Coming out as a huge surprise, Nokia recently unveiled their new device, the Nokia N1 tablet, at the 2015 Mobile World Congress this week.

The device is currently available only for the Chinese market and is selling for only $250.

Right off the bat, the N1 is said to come off with a “pretty good build quality” with an undeniable impressive specs.

A report from PhoneArena described the unit’s “uniformly flat front, top and bottom” and aluminum overall build to closely resemble that of Apple’s popular iPad Mini.

The tech website further detailed out the Nokia device having a “pretty clean” left side, a front-fitting speakers and microUSB port on the bottom, and a power button and a 3.5mm headset jack at the top.

The back houses an 8MP primary camera complete with auto focus features.

Under the hood, the tablet holds a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom z3580 processor paired with 2GB amount of RAM. Its 5,300mAh battery would likely be more than enough to power a pretty much big LCD screen display with a 7.9-inch 1536 x 20148 resolution specs.

Running with the latest OS, the new Nokia N1 tablet comes right off the package with Android 5.0 Lollipop with the Z-Launcher interface.

According to the site, the Z launcher is a feature which learns the user’s habits and frequently opened apps. With this information, owners can easily “write letters on the screen” to easily access the apps.

It is yet to be found out if the Nokia Lumia maker has plans to release the device globally.

Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” revealed some meaty details about the development taking place on his bow and arrow-wielding superhero. He also talked “new stuff” which fans will surely see in the upcoming installment.

“It’s a lot of the stuff that Joss and I talked about to doing the first one, but it just didn’t work out that way. It’s really exciting for me and Joss to kinda dive into the character a little bit more,” the 44-year-old actor told Screen Rant.

“There’s some wonderful secrets and relationships deepen. Yeah, there’s a lot more of him to deal with versus like, you know, the hypnotized version of him, you know,” Renner continued.

“The Bourne Legacy” star also teased some of Hawkeye’s new gears and tech that fans can look forward to in the “Avengers” sequel.

“Yeah, he’s got a coat, ’cause we were fighting in the woods. So I guess he’s gotta – he’s got this pretty cool coat,” he laughed. “I can’t move in it, but it’s cool looking at least. And, yeah, all the tech – there’s always new tech and different things.”

“That’s some new costumes, new tech; got some new characters and they’re good guys; they’re bad guys,” the “American Hustle” actor added.

Could Hawkeye ever appear in popular TV show tie-in “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”?

“I like the character enough and anything to do to explore him more, I’m always open to it, ’cause he’s obviously not had a franchise of his own to really deeply explore really who Hawkeye is,” the actor said.

Right after the news that Spider-Man will finally be joining his brothers in arms in the expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe and that it will have a new face underneath, speculations regarding its actor points out several young actors including Dylan O’Brien.

O’Brien is among the names strongly rooted for the superhero role. The rumors take things even further that one Redditor claimed the 23-year-old star had already signed the deal to take on the mask.

Unfortunately for fans, that might not be case.

Speaking with BuzzFeed the “Teen Wolf” actor finally shed light on the casting rumors saying that “it’s not true.”

“Professionally, I haven’t heard anything about it … I’ve only heard from, like, [rumors] online,” the actor said. “It feels so weird to say … It’s so funny. My friends from New Jersey are calling me. They’re like, ‘what are you not telling me, dude?! Spider-Man?!'”

“It makes me feel bad because I’m, like, disappointing a big chunk of fans across the nation … You can tell them that it’s not true,” he went on to say.

However, given the opportunity to take part on such a hugely popular trend already populated with the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Helmsworth, Scarlett Johansson and more others, O’Brein implied that he would readily take the offer without any second thoughts.

“It’s nothing but flattering. It’s never something I would want to get myself excited about, since I know I haven’t heard about it from a professional standpoint … I’ve always wanted to play Peter Parker, obviously. I feel like any actor my age, that’s, like, a big thing. And my name being tossed with Logan Lerman’s is the coolest thing ever, too. I just think that kid is fantastic,” he said.

