American Horror Story Hotel Season 5 Release Date, Cast News: Welcomes Back Kathy Bates for New Season

Christian Post Report – FX’s hit horror anthology TV series “American Horror Story” welcomes back one of its cast member in its upcoming fifth season subtitled “Hotel.”

A report from The New Zealand Herald said that the two-time AHS star Kathy Bates has been confirmed to return in a yet to be known role.

Announcing the news is none other than show creator Ryan Murphy who took to his social media this week.

“Kathy Bates is running the Hotel. #AHSSeason5” Murphy’s Twitter post reads.

Although it hasn’t yet been disclosed as to what the 66-year-old award-winning star will be in AHS: Hotel, speculations drawn out from Murphy’s tweet indicated that Bates could be the hotel’s manager.

Bates has appeared back in “American Horror Story: Coven” as well as on “American Horror Story: Freak Show” where she played the character of a bearded lady named Ethel Darling.

Speaking to Us Weekly on their March 17 news edition, Bates expressed how open she is to the idea of returning to the FX series.

“I’m keeping my fingers crossed,” Bates said.

As with the news about the pop icon Lady Gaga joining the AHS family, Bates added that she would “love to work” with the singer.

“I’m a big fan of hers, my jaw dropped when I saw her on the Oscars,” she meanwhile told E! News. “I’ve just decided I have to put her picture up in front of the treadmill.”

Other than Bates, and Lady Gaga, the new series will also feature the acts of Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, and Cheyenne Jackson in various major roles.

Filming for “American Horror Story: Hotel” is slated to commence this summer and will premiere on television October 2015.

NASCAR 2015 News: All-Star Race Changes Announced – More Laps Added

Christian Post Report – NASCAR has announced changes to its All-Star race, which is an annual event held each May at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. This will be the 31st installment of the Sprint All Star race and its format has been altered significantly.

NASCAR has announced rules and format changes for its annual All Star Race

The race will now be a 110-lap affair. The first four segments will be 25 laps a piece and the final leg will be a 10 lap shootout. The race will feature a minimum of 20 drivers. 17 of those drivers are now set, with two spots being reserved for winner of the Sprint Showdown segment, a race that is held directly before the All-Star race, and a final fan vote will set the field.

Race winners from the 2014-15 Sprint Cup series are eligible for the race as long as all past NASCAR Sprint Cup Champions and previous winners of the All Star race itself. This is a slight change in the rules as previous races had been run with drivers accomplishing those things in the past 10 years.

As it stands right now AJ Allmendinger, Aric Almirola, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Jamie McMurray, Ryan Newman, and Tony Stewart are eligible for the race.

This is a non-points event with the winner to earn a prize of $1 million dollars. Over the years it has featured some of the best racing on the Sprint Cup circuit as drivers put their cars in situations that would not normally do while racing for points.

In a statement, NASCAR Executive Vice President Steve O’Donnell talked about the changes.

“These updates were made to ensure that our fans have every opportunity to see the best drivers in one of our crown jewel events and give them even more on-track action,” he said. “Expanding this field and adding laps delivers that to our fans, raising the competition level and ensuring that this race continues to be the biggest all-star event in all of sports.”

Christian Post Report – Teresa Giudice still has a few months left on her prison sentence, but her fans can look forward to her return on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” after she’s released—if the reality star is interested in Bravo’s offer.

“Bravo wants Teresa back” for season 7 of the franchise, says a source from Us Weekly. The source also claims that Giudice’s sister in law, Melissa Gorga will most likely return to the show along with other newcomers.

Sources tell the magazine that Bravo producers are scouting for fresh talent, including Tracy Lynn Johnson, “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro’s wife Lisa Valastro, and Erica Levy, who’s married to talk show host Geraldo Rivera.

Giudice entered prison on January 5 after she and her husband, Joe, were charged with a 39-count indictment of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud, bank fraud and bankruptcy fraud in October 2014.

Upon completion of Giudice’s 15-month sentence, Joe is expected to serve 41 months in prison.

