Demon-Influenced Woman in Brazil Beheads Her Baby Son After ‘Voices Told Her He Was an Evil Dragon’ – Urban Christian News

A mother in Brazil allegedly beheaded and dismembered her baby, before leaving the remains stuffed in plastics bags on a dining room table because voices told her he was an ‘evil dragon’.

Domingas Carvalho, 40, decapitated her 17 months old son ‘voices ordered’ her to kill the child because if she didn’t he would ‘turn into an evil dragon and eat people’, police claimed.

Baby Jhony’s remains were found in two plastic shopping bags. One of them contained the little boy’s head, the other had the body parts.

The horrific discovery was made last Friday morning around 9am by the suspect’s mother-in-law, Lucia Maria Carvalho, 67, who lives next door in Manaus, north Brazil.

The grandmother initially thought the bags on the table contained discarded fish and threw them out on wasteland beside the property without first looking inside.

When she checked the contents about half an hour later she noticed a small hand protruding from the sacks.

Several videos of police making the grim find were filmed by local residents who did not want to be named.

Footage shows forensic officers, in full view of a crowd gathered to watch, piecing together the dismembered parts, inspecting the body and taking photographic evidence.

The alleged child murderer was reportedly found by police at 6pm the same day following a tip off.

She was said to be sitting at a watermelon market stall in the town centre reading a bible in blood-stained clothes.

Positive Confession by David Ibiyeomie

Positive Confession by David Ibiyeomie

Topic: Positive Confession

Every condition of life is a product of spoken words; negative or positive. The world you live in is determined by the words you speak. The sounds from your mouth determines the things that happen in your life.

Genesis 1:3 – And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

You will never see what you have not declared.

Hebrews 11:3 – Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Ephesians 5:1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

As imitators of God, you should follow His examples to produce impeccable results. Positive confession is simply saying what God’s Word says. Confession precedes possession. What you confess is what you possess.

Proverbs 6:2 – Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.

The wrong use of words can endanger you. Your words can make you work wonders and can also make you wander in life. Your words create images and then you end up living in that image. Speaking in line with God’s Words can change circumstances in your life. Justification and condemnation are functions of your words. You create what you continuously say.

Mark 11:23 – For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Faith speaks your expectations not your experiences. Your words must be in line with your prayers. When God’s Word is conceived in the heart and declared with the mouth, it creates a spiritual force. Don’t change your language even in the face of challenges. Keep speaking positively no matter the circumstances or oppositions because every word spoken is a seed sown.

Proverbs 10:11 – The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

Proverbs 12:6b – but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

Proverbs 12:14aA man shall be satisfied with good by the fruits of his mouth:

Proverbs 12:18b – but the tongue of the wise is health.

Health, protection, prosperity and life are functions of your words. Positive confession is not a gift, it is a choice. Consciously choose and use positive words for effective living.

God bless you!

TREM Devotional 3 November 2018 – Don’t Put Limitations on God

Topic: Don’t Put Limitations on God [TREM Devotional 3 November 2018]

“And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you”. Exodus 3:14 (KJV)

One of the challenges I have with people as I go preaching all over the world is that they fail to put God in His own exclusive class. God is not man. Man has limitations but the God that you and I serve is not limited. I have also come to know that people fail to receive from Him because they put limitations around Him. As a result, they go without their blessings. But God is not a man. The truth is that He can do whatever He wants to do and He can be anything He wants to be.

He said to Moses I am the “I AM that I AM”. And Moses said, God, what do you mean by I AM. And God said I am whatever you need. I am too big to be confined into a box. He said so you don’t talk to me in a box of a name. I introduced myself as I AM because your needs are different. Whatever your need is I AM. God can meet that need. And He so positioned Himself that everyone, whoever you are, will be able to receive. You can receive whatever your need is

When God steps into any situation, things begin to change. There is no way, therefore, that the enemy will be able to withstand you. In Hebrew 12:9, He introduced Himself as the Father of Spirits. In other words, witches, wizards and warlords bow to Him. No demonic spirit can rest when God is there. When God is with you there is nothing the devil can do. It is a shame for a child of God to be running from wizards or demons. They should actually be the ones running away from you because the I AM lives inside you. The Word of God says the Greater one lives in you. The One in you is greater than he that is in the world.

