Fast food chain inspired by Christian values is barred from campus

Rider University in the US state of Jersey barred Chick-fil-A on the basis of its “widely perceived… opposition to the LGBTQ+ community”.

But the company, which is closed for business on Sundays, said its branches “welcome everyone” and it has “no policy of discrimination”.

A spokesperson told CBS News: “Chick-fil-A is a restaurant company focused on food, service and hospitality, and our restaurants and licensed locations on college campuses welcome everyone

“We have no policy of discrimination against any group, and we do not have a political or social agenda.”

The chief executive of Chick-fil-A, Dan Cathy, drew criticism in 2012 when he said the company supported the “biblical definition of the family unit”.

Mr Cathy’s father, Samuel Truett Cathy, a Baptist, founded the business in 1946.

Some weeks ago, Rider University undertook a survey to ask students which new restaurant franchise they would like to see open on campus.

It later withdrew Chick-fil-A as one an options in the interests of creating a “welcoming environment”.

In a statement, President Gregory Dell’Omo said: “We sought to be thoughtful and fair in balancing the desire to provide satisfying options for a new on-campus restaurant while also being faithful to our values of inclusion.

Major landmarks to turn red for religious persecution ‘martyrs’

Other landmarks across the UK and around the world including churches, schools and universities are also set to join the annual Red Wednesday campaign.

Mervyn Thomas, the chief executive of Christians Solidarity Worldwide (CSW), one of the organisers, told Premier: “The red is [symbolic] for the blood of the martyrs.

“What we’re trying to do on Red Wednesday is let the world known that we’re standing with them in solidarity and in prayer.”

Red Wednesday has been spearheaded by the Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), which estimates 61 per cent of the global population live in countries where religious freedoms are not respected.

Thousands of people are set to take part – some by expressing their solidarity on social media or wearing a red item of clothing.

Mervyn Thomas from CSW continued: “Red Wednesday is a time for us to remember those who are persecuted for their faith around the world – whether that’s Christians or those of other faiths as well.”

Joyce Meyer Devotional 28 November 2018 — Determine Your Priorities

Topic: Determine Your Priorities [Joyce Meyer Devotional 28 November 2018]

The best way to determine if God is first in your life is to slow down and ask yourself some simple questions: What do I think about the most? What do I pray and talk about the most? What do I do with my time?

You see, we always make time for what we really want to do—no matter how busy we are. If you want to spend time with God, then you are going to make Him a priority.

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where your priorities are out of line. Then allow His conviction to motivate you to seek a deeper relationship with God. It is God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, Who will give you the ability to adjust your lifestyle and bring it in line with the Word (see 1 Thessalonians 5:23 NLT).

If you truly want Him to, He will enable you to put God first in your thoughts, conversations, and actions. You may need to make some changes in your schedule, but they will be ones that will produce good results.

Prayer Starter: Lord, I want to put You first in my life. Help me to prioritize my schedule and make the necessary changes to spend more time with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

MFM Daily Devotional 28 November 2018 – Rejecting The Tail Anointing

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 28 November 2018 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Rejecting The Tail Anointing

TOPIC: Rejecting The Tail Anointing (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 28 November 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 28:11-14

MEMORY VERSE: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. – 3 John 2

The MESSAGE:

To reject is to say ‘NO’ and refuse to have, take and recognise. It is to refuse to grant or accept and to discard as useless. Anointing is power and it is the oil for empowerment. When anointing comes upon a person, power comes on that person. With ease, things can be done, and what could not be done ordinarily would be achieved without stress. Godly anointing can be described as anointing to be the head and while the agenda of the devil is to keep us at the tail region. The Scripture mentions two positions- the head and the tail. It means God knows there is an “anointing” not from Him, called the tail anointing. I pray that as you go today, you shall always be the head and not the tail. He specifically mentioned that if you obey, you would be the head and not the tail. Anointing of the tail falls on an individual when he disobeys God. It is this tail anointing that we are called to deny from operating in our lives.

Anointing of the tail causes negative activities around the victim, makes it easy for the victim to fail and miss divine blessings. The victim will always be the last to receive any benefit and may not even receive at all. As a student, one with the anointing of the tail will always take the last position in class. Even among a group of prosperous friends, the person with the anointing of the tail will achieve the least. The consequences of the anointing of the tail include: poverty, lack of spiritual growth, absence of positive achievement, lack of profit, absence of helpers, praying with little or no results, focusing on wrong things, disaster, affliction and frustration which may eventually lead to death.

