Excitement bursts out on every fan of the hit sci-fi first-person shooter video game franchise, “Halo,” when an announcement broke out to the Web saying that Microsoft, through 343 Industries, is releasing an online multiplayer for PC version of the game.

Christian Post Report – The delight felt among fans was, however, quickly quelled out when they learned that it will only be exclusively rolled out to Russia.

The announcement from Halo Waypoint said that the studio has been working closely with affiliates Saber Interactive and Innova Systems to deliver an “all-new” and totally “free” Halo Online game.

The report further indicated that the title will be launching in the said country “this spring.”

Halo Online will be running on a highly modified version of the Halo 3 engine, the website went on to reveal. Unlike the vanilla game, the online variant will contain no campaign mode and it will be set entirely on a secret UNSC space station called “Anvil,” a Spartan training facility.

IGN.com meanwhile dished out more details about the game by citing their Russian affiliate who was able to attend the reveal event.

It was found out that that Halo Online “will take place right after the events of Halo 3.”

The unveiling occasion also mentioned that players can use a variety of “classic weapons and vehicles,” and get into action on a number of “fan-favourite maps” including one Russian town.

The game has also been “optimized for keyboard and mouse controls.”

Further details from the website also mentioned that Halo Online won’t be adapted to Microsoft’s gaming console, Xbox One.

PlayStation 4 Update 2.50 Release Date: Latest March 2015 Update Goes Live

Sony finally released PlayStation 4’s Update 2.50 Thursday more than a year since the console’s launch in November 2013.

Christian Post Report – PlayStation 4’s long-awaited update is finally live after Sony released its new firmware labeled Update 2.50, featuring instant suspend and resume capabilities for games.

The PlayStation 4 could have a few glitches, but there are ways to solve them at home

Update 2.50, codenamed “Yukimura,” is touted to be Sony’s biggest and most significant update in a long while. “Yukimura” comes with several features, one of which is the suspend and resume gameplay capability using the PS button to allow players to hop in and out of their games.

This previously assured improvement Sony promised console users even before its 2013 launch gives players the power to pause their games, switch to another app, then go back and restart their paused game without having to save their progress.

This feature is expected to work for most games playable on the PS4 console. However, Sony’s VP for platforms marketing, John Koller, recently released information the suspend/resume feature may not be fully compatible with every game.

Another feature allows players to back-up and restore their hard drive to an external drive, and vice-versa. To make PS4 games more social, Sony has enabled a Find PS4 Friends capability by connecting the console to users’ Facebook contacts if they opt to link their accounts. This makes it easier for players to join in on their friends’ current games, as well as organize game parties on PS4.

Sony has given users the capability to automatically install their own system updates to their consoles, as well as a screen shot option whenever a game milestone is hit. This way, players can share an accomplishment screengrab on their feed.

Update “Yukimura” is available at PlayStation App and PlayStation Vita, and comes just a week after China lifted its 14-year ban on foreign game consoles, allowing Sony to begin selling their consoles in the Chinese market.

New Zealand’s Corey Anderson hits out against Australia as Brad Haddin (R) looks on in their Cricket World Cup match in Auckland.

Christian Post Report – Australia and New Zealand will contest the ICC 2015 World Cup Final on Sunday in a mouth-watering game between the two best sides of the tournament. Australia will be favorites to claim the title at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, but New Zealand have already managed to overturn the Aussies in the group stages of the tournament and so know they have what it takes to defeat their neighbors and most fierce rivals. The game is scheduled to start at 11.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

Although New Zealand have arguably been the most impressive team in the tournament until now, Australia are by far the more experienced on the big stage. The four-time World Cup winners will be making their seventh appearance in the final, where as this will be New Zealand’s first taste of the competition climax.

New Zealand are undefeated in the World Cup this year, winning all eight of their games. Australia meanwhile have won six of their games, lost one (to New Zealand), and had one no result.

There is almost nothing between these teams though, with Australia scoring 1,963 runs and taking 69 wickets compared to New Zealand’s 1,923 runs and 72 wickets.

Brendon McCullum will no doubt stick to his usual aggressive tactics that have worked wonders throughout the tournament until now. Personally he is scoring at almost two runs per ball, and as captain he has put full faith in his in-form bowlers by often setting four slip fielders to keep opposition batsmen under maximum pressure.

