Christian Post Report – The Masters 2015 golf tournament enters its 4th round on Sunday with fans expecting a climax to see who will get hold of the green jacket this year. Jordan Spieth remains at the top of the leaderboard at the end of the third round with a record setting 16 under par, however, England’s Justin Rose has made things interesting with a surge late on in Day 3 to go 12 under par, meaning everything is still to play for. Coverage of Day 4 of The Masters 2015 can be watched on TV, with the live broadcast on The Golf Channel starting at 9.30 a.m. ET, and CBS at 2 p.m. ET. Tee Off time for the final pairing of Spieth and Rose is at 2.50 p.m. ET, and the day’s golf can also be watched online through free live stream (details below).

Jordan Spieth has had a record setting three days at The Masters 2015, but on the third day he did have a few anxious moments, especially towards the final few holes. But despite a little wobble, Spieth enters Day 4 with a four shot lead over his nearest rival, and with just 18 holes remaining, he is a big favorite to take the green jacket.

Spieth’s 2 under par round of 70 on Saturday ensured that he broke the 54-hole Masters scoring record; his 16 under par of 500 besting Tiger Wood’s 15 under par set years ago.

Rose has made the final day interesting, shooting a 5 under par 67 on Day 3 to draw him just back into contention and ensuring that there will still be a degree of pressure on Spieth going into the final round.

Phil Mickelson also put on a good show in Day 3, ensuring that he enters the final round with 11 under par, and arguably is also still in the running. Mickelson will be in the next to last grouping with Charley Hoffman for Day 4.

Justin Verlander Injury Latest News 2015: Verlander on Disabled List After Spring Training Injury

Christian Post Report – For the first time in his professional career, Justin Verlander has been placed on the disabled list. Verlander strained his triceps in his final Sprint Training start. The Detroit Tigers were hopeful he would be healthy enough to pitch on April 12, but that was not to be. He will be eligible to return April 13.

To replace his spot on the roster, the Tigers will turn to left hander Kyle Lobstein, who never really had a shot to make the big league roster and was assigned to the Triple A Toledo Mud Hens. Lobstein will make the start on April 12 against the Cleveland Indians. Lobstein spent 2014 in Toledo recording a record of 9-11with a 4.07 ERA and 1.479 WHIP.

for the first time in his career Justin Verlander will go on the disabled list

“It’s disappointing,” Verlander told Mlive.com. “Obviously, everything I’m doing was to try to get ready for Sunday. The days just kind of stack up. I needed to be able to pitch on Tuesday to be able to do that. I just wasn’t ready.”

Now the Tigers have to find a way to get Verlander back into the rotations once he is 100 percent. They will have run through their starting five (four) once this Friday when Alfredo Simon takes the mound in Cleveland. That would leave David Price tentatively set to start Saturday with Lobstein set to go Sunday. The next series is a three-day affair in Pittsburgh.

Tigers’ manager Brad Ausmus said “I can’t tell you where we’re going to slot him in. After Sunday, we can kinda slot him in wherever we want, based on where he is physically and how he feels.”

Detroit Tigers MLB 2015 News, Rumors: Pitcher Joe Nathan on the Disabled List, Who is Left in the Bullpen?

Christian Post Report – The Detroit Tigers’ bullpen got a little thinner yesterday. On the same day that the team placed starter Justin Verlander on the disabled list and recalled Kyle Lobstein from Triple A Toledo to take his place, the team also announced the closer Joe Nathan would make a trip to the 15-day disabled list as well. Blaine Hardy has been brought up to fill a spot in the bullpen. Joakim Soria has been named the interim closer, but the team expects Nathan to get healthy and return to that role.

Joe Nathan continues to struggle, what will the Detroit Tigers do?

The bullpen is the weakest part of the Tigers 2015 roster. This move leaves the Tigers without a solid 8th inning guy, which is compounded by the fact that they do not have a designated 7th inning guy. However, while some view that as a negative, it gives Manager Brad Ausmus an opportunity to run his bullpen more like famed Tigers skipper Sparky Anderson. Ausmus has a week or so to use guys in multiple roles and to see exactly what he has in the pen and who can be counted on down the road.

Even though Nathan earned his first save of the year on Opening Day, it seems he has been battling arm soreness for a bit now.

“From what he said and from how his face looked, you could tell it was bothering him quite a bit,” Ausmus said. “From the time I’ve known him, he’s never said I can’t throw, and today, in not so many words, he said, ‘I probably shouldn’t throw today,’ which tells me it was really bothering him.”

Recalling Hardy now gives the Tigers three left-handed relievers which is kind of rare. Tom Gorzelanny and Ian Krol are the other two, and Gorzelanny is a veteran brought in over the off season while Krol is the last piece left over from the Doug Fister trade. That seems to indicate Ausmus wants options in his pen for the time being.