As a believer ordained to be an overcomer, you have to reject the anointing of the tail, especially if any of the consequences is manifesting in your life right now. For it to be rejected, you need to make up your mind to obey God in all things and be available for God’s use.

When one is operating under the anointing of the tail, everything will go wrong for such a person. Anytime the person tries to do anything good or gets a thing that will move his life forward, he loses it. The anointing of the tail is the work of the devil. As Jesus Christ said that the work of the devil is to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus brings life in abundance. If there are manifestations of anointing of the tail in any area of your life, call on God that can transform.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
WORK HARD AND BECOME A LEADER, BE LAZY AND BECOME A SLAVE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LADDER.

PROPHETIC WORD:
You shall lead, you shall shine, and you shall not be enslaved in the valley of life.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. Powers enforcing the anointing of the tail upon my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
2. Anointing of the tail operating in my life, dry up, in the name of Jesus.
3. If my head lacks anointing of ease, O Lord, release it upon me anew, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. If my head is dry, Holy Spirit, my head is available, anoint me tonight, in the name of Jesus.
5. Inherited destiny killers, always dragging me to tail region, die, in the name of Jesus.
6. Lay your hands on your head and declare, “my head, receive anointing of ease and move me forward”, in the name of Jesus.

Come Up Hither – Abraham’s Divine Encounter By Pastor Paul Enenche

2018 KINGDOM, POWER AND GLORY WORLD CONFERENCE – DAY 1 – 26TH NOVEMBER 2018
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S): GENESIS 12:1-5
MESSAGE TOPIC: COME UP HITHER – ABRAHAM’S DIVINE ENCOUNTER
By: Dr. Paul Enenche

SESSION OBJECTIVES:
1. Understanding the results of Abraham’s encounter
2. Understanding reasons for Abraham’s encounter
One of the forces responsible for the lift up and shift up of life is the force of Divine encounter
Abraham, Moses, David & Solomon all had Divine encounters and their lives shifted up

THE RESULTS OF ABRAHAM’S DIVINE ENCOUNTER:
1. The breaking of a generational curse (Gen. 11:27-30, 31-32)
The curses broken were the curses of dying before time, living without relevance and starting without finishing (Gen. 11:31-32)
Only one encounter with God is enough to counter the agenda of the enemy

2. The reversal of a negative cycle (Gen. 11:28, 31; 12:5)
Haran died before his father Terah (Gen. 11:28)

3. The upgrade of spirituality (Josh. 24:2)

4. The fulfilment of generational destiny
Mantles can never be lost!
From today forward, don’t move with the consciousness of a person but the consciousness of the fact that you represent a lineage and a generation!

5. The beginning of a new order
It was the beginning of a covenant people
One encounter with God turns a person into a pacesetter and road pointer

SECRETS OF ABRAHAM’S DIVINE ENCOUNTER:
1. Sensitivity to the Voice of God (Gen. 12:1,5; 22:1-4)
God cannot do the right thing at the wrong place; many have the vision but miss the direction
Hearing, knowing and seeing what God is saying is not a luxury, it is a necessity of life and destiny
To be a person given to fasting and praying who now marries a person given to feasting and playing is signature for disaster! And many have missed it in life, ministry and marriage by not hearing from God.
Fasting and praying + feasting and playing = cataster (catastrophe and disaster)!
One acre in God’s plan is better than a thousand acres outside of God’s plan!

Also Read: The Power of the Blessing by Pastor Paul Enenche

2. Unconditional obedience
God knew that Abraham will not argue with Divine instructions
Many analyze Divine instructions until they paralyze their destination
If men haven’t mocked you then God cannot make you; the mockery of men facilitates the making of God

PRAYERS
Father, thank You for Your Word to us tonight

Father, in the Name of Jesus, I ask oh God that You will dissolve every impossibility out of my life Lord, in Jesus’ Name

Father, sharpen my sensitivity; sharpen my seeing, hearing and knowing. I cannot afford to miss steps all the time. The grace to see, hear and know, I receive it Lord, in Jesus’ Name

Father, I apply for the grace for obedience; let me never struggle to obey You, do Your Will or follow Your plan Lord, in Jesus’ Name (Rom. 1:5)

Father, give me a Divine encounter today to break every generational curse in my life and family, to reverse every negative cycle, an encounter for the upgrade of my spirituality, an encounter to release me from negative backgrounds and to fulfil my generation’s destiny and a Divine encounter for the beginning of a new order in my life; I receive it NOW!

