Healing Always Comes – Kenneth Copeland Devotional 22 March 2019

Topic: Healing Always Comes [Kenneth Copeland Devotional 22 March 2019]

And these signs shall follow them that believe…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. – Mark 16:17-18

I used to get upset over people I’d lay hands on who wouldn’t get well. I was praying one day and seeking God about it when He spoke to my spirit and said, Healing always comes.

I remember I said, “What do You mean, Healing always comes? Not everyone gets healed.”

I didn’t say they all received it, He answered. Then He spoke very sternly to me. I do My part. And I said they would recover!

Those words hit me like a ton of bricks. He said they would recover. He never lies. So if He said they would recover, then that means healing always comes. It’s not God who’s holding back. It’s the receivers who aren’t receiving.

Since then, I’ve never had any trouble laying hands on people and believing for them to be healed. Whether they walk away well or not, I just keep standing in faith for them. In fact, I know if that fellow who went away still sick ever lines his faith up with God and me—I don’t care if it’s five years from now—he’ll be healed.

If you’ve laid hands on someone who didn’t receive his healing, don’t cut off the flow of God’s power by withdrawing your faith. Stand fast. Keep believing that healing always comes and somewhere down the line that poor sick fellow may just decide to stand up and agree with you!

Scripture Reading: Mark 10:46-52

Jesus Shared His Father’s Glory – Andrew Wommack Devotional 22 March 2018

Topic: Jesus Shared His Father’s Glory [Andrew Wommack Devotional 22 March 2019]

John 5:18, “Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.”

Text: John 5:16-27

When the Jewish authorities heard Jesus call God “my (own) Father”, they immediately understood that Jesus claimed for Himself deity in the highest possible sense of that term. That claim was either blasphemy, to be punished by death, or else Jesus was who He claimed to be.

Jesus never associated Himself with His disciples by using the plural pronoun “our” Father. Rather, He always used the singular “my” Father, since His relationship was unique and eternal, whereas theirs was by grace and regeneration.

We should ponder carefully our Lord’s own conception of who He was. He said “I am from above” (Jn. 8:23); “Before Abraham was, I AM” (Jn. 8:58); “I and my Father are one” (Jn. 10:30); “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father” (Jn. 14:9); and “I am not of the world” (Jn. 17:16). He also declared His eternal pre-existence and that He shared the Father’s glory (Jn. 6:62; 17:5).

We can’t just honor Jesus, but we have to honor Him “even as” (in like manner or the same way) we honor the Father. This is what separates true Christianity from the religions of the world. Most religions honor Jesus as a great man (examples: Islam, Unification Church, Jehovah’s Witnesses, etc.), but they are violently opposed to making Jesus equal with Almighty God (1 Jn. 2:23). The names and titles given to Jesus in John’s gospel clearly present Jesus as being equal with God. He is all you need Him to be.

A Pure Heart – Billy Graham Devotional 22 March 2019

Topic: A Pure Heart [Billy Graham Devotional 22 March 2019]

Keep thyself pure. — 1 Timothy 5:22

The Pharisees were not happy men. They had furrowed brows, nervous tension, frustration. They were full of resentments, bitterness, prejudices, and hatreds. Why? Simply because they had lost sight of God’s conception of the pure in heart. They thought that as long as they kept the letter of the law that was enough. But this was not God’s plan. This did not produce purity of heart. This did not bring about happiness of soul. Jesus taught that God looks deeper than the outside actions of an individual. He searches and ponders the heart. God judges not so much the outside as He does the inside. He looks to the motives, thoughts, and intents of your heart.

Prayer for the day: Father, give me purity of heart that in true humility I may serve and praise You.

Chinese Christians Cry after Receiving Their First Bible

Chinese Christians Cry after Receiving Their First Bible

A video showing Chinese Christians shouting for joy and even crying after receiving their first Bibles has sparked a range of emotions from believers in the United States.

International Christian Concern posted the video on its website and on social media this month as part of its new campaign to raise money for Bibles to be sent to countries where Christianity is either outlawed or severely restricted.