Ahead of the final he has said, “We need to play like that, that’s how we’re going to beat teams on regular occasions. We’re not afraid of losing. For us we think about what we can achieve. There are going to be times when we come out on the wrong side of it but that gives us our greatest chance of success against big teams.”

Today’s ICC World Cup 2015 final between Australia and New Zealand will start at 11.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream by clicking here.

The Formula One 2015 season continues Sunday with the Malaysia Grand Prix set to take place from the Sepang International Circuit. The Grand Prix has a scheduled start time of 8 a.m. BST (3 a.m. ET) and can be watched online through live stream (details below).

Christian Post Report – Mercedes Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton of Britain drives during the first practice session of the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi November 21, 2014.

The two Mercedes cars were not able to gain complete domination in the qualifying sessions for the Malaysia Grand Prix, and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel has managed to split Hamilton and Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg at the front of the grid.

Hamilton managed to secure pole position thanks to his very first flying lap, but was only marginally ahead of Vettel who came to within 0.074 seconds of the reigning F1 champ.

Rosberg came in third, although controversy surrounded him as he appeared to block teammate Hamilton on his penultimate lap.

Elsewhere on the grid, the stand out performance was Toro Rosso’s Max Verstappen, who at the age of just 17 and in only his second race stormed into sixth position. He almost went even higher up the grid, but the two Red Bulls, driven by Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat just about managed to hold him off.

If Hamilton can secure a second win out of two races on Sunday it would definitely put him in a strong position, although as proven last year, the season has a long, long way to go and a lot can happen between now and the end of the season.

Coming into this weekend’s Malaysia Grand Prix, Hamilton is in first place in the drivers championship, with 25 points thanks to his win in Australia a fortnight ago. Rosberg is second with 18 points, Vettel is third with 15, and Felipe Massa and Felipe Nasr are fourth and fifth with 12 and 10 points respectively.

Today’s F1 Malaysia Grand Prix will start at 8 a.m. BST (3 a.m. ET) and can be watched online through live stream by clicking here.

Duke Blue Devils vs Gonzaga Bulldogs Live Stream Free, CBS TV Start Time: Watch NCAA March Madness 2015 Basketball Online

Duke Evan Pike-USA Today Sports

The Duke Blue Devils.

Christian Post Report – South’s top two teams meet for a spot in the Final Four as the Duke Blue Devils meet the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament on Sunday. The game has a start time of 5:05 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the CBS network or online through live stream (details below).

Duke entered the tournament as number one in the South and displayed their dominance in their second-round match against Robert Morris.

They opened the game early and jumped to a 42-25 lead at the half to eventually finish the game with a 85-56 win.

Two Blue Devils scored more than 20 points as Quinn Cook dropped 22 and shot 6-of-10 from beyond the arc as Jahlil Okafor added 21 and only missed two of his 11 shot attempts in the game.

As a team, Duke drained 63% of their shots from the field to pull away against the Colonials.

In the third round, they met San Diego State and it was a similar story. They won 68-49 with Okafor dominating the game with 26 points and shot 12-of-16 from the field.

Duke held the Aztecs to only 33% shooting from the field while the Blue Devils continued their hot shooting with a 55% conversion rate.

In the Sweet 16, Duke faced-off against Utah and the fifth-seeded team made things a little more interesting.

Duke managed to still get the 63-57 win thanks to Justise Winslow’s double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds.

He also shot 8-of-13 from the field while Tyus Jones and Cook combined for 26 points as the duo attacked the rim to go to the line a combined 18 times.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga ranked second in the region and faced 15th North Dakota State in the second round. The Bulldogs moved on behind 23 points from Kyle Wiltjer. Four of the starters finished with double digits in scoring as they shot 52% from the field and forced the Bisons to turn the ball over 13 times.

In the third round they eliminated Iowa after a big 87-68 win, as they were led by Wiltjer’s 24 points in 25 minutes of play. The forward shot 10-of-12 from the field and his only misses were two from beyond the arc but sank his other four attempts.

Gonzaga shared the ball well as the doubled Iowa’s 10 assists in the game to complete the route.

And in the previous round, the Bulldogs faced the tough UCLA Bruins in Texas. They withstood excellent games from Tony Parker and Norman Powell and countered with four players reaching double figures in scoring.

Przemek Karnowski led the team with 18 points, while Domantas Sabonis was a spark off he bench as he contributed 12 points in 21 minutes of play.

The win gave Gonzaga their first Elite Eight berth since the 1999 season.
