Christian Post Report – Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are expecting their first child and have now surpassed the 39-week milestone, marking the moment with a family dinner and photos on Instagram.

“Happy 9 monthiversary @JillMDillard!!!” Dillard captioned his Instagram photo while wearing a “#newdad” T-shirt. “A LOT has happened since June 21! I am blessed beyond measure and every day is even better with you baby! You’re my best friend, and I love you with all my heart! #newlyweds #newdad.”

The couple also spent time with Jessa and her husband, Ben, who posted photos to his own Instagram account.

“Jessa and I are over at Jill and Derick’s with some of the fam sharing a meal together! #fellowship,” Seewald shared.

Jill and Derick will welcome their first child, a son, any day now. And the couple is fully prepared to welcome a new baby into their family. Not only do they have the help of Jessa and Jana, but Jill is a midwife who recently helped deliver a client’s baby. She also has plenty of experience helping take care of young children and her siblings.

Derick and Jill made cards with scriptures on them in order to help her through labor and delivery by giving her something to focus on. The couple also took classes on the Bradley Method so that Derick will be able to help Jill when the time comes.

“It’s husband-coached childbirth,” Jill told E! News. “He can know how to help me in labor and in pregnancy —and that’s what I want the most, is [for] him to be able to know what to do when that time comes.”

The delivery will likely be featured in a TLC special and the upcoming season of the hit series “19 Kids & Counting.”

Jill and Derick have plenty of plans for raising their son.

“Ultimately, we want to be an example for them,” Derick told The Christian Post. “And just be the best dad I can be to both my sons and daughters, and teach them the Word of God early on and pray that they will come to the Lord early in life. And helping them be open, not afraid to come to us about anything.”

The Fosters FACEBOOK/ The Fosters

ABC Family’s “The Fosters” Season 2

Christian Post Report – Issues in the hit family TV drama series “The Fosters” has got even more complicated as it approaches its spring finale of its second season.

Spoiler report from Entertainment Weekly points out Callie Jacob’s (Maia Mitchell) on-going strife with her biological father, Robert Quinn (Kerr Smith). Robert has been on the trail to get full custody of Callie but apparently, she, Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum) don’t want that to happen.

But things are about to complicate in this upcoming episode. The publication indicated that her biological grandfather, Robert Quinn Sr. (guest star Patrick Duffy) will swing by to make the matters worse for Callie.

Aside from the custody issue, a report from Carter Matt also pointed out Callie’s relationship with her biological half-sister, Sophia (Bailee Madison), whom fans hadn’t seen for quite some time.

The media outlet then cited a sneak peek for the upcoming episode where Sophia was seen “genuinely happy” to see Callie.

Fans have been wondering the situation between the two but according to Cater Matt, the two might not still be in good terms.

“It would be wrong to even expect for them to be in the first place. There is a whole lot of healing that still needs to be done here, and you cannot blink your eyes and expect for it to all be done,” the publication wrote.

Meanwhile, a synopsis for the episode titled “The End of the Beginning” teases that “someone’s story will end in tragedy.” Who could that be?

Viewers will find out when “The Fosters” Season 2 airs this Monday, March 23 at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.

Hindu Extremists Attack Cathedral in India, Smash Down Doors and Windows, Accuse Christians of Conversions

Demonstrators shout slogans as they hold placards during a protest outside a church in New Delhi, India, February 5, 2015. Hundreds of Christian protesters clashed with police in India’s capital on Thursday as they tried to press demands for better government protection amid concern about rising intolerance after a series of attacks on churches.

Christian Post Report – Six people have been arrested after a group of Hindu extremists attacked a cathedral in central India, breaking down doors and smashing windows. The attack, which was caught on CCTV cameras, was aimed at Christians who are being accused by the extremists of converting people into Christianity.

“We arrested six men last night in connection with the vandalism. We are trying to identify more people … there may be more arrests,” senior state police official HC Mishra said, according to AFP.

The attack on the cathedral in Madhya Pradesh state apparently took place on Friday night, police said. The right-wing Hindu Dharma Sena group has accused the church of converting close to 200 local tribal people into Christianity, though it has denied involvement in the attack.

Christian churches and groups in India have routinely faced attacks by Hindu extremist groups that accuse them of converting Hindus to Christianity. Violent attacks on churches have continued throughout the leadership of the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, which won the country’s elections in 2014.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promised to crack down on religious violence, but reports of such attacks have continued on a regular basis.

Earlier in March, a 71-year-old Indian nun was gang raped inside a Catholic missionary school in West Bengal. The men accused of attacking the nun ransacked the school, ripped apart a Bible, and destroyed a bust of Jesus. The nun, who was taken to hospital, has since said that she has forgiven her attackers.

Attacks have also been reported in several other towns and states, including in the capital of New Delhi.

Persecution watchdog group Open Doors lists India as 21st on a list of countries where Christians face the most persecution. The nonprofit told The Christian Post in January that despite the government’s attempts to join the ranks of the most powerful and influential nations in the world, India continues to have a very poor religious freedom record.

