MESSAGE:

Are you outstanding in prayer? When negative situations challenge any member of your family or even your friends, do you go into the place of prayer on their behalf? Do you ever even feel the need to pray for them?

Jesus Christ was outstanding in prayers. He took prayer to the limits. Most of the times He prayed, He did so alone. He separated Himself from the crowd just to pray. How often do you take out time to seriously pray? How often do you pray for other people? Do you know that praying for other people releases a new level of blessings to you? When Job prayed for his friends in Job 42:10, he was able to access a brand new level of blessings. Some blessings are attached to the prayers you pray for your friends.

Action Point: Intercede for you family members and friends throughout today.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Genesis 1:26-28

MEMORY VERSE: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16

The MESSAGE:

God put father Adam and mother Eve in the beautiful Garden of Eden to dress and keep it. They were given the freedom to name all creatures, multiply as they wanted, commune with God, and to do everything except eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. A time came when they lost the freedom to a slave master (Devil) because of disobedience. Adam and Eve are the progenitors of the entire human race and we are the progenies. Since they lost their freedom to the devil, Adam and Eve as well as the entire human race came under the bondage of slavery under the slave master, the devil. Beloved, that was a disaster in the history of man. However, God wanted man back to Himself. So, right there in the Garden of Eden, He promised a Saviour who will deliver man from the grip of the devil. At the fullness of time, God finally sent His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who laid down His life. He was hung on the cross, laid in the grave, but finally, He conquered the power of the grave and destroyed the slave master, the devil. There and then, man’s total freedom was restored through the redemptive power of God.

Jesus declared total freedom for man, so you are no more under any slave master. Beloved, your assignment today is to examine yourself. Are you under the slave master or any of his cohorts? To be free from the slave master, you must surrender your life to Christ who has come to deliver you from the grip of the slave master.

A young man from the eastern part of the country once told me of how his master whom he had served for so many years refused to let him go. He came to church and within six months of prayers and deliverance, the obviously occult man who was his master became so sick and in his sickness, he invited the young man and settled him. The young man gained his freedom and possessed his possession. You too can gain your freedom; believe on the Lord Jesus, accept His redemptive work for you at Calvary and pray the prayers below violently.

MORNING

Topic: Magnify Your God [TREM 2 October 2018 Daily Devotional]

Do you know you can make God bigger? Now I’m not referring to making Him bigger in size, but in your perception of Him. You have the power to make Him either big or small. Most of us have become so good at enlarging the problem, and minimizing God, and His Word. We place more value on our problem than we do on God. The centurion said to Jesus, I’m not worthy for you to come to my house, all you need to do is speak the Word, and I know that your Word would be honored.

It all depends on what you place a premium on. Do you place a higher value on who God is than your challenges. When you understand that your challenges are small compared with the Almightiness of our God, then it changes everything. This is why our ministry’s mission statement clearly states: “Here we do not look at the ‘bigness’ of your problems, but at the ‘Bigness’ of our God”. Our God is the Almighty! When the doctor comes with negative reports, don’t place a premium on that report, but rather on the Word that tells you that by His stripes, you were healed.

You can magnify the Lord and make Him and His Word bigger than any problem. Do it by glorifying, praising and thanking Him. There are several people who overcame their dire situations in the scriptures, search out those people and meditate on the word. Make it more real to you than the problem. You must get to a place where God’s word is true and where He is greater than any situation.

The songwriter sang, “Our God is greater, Our God is stronger, God you are higher than any other, Our God is greater, awesome in power Our God”. These are the truth about God that we must live by daily. We serve a Mighty God.

Topic: Courageous David [DCLM Daily Manna 2 October 2018 Daily Devotional]

Text: 1 Samuel 17:25-37 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine” (1 Samuel 17:32).

MESSAGE:

William Wilberforce was born at a time when slavery was acceptable in the society. But after he had an encounter with Christ, his perception of slave trade changed. Amidst strong and bitter opposition from his critics, Wilberforce fought for the abolition of slave trade in British territory. In the midst of bitter conflict, he said, “So enormous, so dreadful, so irremediable did the slave trade’s wickedness appear that my own mind was completely made up for abolition. Let the consequences be what they would: I from this time determined that I would never rest until I had effected its abolition.” What a man!

Today’s passage centres on David. He was on an errand from his father to see the welfare of his elder brothers who followed King Saul to battle the Philistines. When David got to the battlefront and heard the bragging of Goliath, he wondered aloud why no one was challenging the giant. Being confident of God’s power to protect him, he courageously offered to defend His name. Initially, no one supported David, but upon his persistence, King Saul reluctantly agreed to let him fight Goliath alone. David went ahead to the battle and with his faith fully grounded in the unfailing power of God, he triumphed.

David could have developed cold feet like Saul and the other soldiers. But he did not. You too must learn to stand for what is right even when you lack supporters.

There is no shortcut to victory. Victory lies in overcoming obstacles everyday. Obstacles may come in the form of oppositions, challenges or criticisms. But victory lies in depending absolutely on God’s promises and doing what is right.

Topic: The Future of Filth [Seeds of Destiny 2 October 2018 Daily Devotional]

Scripture: Her filthiness clung to her skirts; she did not consider her future. Her fall was astounding… Lamentations 1:9. (NIV)

Thought For The Day: There is no destiny for the dirty, there is no future for the filthy and there can be no prospect for the polluted.

Sometime ago, after I finished preaching, I made an altar call. As I was about leading the people in the prayer of repentance, a lady suddenly fell and we thought she fell under the Power of God, not knowing she had fainted and slumped. After the prayer, I touched her and discovered that she was lifeless. I did everything I could medically to resuscitate her but all to no avail. There was no sign of life in her. So, I cried to God with passion, “Oh Lord, this lady must not die; please bring her back to life.”

While I was still praying, she jerked back to life. When asked what happened, she said that when she slumped, she saw herself at the other side of eternity; she saw people jubilating on one side and other people screaming in torment on the other side. Then an Angel asked her, “Where do you want to go?” She said, “The side where people are rejoicing.” The angel said, “You are dirty and too filthy to go there, people like you cannot step in there”.

It was at that juncture where she was about to be sent to hell that God intervened in answer to my prayer for her and gave her a second chance.

Beloved, she would have gone to hell because of filthiness had God not intervened. The truth is, there is no destiny for the dirty, there is no future for the filthy and there can be no eternal prospect for the polluted. The destination of sinners is eternal damnation in hell fire. But that shall not be your portion, in Jesus’ Name! Therefore, make up your mind to repent from every sin and remain pure in the sight of God.

Remember This: There is no destiny for the dirty, there is no future for the filthy and there can be no prospect for the polluted.

Assignments:
1. Go through the message for today again.
2. Repent of every sin and determine to maintain a conscience void of offence towards both God and men.

Prayer: Lord, I ask that You cleanse me from every filthiness by the Blood of Jesus. Baptize me with the grace to maintain a conscience void of offence towards You and towards men O Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
