TREM Devotional 6 June 2018 by Dr. Mike Okonkwo – You Are Blessed

Topic: You Are Blessed [TREM Devotional Wednesday June 6, 2018]

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28

Child of God, you are blessed and not cursed. You have heaven’s mandate upon your life therefore, you must be fruitful. Stop accepting the lies of the enemy, stop allowing situations put you under, no; the Bible declares that you are the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. You must walk about with this understanding. Yes, I know that situation might be difficult, I understand there are challenges, but that does not change the truth of God’s Word.

Ephesians 1:3 says “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:” Beloved, you are already blessed. Usually, when we refer to the blessing, we talk about it in future terms and we say things like ‘God will bless you’, but the Bible says you are already blessed. Stop letting your bank account determine whether you are blessed or not; if God has said it, then that settles you, and you better believe it.

You must understand that the blessing of God is not a thing; it’s the favour of God spoken over your life. Our text tells us that the first thing God did was to bless man, and then He said be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth, subdue and have dominion; therefore whatever situation or circumstance there is that is challenging the fulfillment of God’s Word in your life, I command it to give way in Jesus’ name. I declare to you that you are blessed going out, you are blessed coming in, blessed in your baskets, and in your storehouse, you are blessed in all areas of your life.

DCLM Daily Manna 6 June, 2018 by Pastor Kumuyi – He Who Delivers And Rescues

Topic: He Who Delivers And Rescues [DCLM Daily Manna Wednesday June 6, 2018]

Text: Daniel 6:1-28 (KJV)

Key Verse: “My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt” (Daniel 6:22).

MESSAGE:

Daniel, a righteous man, was convicted of a crime, which was not a sin. Daniel purposefully committed this crime because he did not wish to commit a sin against his God. He was appointed president in the kingdom of Babylon. “Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm” (Daniel 6:3).

This made the other presidents and princes jealous. Thus, they conspired to eliminate him. It is interesting that when they sought to find occasion or fault against Daniel concerning the kingdom, they could not find any, because he was faithful. No error or fault was found in him.

Genuine repentance from sin and the behavioural changes it brings have a way of turning our benefactors into persecutors. The true test of a believer’s life is how he or she reacts to the maltreatment of persecutors in the workplace, relates with the spouse, children and people he or she comes in contact with.

How dependable and faithful are you, as an employee, in the place where you work or an entrepreneur, in the way you do your business? Are you in conflict with unbelievers? Do your persecutors roar at you like lions? Fear not, because the Lord is with you and will deliver you. No weapon formed against you will prosper. Note, however, that those who are not genuinely saved will not get His divine rescue when the enemy attack. To be saved from the lions of this world, you must turn to God in genuine repentance from sin and put all your trust in Him.

Thought For The Day: God is our present Help in trouble.

Crowdfunder Suspends Parents’ Campaign Calling Transgender Identity ‘Biologically Impossible’ – Urban Christian News

A popular United Kingdom online crowdfunding website has suspended a campaign started by parents warning teachers and administrators about the “one-sided view” of groups trying to promote transgender policies in schools.

The website Crowdfunder discontinued the campaign of Transgender Trend, a group of parents “questioning the trans narrative” and the gender identity ideology being taught in their children’s schools.

According to The Independent, the group had been seeking donations to help it produce and distribute a resource pack to schools across the country that would inform teachers about the dangers of embracing a full-on transgender ideology in schools.

Among many things, the packet tells teachers that being transgender is a “biologically impossible situation.” Additionally, the resource pack would have advised faculty that transgender discrimination policies “may not be necessary.”

“We have been told by @crowdfunderuk that our our project has been suspended pending further investigation, due to an ‘unprecedented number of complaints,’” the group tweeted on Friday. “All complaints we have seen on Twitter are libelous.”

An attempt to access the crowdfunding page on Monday afternoon produced a response of “Page not found.”

In a statement to The Christian Post, Crowdfunder said:

“Crowdfunder receives up to 200 new project ideas a day from people all over the U.K. who want to see change in their communities. We welcome the debate and spotlight this puts on issues facing our society, but also fully understand our responsibility to ensure…

Only a Few of Guatemala Volcano’s Dead Have Been Identified – Urban Christian News

People of the villages skirting Guatemala’s Volcano of Fire have begun mourning the few dead who could be identified after an eruption killed dozens by engulfing them in floods of searing ash and mud.

Mourners cried over caskets lined up in a row in the main park of San Juan Alotenango on Monday evening before rescuers stopped their work for another night.