NASCAR 2015 News: All-Star Race Changes Announced – More Laps Added

Christian Post Report – NASCAR has announced changes to its All-Star race, which is an annual event held each May at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. This will be the 31st installment of the Sprint All Star race and its format has been altered significantly.

All Star Race NASCAR

NASCAR has announced rules and format changes for its annual All Star Race

The race will now be a 110-lap affair. The first four segments will be 25 laps a piece and the final leg will be a 10 lap shootout. The race will feature a minimum of 20 drivers. 17 of those drivers are now set, with two spots being reserved for winner of the Sprint Showdown segment, a race that is held directly before the All-Star race, and a final fan vote will set the field.

Race winners from the 2014-15 Sprint Cup series are eligible for the race as long as all past NASCAR Sprint Cup Champions and previous winners of the All Star race itself. This is a slight change in the rules as previous races had been run with drivers accomplishing those things in the past 10 years.

As it stands right now AJ Allmendinger, Aric Almirola, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Jamie McMurray, Ryan Newman, and Tony Stewart are eligible for the race.

This is a non-points event with the winner to earn a prize of $1 million dollars. Over the years it has featured some of the best racing on the Sprint Cup circuit as drivers put their cars in situations that would not normally do while racing for points.

In a statement, NASCAR Executive Vice President Steve O’Donnell talked about the changes.

“These updates were made to ensure that our fans have every opportunity to see the best drivers in one of our crown jewel events and give them even more on-track action,” he said. “Expanding this field and adding laps delivers that to our fans, raising the competition level and ensuring that this race continues to be the biggest all-star event in all of sports.”

Manchester United vs Manchester City Live Stream, Start Time: Watch English Premier League Soccer Online

Manchester City Reuters / Phil Noble

Christian Post Report – It is one of the most exciting derbies in English football as Manchester United host neighbors Manchester City at Old Trafford in the English Premier League on Sunday. Kick off is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET and the game can be watched online through live stream (details below).

The race for the Premier League title may almost be over already with Chelsea having a comfortable lead heading into the final stages of the season, but the race for UEFA Champions League spots are still up for grabs, and there is a fierce battle for top four spots.

United and City are currently only separated by one point, with United holding third place with 62 points, and City in fourth place, meaning they currently are occupying the final qualifying spot for next year’s top European competition. Although if they finish fourth, City will have a more difficult route, having to take part in earlier Champions League games just to get through to the main group stages.

The Red Devils have been impressive lately, winning five straight league games and only losing once in their last 10.

They showed their strength in a big game against Liverpool where they won 2-1 behind a brace from Juan Mata.

The win gave them breathing space against their rivals in the Champions League spot but a win at Aston Villa propelled them to even greater heights.

In the 3-1 victory at home, Ander Herrera played the hero as he opened the scoring for the Red Devils.

Wayne Rooney also scored before Herrera completed his brace as he scored in injury time to get maximum points.

A win over City would see them create even more space between themselves and City and even start to challenge Arsenal for second on the table.

Meanwhile, City have been dropping games since their 5-0 thrashing of Newcastle United.

Following that win, they lost to Liverpool, Burnley and Crystal Palace.

The upset loss to Palace cost them their automatic spot in the Champions League, and another loss to United may put them on pace to miss out on next year’s elite competition.

When United and City met earlier this season, City won a close 1-0 match at the Etihad Stadium thanks to Sergio Aguero’s goal in the 63rd minute.

Christian Post Report – The China Grand Prix 2015 takes place on Sunday with the Formula 1 racing season heating up with each race. Lewis Hamilton will again be on pole, however, he will face stiff competition from teammate Nico Rosberg and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel. The China Grand Prix 2015 has a start time of 2 a.m. ET (7 a.m. BST, 2 p.m. local time). The race can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

Mercedes Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton of Britain drives during the first practice session of the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi November 21, 2014.

Although Hamilton will be favorite to win today, he has admitted that there is a serious threat from the Ferrari team after their performance at the last race in Malaysia.

But a repeat from Vettel here would be a massive feat, considering Hamilton’s pole means he joins Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Juan Manuel Fangio as the only drivers to score five or more poles at one track.

Hamilton has said ahead of the race: “It’s not over by any means. The Ferraris are very good. They are not that far behind pace-wise so they could still be a threat with their long-run pace.
I have to make sure I do lots of work to make sure I finish where I want to.”

He added, “There is a long, long race ahead of us, so I am just trying to keep myself calm. They are maybe able to go a lap longer and Nico is going to be very quick in the race as well.”

Mercedes F1 boss, Toto Wolff, has also weighed in on Ferrari, saying they are a “real threat.”

Paddy Lowe, the team’s technical boss has also said, “Our competitors have strong pace and we will have our work cut out.”

The team will be looking to be more tactically on the edge after Ferrari outplayed them in Malaysia by preserving their tires better than Mercedes.