Father, give me a life changing and destiny changing encounter, in Jesus’ Name

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
– In this week long conference every generational curse you came here with shall be broken!
– Everything programmed against your life to cause you to die before your time, today it is arrested! Your father shall not bury you and you shall not bury your children!
– That negative cycle in your family, the Divine encounter here shall break it! Every negative pattern noticed in your family, tonight it shall be broken!
– God shall use you to reverse the negative patterns of your family; you shall start the journey and you shall finish the journey!
– The witchcraft of your father’s house shall never stop you anymore!
– You are shifting in levels!
– Tonight, everything fighting you from your lineage shall be roasted by fire!
– The mantle on your family that the devil saw and fought your fathers, I am here to announce, by the authority of Jesus, what stopped your fathers will never be able to stop you!
– You shall accomplish the abandoned destiny of your fathers! Everything your fathers were meant to achieve that they could not achieve, you shall achieve it in addition to what God wants you to achieve!
– Where your father stopped shall be your starting point! Where the devil stopped the people in your lineage is where you shall be starting from!
– All the devils that killed people in your family before their time, you shall handle them! They shall pay for it!
– Everything held back from your lineage shall be delivered into your hands!
– Whatever the devil took from your family and your lineage is coming back a thousand fold!
– You will be the beginning of something!
– God will make you a reference of the blessing, of power, prosperity and of the Covenant!
– Something that has not happened before, that beats the imagination, something original that will take the world and the devil by surprise, God shall start it with you!
– The sensitivity needed to know what God wants you to do is released right now!
– That negative pattern in your life is broken! It is reversed!
– I declare your shift and your upgrade spiritually!
– That mantle on your family that the devil tried to steal or divert, by the mantle of God upon my life, it is restored!
– Every manipulation of the enemy trying to fight your life and destiny is over forever!
– You shall become one of those from this conference that shall become a reference point in your family and community!
– From his night forward, ears, eyes and hearts are opened! The grace for obedience is released!

Our Daily Bread 28 November 2018 Devotional – A Solid Foundation

Topic: A Solid Foundation [Our Daily Bread 28 November 2018 Devotional]

Read: Matthew 7:24–27, Bible in a Year: Ezekiel 33–34; 1 Peter 5

Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. Matthew 7:24

Last summer my husband and I toured Fallingwater, a house in rural Pennsylvania designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Wright wanted to create a home that rose organically out of the landscape, as if it could have grown there—and he accomplished his goal. He built the house around an existing waterfall, and its style mirrors the neighboring rock ledges. Our tour guide explained what made the construction safe: “The whole vertical core of the house,” she said, “rests on boulders.”

Hearing her words, I couldn’t help but think of Jesus’s words to His disciples. During the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus told them that what He was teaching would be the sure foundation for their lives. If they heard His words and put them into practice, they would be able to withstand any storms. Those who heard but didn’t obey, in contrast, would be like a house built on sand (Matthew 7:24–27). Later, Paul echoed this thought, writing that Christ is the foundation, and we must build upon it with work that will endure (1 Corinthians 3:11).

When we listen to the words of Jesus and obey them, we’re building our lives on a steady, rock-solid foundation. Maybe our lives can look a little like Fallingwater, beautiful and built to last on the Rock.

Prayer: God, help us to hear and obey the words of Jesus!

What are you building your life around?

INSIGHT:
In Matthew 7:24–27, Jesus says following His teachings is wise and prudent, for they are the foundation on which a full and healthy life is built. He makes this statement after giving the Sermon on the Mount, which contains what has been considered by some the most difficult and stringent guidelines for life. But we aren’t left to live this life on our own; we are dependent on the Spirit. These requirements extend beyond actions and into the thoughts and attitudes. A person who honors God with his or her whole life will remain steady in the storms of life (vv. 24–25).

