Christian Post Report – A.J. has retired from WWE

A few days after winning at Wrestlemania 31, the three-time Divas champion AJ Lee has retired from the WWE.

The WWE released the following statement on April 3 about Lee’s retirement: “AJ Lee (April Mendez) has decided to retire from in-ring competition with WWE. We wish AJ the very best.”

Lee has been in the WWE main roster since 2009. Her first Divas Championship win was the longest in the title’s history, as she held the title for 295 days. She was also Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Woman of the Year for three consecutive years.

Lee suffered a neck injury in August 2014 and took some time to heal. On March 29, AJ and Paige teamed up against the Bella Twins at Wrestlemania 31.

She married former WWE wrestler CM Punk in 2014, and Punk made some controversial comments about the WWE back in November and he revealed that he was let go on his wedding day.

Just one day after Lee’s retirement was announced, Punk took to Twitter to echo the sentiment of his wife’s fans as he wrote, “#ThankYouAJ.”

WWE Legend Mick Foley paid tribute to Lee in a post on Facebook following the announcement.

“AJ Lee has retired from WWE—and somehow that just doesn’t seem right,” he wrote. “I have been talking for a while about a revolution in women’s wrestling—and I really do believe we are on the verge of a new dawn for women’s wrestling. When that new dawn arrives, it would only seem fitting that AJ be allowed to bask in the warmth of the rays she helped make possible.”

“AJ Lee was a pioneer—fighting her way up against all odds in the WWE developmental system, proving that unique talent, heart, and determination were just as important (if not more so) as the physical attributes that were generally accepted as necessary to find a spot near the top of the women’s roster,” he continued.

On April 5, Lee broke her silence about her retirement by tweeting, “Break the rules. Be a fighter. Any dream is possible if you are brave enough to do it YOUR way. Thank you all.”

Apple Watch News: Pre-Order Date, Time and Price (VIDEO)

Apple Watch Youtube Screenshot/ file

Christian Post Report – The Apple Watch will be available in 4 metallic colors, as well as two special edition colors.

With the Apple Watch nearing its release date in stores, Apple has also revealed the exact date and time stores will be accepting pre-orders for their wearable, as well as the price points for the different variations of the watch.

The Apple Watch is set to be available for pre-order on April 10, starting from 12:01 a.m., Pacific Daylight Time. With prospective buyers of the company’s new wearable awaiting ownership before the Apple Watch officially goes on sale on April 24, Apple has confirmed the information on its website over the weekend.

Online pre-orders for U.K. customers will start at 8:01 a.m., Germany and France pre-orders will begin after 9:01 a.m., and after 5:01 p.m. for Australia buyers. In Asia, China, Japan and Hong Kong pre-order time begins after 3:01 p.m.

Apple has also released a statement saying walk-in customers won’t be able to purchase Apple Watches on the pre-order dates, dispensing with the usual mile-long lines outside Apple Stores that usually precede their new device sales.

However, prospective buyers may get an actual visual of the Apple Watch and try one on when they visit a physical store. Customers won’t be able to purchase a watch on the April 24 sale date, either, unless they have made a prior pre-order online and set an appointment to claim their new wearable or have it shipped to their address.

The new reservation system is likely to prove a boon for loyal Apple customers who can do away with camping outside Apple stores a day before a product release, as well as Apple’s retail sales personnel who will be avoiding the impending crush of customers on April 24 altogether.

The Apple Watch starts at $349 for the aluminum and glass Apple Watch Sport, and goes all the way up to its maximum price of between $10,000 to $17,000 for the premium gold Apple Watch Edition, depending on what extras customers opt to add on.

George R.R. Martin Developing New Sci-Fi Series for HBO

Christian Post Report – George R.R. Martin

Christian Post Report – George R.R. Martin is confirmed to be developing a brand new TV series for HBO, leaving his book fans dismayed he isn’t likely to be hard at work finishing the sixth book in his epic fantasy novels, “Winds of Winter.”

Martin is currently on the early stages of developing a new television series for HBO, which may further delay his progress on his sixth “Game of Thrones” book. After revealing he will not be writing the sixth season the epic fantasy series, he revealed that he will instead be working on a new TV project with the working title “Captain Cosmos.”

The new series, 1949 at the dawn of the TV age, centers on a young and visionary writer who creates “a science fiction series that tells stories no one else will dare to tell,” Yahoo! News reports.

Michael Cassutt, who wrote for the “The Outer Limits” and “Z Nation,” has signed on to pen the series’ pilot. As the show moves forward to completion, Martin will serve as the series producer when the show debuts on HBO.

Working on a new HBO series may put a damper on the completion of “The Winds of Winter.” Martin had announced at the start of the year he intended to cancel on two of his regular appearances to concentrate on finishing the sixth book, which fans have conjectured will be published anytime between this year to 2017.

Meanwhile, the author has been sporadically releasing excerpts of the book to satisfy his fans, the most recent one being a chapter on Alayne/Sansa Stark posted last Thursday on his website.

