Facebook Blocks Ads for Movie about Abortion Doctor Kermit Gosnell

The filmmakers behind a movie about abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell say Facebook blocked ads promoting the film.

“The Silicon establishment do not want this story told,” Phelim McAleer, a producer of Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer, told The Federalist.

Supporters of the movie, McAleer said, tried paying to “boost” several posts about the movie but were rejected. They even tried boosting a post from a mainstream outlet.

“They [Facebook] simply state it’s not been approved and to check their standards, but it does not give you a specific reason why this post could not be promoted at all to a wider audience,” McAleer said. “It’s clear it is the pro-life audience that they don’t want to encourage or provide content to. They really hate anyone who doesn’t subscribe to the liberal world view.”

Without Facebook’s help, many people who might want to see the movie don’t even know about it.

“Facebook is essentially silencing these children and women whom Gosnell murdered,” McAleer told The Federalist. “This is content journalists should be covering but Facebook is putting their thumb on the scale because they do not like the content. … As independent filmmakers, we have a limited budget and Facebook was a mainstay of our outreach efforts.”

Gosnell is the Philadelphia abortion doctor who was sentenced to…

Gay-cake bakery to close Belfast store

The Christian-run Ashers Bakery is to close its Belfast city centre store due to low footfall as a result of a fire that reduced the nearby Primark to a shell.

The fire which happened in August was followed by a 100m cordon closed 14 shops within its perimeter as a safety precaution and in response the amount of shoppers in the city has slumped.

The bakery on Royal Avenue which is 200ft from the clothing chain’s flagship store was in headlines last week after being vindicated of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation for refusing to print a message on a cake endorsing same-sex marriage.

Christians across the world had been praying for a victory for the case despite two initial losses at the County Court and the Court of Appeal.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph on the decision not to renew the lease, general manager Daniel McArthur said: “It simply comes down to the figures

“Belfast city centre isn’t busy enough – our other shops are much busier.

“I am pleased to say there will be no job losses.”

Last year, the bakery reported that their profits had grown to £1.5million.

What should happen to the Primark store has divided opinion with businesses saying that in order to salvage the upcoming Christmas trade, the listed building should be pulled down.

Primark has donated £500,000 to Belfast City Council to help affected traders.

High School Football Players Pray before Game after Pastor is Barred from Praying with Them

High School Football Players Pray before Game after Pastor is Barred from Praying with Them

After a video of a pastor praying with a high school football team went viral in September, the pastor was told he could no longer pray with the team.

Georgia pastor Russel Davis was asked to stop praying with the Dawson County public school’s football team after a viral video garnered a complaint from the Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation.

In the video, Davis prayed for the players to “unite people together” and to recognize God’s purpose for their lives.

“The Word says when they came out they compelled Him to carry the cross, and then Jesus went to the hill and He won victory on the cross,” Davis says in the video. “Your goal tonight is not to die on the cross. It is not to die on the field of battle. We’re calling you out tonight to carry their cross,” he said pointing at a group of child football players who joined the high schoolers in the locker room.

The Christian Post reports that after the video surfaced, the FFRF issued a letter to the school district demanding that they terminate Pastor Russell from his position of character coach and end the allowance of prayer led by him or any other volunteer or employee. FFRF called this schools allowance of prayer a “serious and flagrant violation of the Frist Amendment.”

Christopher Line the FFRF legal fellow who penned the letter to the district’s attorney…

RCCG Sunday School TEACHER’s Manual 21 October 2018 – Partners (Not Staff) In Christian Service

RCCG Sunday School TEACHER’s Manual 21 October 2018 Lesson 8 – Partners (Not Staff) In Christian Service

TOPIC: Partners (Not Staff) In Christian Service

OPENING PRAYER: Father, help me to follow Christ to the very end. (Scroll down for RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL 21 OCTOBER 2018 HYMN)

MEMORY VERSE: “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” – John 15:15 (scroll down for RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL 21 OCTOBER 2018 HYMN)

BIBLE PASSAGE: 1 Corinthians 3:6-9 (RCCG Sunday School TEACHER’s Manual 21 October 2018)

6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.

