Christian Post Report – With a place in the Final Four of the NCAA Men’s Division I basketball tournament up for grabs, the Louisville Cardinals play the Michigan State Spartans in the East Region final. Sunday’s game has a start time of 2:20 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the CBS network, or online through live stream (details below).

Louisville began the tournament with a close 57-55 victory over UC Irvine. In that contest, the highly favoured Cardinals could not shake off the upset-minded Anteaters as they were challenged in every move.

Wayne Blackshear scored 19 points in the victory, also pulling down seven rebounds as he played the entire game for the Cardinals.

Quentin Snider added 16 as he shot 6-of-11 from the field while sinking two of his three attempts beyond the arc.

Next up for them was a match againt the Northern Iowa Panthers and this time the Cardinals asserted themselves more for a comfortable victory.

Leading 36-27 at the half way point, Louisville continued with the pressure with four of five starters finishing in double digits led by Rozier’s 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Montrezl Harrell added 14 while Snider and Blackshear each dropped 10 points.

After the win, Louisville went head-to-head against their ACC rivals NC State. The eighth-seeded team led 33-31 at the half but the Cardinals adjusted and found a way to fight back in the second.

Throttling to a 44-32 second half performance, Louisville won 75-65 as Harrell scored 24, Rozier had another great night with 17 and Anton Gill provided seven points off the bench while shooting perfect from the field.

Meanwhile, Michigan State came into the tournament as the seventh seed and faced Georgia in the second round.

They won 70-63 behind 16 points from Denzel Valentine 15 from Travis Trice and 14 from Branden Dawson and Bryn Forbes.

Next, they were tasked to take on second-seed Virginia in the third round. Despite now tagged as the underdogs, the Spartans responded with a big 60-54 victory, sending Virginia home for the second straight year.

In that win, Trice led again with 23 points as he went 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Dawson added 15 as the Spartans were excellent beyond the three point line for the night – sinking 50 percent of their shots for three as a team.

After eliminating Virginia, Michigan State met third-seed Oklahoma in the Sweet 16. As expected, the Sooners led at the half 31-27 but the Spartans showed determination as they bounced back in the second round to get the 62-58 win.

Trice and Valentine were the team’s top performers as they combined for 42 of the 62 total points for the team.

Michigan State also limited Oklahoma to 24% shooting from beyond the arc as the Spartans marched on to the Elite Eight.

Malaysia Grand Prix 2015 Live Stream Free: Watch Formula 1 Racing Online (Start Time, Preview)

The Formula One 2015 season continues Sunday with the Malaysia Grand Prix set to take place from the Sepang International Circuit. Britain’s Lewis Hamilton is once again on pole as he looks to claim a second win out of two races. The Grand Prix has a scheduled start time of 8 a.m. BST (3 a.m. ET) and can be watched online through live stream (details below).

Christian Post Report – Mercedes Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton of Britain drives during the first practice session of the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi November 21, 2014.

The two Mercedes cars were not able to gain complete domination in the qualifying sessions for the Malaysia Grand Prix, and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel has managed to split Hamilton and Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg at the front of the grid.

Hamilton managed to secure pole position thanks to his very first flying lap, but was only marginally ahead of Vettel who came to within 0.074 seconds of the reigning F1 champ.

Rosberg came in third, although controversy surrounded him as he appeared to block teammate Hamilton on his penultimate lap.

Elsewhere on the grid, the stand out performance was Toro Rosso’s Max Verstappen, who at the age of just 17 and in only his second race stormed into sixth position. He almost went even higher up the grid, but the two Red Bulls, driven by Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat just about managed to hold him off.

If Hamilton can secure a second win out of two races on Sunday it would definitely put him in a strong position, although as proven last year, the season has a long, long way to go and a lot can happen between now and the end of the season.

Coming into this weekend’s Malaysia Grand Prix, Hamilton is in first place in the drivers championship, with 25 points thanks to his win in Australia a fortnight ago. Rosberg is second with 18 points, Vettel is third with 15, and Felipe Massa and Felipe Nasr are fourth and fifth with 12 and 10 points respectively.

Today’s F1 Malaysia Grand Prix will start at 8 a.m. BST (3 a.m. ET) and can be watched online through live stream by clicking here.

Australia vs New Zealand Live Stream Free, Start Time: Watch ICC World Cup 2015 Final Cricket Online (Preview)

Australia and New Zealand will contest the ICC 2015 World Cup Final on Sunday in a mouth-watering game between the two best sides of the tournament. Australia will be favorites to claim the title at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, but New Zealand have already managed to overturn the Aussies in the group stages of the tournament and so know they have what it takes to defeat their neighbors and most fierce rivals. The game is scheduled to start at 11.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

Christian Post Report – New Zealand’s Corey Anderson hits out against Australia as Brad Haddin (R) looks on in their Cricket World Cup match in Auckland.

Although New Zealand have arguably been the most impressive team in the tournament until now, Australia are by far the more experienced on the big stage. The four-time World Cup winners will be making their seventh appearance in the final, where as this will be New Zealand’s first taste of the competition climax.

New Zealand are undefeated in the World Cup this year, winning all eight of their games. Australia meanwhile have won six of their games, lost one (to New Zealand), and had one no result.

There is almost nothing between these teams though, with Australia scoring 1,963 runs and taking 69 wickets compared to New Zealand’s 1,923 runs and 72 wickets.

Brendon McCullum will no doubt stick to his usual aggressive tactics that have worked wonders throughout the tournament until now. Personally he is scoring at almost two runs per ball, and as captain he has put full faith in his in-form bowlers by often setting four slip fielders to keep opposition batsmen under maximum pressure.