TREM Devotional 28 November 2018 – God Is Never In Trouble

Topic: God Is Never In Trouble [TREM Devotional 28 November 2018]

“And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land. 1 Kings 17:7 KJV

No matter what happens, God is never in trouble. The brook dried up but don’t forget that God was still the one orchestrating things. He was still in charge. He spoke the brook into existence in the first instance, so how can the brook dry up. The brook dried up because of something. Let’s read the scripture:

“And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.” (1 Kings 17:8, 9 KJV).

God was up to something. There was a widow in Zarephath that needed help. So, Elijah arose and went to Zarephath as commanded and God supernaturally provided for him, the widow woman and her son.

What can we learn from this account? Don’t be afraid. God will take care of you. The Bible says we should not cast away our confidence which has great recompense of reward. You have power to reverse your situation but God will always respect your choice. The brook did not dry up because God was in trouble. God was not in trouble at all. God could have still sustained the brook all throughout the famine. Notice that the reason the brook dried up was the woman who has been faithfully serving God and needed to be sustained by the prophetic anointing that was upon Elijah.

It seems as if her life was wasted. She has been serving God and believing God, standing in faith with her son. You cannot serve God faithfully and be forsaken. It may look like God has forsaken you. But I assure you that God will always open the book of remembrance. God wants to give you sustained blessing. It is not just the one you eat now and it finishes. It must be sustained. It grows from glory unto glory.

Open Heavens for Teens 28 November 2018 – How Forgiving Are You?

Topic: How Forgiving Are You? [Open Heavens for Teens 28 November 2018]

Memorise: But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. Psalm 130:4

Read: Ephesians 4:24-32 (KJV)

Bible In One Year: Ezekiel 40, 1 Peter 5

MESSAGE:

According to Matthew 18:23-34, God forgive us when we ask Him. Until you ask for forgiveness, your sins are retained. This spiritual principle negates the error of some teachings that the blood of Jesus Christ continues to wash away your sins after you are born again, even without confessing them. this is misinterpretation. Any sin you fail to acknowledge and confess before God after becoming a believer will automatically be recorded against you.

Another lesson here is that God forgave us so that we too can forgive others. And He continues to forgive us whenever we err so that we too can continue to forgive those who offend us. If you fail to forgive anyone who offends you, you have automatically negated God’s purpose for forgiving you. One proof of being a child of God is your ability to forgive others like He forgave you. If you want to wait until the offender deserves to be forgiven, you may never forgive anyone. God forgave you not because you deserved it, but because He is merciful.

Key Point: Your readiness to forgive determines God’s readiness to forgive you. How ready are you to forgive your offenders?

Hymn 13:

1. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is the love of God flowing through you?
Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
Are you ready His service to do?

Chorus:
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.

2. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Are you burdened for those that are lost?
Have you urged upon those who are straying
The Savior who does on the cross

3. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is it a daily telling for Him?
Have you spoken the word of salvation?
To those who are dying in sin?

4. We cannot be channels of blessing
If our lives are not free from sin;
We will barriers be and a hindrance
To those we are trying to win.

DCLM Daily Manna 28 November 2018 – Empowered For Impact

Topic: Empowered For Impact [DCLM Daily Manna 28 November 2018 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Isaiah 22:15-25 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open (Isaiah 22:22).

MESSAGE:

David the anointed king of Israel was enthroned by the almighty God to impact the life, economy and military capability of the nation of Israel in his own time. In like manner, God lifted up His servant Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah and appointed him over the house of Judah to bring peace and succour to His afflicted people while captivity and anguish remained the lot of the enemy nations which had troubled God’s people.

It is noteworthy from our text that Eliakim was not a military leader in Israel but an administrator in the government of Hezekiah, king of Judah (2 Kings 18:18; Isaiah 36:3); yet God used him to give Judah and Jerusalem the needed respite. God has also empowered us through the Spirit of the indwelling Christ with whom we have been baptised to function in and for His kingdom.

The open door God granted Eliakim is similar to the open door of global evangelisation today. God has promised to give us the heathen for an inheritance and the ends of the world for our possession. No one should rest on his oars until this divine mandate is accomplished. As we march out gingerly in obedience to our great Commander, the enemy shall submit to the superior power of our God and His Christ.

The task of conquering the world for Christ with the gospel must never be misconstrued as the prerogatives of pastors, church leaders and workers alone. The pew and the pulpit must determinedly converge to bring the full-orbed gospel to the whole world.

Thought For The Day: God empowers and uses earthen vessels to accomplish His purpose.
