Memorise: Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the Word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but my Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. – Zechariah 4:6

Read: Zechariah 4:5-7 (KJV)

5 Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

Bible In One Year: Job 31-32, Acts 13:1-23

MESSAGE:

If you learn to play your part so well in any partnership that involves God, God will also play His part. How He does His part depends on how you do yours. It will also be determined by His mercy; but one thing is sure: the day that He says it is no longer by your power but by His Spirit, you should jubilate because from that time, you will make effortless progress. Many believers do not get to experience such progress because they have not done what they should do for the Kingdom.

You have to give your best to God at all times. As long as you reserve the best, God reserves His too. Remember God will use the same container you gave with to return your harvest. Do you truly want to move to the era of effortless progress? Then give God your best effort, gift, prayer, worship, thanksgiving, and give it to Him today. It is a choice only you can make.

Key Point: Some have not given their best because they have not taken their time to determine what their best is.

Hymn 7:

1. I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

3. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

4. There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.

DCLM Daily Manna 5 July, 2018 by Pastor Kumuyi – Pure Justice

Topic: Pure Justice [DCLM Daily Manna Thursday July 5, 2018]

Text: Exodus 21:12-25 (KJV)

Key Verse: “But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die” (Exodus 21:14).

MESSAGE:

Since the 15th century, the statue of Lady Justice has been depicted in courts all over the world wearing a blindfold. One may wonder, ‘why the blindfold?’ It represents objectivity in meting out justice, without fear or favour, regardless of identity, money, power or weakness.

In our text, Moses was handed the Ten Commandments, with detailed instructions on punishment for offenders. Murderers are to be executed, except in cases of manslaughter without premeditation, where the accused is permitted to seek refuge from the avenger of blood in the city of refuge. The law prescribed the principle of retribution for injuries caused to others.

These laws are put in place as deterrents and warnings to would-be offenders that justice will be meted out without fear or favour. Mercy and truth must go together in a just society. Moses was commanded to ensure that credible judges were appointed to enforce these laws. The appointed judges must be people of high integrity, not accused of taking bribes to miscarry justice.

The present-day laws are sourced primarily from the Law of Moses. Murder is still punishable by death in many countries, except in nations where life imprisonment for such offenders is prescribe. Despite the increase of judges and creation of the International Criminal Court, some rich and well-connected offenders evade justice due to the loopholes in the system. No matter how laws are enforced, a day is coming when God shall judge the world in righteousness. In the light of this, we should ensure we live right and avoid anything that will condemn us before God.

Thought For The Day: Judges give judgments, but God gives justice.

Seeds of Destiny 5 July 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche – The Creative Power of the Way-Making God

Topic: The Creative Power of the Way-Making God [Seeds of Destiny Thursday July 5, 2018]

Scripture: The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid. Proverbs 30:19

Thought For The Day: If God could make an ordinary bird not to miss its way, He will make you not to miss direction in life.

The Scriptures make it clear that God created the whole world and all creatures with His way-making mentality. In other words, throughout creation, God showed that He is the Way-Maker through the works of His Hands. It is, therefore, important to look at the characteristics of some creatures in order to appreciate the Way-making Power of God.

Now, one example of the creatures of God that demonstrates the Way-making power of God is the eagle. The Eagle can sit on a rock, observe the wind current and fly several kilometres in the sky without missing direction because it has thermo-receptors under its wings. The reason the eagle can strategically fly like this with accuracy is because the Creator wired His way-making or way-finding capacity inside it.

The domestic pigeon is another example. This bird has a unique characteristic. If you blindfold it and carry it from one location to another different and distant location, when you remove the blindfold, it would fly back to where it was taken from. This is because the Way-making God wired in its brain radar, compass or navigational equipment that has the capacity to identify locations without seeing or missing its way.

Beloved, the lesson is, if God could do this for birds whose lives or death mean nothing to anyone, to showcase His power and greatness, would He not do greater and better things for you? If God could make an ordinary bird not to miss its way, He will make you not to miss direction in life, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: If God could make an ordinary bird not to miss its way, He will make you not to miss direction in life.

Assignments:
1. Go through this study again.
2. Maintain confidence in the Way-making Power of God to show you the pathways of life.
3. Ask God to fulfil His promise of showing you the way you should follow in life (Psalm 32:8).

