Christian Post Report – On Sunday’s episode of “The Good Wife,” a reporter gets her hands on Will and Alicia’s emails from last week’s hacking, and Alicia’s team scrambles to save her reputation, while Diane tackles a case that pits her sympathies toward gay marriage against the rights of religious freedom.

In “Loser Edit,” Diane joins her new client R.D. and his conservative lawyer friends Justin and Max in a mock trial to offer up her liberal viewpoint. They are considering funding a case and want to know if it’s worth it. They present her with this: A baker in California was asked to bake a cake for a gay wedding, but she refused, citing religious objections. The gay couple sued for discrimination, and R.D. is trying to decide whether or not to take up the woman’s appeal. He wants Diane to represent the plaintiff in the mock trial so they can practice their defense. The debate is civil, but R.D. says that she can do better than that.

Later while she’s driving, Diane hears on the radio that R.D. decided to fund the case after all. The real case involves a wedding planner in Idaho, but it’s the same case as the hypothetical baker’s case presented to her.

Diane comes out swinging and hires Tom Keppler to play Nils Anderson, the plaintiff. R.D. is upset at this development, because Keppler is his gay nephew. R.D. thinks that Diane is being too personal, but Diane argues that when it comes to sensitive issues, it’s better to see who gets hit hardest. Diane ends up winning the mock trial, but R.D. decides he is still going to fund the wedding planner’s appeal.

Meanwhile, Alicia’s emails have been leaked to a young reporter, Petra Moritz. She’s crafting a post-election puff piece on Alicia, however, the contents of the emails, which appears as though Will and Alicia are having an affair, make it hard for Alicia to say that she’s worthy of the public’s trust.

Petra includes the emails in her piece. Then, she organizes an interview with Alicia. When Petra asks about the emails, Eli excuses Alicia from the interview to tell her that Petra has the hacked emails.

Eli and Alicia speak with Petra’s boss, Charles, and he agrees to hold the piece until he’s had both sides of the story.

Petra tips Gawker off to the hacked emails, and that makes Charles decide to move forward with the story. Eli offers Petra an interview with Peter, and she takes him up on the offer.

Later, Peter and Alicia discuss the situation over wine, and the two appear to reach an understanding.

Peter gives Petra her interview, and he tells her that she has been scooped. But the reporter is far from done when her piece ends up in the news, but this time, she says that she spoke with the Chicago election monitor and determined that some of the voting machines registered votes for Frank Prady as votes for Alicia Florrick.

“The Good Wife” airs on Sundays at 9/8c on CBS.

‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ News: Season 7 Episode 20 Recap ‘From Zen to Sin’

Christian Post Report – Last Sunday on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” the unexpected happened as Phaedra Parks and Kenya Moore made up, and the housewives had a blast as they went on a horseback ride to a volcano.

After two years of feuding, Kenya Moore and Phaedra Parks make up and share a laugh on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

Claudia arranges a horseback ride to the top of Taal Volcano for everybody, and the ladies appear to enjoy it as they took in the scenery, marveling at the volcano which is right in the middle of a lake. They also hit a few golf balls before getting back on the horses.

When they get to the bottom of a volcano, Phaedra has an emotional moment with her tour guide, who told her on the way down that her husband passed away a few years ago and that she has five children to support. Phaedra gives her some money and tells her through a translator that she doesn’t want her to give up, and that her story has blessed her.

Back at the hotel, Claudia hosts a pajama party, and everyone notices that Kenya and Phaedra are missing. Claudia tells them that the two are having a heart-to-heart talk.

At their one-on-one, Kenya tells Phaedra that she has a tendency to interrupt, so she wants to give her the floor to say what she’s feeling.

The two had their differences ever since Apollo lied about Kenya propositioning him. Though he already admitted that he lied, Phaedra had a hard time trusting Kenya.

“Hurt people do things to hurt other people sometimes,” said Phaedra. “I can’t change the past. I can only move forward. I’m ready to move forward, I’ve been ready.”

Kenya tells her that she was hurt by the name calling and that it hurt her reputation.

“You didn’t even treat me like a human being,” said Kenya. “I have never seen him in L.A. I have never propositioned him. I have never crossed a line with him, nor have I ever wanted to. I just need you to believe that.”