“In the West, we often take the Bible for granted, but I recently saw a video … of underground Chinese seminary students receiving their first Bible,” wrote Jeff King, president of International Christian Concern. “When the boxes were opened, they all converged on the box to make sure they got their own copy. Each one then held their Bible, kissed it, and wept. They had finally received the book that gives life!”

The video is at least five years old and shows several dozen Christians in a building opening the box. International Christian Concern said none of the Christians are in danger because of its release.

On Facebook, Christians in the U.S. said the video is convicting.

“If only we had the same zeal as these students,” Susan Elise Pearson wrote on International Christian Concern’s Facebook page.

Added another person, Charity Meyer, “How beautiful. It made me realize how much I take reading and holding my Bible for granted and that my life is…

Trump Declares Israel Has Sovereignty over the Golan Heights

Trump Declares Israel Has Sovereignty over the Golan Heights

President Donald Trump declared Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights in a simple, but direct tweet Thursday.

“After 52 years it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel’s Sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which is of critical strategic and security importance to the State of Israel and Regional Stability!” the president said in the tweet.

According to the Jerusalem Post, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reacted in kind, using the social media platform to announce that “at a time when Iran seeks to use Syria as a platform to destroy Israel, President Trump boldly recognizes Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. Thank you, President Trump!”

The president’s tweet came as U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was in Israel, just weeks before Netanyahu’s contentious re-election bid. During his visit, Pompeo and Netanyahu took aim at Iranian aggression in the region.

“The Ayatollah has declared that the annihilation and destruction of Israel is his primary goal. With such threats a daily reality of Israeli life, we maintain our unparalleled commitment to…

Federal Judge Blocks Kentucky Bill Banning Abortions Based on Sex, Race or Disabilities

Federal Judge Blocks Kentucky Bill Banning Abortions Based on Sex, Race or Disabilities

Kentucky’s governor Matt Bevin signed two bills in recent weeks banning abortions on the basis of race, sex or a disability diagnoses and after a fetal heartbeat can be detected. Motions for injunctions have already been filed against both of the bills – HB5 and SB9 respectively.

The National Review reports that the HB5 “reasons” bill – which Bevin signed into law on Tuesday – contains an “emergency clause” which would have allowed it to go into effect immediately after it was signed.

According to the Associated Press, the American Civil Liberties Union filed a motion on March 15 requesting a preliminary injunction or “temporary restraining order” against the bills, anticipating that Bevin would sign them once they reached his desk.

In the suit filed by the ACLU on behalf of EMW Women’s Surgical Center – Kentucky’s only abortion clinic – the group claims that the bills are “blatantly unconstitutional bans on abortion.”

The suit asserts that the “Plaintiffs will prevail on their claim that the Bans are unconstitutional under 46 years of Supreme Court precedent, beginning with Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973), which unequivocally holds that the State may not ban abortion before the point of fetal viability, regardless of the woman’s reason for her decision.”

“The Bans will cause immediate irreparable harm…

footballer defies odds by talking after brain injury

Christion Abercrombie collapsed during a game with Vanderbilt last September and was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

His teammates and the Vanderbilt team met at the 50-yard line after the game to pray for Abercrombie and his parents prayed in the hospital, expecting a miracle.

After suffering numerous strokes, his family was told by doctors that he might not live through the night.

“I prayed with expectancy because I knew God was going to bless us,” Abercrombie’s mother Staci told WSB-TV.

Now Abercrombie is still recovering, he is determined to complete his degree in sports medicine.

He hopes his story will encourage other injured athletes and had this message for them: “Believe in God because without him nothing is possible. He made everything happen for me.

“I thank God for that every day.”

Abercrombie’s family and Tennessee State University have created a GoFundMe page to help with the cost of rehabilitation.

Alex Trebek and Hailey Bieber: 2 steps to biblical courage

Alex Trebek has announced that he has stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

The legendary Jeopardy! host told his fans, “I’m going to fight this, and I’m going to keep working.” He added courageously, “With the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease.”

On the theme of courage in the news, Martha McSally disclosed this week that she was raped in the Air Force by a superior officer. The ex-pilot and current Arizona senator told an interviewer yesterday that she made her announcement to bring attention to the problem of sexual assaults in the military.