LESSON INTRODUCTION:

By definition, a partner is a person who takes part in an undertaking with another or others, especially in a business or firm with shared risk and profits. A staff is an employee of an organisation. Unlike the contemporary workplace, believers are expected to be partners together with Christ. Our commitment should be motivated by reward/wages as staff but as partners.

TEXT REVIEW: 1 COR.3:6-9 – “SYNERGY FOR THE KINGDOM”

Unity in the ministry was demonstrated in such a way that the grace of God in the life of an individual was allowed to grow until such an individual has grown into perfection. Acts 18:24- 28. We may not understand in the duo Of Paul and Apollos and how the greater encouraged the lesser to build for the kingdom.

Acts 18 : 24-28 indicated that Apollos as a Jew and was born at Alexandra. He was eloquent and mighty in scriptures. Acts 18:24. He was fervent in the Spirit. He spoke mightily in the public, convincing the Jews that Jesus was Christ. Acts 18:28. But he had only the Baptist of John the Baptist, and had not the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

However, Aquila and Priscilla saw value in the apparent weakness of Apollos and decided to brace him up more perfectly,Acts 18:26. Similarly the brethren at Ephesus writes to those in Achaia to receive Apollos highlighting how God had mightily used him. Acts 18:28

This is unity, this is synergy in action. This same Spirit of unity worked in Apostle Paul (who spoke more perfectly the mystery with God’s wisdom and was filled with the Holy Spirit. 1 Cor. 2:6-7) when he wrote, “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave increase”. 1 Cor. 3:6.

Apollos could have opted to be General Overseer in his own right while Paul too in his own right and would have heard their followers (1 Cor. 3:4), but instead, Apostle Paul advocated unity (1 Cor. 3:8-9) and called on those who had thought otherwise to come together as co-labourers and build together for the sake of the kingdom. 1 Cor. 3:8

LESSON OUTLINE 1: JOINT HEIRS WITH CHRIST

Connotation, Responsibilities and Attributes of Joint Heirs of God.
(i) Having relationship with God the father as children. Rom. 8:15
(ii) Having the right to receive God’s inheritance. Rom. 8:17, 1 Peter 1:4
(iii) It is having a “sonship” status in God’s kingdom. John 1:12-13
(iv) It is having the same privileges with Christ. Rom. 8:14-17
(v) It is having the privilege to serve God. Gen. 2:7-15
(vi) It is having assurance of new life. 2 Cor. 5:17
(vii) It is a call into service. It is a call to showcase the light of Christ. 1 Peter 2:9
(viii) It is a call to do the work of the father. John 4:34, 5:17, 9:4
(ix) It is a call to walk in the footsteps of the Christ. John 5:19-20, 14:12
(x) It is a call to partner with Christ in God’s vineyard. John 15:15.

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: What are the other benefits of being joint heirs with Christ.

LESSON OUTLINE 2: CO-LABOURERS ON EARTH

Reasons Why Believers Must Be Co- Labourers on Earth in God’s Vineyard.
(I) All believers are purchased with the same price and are baptized into the same Spirit and live by the same commandments. 1 Cor. 12:13
(ii) Believers have different ministerial gifts to work for the purpose of perfecting the saints and edifying the body of Christ. Eph. 4:11-13
(iii) The harvest is plenteous but the labourers are few. Luke 10:2
(iv) Because all co-labourers will receive sure rewards from God for their services. Col. 3:23-25; 1 Cor. 3:8-9

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Why should co-labourers in God’s vineyard avoid disunity and competition?

SUMMARY:
Believers are joint-heirs with Christ and co-labourers with one another.

CONCLUSION:
Christian service is our father’s business and being joint heirs with Christ, we must see ourselves as partners in the venture rather than whose utmost interest lies in their wages. We must focus on heaven and please God by making sacrifices in the course of the kingdom business.

