Church members play a role in revitalization. Their attitudes and actions must reflect an openness to reaching others. Today, we discuss nine commitments they must make to see revitalization in a church.

This Week’s Question:

FROM WADE — Podcast #056 grappled with the uniqueness of a calling to revitalizing a church. You offered helpful up-front points to the would-be revitalizing pastor. Would you flip the coin on to the reverse side and build out the attitudes and commitments of a congregation and its leadership that desires revitalization?

Episode Highlights:

  • One of the greatest joys of corporate worship is leaving our personal preferences at the door and being led together.
  • If you’re not serving in your church, you’re not really being an active member of your church.
  • The deeper in love you are with Christ, the more you will want to serve others.
  • Dying churches anesthetize the pain of dying with busyness and activity.

The nine commitments we cover are:

  1. I will move from “I am” to I will”
  2. I will worship with others
  3. I will grow together with others
  4. I will serve
  5. I will go
  6. I will give generously
  7. I will not be a church dropout
  8. I will avoid the traps of churchianity
  9. I will make a difference

Resources mentioned in this episode include:

Controversy over fines on rough sleepers in Manchester

Former Liberal Democrat MP for Manchester Withington, John Leech, who now leads the opposition on Manchester Council, said: “Richard Leese, the leader of Manchester Council, described Christmas as ‘peak begging season’, the council claimed soup kitchens organised by communities and outreach teams are a ‘bad idea’ whilst fining and trying to sue the homeless, spending £10,000 on one-way tickets to get rid of rough sleepers, refusing to build affordable and social housing and claiming the only way to tackle ‘offenders’ is to fine them”.

Premier contacted the Labour council in Manchester about these claims, who responded by saying: “There is absolutely no proposal to prohibit rough sleeping, or indeed begging, and it is wholly misleading to suggest there is.

“Our absolute priority remains to support anyone who is in need and connect them with the services which can help them move forwards in their lives, while making clear that certain very specific behaviours will not be accepted.

“What is proposed is to address aggressive begging and certain anti-social behaviours associated with a small minority of people which have a direct detrimental [affect] on the quality of life of people living in the city centre, for example, obstructing the entrances or stairways of their homes or carelessly discarding used needles and syringes.”

The main criticism made by the Lib Dems regards the Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs), which prohibit specific behaviours in…

How to get a marriage license at baggage claim

If you’re planning to get married today in Las Vegas, you can apply for your marriage license here, then pick it up at the baggage claim area at the airport. Alternately, if you or your travel partner is named “Valentine,” you can get free air travel to Iceland today.

A “Smooches from Pooches” kissing booth is waiting for you at Asheville Regional Airport in North Carolina. Master violinist Patrick Contreras will serenade you at Fresno Yosemite International Airport in California. If you forgot to get a Valentine’s Day card for your loved one, you might head to Chicago Midway Airport, where they’re distributing free cards today.

“Love others like God loves them.”

As Janet Denison noted in her blog, the history and legends surrounding Valentine’s Day remind us that today is “a perfect holiday to allow God to use you as a witness to his perfect love. Love God with everything in you. Love others like God loves them. Let people know you are a Christian this Valentine’s Day by sharing God’s perfect love with them.”

God’s word repeatedly calls us to love as we are loved:

  • “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another” (John 13:34; cf. John 15:12).
  • “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love” (1 John 4:7-8).
  • “Love one another with brotherly affection” (Romans 12:10).
  • “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly” (1 Peter 4:8).

Why is it hard to do what God calls us to do?

Three enemies of unconditional love

Three cultural factors conspire together against experiencing and sharing God’s unconditional love.

One: Americans have separated Sunday from Monday, so we don’t think God’s love is relevant to the “real world.”

Centuries before Christ, Greek philosophers began separating the soul from the body…

The Altar of Destiny Obituary by Pastor D.K Olukoya

MOUNTAIN OF FIRE AND MIRACLES MINISTRIES
YOUTH CONNECT SERVICE
TOPIC: THE ALTAR OF DESTINY OBITUARY
TEXT: I CORINTHIANS 3:16-18, I CORINTHIANS 16:15-20
DATE: SUNDAY, 03-02-2019
VENUE: MFM HQ YOUTH CHURCH

Happy New Year to you in Jesus name.

Today, I’d be speaking on the altar of destiny obituary. It is pertinent to know that destiny is a key and crucial matter. Due to this, three entities are interested in it:

  1. God: God is interested in destiny because that’s the sole reason for your creation;
  2. Man: Man wants to find fulfilment and as such, its an object of his interest;
  3. The Devil: The Devil too is interested in your destiny because he knows quite well that once he succeeds in diverting you from it, all your noise in church about your superiority over him is just empty breeze. He clearly understands that God cannot bless you in a place that He hasn’t called you to be. For many here, their angels of breakthrough are waiting at a bus stop from which they had already departed.