“Your slate is clear with me,” Phaedra sobs.

After the air clears, they agree to work on their relationship when they return to Atlanta. Phaedra invites Kenya to go to church with her when they get back. The two ends their conversation with a prayer and a hug.

The next day, over their last meal in the Philippines, the ladies applaud Phaedra and Kenya for doing the work. They all agree that Dr. Jeff really made an impact as for once, there’s peace among the housewives at last.

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 20 Results, Elimination News: Week 4 Performances and Scores Recap ‘Most Memorable Year’

Christian Post Report – Monday night’s episode of “Dancing With the Stars” was an emotional one for the celebrity contestants as they recalled their most memorable year ever. While some told stories about their most triumphant moments, others talked about the time when they struggled with bullying, emotional pain, and challenges that they managed to overcome. The judges and audience members were moved to tears at some of the performances, and one pair almost got a perfect score at the end of the night, while another had to leave the competition for good.

Derek Hough and Nastia Liukin
Dance: Argentine Tango
Score: 36 (out of 40)

Nastia picked 2008 as her most memorable year as she won her Olympic gold in gymnastics that time. Their tango to “Variations on Dark Eyes”—which is the same song she performed to at the Olympics—was praised by the judges, and Julianne Hough told her, “You nailed it in 2008, and you nailed it tonight.” The pair also got the first 10 of the season from Bruno Tonioli.

Michael Sam and Peta Murgatroyd on Dancing with the Stars

Michael Sam and Peta Murgatroyd
Dance: Rumba
Score: 30

2014 was a memorable year for Michael, but not for happy reasons: he came out to his father, who denounced him to the media. Their rumba to “I’m Not My Father’s Son” left Michael in tears. “You should be very proud of yourself. It takes guts to make a stand in the world,” an emotional Bruno said.

Riker Lynch and Allison Holker
Dance: Tango
Score: 34

Riker said that 2014 was memorable for him because that’s when his band, R5, really took off and got on the radio. “I see improvement and it’s fantastic to watch,” said Carrie Ann Inaba of their tango.

Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson
Dance: Waltz
Score:34

Robert said that 2006 was when his mother passed away of cancer. Though it was a sad year, their waltz was classy and happy, and a fitting tribute to his mother, who loved watching the show. Len Goodman said that it was his best dance. “You have the best technique and footwork of all the guys,” said Julianne.

Chris Soules and Witney Carson
Dance: Rumba
Score: 27

Chris picked 2014 as his most memorable year—when he got picked as the new “Bachelor” and found his fiancée, Whitney Bischoff. Though Bruno said that their performance was genuine and honest, Julianne pointed out that they need to have more chemistry.

Patti LaBelle and Artem Chigvintsev
Dance: Jazz
Score: 30

Patti danced to honor 1973, the year her son was born. Their jazz number was likened to a cup of cappuccino by Len, who said that it was “light and fluffy, fun and full of rhythm.” “That was out of control!” Carrie Ann said.

Rumer Willis and Valentin Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Waltz
Score: 35

Rumer talked about how growing up with famous parents had its benefits, but it also put her in the spotlight as tabloids made fun of her looks. She said that her dance to honor 2014 was for her sister, who went to rehab at the time, and for all those who were bullied for the way they looked. “You’re dancing for every girl,” said Julianne. Bruno said that the dance was a reflection of who Rumer is: “beautiful, powerful, and unique.”

Suzanne Somers and Tony Dovolani
Dance: Foxtrot
Score: 28

Suzanne said that her most memorable year was 1977, which was the year when she got a role in ‘Three’s Company’ and her life changed. They included a short skit of the sitcom in their foxtrot, and Julianne said that Suzanne was “totally in your element.”

Willow Shields and Mark Ballas
Dance: Contemporary
Score: 39

Willow said that 2011 was her most memorable year because that was when she was cast in ‘The Hunger Games’. Their contemporary dance got raves from the judges and earned them three perfect 10s. “It is great to see somebody so young doing so well,” said Bruno. “That was fantastic,” said Len.

Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess
Dance: Contemporary
Score: 32

Noah’s most memorable year was 2005, when, during his second deployment to Iraq, he didn’t see a trip wire on the road and it blew up. He woke up nine days later to discover that he lost an arm and a leg. He said that he got depressed, but eventually he accepted it and was able to move on. The judges were moved to tears, and Julianne said, “You astonish us every single week.” Bruno said, “You want a super hero, there he is.”

In the end, Michael Sam was eliminated. “Please give my partner a hand, she was amazing,” said Michael of Peta. “I had a great time, I had an awesome time experience.”

“Dancing With the Stars” airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.

The photo was allegedly sold to the magazine for $75,000. According to Radar Online, authorities at the Federal Corrections Institute in Danbury, Connecticut “recently confiscated the cellphone of a female inmate.”

“She had smuggled it in,” the source said “She had candid photos of Teresa all around the prison. Doing yoga, exercising, and more. The woman was trying to get photos out to sell them.”

The insider reveals that not only was the inmate unable to secure the deal with media outlets, but now, “That inmate has been disciplined and moved to another prison.”

Meanwhile, another source tells the website that Giudice is fearing for her safety when prison guards allegedly uncovered a serious threat against her.

“Teresa has confided in people that she has grave concerns for her security,” the insider told Radar. “In the last couple of weeks, prison authorities have determined that a plane has been flying over the track to take photos of her.”

The source said that prison officials have asked the reality star to change her routine and “not to go out to the track to avoid this happening.”

Giudice is serving 15 months in jail for bank fraud. She is expected to be released in February 2016.

The San Diego Padres Pull Off Another Blockbuster Trade

San Diego Padres MLB/San Diego Padres

Christian Post Report – The San Diego Padres remain active on the trade market looking to improve themselves on the field

The San Diego Padres have been very active during the offseason over turning their roster and looking for way to get better on the field. That continued as the MLB was getting ready to officially launch the 2015 regular season yesterday when the team pulled off another big trade with the Atlanta Braves. The Padres were the last club this year to submit its 25 man active roster for he regular season and know the reason why has been discovered.

First the details of the trade:

San Diego gets Closer Craig Kimbrel and OF Melvin Upton Jr.

Atlanta gets pitching prospect Matt Wisler, minor league outfielder Jordan Paroubeck, and outfielders Cameron Maybin and Carlos Quentin, along with the 41st pick in the MLB draft to be held this Summer.

This is the side effects of two teams that are over turning their roster and rebuilding. Maybin and Quentin were purchased out of the San Diego outfield after the team traded for Matt Kemp, Justin Upton, and Wil Myers.

Kimbrel was entering the second year of a $42 million our year deal and Melvin Upton Jr. has a little north of $46 million and three years left on his deal. Obviously this was cost cutting move for the Braves as they today designated Quentin for assignment and will look to trade him and whatever amount of his 8million dollar salary they can get another team to pick up.

It is being reported by multiple sources that Quentin was only included in the deal to balance out the money and because the Padres simply had too many outfielders. When healthy Quentin is a above average bat with middle of the lineup skills. However his defense in the outfield is a big minus but he might fit a lot better with an American League club.

Can Ryan Broyles Become an Impact Player for the Detroit Lions?

Ryan Broyles reuters.com

Christian Post Report – The Detroit Lions spent a second round pick on Ryan Broyles in 2012, but injuries have limited his effectiveness ever since

Ryan Broyles for most NFL fans is a forgotten player. A second round draft pick (54th overall) in the 2012 NFL draft that has never made much of an impact. He has lost time due to injuries to both legs. However, in Detroit in a receiver corps that features Calvin Johnson and now Golden Tate, Broyles is one the players on the Lions roster who is most talked about. That may be because of General Manger Martin Mayhew’s Matt Millen like infinity for drafting wide receivers and tight ends that never live up to their draft status.

Now days Broyles is the fifth wide out on a team that dresses four. He has shown some flashes of greatness including a particularly good preseason campaign a year ago. He led the Lions in pre-season catches and then was basically unheard from during the regular season.