“This year, and during the reporting year, India has become a more dangerous place for Christians, largely because Hindu extremists seem to think that the new government there will give them impunity when they attack Christian churches. The episodes of violence there from extremists are on the rise,” Open Doors CEO David Curry told CP.

Certain government laws, such as financial benefits available only to “dalits,” the lowest caste system, have also forced millions of Christians to choose between their faith and receiving those benefits.

International Christian Concern noted in December that close to 25 million dalits in India have converted to Christianity, but are unable to access the government benefits if they do not revert back to identifying as dalits within the Hindu system.

YouTube Screengrab: A&E’s original TV series ‘Bates Motel’

Christian Post Report – Fans of the hit psychological thriller drama series “Bates Motel” Season 3 were still kept in the dark as to what really happened about Annika (Tracy Spiridakos) who was last seen driven around town by Norman (Freddie Highmore).

This week, the said issue could still be put in the side line as spoiler reports pointed out the relationship between Norman and Emma (Olivia Cooke) will be on the highlights.

Ecumenical News revealed that in the upcoming episode titled “Persuasion,” Norman will get even closer with his best friend and while their bond gets stronger, another weakens.

Citing TV Guide’s episode summary, it is said that Norman’s relationship with his mother will wither. A sneak peek for this episode released by A&E even pointed out the romance budding between Norman and Emma. Could this create a problem with his mother?

The synopsis meanwhile added that the young Bates will be asked with some hard questions by Romero (Nestor Carbonell).

And no, this couldn’t be about Annika’s disappearance. In fact, the sheriff will inquire about Norman’s teacher, Miss Watson (Keegan Connor Tracy) who disappeared back in Season 1.

For all the mysteries that have been keeping avid followers glued into the show, executive producer Kerry Ehrin said in an interview with TV Guide (Latin Post) that the “worst” should always be expected.

“I think that you should always assume the worst because it is Bates Motel,” said the showrunner. “There’s no reliable narrator and the audience often has to interpret or project what they think something is. The ending was very much designed for that.”

“Bates Motel” airs Monday, 9 p.m. on A&E.

Pope Francis Performs ‘Miracle’ In Naples; Turns Dry Blood to Liquid (Video)

Pope Francis attends a meeting with youths at the seafront during his pastoral visit in Naples March 21, 2015.

Christian Post Report – Pope Francis has been credited with performing a miracle in Naples on Saturday by the Archbishop of Naples, Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe.

During a visit to Naples Cathedral, the pontiff venerated a vial of blood belonging to the Neapolitan patron St. Gennaro, who was once the bishop of Naples until he was martyred in 305, and it began to liquify. The dry blood turned to liquid after the pontiff prayed the “Our Father” over it and kissed the relic, prompting the Archbishop of Naples, Crescenzio Sepe, to declare the rare phenomenon a miracle.

“The blood has half liquified, which shows that Saint Januarius loves our pope and Naples,” said Sepe whilst showing the sealed glass ampoule to congregants.

The pontiff then joked about his failure to secure the full love of St. Gennaro, known in English as St Januarius.

“The bishop just announced that the blood half liquefied. We can see the saint only half loves us. We must all spread the Word, so that he loves us more!” the pontiff said.

The blood of St. Gennaro, who was beheaded during the persecution of Christians under the Roman Emperor Diocletian in 305, last liquefied in the presence of Pope Pius IX in 1848. Back in the day it was common for Christians to collect the blood of their martyrs and store it with the corpse of the deceased.

Believers say that traditionally the relic liquefies three times a year after much prayer on Sept. 19, the saint’s feast day; Dec. 16, and the Saturday before the first Sunday of May. In some instances, there have been reports of this happening up to 18 times a year.

While addressing religious leaders at the cathedral, the pontiff touched on the importance of not giving into temptation and he also likened gossip to terrorism. He had a special message for seminarians.

“If Jesus is not central, postpone the ordination. If you are not sure that Jesus is the center of your life, wait a little longer,” he said.

Also while in Naples, the pontiff met with 8,000 people, spoke out against the mafia and corruption, and shared a meal with 120 prison inmates.

Ronda Rousey UFC 190 News, Update: Beth Correia Will ‘Leave That Arena Embarrassed,’ Says MMA Champ

Ronda Rousey Reuters/File

Ronda Rousey wins the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight title in March 2012.

Christian Post Report – Ronda Rousey, the UFC Women’s current bantamweight champion, is slated to go up against challenger Beth Correia at the upcoming UFC 190 which as reported, will be held at the latter’s home, Brazil, this August 1, 2015.

Aside from the fact that this would be the first time for the 28-year-old undefeated MMA star to fight in an enemy territory, the scheduled bout will also be a personal affair.

Speaking during a press conference, Rousey said the timing has never been so perfect as she opted to defeat Correia in her own home.

