatever he does, he has to be great. I’m going to push him to be great by giving him an education and laying down a foundation, and then I’m going to watch him grow.”

However, if the next generation’s Deitrick Haddon did decide to follow in his footsteps, the minister and musician is prepared to warn him against it.

“I’ll say ‘get outta here! Be a doctor or a lawyer! Don’t do what your daddy did,'” Haddon told Oxygen. “Okay, if he tells me that he was called to it, that he wakes up and goes to sleep thinking about it, then I’ll surrender and help him get a good head start. But, gospel music is not an easy career choice.”

Earlier this month Deitrick’s wife, Dominique, also took to social media to express how God answered her family’s prayers for a son while thanking those who have shown their support.

“Well, the Lord heard my prayers for a son to bless my hubby with and HE yet listened and gave us the desire of our hearts! Most importantly, I’m glad he’s growing normally and very active,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thankful for this new experience of being a mother of a son! Excited my girls will have a little brother to grow up with!”

Haddon, the Stellar Award-winning “Male Vocalist of the Year,” shocked his wife Dominique Haddon when he went public with the announcement of the upcoming baby boy backstage at the Stellar Awards last month. Dominique took to social media to confirm that she was expecting.

“As some of you may know, the Haddon family is expanding,” she wrote. “We’re expecting our 3rd child, God willing, this summer! We don’t know the sex of the child, but the baby is healthy and doing well.”

The Toughest Challenge for Christians in the Carribean Is ‘Preparing Them for Persecution,’ Says WEA Official Emerson Boyce

Emerson Boyce Talks Preparing Christians for Persecution in the Carribean

Emerson Boyce Talks Preparing Christians for Persecution in the Carribean

Christian Post Report – NEW YORK — Rev. Emerson Boyce, the general secretary of the Evangelical Association of the Caribbean, discussed living conditions in the region and how he’s working to prepare Christians in the island nations for future persecution that believers are witnessing throughout the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Boyce, whose organization is one of seven regional alliances of the World Evangelical Alliance, travels all around the region planning events and serving as a member of the board of directors with Operation Mobilization and Prison Fellowship in Trinidad and Tobago, and described what he views as one of the biggest hurdles for Caribbean Christians to overcome during an interview with CP Voice.

“The toughest challenge for Christianity in the region is preparing for persecution, and discipling members to live the Christ life.” Boyce explained. “But we really need to disciple all members more, and better than we do, in order for them to share their faith.”

“Why I say persecution is that, when you cast your eyes on the landscape of the world, you realize that persecution is no longer being localized. It is becoming very widespread. And for the church in the Caribbean, we’ve never experienced persecution at the level of which it is now ongoing in the world.”

Boyce further noted that preparing Christians for imminent persecution includes letting them know that tribulation will come even though they’ve put their faith in Christ, and described how he uses the Bible to illustrate his point.

“For us in the Caribbean, for some reason, we have thought that once you come to faith in Christ your next stop on the train is heaven. But now we are learning that there’s something that happens between coming to faith in Christ [and heaven],” he added.

Boyce, an ordained minister, has been working in full-time ministry in the Caribbean for more than 35 years, and has been the EAC’s executive director for the Commission on Evangelism and Missions since 1999. In January 2012 he took office as EAC’s secretary general/CEO.

Rev. Emerson Boyce, the General Secretary of the Evangelical Association of the Caribbean speaking at the International Leadership Forum 2015 in Honduras which took place from Feb. 9-13.

He also served as a missionary in St. Lucia from 1976 to 1980, which gave him the experience needed to help him build the foundation for the work he does today.

“It has helped me tremendously — in that I was able, since I am from Barbados and studied in Trinidad and met my wife in Trinidad, so there’s a Barbadian-Trinidadian connection serving as missionaries,” he said. “So the whole idea of inter-relational, and more or less, linking with different ethnic groups and behaviors has really impacted my life in order for me to serve at this level.”