Prayer: O Lord, I connect to Your Way-making Power. Help me never to miss direction in life, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

TREM Devotional 5 July 2018 by Dr. Mike Okonkwo – There is Power in Hearing the Word of God

Topic: There is Power in Hearing the Word of God [TREM Devotional Thursday July 5, 2018]

“This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” Galatians 3:2

In the book of Galatians chapter 3, verse 1; Paul was sort of frustrated with the Galatian Church that he asked: “Who hath bewitched you?” In verse 2 of the same chapter, Paul asked: “Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith?”. The people suddenly were trying to go back to self-effort and performance and Paul says that is foolishness. Why do you think that Jesus died? All you need to do is to receive what grace has supplied. Who is bewitching you that you think that what you do is what will make God do for you? God has already done it for you because He is good. He is not doing for you because you are good.

In verse 5, Paul asks again: “He therefore that ministers to you the Spirit and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith?” In other words, is it by your effort? Is it not because you heard what Christ did and you believed that something happened? How dare you go back to self-effort? You were told, you are blessed and you believed it. You stood in faith and you refused to believe every contrary thing. And because you believed, you were blessed.

You believed that you were healed by His stripes and that even if there is a damaged organ in your body, God has spare parts and can change it. You believed it and healing took place. You received it by the hearing of faith. You heard that God will speak on your behalf in high places, and it produced a Rhema in you to take an action. Then God began to orchestrate things and moved on your behalf in high places and positioned people to speak on your behalf. Now you say that you will work it out? Beloved, we are believers and we only believe when we hear. Therefore, keep hearing and as you hear, keep believing. There is power in hearing the Word of God.

Kenneth & Gloria Copeland Devotional 5 July 2018 – Don’t Think Like the World

Topic: Don’t Think Like the World [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Thursday July 5, 2018]

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds); Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. – 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

If you think like the world thinks, eventually you will act like the world acts. Unrestrained thoughts produce unrestrained actions. So control your thoughts by bringing them into obedience to the Scriptures.

Program your mind with the Word of God. The Word is spirit and it is life. When your mind is totally saturated with the Word of God, your will becomes strong to exercise authority to overcome every ungodly thought and evil habit.

Don’t let Satan deceive you into sacrificing the glory of God in your life for a few moments of self-indulgence and sin. Restrain your thought life. Meditate the Word instead of selfish, carnal thoughts. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith.

Our Daily Bread Devotional 5 July 2018 – God’s Great Creation

Topic: God’s Great Creation [Our Daily Bread 5 Thursday July, 2018]

Read: Psalm 104:1–6, 10–23, Bible in a Year: Job 30–31; Acts 13:26–52

The birds of the sky nest by the waters; they sing among the branches. Psalm 104:12

On a recent visit with some of our grandchildren, we enjoyed watching a web cam that focused on an eagle family in Florida. Every day we would check in on the mom, the dad, and the baby as they went about their daily routine in their nest high off the ground. Each day the parent birds would keep a constant, protective vigil over the eaglet, bringing it fish from a nearby river for nourishment.

This little eagle family depicts for us one image the psalmist gave us of God’s magnificent creation in Psalm 104—an array of creation images, of scenes from the work of God’s creative hand.

We see the majesty of God’s creation as it relates to the universe (vv. 2–4).

We experience the creation of the earth itself—waters, mountains, valleys (vv. 5–9).

We enjoy the glory of God’s gift of animals, birds, and crops (vv. 10–18).

We marvel at the cycles God created in our world—morning/night, darkness/light, work/rest (vv. 19–23).

What a glorious world God has fashioned with His hands for our enjoyment—and for His glory! “Praise the Lord, my soul!” (v. 1). Each one of us can say thank You to God for all He has given us to appreciate and enjoy.

Prayer: Praise God! Praise You, Lord, for the wonder of the earth You created.

The beauty of creation reflects the beauty of our Creator.

Andrew Wommack’s Devotional 5 July 2018 – Focus On Jesus

Topic: Focus On Jesus [Andrew Wommack Thursday July 5, 2018]

Luke 10:20 – “Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”

We were never instructed to have a Ph.D. in demonology. However, some justify focusing on Satan and his activity to an inordinate degree. This will actually encourage demonic activity and become a device that Satan can use against us.

As Paul said, we should not be “ignorant” of Satan’s devices. We certainly need to know that the devil and demons exist, and we need to recognize when we are facing demonic activity. But we need to keep our focus on the Lord.

Some people who are excessive in “spiritual warfare” actually spend more time talking to the devil each day than they do talking to God. That’s not right.