“My dad had a great saying when someone needed to be shown what’s up,” the 2008 Beijing Olympics Bronze medalist said. “He would say that this person needs to have a ‘come to Jesus’ meeting. Beth is going to have her own ‘come to Jesus’ meeting in Brazil.”

“I don’t just want to defeat her. I want her to leave that arena embarrassed. And the best way to do it is to come here and to beat her in her own backyard,” she added.

The Rousey-Correia rivalry sparked following the defeat of two of Rousey’s fellow “Horsewomen,” Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler, last year.

“I want to go and fight her in Brazil and beat her in her hometown. That would be the best way I could really feel like I’ve vindicated my friends, to go to her hometown and beat her in her hometown and be total Rocky IV on it,” the mixed martial artist reiterated to Jay Mohr Sports.

“She said she wants to teach me a lesson in Brazil, that she’s going to put a finger in my face — and we all know which finger. But I’ll tell you one thing. She is dealing with a woman with attitude this time,” Correia meanwhile replied in a separate interview.

Tim Tebow Meets Christian Boxing Champion Manny Pacquiao Before Crucial Fight

Floyd Mayweathe Jr. and Manny Pacquiao Reuters/File

Boxing icons Floyd Mayweathe Jr. and Manny Pacquiao present during the press conference for “the biggest fight in boxing history” held in downtown Las Vegas.

Christian Post Report – Former Jets quarterback Tim Tebow met with Manny Pacquiao, a world-famous Filipino professional boxer who is also a vocal Christian like the football star, as the boxing champion prepares for a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in May in Las Vegas.

Tebow and Pacquiao know each other and embraced when Tebow came to the gym Saturday, New York Post quoted Pacquiao spokesman Fred Sternburg as saying.

Tebow, who was born in the Philippines to missionary parents, posted on Instagram pictures of his meeting with the Christian boxer in Pacquiao’s gym.

The Filipino boxer is preparing for a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr., an American professional boxer who is currently undefeated as a professional and is a five-division world champion, on May 2 in Las Vegas.

He recently recounted in a media interview how his life changed after he heard the voice of God and saw two angels, and says he wants the world to know “there is only one way of salvation, only through Jesus Christ.”

“I heard the voice of God and I saw two angels,” Pacquiao, who is also a politician, told TheBlaze.

“When I heard the voice of God I felt like I died. … I was in the middle of the forest and I was kneeling and praying with my face on the ground and then I saw a light, a very white light and I heard the voice,” the 36-year-old boxer, who has won 10 world titles, said.

Pacquiao, the 14th highest paid athlete in the world as of 2013 according to Forbes, added that he doesn’t take credit for his devotion to God. “I’m really thankful that God has given me this kind of a heart,” he said.

Tebow has also talked about the primacy of faith in his life. “You get bashed against the rocks sometimes,” he said earlier. “But when you have a relationship with Christ … One of my favorite quotes is, ‘I don’t know what my future holds, but I know who holds it.’ I know what my rock is. I know who’s holding my future. It’s easy to get hurried and too busy and distracted from your priorities. Mine are faith, family and football, in that order. When those get jumbled up, you’re putting the wrong things first in life.”

President Obama Delivers a Message to the Nigerian People

President Obama released a message to the Nigerian people to highlight the opportunity that the upcoming elections present for all Nigerians to stand together in rejecting violence and extremism and instead show their support for a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous future.

The Message

Hello.  Today, I want to speak directly to you—the people of Nigeria.

Nigeria is a great nation and you can be proud of the progress you’ve made.  Together, you won your independence, emerged from military rule, and strengthened democratic institutions.  You’ve strived to overcome division and to turn Nigeria’s diversity into a source of strength.  You’ve worked hard to improve the lives of your families and to build the largest economy in Africa.

Now you have a historic opportunity to help write the next chapter of Nigeria’s progress—by voting in the upcoming elections.  For elections to be credible, they must be free, fair and peaceful.  All Nigerians must be able to cast their votes without intimidation or fear.

So I call on all leaders and candidates to make it clear to their supporters that violence has no place in democratic elections—and that they will not incite, support or engage in any kind of violence—before, during, or after the votes are counted.  I call on all Nigerians to peacefully express your views and to reject the voices of those who call for violence.  And when elections are free and fair, it is the responsibility of all citizens to help keep the peace, no matter who wins.

Successful elections and democratic progress will help Nigeria meet the urgent challenges you face today.  Boko Haram—a brutal terrorist group that kills innocent men, women and children—must be stopped.  Hundreds of kidnapped children deserve to be returned to their families.  Nigerians who have been forced to flee deserve to return to their homes.  Boko Haram wants to destroy Nigeria and all that you have worked to build.  By casting your ballot, you can help secure your nation’s progress.

I’m told that there is a saying in your country: “to keep Nigeria one is a task that must be done.”  Today, I urge all Nigerians—from all religions, all ethnic groups, and all regions—to come together and keep Nigeria one.  And in this task of advancing the security, prosperity, and human rights of all Nigerians, you will continue to have a friend and partner in the United States of America.