Tanzania’s Homosexual Community Threatened With Mass Arrest – Urban Christian News

Gay and transgender people in Tanzania have gone into hiding, fearing for their lives, after a senior government official called on the public to report suspected homosexuals so that they could be arrested from early next week.

Paul Makonda, regional commissioner for Tanzania’s main city of Dar es Salaam, announced the crackdown on Monday. He said a team would be set up to identify and arrest the “many homosexuals”, who could face up to 30 years in jail.

Mr Makonda’s announcement has sparked panic and fear among thousands of LGBT people in the east African nation. Some said they were too scared to go outside during the day, while others had left their homes fearing imminent arrest.

“Since Monday, I have left my place and have been moving here and there. I am always looking over my shoulder in case they coming for me,” Nathan, 24, told Reuters by phone from Dar es Salaam.

“There’s so much tension within the gay community at the moment. Not just in Dar, but all over the country. We are really scared. We don’t know what to do and where to go.”

Gay sex is illegal in Tanzania, but the law is rarely enforced. Homophobia and attacks and arrests on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people have however risen since President John Magufuli’s election in 2015, activists say.

Even though the clampdown is set to begin on Monday, Nathan claimed that homes were already being raided in the port city and gay people were arrested.

African countries have some of the most prohibitive colonial-era laws against homosexuality in the world. Same-sex relationships are seen as…

Our Daily Bread 3 November 2018 Devotional – See Your City

Topic: See Your City [Our Daily Bread 3 November 2018 Devotional]

Read: Genesis 12:1–3, Bible in a Year: Jeremiah 30–31; Philemon

All peoples on earth will be blessed through you. Genesis 12:3

“See our city the way we do.” A Detroit, Michigan, urban development group used that slogan to launch its vision for the city’s future. But the project came to a sudden stop when members of the community noticed something missing in the campaign. African Americans make up a large majority of the city’s population and workforce. Yet people of color were absent from the crowd of white faces that showed up on signs, banners, and billboards urging all to see the city as they did.

The countrymen of Jesus also had a blind spot in their vision for the future. As children of Abraham, they were primarily concerned about the future of Jewish people. They couldn’t understand Jesus’s concern for Samaritans, Roman soldiers, or anyone else who didn’t share their family roots, rabbis, or temple worship.

I relate to the blind spots of Detroit and Jerusalem. I too tend to see only people whose life experience I understand. Yet God has a way of bringing about His unity amid our diversity. We’re more alike than we realize.

Our God chose a desert nomad by the name of Abram to bring blessing to all the people of the world (Genesis 12:1–3). Jesus knows and loves everyone we don’t yet know or love. Together we live by the grace and mercy of One who can help us see one another, our cities, and His kingdom—as He does.

Prayer: Father in heaven, please open our eyes to people and hearts who are more like us than we are inclined to believe. Help us see our own need of You.

Everyone everywhere is more like us than less like us.

INSIGHT
Abram, Nahor, and Haran (the father of Lot) were the sons of Terah. The brothers grew up in Ur of the Chaldeans (Genesis 11:27–28), which archaeologists have revealed to be a flourishing city in its day. Haran died, and sometime later Abram married Sarai. Then Terah, Abram, Sarai, and Lot left Ur bound for Canaan. On the way, the group settled in Harran where Terah later died (vv. 31–32). Although God’s call to Abram to “go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you” isn’t recorded until Genesis 12:1, Abram received this call earlier while still in Ur (see Acts 7:2–4). That’s why the family initially starts out for Canaan (Genesis 11:31). It’s believed the group stalled in Harran because Terah, who was named after the moon deity worshiped in Ur, may have had trouble leaving behind his idolatrous past (see Joshua 24:2). What’s most important is that Abram heard God’s call, left the familiar behind, and obeyed. “Abram went” (Genesis 12:4), and through him “all peoples on earth [would] be blessed” (v. 3).

Seeds of Destiny 3 November 2018 Devotional – The Glorious Benefits of Waiting on God

Topic: The Glorious Benefits of Waiting on God [Seeds of Destiny 3 November 2018 Devotional]

Scripture: In that day shall the Lord of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people, And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate. Isaiah 28:5

Thought For The Day: What you expect determines what you experience.