Facts on Destiny:

  1. It is God’s pre-ordained future for you;
  2. It is God’s plan for your life;
  3. It is the purpose for which you were born;
  4. It is your divine blueprint;
  5. It is what is written in the book of heaven concerning your life.

It is for these reasons that you must discover and work on it early in life. One tragedy of life is that it is a disaster to do the right thing at the wrong time. Listen beloved, there can be no success outside one’s divine destiny. Any success one claims to have outside their divine destiny is a journey to bondage from which they might never recover. Once a person is out of destiny, the devil loses interest in them because he knows that person is practically finished.

The Altar of Pre-marital and Non-marital Sex:

Two potent and devastatingly dangerous weapons the enemy employs in capturing destinies are:

  1. Sex and;
  2. Drugs.

However, of the two, the more potent is sex. The enemy seems to have done an outpouring of the spirit of the dog. Categorically speaking, this has become a ‘doggy’ generation. It causes me deep worry and grief especially when I consider the rate at which young people die (physically and destiny-wise).

From experiences gathered in the past year, it is with great sadness in my heart, that I lament the horrible scale of destruction outpoured on the youths of today. Sadly, I recently got to hear of the burial of a university student. The ostentatious life of her friends appealed to her and not long after she was introduced to a sex partner who would prey on her lust for mundane things. To cut a long story short, she died from excessive lactation.

Another tragic incident is that of a young man currently awaiting my arrival at the headquarters. This young fellow was literally free as his parents had gone overseas. He brought home a sex partner from a party who unknown to him was a mermaid. He discovered after several rounds that he felt a cold sensation around his leg area. Long story short, he now knows that he is doomed.

The altar of sex is an altar which has created a great level of impurity, caused a great level of pollution, created a future time bomb, shaven the hair of so many a Samson, caused irrecoverable loss of glory and destiny, created the most chronic deliverance cases, initiated hidden infirmities, and spread the seed of polygamy.

It has provoked generational evil accusations, caused catastrophe in children, initiated bewitched womb, attracted curses to the body’s organs, transformed a person to a slave in the spirit realm, and caused plenty of spiritual evil collection.

Beloved, this altar acts to fragment souls, it ensures shining lights are dimmed, it has encouraged family idolatry, turned prophets to parrots, rendered pastors past tense, turned goldmines to dustbins, reconfigured deliverance to disturbance, converted eagles to chickens and heroes to zeroes.
It has rewired young people’s brain to failure, initiated destructive covenants, punctured virtue balloons, placed many young people on death row, initiated many young people into witchcraft.

It has empowers stubborn spirit wives and husband, programed destiny impotence and stammering, it has a capacity to provoke divine anger, wasted prophets and prophetesses, converted somebody into nobody, programmed serpents into so many lives, buried multiple talents, moved people from grace to grass, de-anointed men of God aggressively.

This altar provokes power failure, empowers the marine world to wreak havoc and finally published the greatest number of obituaries.

Listen beloved, people of destiny are not sexually loose. Women of destiny, do not pull off their pants at the slightest provocation. Same goes with men of destiny, they never plunge their penis into just any available hole. Listen carefully, there is no free sex. Every sexual act is a spiritual transaction. Pre-marital or non-marital sex exposes one’s life to the attacks of the enemy as it signals to the demons that you’ve crossed into the spirit realm illegally.

One such case that tragically ended in death was the story of a man who slept with his secretary. Unknown to him the secretary happened to be a marine queen. As instructed by the Holy Ghost that fateful day, a word of prophecy came forth. It was that he should report to my office for prayers after service and that failure to comply would signal his end within seven days. However, since his wife was with him, he tried without success to devise tricks to shake her off. With every attempt of his, she insistently wouldn’t budge. He opted not to come as he wanted to keep it a secret from her. Unfortunately, he died the following Tuesday.

Hear this friends, any act of pre or non-marital sex is highly dangerous. To confirm what you already know so well, during sexual adventures, humans share bodily fluids like water and blood. However, it doesn’t end there. They share some spiritually vital and physically relevant virtues, more so, heritage, destiny, children, success, failure, battle, misfortunes, sicknesses, pains, discomforts, poverty pretty much everything. But most importantly, demons. I’d let you in on a secret today, know for a surety that the greatest mode of demon transfer is sex outside marriage.