Ahead of the final he has said, “We need to play like that, that’s how we’re going to beat teams on regular occasions. We’re not afraid of losing. For us we think about what we can achieve. There are going to be times when we come out on the wrong side of it but that gives us our greatest chance of success against big teams.”

Today’s ICC World Cup 2015 final between Australia and New Zealand will start at 11.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream by clicking here.

In their opening round, they thrashed Hampton 79-56 behind a double-double game from Karl-Anthony Towns. The forward scored 21 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, while shooting 8-of-12 from the field. Cincinnati were up next for the Wildcats and the Bearcats stood no chance. After keeping the game close at the half, Kentucky turned up the intensity to eventually win 64-51 with Trey Lyles scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds in only 28 minutes on the court.

Finally reaching the Sweet 16, Kentucky were tasked to face 5th seed West Virginia. It took less than a few minutes to determine that the Wildcats outclassed the Mountaineers. The first half ended 44-18 and the result was easily decided. Kentucky doubled WVU’s score 78-39. Lyles led the team with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Andrew Harrison had 13. Three other players scored at least 12 points in a game where the Wildcats held the Mountaineers to 24 percent shooting from the field and an abysmal 13 percent from beyond the arc.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame had much closer matches as they booked their place in the last eight. They first beat Northeastern 69-65 with Zach Auguste scoring 25 points while also pulling down five rebounds to help avoid the upset. Jerian Grant added 17 for the Fighting Irish who shot 57 percent from the field in the game.

Next was a meeting against 6th Butler Bulldogs and the game needed to go to overtime before being decided.

In the 67-64 win, Notre Dame turned to Grant to perform in the extra period as he went on to finish the game with 16 points while playing the whole 45 minutes. Steve Vasturia scored a team-high 20 points to help Notre Dame move on to the Sweet 16.

Finally they faced off against Wichita State Shockers who were out to beat another top-seeded team. However, Notre Dame were anchored by Pat Connaughton who finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds while also registering a pair of steals and blocks.

Four of their five starters finished in double figures as they now face probably the biggest test in the tournament

Independence Day 2 Cast News: Vivica Fox Confirmed to Return

American actress Vivica Fox has signed up to reprise her role in the sequels to 1996’s “Independence Day.”

Christian Post Report – 20th Century Fox has confirmed Vivica Fox will be making a return run as exotic dancer, Jasmine Dubrow for the June 24, 2016 “Independence Day” sequels.

Director Roland Emmerich himself, who directed the first highly popular film, posted news of Fox’s casting on Twitter. She is joining the other original members of the cast returning to the film, including Jeff Goldblum’s MIT science geek character, David Levinson, and Bill Pullman’s President Thomas Whitmore.

Fox will be reprising her role as Will Smith’s character, Captain Steven Miller’s girlfriend, who becomes his wife in the first movie. Smith himself has not signed on to do the sequels after Fox refused to pay his $50 million asking fee.

The two-part sequels, to be titled “ID Forever Part 1” and “ID Forever Part II” is set 20 years after the events of the original film, and details a plotline where alien reinforcements of the ones killed off two decades before return to earth following a distress call.

A new cast of characters has also been announced for the sequels, including Liam Hemsworth, who will be playing the son-in-law of Bill Pullman’s former President Whitmore character, Jessie Usher, as the son of Vivica Fox and Will Smith’s characters, and Charlotte Gainsbourg in an as yet unannounced role.

With the original film grossing over $817 million in the box office, the film’s sequels will be facing a tough uphill battle attempting to duplicate that financial feat, particularly without Smith’s rebellious insouciance that was partly responsible for making the first film a blockbuster.

Screenplay for the fantasy sci-fi action sequel will be written by Emmerich and Dean Devlin.

‘Insidious 3’ Release Date, Plot Spoilers: Upcoming Prequel to Focus on Elise’s Past

Blumhouses’ next film “Insidious: Chapter 3” will serve as a prelude to the first two chapters of the franchise. Some aspects from Chapters 1 and 2 will be explored in the upcoming installment.

Christian Post Report – Apparently, this has been verified when a recently published interview with “Insidious 3” director Leigh Whannell revealed that the title will delve deeper into one of the franchise’s mainstays.

Insidious: Chapter 3 FACEBOOK/ Insidious

Blumhouse Productions’ upcoming horror-thriller film “Insidious: Chapter 3”

CineMovie unveiled details of their visit to the movie set last year.

Played by Lin Shaye, the major supporting character Elise Rainier has been present throughout the span of the hit supernatural horror film series, and it is the wish of Whannell that her story be told more to the audience.

“Being able to go back and being able to tell a little bit of an origin story and to have Elise alive again … I love Elise as a character, especially Lin Shaye as an actress, so I wanted to see Lin Shaye alive and I wanted to dig into her back story,” he said.

He also addressed the cliffhanger from the previous sequel, confirming that it won’t be tackled in Chapter 3.

“We don’t explore that cliff hanger in this one and I don’t know if we will ever solve that, I’m not sure. I guess it depends if we make another film but I guess it depends if this one does well,” the helmer said.

Avid followers of the nerve-wracking movie series, meanwhile, should also be on the look-out for some “easter eggs” in Chapter 3.

“Fans of the first two will see things and maybe even pick up on things more casual viewers don’t, Whannell said. “Hopefully there are easter eggs in there hidden for the more hard core Insidious fans. Generally there is a connection to the first film.”

“Insidious: Chapter 3” is slated to open in theatres June 5, 2015.