EVALUATION:
Mention three (3) attributes of a joint heir with Christ and three (3) reasons to be co-labourers

CLOSING PRAYER:
Father, help my Sunday School class to play our roles in God’s vineyard.

ASSIGNMENT:
Give five (5) reasons why why some Ministers of God compete instead of complementing one another. 2 Marks for each point.

Poured His blessing on Thee.

Though the sun be so bright,
Or if the clouds black with rain,
I’ll be in Sunday School.

6. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
I rejoice to see Thee,
Will thou pass over me today?
Without my being blest?

Pope’s leading Vatican critic blames homosexuality for abuse crisis

Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano issued a third instalment on Friday in the war of words over the cover-up of ex-cardinal Theodore McCarrick.

He was responding to a Vatican cardinal who had rebuked him and accused him of mounting a “blasphemous” political hit job against Francis with his claims.

Mr Vigano has accused Francis of effectively rehabilitating Mr McCarrick, 88, from restrictions imposed during Pope Benedict XVI’s papacy because of allegations he pressured seminarians to sleep with him.

He has called for Francis to resign over the McCarrick scandal, which has sparked a crisis of confidence in the US and Vatican hierarchy.

Francis has responded to the McCarrick allegations by removing him as a cardinal, over an allegation he molested a minor, and by ordering a Vatican investigation into its archives to determine how Mr McCarrick rose through the ranks despite allegations he also molested adults.

Pre-empting the outcome, Cardinal Marc Oullet, who heads the Vatican’s bishops’ office, penned a letter on October 4 saying he had gone through his archives and found no evidence of any formal canonical sanctions signed by any pope.

In his new missive, Mr Vigano accurately noted that Mr Ouellet actually confirmed the core of his allegations: that Mr McCarrick was placed under some form of restriction, not necessarily formal sanctions, because of alleged sexual…

‘I Wanted to Be Part of Something That’s Encouraging,’ Tim Tebow Says of His First Film

‘I Wanted to Be Part of Something That’s Encouraging,’ Tim Tebow Says of His First Film

Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow is co-producing his first film and it is a tale of faith and overcoming adversity.

“Run the Race,” is Tebow’s producing debut film which he is co-producing with his brother Robby. The film tells the story of two brothers who have lost their mom and whose father walked out on them after her death. Despite this, the brothers are determined to make the best out of a bad situation. They plan on obtaining football scholarships so that they can use the money to change their circumstances. Suddenly, everything changes when one of the brothers sustains an injury bringing his football dream to a screeching halt.

The film follows the two boys’ journey of faith, family, and football as they work to overcome this series of misfortunes.

In an interview with CBN News, Tebow noted that this story has many elements that are not unlike his own trials.

“There are a lot of similarities in my life between two brothers supporting one another, having each other’s back, believing in one another,” Tebow shared. “My family and my brother have always given me so much support. That’s made such a big impact on me being able to go after my dreams.”

In college, Tebow dreamed of playing professional football just like the brothers in “Run the Race.” Tebow achieved this dream, but it was short-lived. Soon Tebow pursued a…

Christians under scrutiny in Burma

Shan State is near the Chinese border and the case indicates an increasing crackdown on Christians in the region by the United Wa State Army (UWSA).

Two priests, three nuns and three lay teachers were expelled following an expulsion order on 12th October aimed at clergy who arrived in the region after 1992. Last month, another priest, five nuns and six teachers were expelled.

They are are part of a campaign of increased targeting of Christians by the UWSA since 13th September.

The UWSA announced that all churches built after 1992 were constructed illegally and will be destroyed and has forbidden the construction of new churches. Five churches have reportedly been destroyed and 52 shut down.

Last week, reports emerged of approximately one hundred Christians who were released after being forced to sign pledges that they would only pray privately in their homes. Religious leaders in the region reported that 41 Bible students had been forcibly recruited into the UWSA.