In the meantime, the network may spotlight other members of the Giudice family. Joe is reportedly in talks with Bravo to star in a reality series about his new life as he cares for daughters Gia, 14, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 9, and Audriana, 5, while his wife is in prison.

Joe himself confirmed this during a four-hour interview with Us Weekly at his home in New Jersey.

“We met,” said Joe to the magazine. “Now it’s something for our attorneys to figure out.” A source from the magazine says that production on Joe’s show could begin as early as May.

It was also reported last year that Gia might be featured in a new reality show which focuses on her girl group, 3KT, as they try to find success in the music industry.

Christian Post Report – Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” the popular game series created by Scott Cawthon. Fans will be delighted at the news, although no release date has been confirmed as yet.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the feature adaptation will be produced by Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment as well as Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions.

The game takes place in Freddy’s Fazbear’s Pizza, where an animatronic animal band performs for kids by day and goes on murderous rampages by night. Players take on the role of a security guard, who is assigned the much-dreaded night shift. The goal of the game is to stay alive — the player has to stay in the guard’s room and monitor the robotic attackers on the security camera.

The sequels to “Five Nights at Freddy’s” go even further, as the second game is actually a prequel which takes place around the same time as “The Bite of 87”. The third game, which was released less than a month ago, takes place into the future, after Freddy’s is retooled into a horror attraction based on the horrifying events of the previous two games.

Movies based on video games tend to be a hit or miss, but if Warner Bros. does a great job on the first “Five Nights at Freddy’s” film, there’s a possibility that this could turn into a trilogy.

“We’re looking forward to working with Scott to make an insane, terrifying, and weirdly adorable movie,” said Grahame-Smith to The Hollywood Reporter.

“The story really lends itself to being a movie, and it taps into a large unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to,” said Cawthon.

Christian Post Report – Cristiano Ronaldo, who received criticisms after Real Madrid’s loss to Atletico Madrid, still gets the trust of Coach Carlo Ancelotti as he looks to repeat his hat trick-highlighted performance against Deportivo in the first round.

Real Madrid look to extend their winning streak to three games as they host Eibar at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in the Spanish La Liga on Saturday. The game will kick off at 10 a.m. ET and can be watched online through live stream (details below).

Madrid are currently second in the La Liga, four points behind leaders Barcelona with only a handful of games remaining in their season.

Following their 2-1 loss to the Catalan team, Madrid responded with a big 9-1 thrashing of Granada.

In that home win, Cristiano Ronaldo scored five goals to dominate the game and show that he is still arguably the best player in the world.

After four days, they traveled to meet Rayo Vallecano and Ronaldo scored in the 68th minute to give Madrid the lead.

James Rodriguez then went on to double the advantage in the 73rd minute to secure the victory and take home three points.

Rodriguez increased his goal tally to nine this season, while Ronaldo has 37 goals in only 27 appearances in the league.

Meanwhile, Eibar are sitting in 14th place in the league and are trying to avoid dropping to the relegation zone.

They recently broke their 11 game winless run with a 1-0 over Malaga.

Prior to the victory, Eibar only managed to get two points from that stretch of 11 games with draws against Cordoba and Granada.

Even worse is that they have had difficulty scoring goals as they have only five goals in that time frame.

With only a few games left in their schedule, they will need to rack up points as they are only six points away from being dropped to the second division next year.

In their first meeting earlier in the season, Madrid dominated the game and got goals from Rodriguez, Ronaldo, and Karim Benzema.

Madrid dominated the possession as they held the ball 58% of the time, squeezing out 10 shots with three on target.

Christian Post Report – Rumors have been circulating online over Apple’s reported update on the iPad mini, with photos of what is believed to be the iPad mini 4 leaked on the Internet.

Reuters claims Sharp has all but stopped producing iPad Retina displays.

Apple may be preparing to unleash a major upgrade on its iPad mini line with a new iPad mini 4, and images of the device’s aluminum case have been circulating online from an apparently leaked photograph.

Appearing to be thinner that its predecessors, the iPad mini 4 is likely to be more like an iPad Air 2 than the previous models. Based on photos of the leaked casing, the device will have a single row speaker grill on the bottom on both sides of the Lightning port, and it also dispenses with the mute/lock switch, just like Apple’s latest Air.