It is a certainty that every time we sincerely seek God in prayer and fasting, we must see or have results. However, every spiritual endeavour answers to both revelation and expectation. That is why, it is very important to be expectant anytime we come before God’s Presence in prayers. This is because, what you expect determines what you experience.

Now, what are the things you should expect whenever you engage in prayer and fasting? Let me give you four of them:
1. A Crown of Glory
It is not possible to approach God and not encounter glory for the termination of shame. Moses waited on God for forty days and there was glory saturation on his face (Exodus 34:29).

2. The Diadem of Beauty
God beautifies people who spend time with Him (Psalms 50:2, Psalms 90:16-17).

3. The Spirit of Judgment (Isaiah 40:31)
When we come before God, we connect with the mantle of judgment to deal with evil altars and the powers of hell (1 Kings 17:1).

4. Strength for Battles
Many people have been victims of spiritual warfare, ancestral battles, etc., because their strength is small (Proverbs 24:10). But when we come before God’s Presence in prayer, we receive strength to win the battles of life (Isaiah 40:31).

Beloved, my counsel is, make up your mind to develop a personal relationship with God at the place of prayer and the Word, and you will see great results in your life.

Remember this: What you expect determines what you experience.

Assignments:
1. Make demands on the grace for a ceaseless prayer life.
2. Refuse to doubt whenever you pray.
3. Engage in a consecrational fast at least once in a week.

Prayer: Lord, I receive the grace to wait on You. Overwhelm me with Your Glory and Beauty. Cause every battle in my life and family to end by Your Power, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna 3 November 2018 – Bark with Bite

Topic: Bark with Bite [DCLM Daily Manna 3 November 2018 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: 2 Samuel 13:21-29 (KJV)

Key Verse: “But when king David heard of all these things, he was very wroth (2 Samuel 13:21).

MESSAGE:

King David was a courageous soldier but a weak family man. He had committed dual iniquities of adultery and murder. God pronounced severe punishments against him, having given the adversaries of the Lord an occasion to blaspheme His name. God’s chastisement of David reveals His impartiality as no respecter of persons. He would not allow the wicked to go unpunished, because He could not tolerate sin.

In the text, we see the result of God’s punishment on David. Amnon, his son, committed incest with his half-sister, Tamar. When David heard, he was angry, but did nothing to discipline the young man. Some Bible commentators believe that David could not act decisively because Amnon was his eldest son and the next heir to his crown. It is arguable that David’s guilt with Bathsheba, rendered him more awkward in punishing Amnon. This led to Amnon’s murder by Absalom.

There are many Christian homes today whose living conditions make siblings prone to committing incest. No matter our level of earning power, there must be decency in the set-up of our homes. Children must not be exposed to nakedness of parents or the opposite gender. Adequate demarcation should be made for our children to respect the privacy of the opposite gender.

God abhors sin in all its forms and His judgment looms over unrepentant sinners. Christian leaders should never withhold the rod of discipline from their erring members. Similarly, parents should rebuke and discipline their wayward children to prevent evil from spreading.

Thought For The Day: Never shut your eyes to evil for it will grow.

Muslim Radicals Block Roads in Pakistan, Call for Death of Justices Who Set Asia Bibi Free

Muslim Radicals Block Roads in Pakistan, Call for Death of Justices Who Set Asia Bibi Free

Pakistani Muslim radicals have blocked off streets in Pakistan and are calling for the murder of the Supreme Court justices who approved the release of Christian mother, Asia Bibi, from death row earlier this week.

Bibi was arrested in 2010 and was put on death row after being accused of blaspheming the Islamic prophet Muhammed in an argument with several Muslim women. Bibi has denied the claims, but still she was sentenced to hanging.

According to The Christian Post, insulting Islam or the prophet Muhammad in Pakistan is considered blasphemy and is a crime punishable by life in prison or death. The Christian Post notes that the law is frequently abused to target religious minorities.

When the court decided to release Bibi on Wednesday, protestors took to the streets with outrage. According to Reuters, a panel of three-judge moved to reverse the court’s earlier ruling against Bibi noting that their simply was not enough evidence to convict her of the crime. After this announcement was made public, Reuters reports that Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan supporters staged street protests and blocked off several major roads.