Speaking to other sexual abuse victims, the senator said, “Don’t let your assaulter rob you of your future. Don’t do it.” She hopes that telling her story will “inspire others to get through their own dark times.”

Since the Pentagon recently reported that incidents of sexual assault at military academies are up by nearly 50 percent, Sen. McSally’s statement is even more significant and urgent.

Hailey Bieber’s life mission

Living as fallen people with other fallen people on a fallen planet requires courage.

Supermodel Hailey Bieber recently discussed her life mission, declaring that the “bigger purpose” behind her modeling career is “to be a light in this place.” She added: “I’m here to represent Jesus through me for other people—for His will to be done.”

Meanwhile, a pro-life mother has started a fashion brand called “Culture of Life.” She told an interviewer that she and her daughters have always had a passion for shopping. When they learned that many of their favorite clothing lines were supporting Planned Parenthood, she began her own brand.

(For a list of more than forty fashion designers who support Planned Parenthood, see this Forbes article.)

“Not knowing where he was going”

Courage is a consistent theme…

Why did this high school wrestler’s video go viral?

Hunter Wallace is a wrestler at Northwest High School in Justin, a suburb of Fort Worth, Texas. He didn’t win a single match this year, but he is the captain of his team. His coach explains why: “Hunter’s one of those kids that leads by example. He’s always positive. I’ve never heard the kid complain.”

Hunter also has cerebral palsy.

As the reporter who told his story says, Hunter has “an upper body built like an ox, but wobbly legs.” Nonetheless, he wanted to do squats to get stronger. A video of his workout went viral.

Hunter explains: “You got the right mentality, heart, and God in front of you, nothing will stop you. You just gotta push through it.” He adds: “I’m just like a normal person. God made me who I am.”

“Enemy-occupied territory”

Affliction finds us all.

World leaders and citizens from more than thirty countries are mourning the loss of 157 people who died when their Ethiopian Airlines jet crashed yesterday morning. The victims included at least thirty-two Kenyans, eighteen Canadians, nine each from Ethiopia and France, eight each from the US, China, and Italy, and seven from the UK.

Meanwhile, the Islamic State is losing its last territorial foothold, but terrorism experts believe that jihadis will continue their activities around the world. In related news, the Wall Street Journal reports that Osama bin Laden’s son, Hamza, is an emerging leader in al Qaeda. According to the State Department, he has been calling on followers to carry out attacks on the US and has been declared a Specially Designated Global Terrorist.

C. S. Lewis explained the reason for the adversity we face every day: “This is a civil war, a rebellion, and . . . we are living in a part of the universe occupied by the rebel. Enemy-occupied territory—that is what this world is.”

The good news is that, like Hunter Wallace, when we trust God in our afflictions, our rebellious world takes note….

Teen Boy Undressing in Girls’ Locker Room Sparks Title IX Complaint

Teen Boy Undressing in Girls’ Locker Room Sparks Title IX Complaint

An attorney filed a Title IX complaint last week on behalf of a 15-year-old female high school student who says her rights were violated when the school allowed a biological male to dress and undress in the girls’ locker room.

The girl is a student at Honesdale High School in Pennsylvania, within the Wayne Highlands School District.

“By permitting a male to enter girls’ locker rooms, restrooms, and other privacy areas, the Wayne Highlands School District deprived all female students of the constitutionally protected right of bodily privacy, created a harassing and hostile environment for girls, and discriminated against girls,” reads the complaint, filed with the U.S. Department of Education.

Further, it says, by “forcing girls to undress in front of a male student,” the school district “created an environment where sexual harassment occurred and continues to occur daily.”

The district policy of allowing biological boys to dress in a locker room for girls is “in violation of the Wayne Highlands School District’s obligations under Title IX,” the complaint says. The policy permits transgender teens to use locker rooms and bathrooms that correspond with their preferred gender.

Attorney Andrea L. Shaw says in the complaint that the teen girl was “changing in the girls’ locker room before her gym class” on Sept. 17, 2018, when she “heard a…