The new “Spider-Man” movie is slated to open in theaters by 2017 after its purported reappearance in “Captain America: Civil War” this May 6, 2016.

Christian Post Report – Rumors have emerged Rockstar has no plans to launch a new game in 2015, putting the initially planned outing for “Red Dead Redemption 2” back a notch.

Reports have surfaced over Rockstar Games’ announcement that it will not be releasing any new offerings this year, which means the launch of “Red Dead Redemption 2” has been delayed further. This news comes after Rockstar declared it intended to focus their efforts to developing player experience for current titles.

Initially released in May 2010 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the game began with the adventures of former outlaw turned bounty hunter, John Marston, who is forced to find a cure for a zombie outbreak after the government takes his wife and son hostage to force him to render his services.

Rockstar will be implementing new system-wide features and improvements to the existing title, however, which is intended to come in a firmware update for the PS4 version of the game.

The update is set to be released by the end of March, and will include new features, one of which is the Suspend/Resume Feature that allows players to halt and resume gamplay with one touch of their console’s power button. This update comes following the news Sony confirmed the intended implementation of the suspend/resume technology for their consoles in October 2014.

With Rockstar focused on delivering a higher quality of gameplay experience for their existing titles, fans of “Red Dead Redemption” may have to wait a little while longer – speculations point to 2016 – for the sequel to the top fifteen game in IGN’s 2014 Top 100 “Games of a Generation.”

The critically acclaimed award-winning third person video game follows Rockstar’s 2004 “Red Dead Revolver.”

Christian Post Report – “Silent Hills” fans will have to wait until 2016 for the release of the ninth instalment of the “Silent Hills” series. The game’s creator Hideo Kojima has yet to give a definite release date. Rumors have been circulating late 2014 that the game may be released in 2015 due to insistent public demand, but these turned out to be false.

Public clamor for the release of the game started after Konami released what it called “P.T.” or a playable teaser in August 2014. It was made available through the PlayStation Network as a free download for PlayStation 4. The interactive teaser allowed gamers to walk or zoom through a “looping corridor” in a house filled with supernatural occurrences. The user needs to solve puzzles along the way and once the final one is solved, it introduces the user to upcoming “Silent Hills” game.

According to IGN, the game is directed by Kojima and Guillermo del Toro of “Pacific Rim.” The game will use the likeness of “The Walking Dead” star Norman Reedus as the protagonist. As shown in “P.T.,” instead of a third-person perspective, it will make use of the first-person perspective in gameplay.

In last 2014, the game’s creator reportedly shared some gameplay tidbits to a gaming website. As reported in Kdramastarz, Kojima had said that the new game will feature open world gameplay. This was teased by the creator.

“All I can say is that Fox Engine is meant for open world. I cannot discuss more on the game design itself in detail yet,” he said.

During that same interview, he said that they are aiming for a game that will be scarier than any other video game available. The playable teaser of “Silent Hills” was said to have been downloaded 1 million times and was recognized by video game journalists as one of the best video game trailers they have ever seen. One game reviewer in IGN called it “the most genuinely frightening interactive experience in recent years.”

Christian Post Report – Top Rank head honcho Bob Arum has predicted the pay-per-view earnings from the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight to run over $4 million on the Cinco de Mayo weekend.

Bob Arum, founder and CEO of Top Rank promotions, is pegging the pay-per-view take for the Floyd Mayweather, Jr versus Manny Pacquiao superfight on May 2 at the Las Vegas MGM Grand Arena to reach over $4 million, surpassing the 2007 Mayweather versus Oscar De La Hoya PPV earnings of $2.5 million.

“I think it’s gonna do over 4 million, it might be closer to 5 million,” Arum told ESPN Friday Night Fights. “I mean the interest in unbelievable. People who don’t follow sports, and who certainly don’t follow boxing are caught up in this event. Everywhere I go, people are talking about it.”

