The Xavier Musketeers will play the Georgia State Panthers on Saturday as the NCAA March Madness 2015 Round of 32 gets well and truly underway with a massive game from the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to this year’s NCAA tournament getting underway, most would have said that Xavier would be big favorites to win this one. The No. 6 seeded team went 22-13 this season but arguably were challenged by some much stronger teams than the No. 14 seeded Panthers who went 25-9 through the season.

However, Georgia State made a big statement that they are not just here to make up the numbers as they took down the No. 3 seeded Baylor in the Second Round earlier this week.

The Panthers therefore will not be fazed by coming up against the Musketeers today and will believe they can take down another higher seeded team to progress to the Sweet 16 Round next week.

However, Xavier will be in no mood to be part of Georgia State’s Cinderella story and they will look to stamp their authority on the game from the start and try and immediately put a halt to any momentum the Panthers gained through their win against Baylor.

The Musketeers will have to put the brakes on Georgia State’s R.J. Hunter though. He has very much been their star player, and is averaging a team-high 19.8 points per game this season. Hunter of course wrote himself into the Georgia State history books as he hit the team’s game-winning three pointer with just seconds on the clock against Baylor.

Whether he will be able to lead the Panthers to another famous win remains to be seen.

The Arizona Wildcats will be in action against on Saturday in a massive NCAA 2015 March Madness game against the Ohio State Buckeyes. The No. 2 seeded Wildcats should be favorites to take this one, but it would be dangerous to write off the No. 10 seeded Buckeyes who would love nothing other than to cause a big upset today. The game is scheduled to start at 5.15 p.m. ET and takes place from the Moda Center at the Rose Quarter in Portland, Oregon. The Arizona Wildcats have only tripped up three times this entire season, posting a record of 32-3, and they will be reasonably confident that if they can give their best today they won’t suffer a fourth defeat here.

The Buckeyes have had a much more mixed season and have shown some flashes of excellence, but also a certain degree of inconsistency that has seen them struggle at times. Their 24-10 season showed lots of promise through, and there is no doubt that if they are on top of their game today they can compete with the Wildcats and have a chance.

Arizona had a relatively easy time of it in the Round of 64, easing their way to a comfortable 21 point win over Texas Southern on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ohio State were forced to fight back and come from behind against VCU. The character that they showed to comeback will have given them confidence, however, and they will want to build on the momentum they finished the game with against VCU.

The Buckeyes though can ill afford to make such a lackluster start against Arizona, and if they fall behind early on today, they may find it a lot harder to fight their way back into the game than they did against VCU.

83,000 Bibles Sent to Cuba to Keep Up With ‘Incredible’ Growth of Christianity

Christian Post Report – A shipment of 83,723 Spanish-language Bibles are headed for Cuba and will be distributed to a number of Southern Baptist churches in both Western and Eastern parts of the island nation, SBC’s International Mission Board announced this week.

IMB, which is an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention, announced that the shipment of three 40-foot containers filled with Bibles left from the ports of South Florida and is being distributed this week to various churches throughout Cuba. The announcement added that the Bibles will arrive in the capital of Havana on March 25.

The shipment is the third since 1999 that Southern Baptists have sent to Cuba and have sent nearly 500,000 Bibles in total, IMB strategy leader for Cuba, Kurt Urbanek, said in a media statement.

Urbanek added that this shipment is the first that will be shipped directly from the United States, saying that clearance was provided in late 2014.

“The extensive process of seeking permission from the Cuban government to ship Bibles required a great deal of negotiation with government officials and the Cuban Bible Society,” Urbanek explained in the release. “We are grateful the Cuban government opened the doors for the Bibles.”

Since the Cuban government amended its Constitution in 1992, declaring it a secular state, instead of an atheist state, religious activities have been given room to grow and flourish.

“The growth is so incredible, that’s why Bibles are so important,” Urbanek said.

Seventy-five percent of the Bibles will be distributed to two ministries. The Havana-based Western Cuba Baptist Convention will get 32,000 Bibles, while the Santiago-based Eastern Cuba Baptist Convention, which reported nearly 30,000 professions of faith in 2014 and has opened over 1,300 house churches in the last few years, will also get 32,000 Bibles.

“With the Eastern Convention reporting 29,063 professions of faith in 2014, the missionary noted that the Bibles potentially will cover the new Christians and only a few more,” the release stated.

IMB attributes the resources used for the distribution as a coordinated effort between LifeWay Christian Resources, Florida Baptist Convention, Church by the Glades in Coral Springs, Florida and other groups and individuals. LifeWay donated 60,000 Bibles. IMB provided the project with $100,000.

The distribution also includes study Bibles, large-text Bibles for the visually impaired, and Bible commentaries.

The Florida Baptists, who provided $2,000 toward leather-bound Bibles, have enjoyed an 18-year partnership with Cuba Baptists and have taken part in other Cuban Bible distribution efforts, the releases stated.

England will face off against France on Saturday as they look to win the Six Nations Championship at Twickenham with a strong win.

England will know exactly what they have to do to win the Six Nations as they start this game. The English have the slight advantage in that both Ireland and Wales played earlier on Saturday, and with things coming down to the wire and points difference, it would be an advantage that makes all the difference.

Coming into this final weekend of the Six Nations, three teams are level on six points, having gained three wins and losing once in their four games each until now. That means this is one of the closest Six Nations on record, with all three teams still with the chance of winning the Championship.

Wales come into today’s game with six points but are third in the table due to their inferior points difference. They have scored 85 points and conceded 73 until now, giving them a +12 points difference.

Ireland are second with 79 points scored and 46 conceded to give them a points difference of +33.

England are marginally ahead in top space, having scored 102 points and conceded 65 to give them a points difference of +37.

However, even though Wales are lagging behind by quite a lot they arguably have the opportunity to pile on the points today against an Italy team that has conceded by far the most points in this season’s Six Nations.

In their four games until now Italy have conceded 121 points – more than 30 points per game on average.

Ireland may feel they have the best chance, as they face Scotland, who are the worst team in the tournament coming into the final weekend, having lost all four games so far. Ireland only need to overturn a four point deficit against England, and with the English facing a strong French team, England may find it difficult to hold on to their slim advantage.

Indeed, France have the best defense in this year’s Championship, having conceded only 46 points in their four games until now, which is an average of just 11 points per game.

Today’s big match up between the Bruins and Blazers will see the No. 11 seeded UCLA take on the No. 14 seeded UAB.

The Bruins only arrive here following a controversial goaltending call on Bryce Alford’s 3-pointer, which ultimately handed the Bruins the win in the last round.

That means UCLA and UAB will get to face-off in a rematch of November’s game in the Bahamas when UCLA ran out 88-76 winners. However, this game obviously has a lot more at stake, and will decide who snatches a place in the South Regional Semi-final in Houston.

UAB junior guard Robert Brown is one person who is delighted that the Bruins made it through, and he is looking for revenge for their defeat earlier in the season. He has said ahead of the game: “We do have a little payback for them, and we want to play them.”

UCLA are not taking this game lightly, and know that the UAB are a significantly improved team from the one they met last year. UAB secured an impressive 60-59 win against No. 3 seeded Iowa State to get here in one of the big upsets of the last round.

UCLA senior Norman Powell said, “We know they’re a great team. We know we’re a great team. So it’s going to be fun to play them again.”