With “Game of Thrones” having used up most of the material from the five existing books on which it is based, show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have released information they will not be borrowing from Martin’s epic fantasy series to create the episodes for season six.

The Chicago White Sox will play the Kansas City Royals on Monday as the MLB 2015 Opening Day gets underway. The game can be watched on TV on the CSCh network, or online through free live stream (details below).

Christian Post Report – Kansas City Royals players celebrate on the field after defeating the Baltimore Orioles in game four of the 2014 ALCS playoff baseball game at Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals have not played a competitive game at Kauffman Stadium since Game 7 of the World Series when they were fighting the San Francisco Giants – a game that went all the way to the bottom of the ninth. Of course that didn’t go the Royals’ way, however, everything starts anew today, and the Royals will be desperate to experience something more positive today on the same diamond for opening day.

The MLB 2015 opening season features numerous highlights this year. Many will be looking to Masahiro Tanaka following months of rumors and doubts surrounding his right elbow. The injury landed him on the disabled list last season, and many will want to see how his partially torn ulnar collateral ligament holds up as the season gets going today.

Another big highlight for opening day will be the contest between the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The pair will meet each other 19 times this season, including a potential vital three game set, which will close out the season. Matt Kemp in particular will be looking at this game with relish, and even though he has a lot of memories at Chavez Ravine, his time there ended on a bad note, and he will be looking to gain revenge in the only way he knows how – by winning and being successful where he is now.

Another big story for opening day 2015 will be veteran Torii Hunter leading his new team, the Minnesota Twins, against his old team, the Detroit Tigers. He has said ahead of the game: “I’m fired up to face anybody, whether I face the Angels, which I had a great time, or I face the Tigers, which I had a great time with. I can tell you this: Any team I might play, they know I’m coming to play,” according to TwinCities.com.

‘Beyond the Mask’ Hits Theaters Today; Special Effects Packed Faith-Based Film Wows Critics

The record-breaking new film “Beyond the Mask” is hitting theaters across the nation today, boasting stunning special effects and a stirring experience for the entire family.

Christian Post Report – With a star-studded cast including John Rhys-Davies, “Beyond the Mask” is already garnering rave reviews. Moreover, the film broke the record for debuting on the most screens in the history of on-demand theatrical distribution.

“We’re thrilled the advance excitement we’ve seen has turned into action in the form of screens reserved to show ‘Beyond the Mask,'” said producer Aaron Burns. “Now we want fans of action films to appropriate for the whole family to buy tickets and fill theaters.”

“Beyond the Mask” follows a British East India Trading Company assassin searching for redemption by thwarting a plot against a young nation’s hope for freedom. The film, which was written by Paul McCusker with help from “Courageous” scriptwriter Stephen Kendrick, celebrates grace, liberty, and true freedom that can only be found in Christ.

Furthermore, the action-packed story brings history to life with a talented cast, powerful script and high quality special effects. Kendrick, who co-wrote “Fireproof” along with his brother Alex Kendrick, went on to praise “Beyond the Mask” for ushering in a new era for faith-based films.

“It’s unlike just about any movie I’ve ever seen,” said the Christian filmmaker in a press release. “This movie has more green screen shots and CG effects than any other live action Christian film in history,” Kendrick explained. “The real adventure has been their creative climb of that digital Everest.”

Rhys-Davis, who plays the wicked Charles Kemp, in “Behind the Mask,” described the film as a “good, rollicking good yarn.”

“Kemp is a really rather interesting villain,” the actor continued during a taped interview. “He could pass for Wall Street. He is a villain of the first order – dangerous, manipulative, schemer, and with no moral compass whatsoever – perfect for an actor.”

“Beyond the Mask” hits theaters on April 6. For a full list of theaters, visit the website here.

The trailer for the film is below.

Christian Post Report – The Los Angeles Angels and Josh Hamilton appear headed for a nasty divorce

The American League West is often hugely competitive, and the rivalry between these teams will be fierce on opening day 2015. They will want to kick off their season with a valuable win on their path to the postseason this year.

Christian Post Report – Los Angeles Dodgers at batting practice before their Opening Day MLB National League baseball game against the San Francisco Giants in Los Angeles, California March 31, 2011.

Today’s big opening day game takes place from Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, and will see the Dodgers and Padres battle it out to claim the perfect start to the new season. Christian Post Report – Pittsburgh Pirates’ Garrett Jones (46) celebrates with Jordy Mercer (10) after hitting a solo home run against the Cincinnati Reds during the eighth inning of their MLB National League baseball game at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio, September 29, 2013.

These two franchises faced off for the 2013 National League Wild Card Game, however, since that time they have experienced vastly different fortunes. Last season the Pirates pushed their way through to the postseason, and have high expectations for this new year. However, the Reds finished fourth in the NL Central last season, meaning they have a lot less expectations for this new season, but they will be hoping to start on a positive note here with a win today.