Mlive.comn reports that Head Coach Jim Caldwell has been watching tape this off season and they reported the coach saying, “I think he did show obviously some promises, particularly during the preseason,” Caldwell said. “He and Kellen (Moore) hooked up for quite a few. … He made quite a few plays over that time. Hopefully he’ll continue to improve, and find a way to work his way out on the field and do something for us.”

Mlive also reported statements made by Lions Offensive Coordinator Joe Lombardi.

“Listen, when the guy’s been in there, he’s been productive. And we’re excited to see where he is now after a full season of not coming back from an injury. He’s had a full year to be healthy, and we’re excited to see what he does here in the offseason and heading into camp,” he said.

If Broyles can return to the field and stay healthy he gives the Lions offense another weapon that can help stretch defense. If he cannot it is another story of a Mayhew high round draft pick that flamed well before his time.

The Los Angeles Angels Have Created a Public Relations Mess With Josh Hamilton Statement

Los Angeles Angels MLB, Los Angeles Angels

Christian Post Report – The Los Angeles Angels have created a PR nightmare with recent comments about Josh Hamilton

The Los Angeles Angels have made a complete mess of the Josh Hamilton situation. They now seem very callous in their treatment of one of their star players and rather obviously would have preferred he be suspended and they not be on the hook for his 2015 salary. That is an OK idea to have privately but creates large problems when the team than has to deal with its fans, the player himself, and the other 24 men on the roster.

CJ Wilson had some comments about the ongoing saga of Hamilton that were reported on NBC’s Hardball talk via the Orange County Register. In those comments Wilson said that the team’s statement about his teammate were, “kind of disheartening.” Wilson went on to say, “The statement had multiple phases. I’m just going to focus on the last part of it, which was, ‘We are focused on Josh and his family.’ That’s the part that I agree with.”

Wilson, Hector Santiago and Huston Street have all been public supporters of Hamilton.

The curious tone from the Angels front office makes little sense. They may have had private hopes of a suspension that would ease some of their payroll for 2015.

The Angels entered into a the contract with Hamilton knowing the risks. His battle with addiction has been well documented and this is not the first time he has slipped. Knowing that going into the contract that should have been very prepared for the very real likelihood it would happen again.

Gold medallist Gabrielle Douglas of the U.S. waves before receiving her gold medal after the women’s individual all-around gymnastics final in the North Greenwich Arena at the London 2012 Olympic Games August 2, 2012.

Christian Post Report – Gabrielle Douglas is aiming to become the first gymnast in close to 50 years to win consecutive Olympic gold medals and plans to let reality television cameras film the process for Oxygen network.

Douglas, 19, made history at the Olympics when she became the first African-American All-Around Olympic Gold medalist and the first female to win both all-around and team gold medals at the same Olympics in 2012. With new goals in mind, Douglas and her manager mother are gearing up to star in the tentatively titled series, “Douglas Family Gold.”

“Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Douglas stunned the world in 2012 by becoming the first African American in history to win the individual all-around gold medal at the Summer Olympics. Behind her meteoric rise was a supportive family willing to sacrifice everything for years to help her dream,” a release from Oxygen media reads. “Now 19, Gabby is ready to do it all over again in hopes of making it back to the medal podium in 2016. The bi-coastal Douglas family shuttles between California and Ohio to support Gabby’s training regimen while also juggling their own lives.”

It seems Gabby is not the only busy member of her family, according to the show’s synopsis.

“Her brother John is the family’s second Olympic hopeful in track and field, while devoted sisters Arie and Joy are eager to blaze their own paths,” the synopsis states. “‘Momager’ Natalie keeps this tight-knit family in-check, knowing regardless of what happens, ‘Team Douglas’ has already won gold.”

The official air date for the tentatively titled reality television show has yet to be announced. After releasing her first book, Grace, Gold and Glory in 2012, Douglas opened up to The Christian Post about how her faith has contributed to her success.

“It was definitely important for me to praise God because He’s given me this God-given talent to go out there and represent Him and share my faith with everyone,” Douglas previously told CP. “I mean I’m not going to hold it in because He’s blessed me so much throughout my gymnastics career. He’s woken me up every single morning and He’s just been so great to me, so I’m going to go and share it with everyone because it’s a part of me and it’s just who I am.”