Reportedly, by mid-afternoon the protests had grown so large that they immobilized parts of major cities including Islamabad and Lahore.

At a rally in Lahore, near Bibi’s hometown, Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan co-founder Muhammad…

Open Heaven 3 November 2018 – Are you a worthy Associate?

Open Heaven 3 November 2018 Saturday Daily Devotional by Pastor E A Adeboye – Are you a worthy Associate?

Topic: Are you a worthy Associate? (Open Heaven 3 November 2018)

Memorise: “And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,”- Mark 3:14

Read: John 15:10-16 (KJV)

10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Bible in One Year: Jeremiah 37-39, Luke 15:11-32

Open Heaven 3 November 2018 Saturday MESSAGE:

A great number of people fail to realize that a tree does make a forest, and so they despise the blessings that come with having associates in their lives. God did not design man to attain his full potential as a lone ranger. Genesis 2:18 says:

“And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”

We should however note that the associates we let into our lives must be worthy ones, and unfortunately, the problem of many leaders today is that they are short of worthy associates. For this reason, their organizations don’t grow to their full potential. Abraham, the father of faith, had worthy associates who were ready to go to war with him when the need arose (Genesis 14:24). Genesis 14:13 says:

“And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.”

I pray that the Lord will give you worthy associates in Jesus’ Name.

Even our Lord needed worthy associates when He was here on earth. The purpose of these associates was first and foremost, to be with Him, and secondly, to send them on assignments that would lead to the fulfillment of His mission here on earth. Mark 3:14 says:

“And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,”

Today, I prophesy into your life that worthy associates, whether in business, marriage or ministry will come your way in Jesus’ Name. Just as the Lord chose the twelve disciples, He has also chosen us to be His worthy associates and we must be worthy ones indeed. He said to us in John 15:16a:

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:”

We must therefore bear the fruit of the Spirit, so that our Father in heaven may be glorified (Galatians 5:22-25). We must also bear the fruit of souls into God’s Kingdom. When we do this, we will have our bountiful rewards, which include express answers to our prayers, and this alone is worth more than silver or gold. May God make you a worthy associate of His Son in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 3 November 2018 Saturday Prayer Point:

Father, please make me a worthy associate of Jesus Christ through the fruits I bear from today onward in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 3 November 2018 Saturday Hymn 16: Stand Up! Stand Up For Jesus

1. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
Ye soldiers of the Cross;
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
From vict’ry unto vict’ry
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished
And Christ is Lord indeed.

2. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
The trumpet call obey;
Forth to the mighty conflict
In this His glorious day!
Ye that are men, now serve Him
Against unnumbered foes;
Let courage rise with danger,
And strength to strength oppose.

3. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
Stand in His strength alone:
The arm of flesh will fail you;
Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the Gospel armour,
And watching unto prayer,
Where duty calls, or danger,
Be never wanting there.

4. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
The strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor’s song
To him that overcometh
A crown of life shall be;
He, with the King of Glory
Shall reign eternally.

School District Bans FCA from Meeting When Other Clubs Do, Legal Group Says

School District Bans FCA from Meeting When Other Clubs Do, Legal Group Says

A Kentucky school district is violating the U.S. Constitution by preventing members of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes from meeting during school hours and by banning its announcements over the PA system and from bulletin boards, a legal group alleges.

First Liberty Institute sent a letter to the Hardin County School District in late October, alleging that the FCA is prohibited from meeting during school hours even though other groups, such as the photography club, are allowed to do so. The letter further says that the FCA isn’t allowed to post its announcements on bulletin boards or use the public announcement system — privileges given to other clubs.

The school policy was adopted in reaction to demands from the group Atheists of America, the letter says.

“The singling out of students involved with FCA is exactly the kind of hostility toward religion that the law prevents,” said Roger Byron, senior counsel for First Liberty Institute. “Hardin County school officials are acting like they are above federal law. They must treat students who are members of FCA equally.”

The letter says the school district’s policy violates the Equal Access Act and other state and federal laws “by discriminating against students ‘on the basis of the religious . . . content of the speech at such meetings.’”

The policy infringes on…