Boyce was also excited to announce an upcoming event, the bi-annual General Assembly, where all the members of the Evangelical Association of the Caribbean will be present. It will be used to reflect on the work the organization has done in the previous two years and will cast a vision for future ventures through 2020.

The EAC General Assembly will be held in Trinidad and Tobago from Oct. 20-23.

Singer Carrie Underwood arrives at the 55th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, California February 10, 2013

Christian Post Report – Carrie Underwood is breaking from her history of singing mother-daughter songs now that she has welcomed a son.

The country music star and her husband Mike Fisher welcomed their first child, Isaiah Michael, on Feb. 27. With previous hits about mother/daughter relationships such as “Mama’s Song,” “All-American Girl,” and “Forever Changed,” Underwood acknowledged that she has never had a song pertain to a mother/son connection.

“I just kind of feel a little sad ’cause all my songs are about having girls,” Underwood explained to Unreality TV.

Consequent to the birth of her son, Underwood plans on penning a special song about boys and their mothers in new music that is expected to appear on her forthcoming fifth studio album.

“Like, little boy baby Fisher’s got nothin’,” she joked. “Even ‘Forever Changed,’ which is one of my favorite songs, is definitely like a mother/daughter kind of a song, so… I’m gonna have to get on that.”

Also, “Mama’s Song,” which Underwood co-wrote in honor of her mother ahead of the singer’s 2010 marriage to Fisher, has a “whole new meaning” to the former “American Idol” winner ever since she welcomed her son. As for the new album, Underwood has hinted that she is “definitely” planning on heading back to the recording studio and releasing new music later this year, according to BBC Radio 2.

Meanwhile, in addition to songs about women, Underwood is well-known for her strongly Christian-themed songs, including the most recent hit, “Something in the Water.” The faithful ballad includes conversion and baptism motifs while also encouraging listeners to keep the faith. Earlier in her career, Underwood’s hit “Jesus Take the Wheel” soared on song charts, earning the singer two Grammy Awards for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song.

In a past interview, Underwood dismissed any “risk” behind blending her faith with country music.

“After I released ‘Jesus Take the Wheel,’ people started saying, ‘Oh, it’s kind of risky. You’re coming out with a religious song,'” the 32-singer told Esquire magazine. “And I was thinking, ‘Really?’ I grew up in Oklahoma, I always had a close relationship with God. I never thought it was risky in the least. If anything, I thought it was the safest thing I could do.”

‘Game of Thrones’ Parody Cartoon ‘Lil Thrones’ Revealed by George R.R. Martin (VIDEO)

Geore R. R. Martin (Photo: Reuters/George Lucas)

Christian Post Report – George R. R. Martin.

George R.R. Martin presented a “Game of Thrones” parody animation of the HBO series, “Lil Thrones” on “Conan” Friday. The author George R.R. Martin was on the TBS late night talk show and showed the Saturday morning cartoon-style comedy.

Martin and host Conan O’Brien promoted the premiere of season five of the show with an NSFW animation presented in a Saturday morning cartoon-like parody of HBO’s award winning fantasy miniseries, which in turn is based on Martin’s epic fantasy series beginning with “A Song of Ice and Fire.”

The TBS-produced video, which went viral after being posted over the weekend, showed “Game of Thrones” animated characters, complete with murders, nudity, and talk of incest and sex, with Martin himself introducing the faux “brand new cartoon series for kids.”

The “Conan” web exclusive summarizes the storyline of the last four seasons of the show with catchy kids’ theme music playing in the background of the lively animation:

“Lil Thrones, Lil Thrones, we’re having so much fun. Lil Thrones, Lil Thrones … by killing everyone!”

Most of the show’s major characters make their appearance singing joyfully about the HBO show’s violent content, acting out King Joffrey’s poisoning, Ned Stark’s beheading – with Stark’s head on a spike continuing to sing, the Red Wedding, musical mention of Cersei and Jaime’s Lannister’s incest, Daenerys Targaryen’s face singed off by a dragon, missing appendages that Theon Grayjoy and the Unsullied have in common, an animated singing Tyrion Lannister, and a cameo by Hodor with a one-word repetitive song.

