Christian climate change activist arrested outside parliament

Nick Cooper, a shoemaker and Catholic, locked himself to a gate outside the Palace of Westminster as part of the ‘Extinction Rebellion’, which gathered around 400 people in Parliament Square to demand that the government take more urgent action to tackle climate change.

Before his arrest, Nick said: “I came today to lend my body to the Extinction Rebellion and defend God’s creation which we are crucifying with climate change. We are called to follow God’s law even when it means breaking the laws of our time and place.”

Nick is one of around five people who have been arrested.

Those attending the event blocked the road outside Westminster for around three hours.

11 members of Christian Climate Action where present, one of whom is Phil Kingston, a man in his 80s, who was led away by the police without being arrested after lying in the road for several hours.

Phil said: “The current path of climate breakdown presents enormous dangers. None of the main political parties are responding with the level of ambition which is essential if we are to respond with the necessary commitment and sacrifice.’

The Extinction Rebellion crowd wanted the UK to declare a state of emergency around climate change, to create a zero carbon economy by 2025 and form a national assembly to decide what a zero carbon future would look like.

Terrorist Connected to 9/11 Attacks Released from Prison Early, Welcomed Home as ‘Hero’

Terrorist Connected to 9/11 Attacks Released from Prison Early, Welcomed Home as ‘Hero’

A known terrorist who is connected to the 9/11 attacks in the United States on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and the White house, was released early from prison this week in Germany.

The Daily Mail reports that Mounir el Motassadeq, 44, was convicted of accessory to murder in connection with the September 11attacks in 2006. Investigators determined that the Moroccan man handled the money for the Al Qaeda cell that was responsible for the plane hijackings and attacks, deeming him the cell’s treasurer. He was sentenced to 15 years for the aiding and abetting of the murder of the 246 passengers killed in the planes that crashed into the Twin Towers on that fateful day.

According to Fox News, el Motassadeq was released several months early because of time he served in 2001 when he was originally arrested for the acts of terror. The man was set to be released in January 2019. After being released early this week, el Motassadeq was deported to his home country of Morocco where he was welcomed home to what many are calling a “hero’s welcome.”

On Wednesday, el Motassdeq returned to his suburban town in Marrakesh, where he was greeted by his wife and kids. The terrorist who helped set the attack that killed 2,996 people into action was reportedly greeted by ‘elated’ community members and well-wishers who were celebrating his return.

Israel Houghton, Yolanda Adams, Hezekiah Walker Working With Group That Thinks Jesus Failed

(Photo: REUTERS/Lee Jae-Won)South Korean evangelist Reverend Moon Sun-myung and his wife Han Hak-ja (R) bless newlyweds during a mass wedding ceremony at Sun Moon University in Asan, south of Seoul October 14, 2009.

The Unification Church, properly known as Family Federation for World Peace and Unification USA, is hosting an major event this month titled, “Peace Starts with Me” and has invited high profile Christian artists, such as Israel Houghton, Yolanda Adams and others to help spread the mission of self-described “mother, the only begotten daughter of God,” Hak Ja Han Moon.

A new video promotion for the Nov. 12 event held in New York City’s Nassau Coliseum, announced that Grammy award winner Houghton will join Bishop Noel Jones, along with gospel singers Yolanda Adams, and Hezekiah Walker for the Unificationism gathering.

“Come and join all of New York and Americans everywhere to honor of the men and women of every creed and color who sacrificed and gave so much for the sake of this nation and to the cause of freedom around the world,” a press release about the event described.

It’s unclear why these popular Christians would link arms with this un-Christian faith. Houghton, Adams, Walker or Jones have not responded to media inquiries regarding their involvement at…

LGBT chaplaincy team planned by diocese in response to past ‘hurt and exclusion’

The Diocese of Oxford said the proposed group – based on similar ministries operating in Wales and elsewhere – would also support the relatives and beloved of LGBTI+ people. It comes after “many” requests for guidance on the issue.