The Mayweather-Pacquiao bout has been a match nearly six years in the making, and it is touted to be the richest fight in boxing history with a $250 million pot to be divided 60/40 between the fighters, with Mayweather getting the lion’s share of the purse, as per agreed during negotiations between the two fighters’ camps.

Arum’s prediction hinges on the average betting odds pegged at $3.15 million in a number of sportsbooks. He also expects another PPV record breaker over the 2013 Mayweather – Canelo Alverez fight that brought $150 million, plus a history breaking gate record of $20 million.

With ticket demands higher than he has seen so far, Arum believes money isn’t the object when it comes to boxing fans clamoring for seats to watch the long-awaited fight.

“I’ve been offered for top ringside seats $100,000 a seat, I mean that seems to me to be crazy. I said raise it to $200,000 and you could have my seat,” he continued.

Boxing observers have dubbed the Mayweather – Pacquiao mega-fight a “non-mass event” after a high demand for seats from celebrities and other famous personalities continue to soar. With the exorbitant ticket prices, ordinary boxing fans will be unable to afford to watch the fight live.

In fact, Arum has offered to foot the ticket for UFC 184 champion, Ronda Rousey after the mixed martial artist expressed her intention to win her fight against Cat Zingano Saturday to be able to afford a Mayweather-Pacquiao seat.

Christian Post Report – With the sequel to the classic 1996 sci-fi disaster box office success, “Independence Day” hitting theaters in the middle of 2016, reports have emerged on the upcoming movie’s new and returning cast.

“Independence Day 2,” the sequel to the 1996 second highest-grossing film worldwide, will be arriving in theaters on June 24, 2016, and while Will Smith isn’t returning for the second movie, a number of the cast from the original are returning to do the sequel.

Jeff Goldblum, who played MIT computer geek, David Levinson, is reprising his role in 20th Century Fox’s highly anticipated sequel, taking the lead this time after his co-lead from the first film, Will Smith (US Marine Corps pilot, Captain Steven Hiller) apparently proved “too expensive” to hire, following his demand for a $50 million salary to do two sequels for “ID.”

Bill Pullman, who played US President Thomas J. Whitmore, has confirmed his participation in “ID2,” as well, and since the sequel is taking place 20 years after the events in the first movie, it is likely his role wouldn’t be as Commander-in-Chief of the United States.

Among the new cast, “The Hunger Games” star, Liam Hemsworth will be joining “ID2” in a co-lead role. Speculations surrounding the sequel point to him as playing Bill Pullman’s nephew.

“Survivor’s Remorse” actor, Jessie Usher will also be playing a central role as Capt. Steven Hiller’s grown up son. Whether he will be appearing as Vivica Fox’s son (she had a role as Hiller’s single-mom-exotic-dancer girlfriend in the original movie), or Smith’s own biological son not previously mentioned in the first film, is yet to be established.

While it is assumed “ID2” will offer audiences a fresh alien menace to look forward to, details on the Roland Emmerich-helmed sequel’s plot remain sketchy at present.

Fans of the original movie are continuing to root for the return of President Whitmore’s daughter and Russell Casse’s kids from the original film to make a comeback in the sequel, as well. With “ID” grossing over $800 million worldwide, the sequel has the original’s reputation and an Oscar award for Best Visual Effects to live up to.

Christian Post Report – A new crime drama series “American Crime,” will premiere on March 5 on the ABC Network. Its series creator is the highly publicized and award-winning screenwriter of the Oscar-winning film about slavery “12 Years a Slave,” John Ridley.

In an interview with Variety, Ridley openly said that he hopes the new series, like his film, will “change the way we think about race today.” He mentioned that he had asked himself whether a show like this existed on network television and his answer was “Very fundamentally, no.” He is the show’s executive producer and is said to have written five out of 11 episodes, and directed three including the pilot episode.

The series’ storyline follows a gruesome murder of a white couple in Modesto, California. The suspects are all minorities and the story unfolds not from the usual point of view of law enforcement, but from the points of view of the victim’s family, the suspects and their families, as well as the community. As it unfolds, issues about race, ethnicity, faith and religion are brought to fore. Variety calls it “provocative.”