I have an advice to the soon-to-be-wedded lovebirds, I urge you not to build your marriage on a faulty foundation. Except on the basis of marriage, all other acts of sexual adventures are illicit. Listen, even if both families signatory to the wedding have a cordial relationship, know for sure that this isn’t a license for you to engage in sexual adventures, only marriage is. Desisting from any such acts only works in your favor.

The Mystery of DNA and Sex:

Experimental results from a research conducted by a University in America reveals that if you have sex with a man, his DNA lives in you forever. The result of this research has informed and given immense insight on why God frowns at pre and non-marital sex. This result proves that when sexual intercourse occurs between a male and a female, there is a deposit of the DNA of the man in the woman. Furthermore, the man who has had more sex with her, leaves more of his DNA in the woman and as such whenever the woman ovulates, the eggs that she produces may contain more of other DNAs. Judging by the results of this experiment, it is hugely advisable that the girl child remains a virgin until marriage. Suffice to say that once a lady has multiple sex partners, it becomes a room of confusion as her cells becomes reconfigured. Little wonder, children from many homes have terrible behavioral problems.

Ladies, listen carefully, whenever you absorb sperm from a man, you absorb a living entity into your life. The living cells enter your bloodstream. This could perhaps be the reason as to why a married couple who have been married for so long a time end up looking alike. Say no to sex outside marriage, say no to pre and extra-marital affairs.

On a conclusive note, the consequences of pre-marital and non-marital sex are devastating, humiliating and horrible. Reuben, David and a host of others landed in deep troubles because of sexual looseness. Of what essence is it if you are plagued by feelings of guilt, self-condemnation, anxiety, doubt, wasted time, testimony damage etc. Don’t acquire a demon of your sexual partners. Flee all forms of sexual perversion.

I urge you beloved to please rise above these limitations. Till next time. Peace.

Prayer Points:

  1. Powers saying that I will not go far, your time is up, die in the name of Jesus.
  2. Powers waiting to hear me cry where I expect laughter, before I leave here, die in the name of Jesus.
  3. Powers assigned to waste my destiny, die in the name of Jesus.

Man convicted over death of 100-year-old Christian pensioner who survived Holocaust

Zofija Kaczan, a Nazi prison camp survivor, died in hospital on 6th June 2018 from pneumonia – a condition brought on by injuries she sustained in the attack one week previously.

The Polish-born Christian was left bleeding in a street after being knocked to the ground and having her handbag stolen by 40-year-old Artur Waszkiewicz. She had been on her way to church.

A spokeswoman for the Polish community of St Maksymilian Kolbe said: “Despite the pain and suffering that she was in for the last week of her life, she had the capacity to pray for her attacker before she died.

“We believe she has found peace in the arms of her Heavenly Father.”

Mr Waszkiewicz from Hilary Road in Shepherd’s Bush, west London is being told to expect a “lengthy” jail term when he is sentenced at Derby Crown Court on Thursday.

Derbyshire Police/PA Wire

Ms Kaczan suffered multiple injuries – including a broken neck and cheekbone – in the attack in the Normanton area of Derby.

She survived a Nazi labour camp during World War II where she was forced to work in factories and even received the death penalty on her birthday.

Derbyshire Police/PA Wire

The spokeswoman for the Polish community of St Maksymilian Kolbe continued: “We would like to thank all the people who have been involved in bringing the perpetrator of the crime against Zofija Kaczan to…

Male speakers ‘still dominate UK Christian conferences’

In its latest annual report, the Project 3:28 initiative – which advocates for 50/50 gender representation – concluded 62 per cent in 2018 were male (38 per cent were female).

Authors named the Premier Digital Awards (52 per cent male/48 per cent female), Greenbelt (45/55) and New Wine (56/44) among those who offered the most equitable mix of male and female speakers in 2018.

Its authors said: “It is six years since we began gathering data on the number of women and men speaking at Christian events, and so we wanted to celebrate those events that have most increased the equity of their platform over the past six years.”

Word Alive (87/13), the Keswick Convention (85/15) and Bible by the Beach (79/21) were found to be among the “least balanced” platforms.

Some 1,337 speakers were included in the latest statistics. Of them, 823 were male, while 514 were female.

The number of events included in the research has grown – from 25 events in 2017 to 34 last year.

Only speakers listed in adult programmes were included in the figures – worship leaders, as well as the leaders of child and youth sessions were excluded.

11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

LESSON INTRODUCTION:

Having discovered the forms and causes of domestic violence, it is important that we critically examine the consequences as well as the remedies for domestic violence. It should be noted that regardless of the forms or causes of violence, God hates those who love violence (Psalms 11:5). Believers are encouraged to abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good, be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another. Romans 12:9-10.