In a letter, four local bishops said chaplains would be available to guide clergy and lay readers, in light of past “hurt, exclusion and misunderstanding” that members of the LGBTI+ community have experienced within the Church.

They wrote: “The role of the chaplains will be to listen, to offer support and to advise local clergy and congregations and ourselves in our welcome and support of LGBTI+ people and their families, and to learn from the insights of LGBTI+ people about being church together.”

The Bishop of Oxford Rt Rev Stephen Croft (pictured above), along with three suffragan – or junior – bishops also set out five principles to promote a climate of “inclusion and respect” across the diocese.

They include welcoming “all people” into church, banishing “intrusive questioning” about someone’s sexuality or experience of gender and ensuring people are not told their sexuality or gender difference reflects a lack of faith.

Under the tenets, nobody should be excluded from taking part in Holy Communion because of their sexual orientation or gender identity and LGBTI+ people should not be excluded from positions of church leadership.

The Three Buckets of Internal Funds for Church Revitalization – Revitalize & Replant #065

SUBSCRIBE TODAY: iTunes • RSS • Stitcher • TuneIn Radio • Google Play

We continue a discussion that was started on Episode 63 about giving in churches and how it can impact churches in need of revitalization.

Episode Highlights:

  • We often take giving for granted in churches.
  • Churches often have tight financials because of their spending habits, not because of low income.
  • Seeking out capital giving is typically not discussed in churches but should be.
  • The reason members don’t give capital funds or legacy gifts to the church is often because the church or pastor doesn’t ask for them.

The three income buckets that we discuss are:

  1. First bucket: income giving
  2. Second bucket: capital giving
  3. Third bucket: legacy giving

We also give a quick overview of an upcoming episode of Rainer on Leadership (Episode #482) on Should the Pastor Have Visibility to Members’ Giving? Look for that episode on November 6.

Resources mentioned in this episode include:

Revitalize & Replant is sponsored by the North American Mission Board and ChurchReplanters.com. More than 10% of churches in North America are at risk of closing and the North American Mission Board is committed to reversing this trend by decreasing the death rate of existing churches while simultaneously increasing the birth rate of new churches. How I felt when I voted yesterday

I voted in the midterm elections yesterday.

I’m not going to tell you what candidates I supported–this ministry is intentionally as nonpartisan as possible, hoping to reach people of any and all political persuasions.

Rather, I’m writing to tell you how it felt to vote.

This is the twenty-first time I’ve voted in a presidential or midterm election, but this one felt different. In the midst of the most virulent political animosity I can remember, I walked out of the voting precinct with an overwhelming sense of gratitude to be an American.

I felt gratitude for our founders–they risked everything to fight the most powerful nation on earth in defense of an idea and a new nation. I felt enormous gratitude for the soldiers who have served and died for my freedom.

I felt gratitude for those who defend and protect us today. I felt gratitude for the women and men who love their country enough to run for office. I felt gratitude for all those who serve to make our political system work. And I felt gratitude to be an American.

Courage changes culture

On this All Saints’ Day, when Christians around the world remember the faith heroes who have gone before us, I’d like to explore with you this fact: courage changes culture.

Abraham left his home to follow God to a promised land. Moses confronted Pharaoh, the most powerful man on earth. Joshua and his people stepped into a flooded Jordan River. David faced Goliath. Galilean fishermen left their vocations to follow Jesus. Peter preached to the Sanhedrin. Paul testified before kings.

It takes courage to change the status quo. Friedrich Nietzsche was right: the “will to power” is the dominant drive in our fallen human nature. People who have achieved power will typically do anything to keep it. And those who seek power will do anything to achieve it.

Warren Bennis, the brilliant management scholar, observed that an “unconscious conspiracy” exists in every organization. Its purpose is to…

Don’t think you are safe, IS-linked group threatens pope

Members of the English-speaking group al-Abd al-Faqir group released several images threatening violence against the Catholic leader.