Benedict Rogers, CSW’s East Asia Team Leader, said: “The scale, suddenness and severity of this crackdown is profoundly concerning. We urge the international community to monitor this situation closely and consider what action could be taken to protest at this repression and protect the Christians in UWSA-controlled areas.”

Rogers added: “The influence, at some level, of the Chinese authorities…

Violence, Discrimination against Christians Escalate in Sri Lanka

NEW DELHI (Morning Star News) – Attacks and other actions against Christians in Sri Lanka have escalated this year, with Hindu extremism beginning to take root along with long-time Buddhist aggression, according to rights advocates.

“Last month there have been more incidents that have been documented than previous months,” an attorney with the National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka (NCEASL) who requested anonymity told Morning Star News.

NCEASL reported 67 incidents against Christians in Sri Lanka from January through September. Last month saw the highest number of cases reported this year, 12, while 10 incidents were recorded in each of two months, July and March, followed by April and January with eight incidents each.

June and July saw seven incidents each, followed by May with four and February with two.

The highest number of incidents fell under the category of “violence” and “threats” against Christians, with 16 cases each, according to NCEASL figures. This was followed by nine incidents in each of the categories of “discrimination,” “demands for closure” (of worship places) and “intimidation,” while “police inaction,” “false allegations” and “registration” (of cases against Christians) registered two incidents each. One case each of “legal challenge” and “demonstration” were recorded.

Oldest surviving complete Latin Bible goes on display in London

An exhibition opening at the British Library on Friday displays some wonders of Anglo-Saxon England, from the end of the Roman era in Britain to the Battle of Hastings in 1066.

Among the items will be some of the first examples of the written English language, the Domesday book and several Biblical manuscripts from the epoch.

Dr Claire Breay, who curated the exhibition told Premier Christian Radio’s News Hour: “Some of the most important exhibits in the exhibition are biblical manuscripts, with many fantastic illuminated manuscripts.”

Codex Amiatinus, a giant Bible and one of the earliest surviving complete Bibles in Latin is on display.

It was made at the monastery of Wearmouth-Jarrow in north east England in the 8th century and taken to Italy in 716 as a gift for the Pope and is a rare example of a book with the whole Bible in as opposed to select books.

It is a Latin Vulgate translation and is one of three commissioned at the time and is coming back to England for the first time in more than 1300 years, on loan from the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana in Florence.

All three copies would have needed more than 500 animal skins to make the parchment and a team of scribes to hand-copy the text onto the leaves.

“We’re especially excited to have Codex Amiatinus in the exhibition” said Dr Breay.

“It’s never been back to England until now so we are absolutely…

What Does the Bible Say About Getting Tattoos?

(Photo: REUTERS/Jason Reed)A tattoo artist from Virginia works on a man’s leg with a Captain America design.

Among the contested issues within churches today is what the Bible says and means as it pertains to tattoos, a topic that proves challenging given that they have become normalized in culture.

The most explicit scriptural condemnation of tattoos appears in Leviticus 19:28 which reads: “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.”

Some read that passage as God expressed a desire for His people to be set apart for Himself, as tattoos were tied to occult practices like sorcery and other pagan religious practices.

The surrounding verses reveal that forbidding tattoos is but one of many things associated with pagan peoples that the God of Israel prohibits such as making daughters into prostitutes, and turning to mediums and necromancers.

“Anyone getting a tattoo really needs to ask themselves, why am I getting this and what is the meaning of this tattoo? Is the tattoo an expression of witchcraft, idolatry or pagan symbolism?” asked Jay Haizlip, pastor of The Sanctuary Church in Orange County, California, in a 2013 Huffington Post essay.

“I lean toward the belief that it is not forbidding all expressions of tattoos. Culturally and specifically here in the US, tattoos, over the last 20 years, have become more socially acceptable,” he said, referencing Pew research claiming approximately 40 percent of millennials have tattoos.

Writing at Crosswalk.com, Liberty University Professor of Apologetics Will Honeycutt explained that injecting ink underneath…