Other big changes that set it apart from the current gen iPad mini is its chassis which reveals a big antenna cutout at its top, with a SIM slot on its right side, the arrangement making the 7.9-inch tablet appear to be a cellular version of the iPad mini 3.

The iPad mini 4 will be a device a majority of iPad mini users may be anticipating given the lukewarm reception the iPad mini 3 received when it made its debut in October last year after no major changes really set it apart from the iPad mini 2 apart from Touch ID and another color option in gold.

With the leaked photos of the alleged iPad mini 4 shell, users may be expecting the next gen device to match the specs of the iPad Air 3 at the very least.

Last year, the iPad mini 2 received some a generous upgrade with performance improvements via its new and faster 64-bit chip A8X processor and an 8MP camera with 1080 video recording capabilities.

The iPad mini 4 may receive the same improvements, and speculations run to an A9 processor with at least 2GB of memory similar to the iPad Air 2.

Detailed information about the iPad mini 4 remains scarce as it is still early in the release cycle, but users can expect the device to make its debut by October this year at the latest with a starting price point of $399.

Christian Post Report – The Detroit Lions are not very good when it comes to the NFL draft. Over a 10-year period ESPN has ranked them the worst at drafting, and it wasn’t even close.

In a report on the 2002 through 2012 drafts, ESPN looked at what a players did over their first four years in the draft (using a metric from pro football reference and comparing those players with players drafted in the same position in the draft) and then ranked the 32 NFL teams on how they faired. Detroit was the only team with a negative rating at -6.2 with the Oakland Raiders coming in second worst with a rating of 2.

The period is question should not surprise anyone. It was during this period that the Lions were so bad at drafting that they assembled the only NFL roster to ever go 0-16 in 2008. It was during the season they fired their General Manager Matt Millen. However, after promising a exhaustive search they simply hired his assistant. He has not faired well in the draft either.

While the Lions have whiffed on a number of high round draft picks, the two worst of the Millen era were arguably WR Charles Rogers (the second overall pick in 2003) and WR Mike Williams (the tenth overall pick in 2005). The worst picks of the Mayhew regime seem to be WR Titus Young (44th overall pick of the 2011 draft) who recently plead guilty to felony charges, is out of the league and headed to prison. Mayhew traded back into the first round to take RB Jahvid Best with the 30th overall pick in the 2010 draft. Best had a history of concussions in College and five years later is out of football.

It should surprise no one that along with the Lions, and the Raiders, the Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and St. Louis Rams were among the worst teams at drafting during this period. All of these franchises share the common trait of constant disappointment on the field.

Christian Post Report – Rumors are once again circulating that 2011 critically-acclaimed movie “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” may get a sequel after all. These started when Knopf Publishers recently announced that they are publishing a new novel called “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” as part of the “Millennium” novel series that started with the first novel “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” which was what the movie was based on.

“Spider’s Web” is said to be the fourth novel in the series. The first three novels were originally authored by Stieg Larsson, but the fourth one was authored by David Lagercrantz. All novels feature one character Lisbeth Salander, who is a female hacker.

Sony Pictures, according to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, has the rights to make film adaptations of all the “Millennium” books which include the second and third books: “The Girl who Played with Fire” and “The Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest.” Inside sources also say that Sony also has rights to the upcoming fourth novel.

A sequel that was supposed to be based on the second novel was originally said to come out in 2013, but for some reason, it has been delayed. The report mentions that given the upcoming release of the fourth novel, there are talks that Sony may be considering making a sequel based on the second and third novels and a third sequel on the fourth novel.

Amy Pascal, who used to head Sony when they came out with the first film, is said to be resistant to this new idea, because it was reported that the studio has already paid “a seven figure sum” for a script by screenwriter Steven Zaillian based on the second novel. Sony’s original plan for the sequel also meant reducing the film’s budget so that the studio can cut their losses if in case the film does not succeed in the box office. The 2011 movie was made with a $90 million budget and only earned $233 million worldwide.