TEXT REVIEW: Romans 12:9-12- “GOODBYE TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE”.

Apostle Paul identified ten(10) remedies that could eradicate domestic violence through the umbrella of love :

  1. True and sincere love. Romans 12;9a.
  2. Distance yourself from evil. Romans 12:9b.
  3. Cleave to good. Romans 12:9c.
  4. Be kind-hearted with brotherly love. Romans 12:10a.
  5. Honour others better than yourself. Romans 12:10b.
  6. Never be lacking in zeal. Romans 12:11a.
  7. Be fervent in the spirit and serve the Lord. Romans 12:11b.
  8. Rejoice in hope ( trusting in God that all will be well). Romans 12:12a.
  9. Be patient in tribulation/affliction (Believing that solution is near. Romans 12:12b.
  10. Continue to be faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12c.

These doses have been divinely tested and trusted.

2 LESSON OUTLINES

LESSON OUTLINE 1: CONSEQUENCES OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Domestic violence is different from discipline.
The following are some of the consequences of domestic violence:

i. Sin and divine rejection. Gen. 4:7
ii. Hindered or unanswered prayer.1 Peter 3:7.
iii. Contradiction of doctrines. 1 Tim. 6:3-4.
iv. Shame and condemnation. Obadiah 10.
v. Depression and psychology stress. Gen. 32:7-8.
vi. Guilt, hatred and trauma. 2 Sam.13:15, 18-20.
vii. Loss of self-esteem/confidence 2 Sam.13:19-20.
viii. Isolation, dissociation. Gen. 13:7-9 and absent mindedness.
ix. Decreased productivity. Prov. 12:4.
x. Broken homes ( separation, divorce etc). Malachi 2:16.
xi. Health related issues. Proverbs 17:22.
xii. Loss of life ( suicide or murder). 2 Sam.13:28; Gen. 4:8 and property.

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Differentiate between domestic violence and discipline.

LESSON OUTLINE 2: REMEDIES FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

A. THE CASE OF ON-GOING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Teacher should carefully lead the students through the following remedies or guidelines if domestic violence or abuse has been identified in a home:

i. Safety issue must be considered quickly to avoid loss of life.
ii. Factors leading to violence must be identified and discusses or treated with utmost wisdom.
iii. Parties involved must be willing to forgive wholeheartedly
iv. For proper healing of the pains, physical and psychological Christian counselor would be required.

B. PREVENTION OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/REMEDIES.

i. Following God involves serving others, not manipulating and controlling them (Matt.20:26-28). Apply wisdom in dealing with members of your household. Prov.24:2-6/1 Peter 3:7.
ii. Christians are called to sacrificially love others, especially those in their own families. John 13:34; Eph.5:1-2.
iii. Be positive about one another. 1Thess. 5:13b; Phil.2:3.
iv. Communicate deeply at all times but avoid corrupt languages. Prov.25.9; Col.4:6; Eph.4:29. Do not go to bed without settling disputes.. Eph.4:26.
v. Pray against/about conflict (Matt.26:41)..Be sober and vigilant against satanic strategies.

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: What role can sacrificial love play in curbing domestic violence.

SUMMARY: Be at peace with all men, and holiness, without which no one can see God. Hebrews 12:14

CONCLUSION: Domestic violence hurts the heart of God. Family is meant to reflect God’s love. It saddens Him when a home turns into place of pain. God’s desire for those involved in domestic violence, both the victims and abusers, is healing and wholeness.

EVALUATION: Mention three (3) consequences and remedies for domestic violence.

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, give Your children grace to give peace and love chances in their homes.

ASSIGNMENT: Explain/give five (5) suggestions on how homes globally can be free from domestic violence. .

Joyce Meyer Devotional 14 February 2019 — Start a Blessing Box

Topic: Start a Blessing Box [Joyce Meyer Devotional 14 February 2019]

Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding. — Proverbs 3:13

Here’s an idea: Get yourself a big box and start going through your possessions, asking God to show you what you have that you can use to bless others. Fill it up with things that are nice but that you no longer need.

Look in cabinets, drawers, closets, the basement, and the garage. You will fill up your box quickly! Don’t keep something for years in case you ever need it—if you’re anything like me, by the time you need it, you will have forgotten that you have it and go buy another one anyway.

Take the clutter that is frustrating you and turn it into blessings. Keep the box in a handy place and start asking God to show you who needs to be blessed.