One depicted a gunman – wearing a pro-IS wristband – pointing their weapon at the 81 year old pontiff.

A caption under the picture read: “Don’t think you are away from our attacks”.

The image has been verified by the SITE Intelligence Group, an organisation which monitors the online activity of extremists around the world.

Its publication comes days after the emergence of other al-Abd al-Faqir images threatening grenade attacks against Pope Francis.

AP Photo/Andrew Medichini

Al-Abd al-Faqir is among a number of extremist media groups publishing threats in support of IS. A series of threats have specifically targeted the pope and the Roman Catholic Church.

In October 2014, publishers of the extremist Dabiq magazine published propaganda which showed the IS flag flying above St Peter’s Square in Vatican City.

Last year, IS-linked extremists in The Philippines filmed themselves desecrating a church in the southern city of Marawi and threatening to come to Rome.

Wisdom for Creativity by David Ibiyeomie

Wisdom for Creativity by David Ibiyeomie

Topic: Wisdom for Creativity

Wisdom is knowing what to do and doing it at the right time. Divine wisdom comes from God and it is superior to “common sense”.

Proverbs 8:12 (KJV) I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

Creativity is having the ability of engaging your mind in productive thinking to create or establish new and original things that were not in existence. It is becoming a solution using your mental revolution.

Psalms 144:1 (KJV) Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:

Wisdom for creativity is divine wisdom working in your mind to be able to break old records and see new ones. It is the divine enablement to do a common thing in an unconventional way. Every child of God is endowed with creativity but for it to become effective, creativity has to be stirred up. This can be done through:

1. Linking up with the Holy Spirit. He is the personality for creativity with us today.

Psalms 104:30 (KJV) Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

Also Read: Personal Revelation By David Ibiyeomie

Philippians 2:13 (KJV) For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

2. Thinking inventive thoughts: Everybody thinks but your thoughts have to be productive for positive results. You are a product of your thoughts so your mind should be used as an effective tool for creativity.

Philemon 1:14 (KJV) But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

3. Be innovative: Never meet an assignment and not improve on it. You cannot be creative except you are innovative and you cannot be Innovative and not be productive.

Proverbs 4:18 (KJV) But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

4. Engage in periodic quiet meditation: Creative people do not stay in rowdy environment. God cannot talk to you when you talk too much. Maintain outward and inward quietness as it enables you think effectively.

Psalms 16:7 (KJV) I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

5. Associate with great thinkers and innovators: Environment affects achievements. No relationship leaves you neutral. It either influences you negatively or positively. If as an eagle, you settle with chickens, you will be reduced to their level. Sit with high fliers to gain height in life.

Proverbs 27:17 (KJV) Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

6. Engage in prayer of enquiry: Divine instruction is superior to divine intervention.

Hebrews 7:7 (KJV) And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

7. Go for relevant information:

Daniel 9:2a (KJV) In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years,

Joshua 1:8 (KJV) This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

As you take conscious steps towards unleashing creativity, the results of a creative mind will be evident in you and distinguish you in Jesus Name- Amen!

God bless you

Joyce Meyer Devotional 1 November 2018 — Exceedingly, Abundantly, Above & Beyond

Topic: Exceedingly, Abundantly, Above & Beyond [Joyce Meyer Devotional 1 November 2018]

Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. — Romans 12:11

When I pray about or simply meditate on all the people who are hurting, I have a strong desire to help them all. I sometimes feel that my desire is bigger than my ability, and it is—but it is not bigger than God’s ability!

When the thing we are facing in our lives or ministries looms so big in our eyes that our mind goes “tilt,” we need to think in the spirit. In the natural, many things are impossible. But in the supernatural, spiritual realm, with God nothing is impossible.

God wants us to believe for great things, make big plans, and expect Him to do things so great it leaves us with our mouths hanging open in awe. James 4:2 tells us we have not because we ask not! We can be bold in our asking.