If the studio pushes through with the sequel on a much tighter budget, it is likely to mean that the original film’s stars Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig may not be able to reprise their roles, according to another report on NME.

‘Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege’ Release Date News: Closed Alpha Ongoing, Set for October 16

Christian Post Report – Under yet another media franchise of author Tom Clancy called “Rainbow Six,” will a new massively multiplayer online game entitled “Rainbow Six Siege” be released this coming October 16, 2015. The game is being developed by Ubisoft, as with one other Tom Clancy game, “The Division” and “Assassin’s Creed Victory.”

Prior to the game’s release, however, Ubisoft announced the conduct of a closed alpha from April 7 to April 13. In a blog in Worth Playing, Ubisoft Montreal called on interested gamers who may want to participate. The results of the closed alpha will feed into what the development is doing to improve the gameplay experience, most especially the “siege gameplay and innovative destruction technology.”

The game’s siege feature is described as “a new style of assault where enemies have the means to transform their environments into modern strongholds while Rainbow Six teams lead the assault to breach the enemy’s position.” Using Ubisoft Montreal’s Realblast engine, the game is said to “incorporate procedural destruction that is realistic and unscripted, meaning the environment reacts authentically, distinctively and dynamically,” depending on what type of bullets are used or the amount of explosives used. The blog further details how the closed alpha will run.

In another report in The Christian Times, Ubisoft indicated the areas that they would want to get “critical feedback” on during the alpha: test the core gameplay loops, test the server infrastructure which is also important for a good online multiplayer experience and general feedback on the game’s problem areas or issues.

In the Worth Playing piece, there was also a mention of going to the game’s official website and signing up for the waiting list for the beta test of the console and the PC versions, which is scheduled sometime later in the year.

“Rainbow Six” is a media franchise established by author Tom Clancy, after the publication of his novel “Rainbow Six,” which was about a fictional international counter-terrorist unit called “Rainbow.” The game is a first-person shooter video game.

Christian Post Report – The ladies of “The Real Housewives of New York” are back, and on Tuesday, fans tuned in to see LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Kristen Taekman, Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson, Sonja Morgan, newcomer Dorinda Medley, and Bethenny Frankel.

Bethenny is back, and she reveals that she’s been living in hotels since her split from Jason Hoppy. She has a new apartment, but it’s undergoing renovation right now. Bethenny and her dog Cookie check into a hotel on Central Park South, and she says that she’s “the richest homeless person in New York City” thanks to her ongoing divorce proceedings.

Kristen and Josh appear to be doing better this time around. After last season where fans got to see their issues which almost led to divorce, it seems that they have mended their relationship and are happier. Their child, Kingsley, is out of her leg braces and doing well too.

The ladies have a group dinner, and Carole, Kristen, and Heather are first to arrive. Carole tells them that she’s on a new diet which allows her to have only cucumbers, vodka, and butter. LuAnn arrives next, and she tells them that she moved into a new house in the Hamptons and is throwing a party. She tells them that she’s inviting Sonja, even though they never got along well.

“I really want to help Sonja because I feel like she has problems,” said LuAnn.

Later, Ramona meets with Sonja for lunch, and Ramona tells her all about what’s happening in her marriage. She said that after being with Mario for 25 years, now, it feels strange not to be with him. However, Sonja circles the conversation back to herself, and Ramona is outraged.

“I can’t believe it, she’s making it all about her!” said Ramona in the confessional.

Ramona changes the subject and asks Sonja if she’s going to LuAnn’s party, but Sonja says that she’s not so sure about that since the last time everyone got together, the ladies ganged up on her.

Meanwhile, Carole is meeting with the editor of her upcoming book. She’s been procrastinating and has been avoiding her calls. “I was supposed to turn in 80,000 words six months ago, and right now, I have a table of contents,” she confides.

Ramona goes for a drive with her realtor to find a new office space, and suddenly, she has a meltdown in the car.

She says that she wants to have another baby, but “I don’t even have an apartment, I don’t have anywhere to live for the daughter that I do have … I want a new life,” she sobs.

‘The Real Housewives of New York’ airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