The not-so-kid friendly animated “GoT” version condensed all the numerous characters, plots and subplots into a 30-minute cartoon serving to make the show clearer for non-followers.

iPhone 7 Release Date, Specs, Latest News

Christian Post Report – An iPhone 7 concept

Six months after the release of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, avid Apple users are already asking when the iPhone 7 will hit the market. Will Apple release an even better smartphone this year? With the success of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, will Apple release an iPhone 7 instead of an iPhone 6s?

It is not surprising to hear rumors about the upcoming release of a new smartphone. According to the Macworld website, they predict that Apple will launch iPhone 7, along with two other smartphone versions this September, as is the company’s tradition.

The smartphone will again have two versions – a 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and a 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus, the report predicted. These variations in sizes were popular among users as some will still prefer to have a smaller unit.

According to Economic Daily News, iPhone 7 could have a 3D Display. This is in relation to the reports that TPK, Apple supply chain partner, currently has a “naked eye 3D screen” project. This means that iPhone 7 can have a 3D screen that can be viewed by the naked eye. Rumors are circulating that iPhone 7 will have the best iPhone camera so far. Fireball’s John Gruber claimed in his podcast that iPhone 7 will have dual cameras that can capture “DSLR-like” images.

The podcast also says that iPhone 7 cameras will also fare better in low-lighting conditions. With its processor supplied by Samsung, Apple’s A9 processor will use a 14-nanometer chips that are smaller, but more efficient and powerful. It seems that iPhone 7 will take the cake with its rumored improved RAM. AppleInsider claims that Apple is increasing the RAM from 1GB to 2GB.

Battery life will have minimal improvements, as longer battery life will mean a bigger and bulkier iPhone. John Ive addressed this issue previously.

“Talking of performance, when the issue of the frequent need to recharge the iPhone is raised, [Ive] answers that it’s because it’s so light and thin that we use it so much and therefore deplete the battery. With a bigger battery it would be heavier, more cumbersome, less “compelling,'” the Financial Times wrote.

‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Season 5 Reunion Show Part 2 Recap: Kim Richards Makes Her Sister Kyle Cry

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Bravotv/ The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Christian Post Report – Kyle Richards is outraged at Kim’s accusations on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion show

The drama and insults continue to fly during last week’s episode of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” The Bravo show’s reunion episode continues as Kim Richards makes her sister cry, Brandi Glanville and Lisa Rinna argue, and Eileen Davidson tries to keep her cool with Brandi.

Eileen said that before joining the show, she thought Brandi was funny—until she threw a glass of wine at her. Andy Cohen asks Brandi why she threw the wine, and she said that perhaps she wasn’t thinking when she did that. Then, Brandi changes her story and says that she threw the wine because of Eileen having an affair with a married man while being married. Eileen says she retracts her acceptance of Brandi’s apology, now that she knows the real reason why Brandi threw the wine at her.

Meanwhile, Kim claims that their other sister, Kathy, was not happy with the way that Kyle was treating her on the show. Kyle immediately broke down in tears and told her sister that she was being “so mean.” Kyle said that now she’s worried that her nieces and nephews might treat her differently because of Kim’s accusations.

Lisa Rinna tried to get Kim to say what she thinks her husband, Harry Hamlin, did wrong. Kim refused to give an answer and instead said that she won’t reveal the truth because she “wouldn’t do that to [Lisa] or her children.” The other housewives now think that Kim doesn’t really have anything to say about Harry.

Later, Kim tried to apologize to Eileen for her “beast” comments in Amsterdam, and Eileen accepted her apology.

Brandi and Lisa went at it again as Brandi said that Lisa smashing a glass in Amsterdam was akin to “assault and battery.” She also told Lisa to go back to selling Depends and even insulted her for having the same hairstyle for 20 years.

“Yeah my hairstyle hasn’t changed in years,” Lisa sarcastically agreed before cursing at Brandi.

The final installment of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” reunion show airs on Tuesday. April 14 at 8 p.m. on Bravo.

‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Season 7: Episode 21 Recap ‘Chasing Nay-Nay’

Real Housewives of Atlanta Bravotv/ The Real Housewives of Atlanta

Christian Post Report – Nene Leakes walks out on the ladies on The Real Housewives of Atlanta

Last Sunday on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” the housewives are back in Atlanta fresh from their peacemaking trip to the Philippines, and the ladies got together to give back to their community.

Phaedra, inspired by her Filipino tour guide — a widow who struggles to support her five children — and her own husband’s absence thanks to an eight-year prison sentence, says that she wants to give back to the community. She decides to do something to encourage young boys to be better men and good fathers in the future, so she hosts an event called Save Our Sons. Almost all of the ladies showed up to help, except Kandi, who had an appointment with her fertility doctor. Even NeNe took some time out of her busy schedule to help out.

At the event, Phaedra gives a speech and she tells everyone, “I am only a vessel, and I thank God he gave me a vision to do this.”

Meanwhile, the rest of the ladies are in the kitchen and preparing lunch for the audience. As the housewives prepare plates, Claudia calls out NeNe for her exit from the counselling session with Dr. Jeff.

NeNe is having none of it and tells Claudia that the video message that they recorded for her was so fake.

“In my opinion, you all have your own personal issues,” NeNe says. “Everybody here has done wrong. It was unfair, in my opinion, to point fingers as if someone was the captain of the ship for doing wrong when all of you guys have had your hands in dirt.”

NeNe just wants to focus at the task, but Claudia and Cynthia continue to hound her about the failed counselling session. NeNe tries to maintain her cool and finally lets Claudia have it—and they end up arguing loud enough for the guests to hear.

“You gon’ have to back up …You’re not important,” said NeNe. “You’re not a friend of mine. I don’t care if I walk out on you.” And NeNe walks out of the kitchen.

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.

‘Orange Is the New Black’ Shows Season 3 Trailer, Will Premiere on June 12

Orange Is the New Black (Photo: REUTERS/Eric Thayer)

Christian Post Report – Cast members Laura Prepon and Taylor Schilling attend the season two premiere of “Orange is the New Black” in New York May 15, 2014.

Now that the trailer for the “Orange Is the New Black” is out, fans can expect the better, feistier, and stronger series as the ladies from the Litchfield Penitentiary are bolder than ever. The Netflix original series will once again feature compelling scenes riddled with wit and humor.

The award-winning series, now its third season, will follow through Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren’s (Uzo Aduba) alien and human encounter that turns out to be something “sexual.”

But Crazy Eyes was quick to say, “It’s not just sex. It’s love. It’s two people connecting with four other people and aliens.”

Another surprising twist shown in the season 3 trailer of OITNB is the possibility of a supposed “dead” character making a surprising comeback.

It can be seen during the entrance of Stella (Ruby Rose). Fans did a double take as a vague figure resembling Vee is seen standing behind Stella.

Vee (Lorraine Toussaint) was a compelling addition in season two as the pseudo mama to Taystee (Danielle Brooks). Vee’s character had terrible clashes with Red (Kate Mulgrew) and other notable characters. At season 2, after she escaped from prison, Vee was left for dead at the side of the road. Could she be still alive even after Miss Rose (Barbara Rosenblat) ran over her?

When quizzed by E! News about the “comeback,” Toussaint her character is most likely dead after what she went through, but if anyone could survive, it would be Vee.

“I believe she’s dead. She’s dead. And she’s such a survivor, it wouldn’t surprise me – I wouldn’t be surprised if she wasn’t dead because I don’t have much control over her … she’s pretty dead … but it is Vee.”

“OITNB” will see return performances by Taylor Schilling (Piper Chapman), Michael Harney (Sam Healy), Kate Mulgrew (Galina ‘Red’ Reznikov), Natasha Lyonne (Nicky Nichols), Uzo Aduba (Suzanne ‘Crazy Eyes’ Warren), and Daniella Brooks (Tasha ‘Taystee’ Jefferson).

“Orange Is the New Black” premiers June 12 on Netflix.