Sometimes in my meetings people will approach the altar for prayer and sheepishly ask if they can request two things. I tell them they can ask God for all they want to, as long as they trust Him to do it His way, in His timing. It is untold what people can do—people who don’t appear to be able to do anything.

God does not usually call people who are capable. If He did, He would not get the glory. He frequently chooses those who, in the natural, feel as if they are in completely over their heads but who are ready to stand up on the inside and take bold steps of faith as they get direction from God.

We usually want to wait until we “feel ready” before we step out, but if we feel ready then we tend to lean on ourselves instead of on God.

Know your weaknesses and know God—know His strength and faithfulness. Above all else, don’t be a quitter.

Prayer Starter: Oh, Lord, help me to make you bigger in my eyes and believe You can do the impossible in my life. Help me to live with “God confidence,” and trust You to do things that are above and beyond what I even think I deserve. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

MFM Daily Devotional 1 November 2018 – Destroying the Garment of Failure

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 1 November 2018 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Destroying the Garment of Failure

TOPIC: Destroying the Garment of Failure (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 1 November 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 2 Kings 4:29-34

MEMORY VERSE: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” – 3 John 1:2

The MESSAGE:

Many believers suffer failure at the edge of breakthrough because they do not do what God expects of them. It is the will of God for every Christian to be prosperous. However, believers experience failure because of their ignorance. To destroy this garment of failure, you must ask God what He wants you to do and make sure you do them. I pray for you, that the garment of failure in your life shall be destroyed, in Jesus’ name.

We can see from 1 Samuel 1:8-9 that Hannah was failing at the altar of prayer. She later decided to destroy the garment of failure on her and made use of the weapon of covenant making to succeed. In the book of Daniel, Daniel prayed mildly and obtained no result. It was as if he was a failure in the temple of prayer, but he later decided to put off the garment of failure and made use of the weapon of persistence to obtain victory. Mordecai, Esther and the Jews living in a strange land were about to fail but Esther changed her mind and her fellow Jews joined her to make use of the weapons of fasting to gain victory over the enemies.

Elijah was almost failing but thank God for the weapon of fire he called down to disgrace the prophets of Baal. They were not only disgraced but also destroyed. In the case of Gehazi, he could not use any of the available weapons; therefore, he failed woefully at the altar of prayer. The staff of Elisha in the hand of Gehazi did not work at the altar of prayer, but the same staff worked for Elisha. It seemed Gehazi was putting on the garment of failure that manifested as covetousness and greed. He refused to remove the negative garment and ended up failing completely and consequently received the gift of leprosy.

Effective prayer is specific and brings result. It flows and works with the Holy Spirit and brings testimony. Have you been praying without result? Do not give up; all you need is the right weapon to remove the garment of failure at the altar of prayer. Choose an effective weapon today after the order of Hannah, Daniel and our Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be victorious. At the altar of prayer, seriousness, faith, hope, patience and aggression are the needed ingredients for result to manifest. Pray using the available weapons to destroy the garment of failure in your life and you shall never remain the same.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
THE PERSON WHO NEVER ASKED AND THE PERSON WHO PRAYED THE WRONG PRAYER ARE BIRDS OF THE SAME FEATHER.

PROPHETIC WORD:
You shall not fail at the altar of prayer after the order of Elijah!

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. I destroy every garment of failure and ignorance in my life by fire, in Jesus’ name.
2. Agents of failure targeted at my prayer altar, what are you doing there? Die, in Jesus’ name.
3. As I go out today, environmental powers saying no to my prayers, I silence you by fire, in Jesus’ name.

EVENING
4. Anything in my foundation that does not want me to pray to my God, die, in Jesus’ name.
5. Garment of failure on me at the altar of prayer, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.
6. Anointing for prayer success, manifest in my prayer altar, in Jesus’ name.
7. All my prayers, gather together and be converted to miracles, in the name of Jesus.