Cast members of the series include Timothy Hutton, Felicity Huffman, Penelope Ann Miller, W. Earl Brown, Richard Cabral, Caitlin Gerard, Benito Martinez, Elvis Nolasco, and Johnny Ortiz. Regina King is cast a recurring character, a Muslim woman living in the community where the crime occurred.

It was ABC who approached Ridley, who was fresh from his Oscar win, to develop the series. Ridley was said he was “given free rein” by the network. The script was approved to pilot in January 2014 and was given the go signal by the network in May of the same year.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Ridley’s goal in coming up with the series “was to start a dialogue rather than make a statement.”

“When we are confronted with these things, do we change or do we stay the same? Can we become more than what we are?” he said.

The Dallas Stars will try to win two matches in a row as they travel to the BB&T Center to face the Florida Panthers.

Fresh off their 3-2 win over the New York Islanders, the Stars got the much-needed victory. Prior to that contest, they were on a six-game losing streak.

In the victory, Cody Eakin scored the winner in overtime to help improve the Stars’ record to 28 wins in 64 matches.

As for the Panthers, they broke their two-game win streak in their last match against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Prior to the defeat, they beat the Buffalo Sabres and Tampa Bay Lightning, displaying their scoring prowess with nine goals in those two games.

However, their 3-2 defeat to the Leafs gave them their 23rd loss of the season and are now ninth in the Eastern Conference. Nick Bjugstad leads the Panthers with 38 points and goals with 22.

Roberto Luongo has struggled so far as he has allowed 2.37 goals per game while holding a 92 percent save rate. As for the Stars, Jamie Benn leads the team with 61 points thanks to 23 goals and 38 assists so far.

Tyler Seguin is close behind with 59 points and leads the team in goals scored with 29.

Kari Lehtonen has an even worse stat line then Luongo, with 2.95 goals allowed per contest at barely 91 percent saving rate. The two teams have already met three times this season, with the Stars winning all three of those contests.

In their last meeting at BB&T Center, the Stars won 4-3 and secured two points in a penalty shootout victory.

Up next for the Panthers is a match against the New York Islanders. For the Stars is another away game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Carly Rae Jepsen, who co-penned and sang the hit single, “Call Me Maybe” has just released a brand new single over the weekend, and the new track, “I Really Like You.” It s reported to be catchier than her previous hit.

Canadian pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen has recently put out another single that many fans have described to be as addictive to listen to, if not more so than her 2012 hit “Call Me Maybe.”

“I Really Like You” marks the “Canadian Idol” Season Five runner up’s first release in three years. The music video for the song, which was shot late last year during one of the coldest winters in New York, features fellow Canadian pop idol, Justin Bieber, and Academy Award winning actor, Tom Hanks.

Earlier in February, photos of Jepsen, Bieber and Hanks appeared in the media and online, showing the three in the midst of filming the music video for “I Really Like You” in New York.

The track’s melody appears to have been influenced by the “Call Me Maybe” catchy tune. The blend of cheery pop is interspersed with a simplistic and repetitive, but catchy chorus the likes of which often become subjects of the Last Song Syndrome effect.

Jepsen, 29, is Justin Bieber’s protégé, and having using her mentor’s influence to boost “Call Me Maybe'” popularity on the charts, Bieber has again come forward to promote the new track.

“Make my artist @carlyraejepsen #1 again!” The newly turned 21-year-old Bieber tweeted on social media over the weekend. “And get ready for the video. Crazy 🙂 @tomhanks.”

The reason for the three-year hiatus between songs may lie with Scooter Braun, Jepsen’s manager who earlier said he expected the British Columbia native not to release any music unless it was on the same level as “Call Me Maybe.”

“I Really Like You” is the first track from Jepsen’s soon-to-be-released 2015 album, following 2012’s “Kiss.”