The best defense against the devil is to be so “God-centered” that we give no place to Satan. People who are very sensitive to the devil’s presence usually do so at the expense of being sensitive to the Lord’s presence. David said, “If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there” (Ps. 139:8). Any time Satan’s oppression is there, God’s presence is present too (Heb. 13:5)! It’s just a matter of which one we focus on. Focusing on the devil is a trick of the devil.

Our total ability in the Christian life is found in Christ. It is not our ability that makes us strong, but our availability to Christ that enables us.

Paul said, “For when I am weak, then am I strong” (2 Cor. 12:10). He was saying that when he recognized his inability and, therefore, relied on the Lord, then the Lord’s strength flowed through him. We can do all things THROUGH CHRIST.

Billy Graham Devotional 5 July 2018 – A Clear Message

Topic: A Clear Message [Billy Graham’s Devotional Thursday July 5, 2018]

The law of the Lord is perfect . . . — Psalm 19:7

The Bible is the constitution of Christianity. Just as the United States Constitution is not of any private interpretation, neither is the Bible of any private interpretation. Just as the Constitution includes all who live under its stated domain, without exception, so the Bible includes all who live under its stated domain, without exception. God’s laws for the spiritual world are found in the Bible. Whatever else there may be that tells us of God, it is more clearly told in the Bible. Nature in her laws tells us of God, but the message is not too clear. It tells us nothing of the love and grace of God. Conscience, in our inmost being, does tell us of God, but the message is fragmentary. The only place we can find a clear, unmistakable message is in the Word of God, which we call the Bible.

Prayer for the day: How I pray that the world would live by Your law—which bears no discrimination but is perfect. Teach me as I read the Bible to follow Your commandments which are not impossible to obey because of Jesus Christ’s love.

Kim Dotcom & 3 Former Colleagues Lose Latest Legal Bid to Avoid Extradition to US for Criminal Charges – Urban Christian News

Flamboyant internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom and three of his former colleagues have lost their latest bid to avoid extradition to the U.S. to face criminal charges.

New Zealand’s Court of Appeal on Thursday upheld earlier court rulings that found the men were eligible to be handed over to U.S. authorities.

Dotcom’s lawyer Ira Rothken said they were disappointed with the judgment and planned to file an appeal with New Zealand’s Supreme Court.

“We have now been to three courts each with a different legal analysis,” Rothken wrote on Twitter.

The latest decision comes more than six years after U.S. authorities shut down Dotcom’s file-sharing website Megaupload and filed charges of conspiracy, racketeering and money laundering against the men. If found guilty, they could face decades in prison.

Megaupload was once one of the internet’s most popular sites. U.S. prosecutors say it raked in at least $175 million, mainly from people using it to illegally download songs, television shows and movies.

Dotcom argues that he can’t be held responsible for others who chose to use his site for illegal purposes, and that any case against him should have been heard in civil court. He says he never lived in the U.S. or even visited the country and didn’t have a company there.

Born in Germany as Kim Schmitz, Dotcom founded Megaupload in 2005. At one point he lived in a Hong Kong hotel, before being granted permanent residency in New Zealand in 2010. He was arrested in New Zealand in 2012 during a dramatic police raid on his mansion and incarcerated for a month before being released on…

Couple Exposed to Unknown Substance Near Area of Russian Spy Poisoning – Urban Christian News

Four months after a quiet corner of England was plunged into a Cold War-style saga of spies, chemical weapons and international tensions, residents wondered Wednesday whether it was happening all over again.

Counterterrorism detectives and local police were investigating after a couple in their 40s fell critically ill from exposure to an unknown substance a few miles from where a former Russian spy and his daughter were poisoned with a nerve agent in March.

Scientists were working to identify the substance amid speculation the victims could have been sickened by residue from the poison that nearly killed Sergei and Yulia Skripal.

Wiltshire Police declared the case a “major incident” Wednesday, four days after the man and woman were found collapsed at a residential building in Amesbury, eight miles from Salisbury, where the Skripals were poisoned. A major incident designation allows British authorities to mobilize more than one emergency agency.

Residents felt a grim sense of deja vu.

“With the Russian attack happening not long ago, we just assumed the worst,” said student Chloe Edwards, who said police and fire engines descended on a quiet street of newly built homes in Amesbury on Saturday evening.

Edwards said she saw people in green suits — like those worn by forensics officers — and her family was told to stay indoors for several hours.

Police said officers were initially called Saturday morning about a collapsed woman, then were summoned back in the evening after a man fell ill at the same property. Police at first thought the couple, identified by friends as…