One woman I know, who is a radical giver, got all the things together she wanted to use to bless people and displayed them on her kitchen table. She invited several friends over and told them to take anything they wanted from the table. She urged them to keep on taking until everything was gone.

I encourage you to be a giver and look for ways in which you can use what you have to be a blessing to others.

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank You so much for Your goodness and blessings in my life. Help me to always be mindful of other people’s needs and look for creative ways to share Your blessing with others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Seeds of Destiny 14 February 2019 Devotional – The Bondage-Breaking Power of God

Topic: The Bondage-Breaking Power of God [Seeds of Destiny 14 February 2019 Devotional]

SCRIPTURE: And it shall come to pass in that day, “that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” Isaiah 10:27

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Fasting combined with prayer is key to terminating captivity.

Yesterday, we saw that no matter the negative situation you might be passing through, God is interested in bringing it to an end. God is ready to set us free from every bondage and captivity of life. We also saw three keys to terminating bondage; we saw that the decision to be born again, engaging the power of God’s Word and praise are keys to terminating captivities.

In order to make further explorations into the keys to terminating captivities, “we shall look at three more keys”:

  1. The power of sacrifice
Sacrifice is a captivity terminator and bondage breaker (Psalms 126:1-6, Genesis 8:20-21). The sacrifice on the altar takes away curses from the land. Sacrifice also turns around the battles of life.
  2. The power of fasting
Fasting undoes “heavy burdens, loosens the bands of wickedness and lets the oppressed go free” (Isaiah 58:6). Fasting combined with prayer is key to terminating captivity (Matthew 17:21).
  3. The power of the prophetic covering
Your prison tenure can expire by your prophetic cover (Hosea 12:13). The children of Israel were preserved by the prophetic cover over their lives and were also brought out of captivity by the same cover.
  4. The power of the anointing
The anointing breaks bondages and destroys yokes (Acts 10:38, Isaiah 10:27). Anointing in this context is not just the oil but the Presence of God that flows through the oil. The Anointing is the Spirit and Presence of God on a man’s life.
Beloved, my counsel is, maximize the power of sacrifice, fasting, prophetic cover and the anointing to terminate every form of captivity in your life.

Remember this: Fasting combined with prayer is key to terminating captivity.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Make up your mind to engage the power of sacrifice and fasting to terminate your captivity.
  2. Never neglect prophetic cover; maintain the Presence of God in your life.

PRAYER: O Lord, I ask for the grace to combine the power of sacrifice, fasting, prophetic covering and the anointing to break every form of captivity in my life, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, “GET THIS MESSAGE”: BREAKING THE FORCES OF CAPTIVITY

AMAZING FACT: A cow produces 200 times more gas a day than a person.

TODAY IN HISTORY: 14/02/1929 – Penicillin was discovered on this day.

DAILY READING: Exodus 37:1 to 38:31, Matthew 28:1 to 20, Psalm 34:11 to 22, Proverbs 9:9 to 10.

Power of Sanctification by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Power of Sanctification by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Topic: Power of Sanctification

Sanctification is a process by which are Christian believer is made holy through the help of the Holy Spirit. It is the importation of divine grace whereby we possess the nature of God and are made holy to live a pure life. It is the core of Christianity; the master key to fulfillment in life. It is sanctification that enhances beauty, and beauty attracts glorification.

Psalms 66:18 (KJV) If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

Sanctification gives you victory over sin and guarantees answers to prayers; it is the bridge between your prayers and the answers. Saying NO to sin is simply a process of grace by which a believer is separated from sin, becomes dedicated to God’s righteousness and set apart for a sacred purpose.

2 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

Sanctification strengthens your intimacy with God.

Also Read: Excellent Service by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Isaiah 59:1-2 (KJV) Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Clean up from those things that will easily beset you.

Hebrews 12:1 (KJV) Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

For God to perform wonder, you must sanctify yourself.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Nothing hinders God’s blessings like sin. It takes sanctification to enjoy beauty and the blessings God has in stock for us.

There are two things involved in sanctification: Man’s Part and God’s part

You must separate yourself from sin and dedicate yourself to God. This is very important if you are on God’s own side.

2 Timothy 2:21 (KJV) If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

Until you purge yourself, you cannot be sanctified. Asking God for blessing when you are not sanctified is like pouring water into a basket. In sanctification, you yield yourself to obey the Lord’s instruction which helps you to live healthier, holier, happier and a productive Christian life.

1 Thessalonians 4:7 (KJV) For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

Accepting the responsibility to live a holy life secures your destiny. God’s part is ever ready and settled to help us. God will do His part when you do your part; He will never fail.

God bless you.