There was no electricity in the hardest hit areas of Los Lotes and El Rodeo, so most searching continued only until sunset. As dawn broke Tuesday, the volcano continued to rattle, with what the country’s volcanology institute said were eight to 10 moderate eruptions per hour — vastly less intense than Sunday’s big blasts.

Guatemalan authorities put the death toll at 69, but officials said just 17 had been identified so far because the intense heat of the volcanic debris flows left most bodies unrecognizable.

“It is very difficult for us to identify them because some of the dead lost their features or their fingerprints” from the red-hot flows, said Fanuel Garcia, director of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences. “We are going to have to resort to other methods … and if possible take DNA samples to identify them.”

Authorities say at least 46 people were injured. Twelve shelters were housing 1,877 people.

Sunday’s eruption caught residents of remote mountain hamlets off guard, with little or no time to flee to safety.

Using shovels and backhoes, emergency workers dug through the debris and mud, perilous labor on smoldering terrain still hot enough to melt shoe soles a day after the volcano exploded in a…

EU Nations Split Over Asylum; 112 Migrants Die in Shipwreck – Urban Christian News

European Union countries remained deeply divided Tuesday over how to reform EU rules for managing the influx of refugees and migrants, as U.N. agencies reported that an estimated 112 people died over the weekend when a smuggler’s boat sank as it tried to reach Europe.

The estimated toll made the shipwreck off Tunisia the deadliest this year in the dangerous route from North Africa across the Mediterranean Sea to Europe.

EU migration ministers, meeting in Luxembourg, were pessimistic that new proposals to update the bloc’s asylum system would be accepted by many of the bloc’s 28 nations.

Well over 1 million people, mostly Syrians fleeing war at home, entered Europe in 2015, overwhelming Greece and Italy and surprising Germany, which took in hundreds of thousands of refugees. Their arrival strained relations among EU neighbors and fueled anti-migrant sentiment, especially in central and eastern Europe.

EU leaders have insisted that the deadlock over how to handle migrants and refugees must be broken this month.

In his first policy address, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte declared Europe’s immigration policy a “failure” and demanded that it be renegotiated. Italy has been the primary entry point for thousands of migrants to Europe via the Mediterranean this year.

Conte insisted the rest of the EU must take on a greater burden of accepting refugees, as well as negotiating with migrants’ home countries to return those who don’t qualify for asylum.

Germany’s deputy interior minister, Stephan Mayer, said “there are still considerable deficits” in the proposals…

Christian Band Member Shares Inspiring Faith Transformation: ‘Only God Could Have Done Any of It’

Christian Band Member Shares Inspiring Faith Transformation: ‘Only God Could Have Done Any of It’

Jen Ledger, the drummer for the Christian rock band Skillet, recently shared how she and her family came to faith.

“He just really radically intervened, and He changed me…It’s only by His grace, and goodness, and power that I’ve achieved anything. It was nothing to do with me and all to do with Him,” she said of her transformation to faith in Christ and success as a musician.

According to The Blaze, Ledger shared on the Billy Hallowell Podcast how her whole family came to faith through her brother’s attendance at a Christian school in America. Ledger says she had turned away from the Christian faith and thought Christians were hypocrites, but God intervened and changed her life. After she became a Christian, she also traveled to America and attended the same school as her brother. It was there that she connected with the Christian music scene and tried out to be a part of Skillet.

Ledger also talked about the amazing platform that God has given her to share the Gospel through the music of Skillet, and now, through her upcoming solo EP, titled “LEDGER.”

She shared how John and Korey Cooper, who are also members of Skillet, became her mentors, and how God used her interest in music and playing the drums to glorify Him, since she says she often feels like she is not talented enough, and yet God has clearly blessed her…

Supreme Court Overturns Lower Court Ruling Allowing Immigrant to Obtain Abortion

Supreme Court Overturns Lower Court Ruling Allowing Immigrant to Obtain Abortion

The Supreme Court voted unanimously this week to vacate a lower court ruling that allowed an undocumented teen to get an abortion.

The Texas teen, known as “Jane Doe” in court records, already had an abortion, but the Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to rule on the case in case the teen’s abortion set a precedent for similar cases.

In the case, the undocumented teenager was under federal custody in a Brownsville, Texas shelter. The shelter refused to take the teenager to an abortion clinic and it also refused to release her to her court-appointed guardians, according to The Texas Tribune.

The teenager then went to a crisis pregnancy center. The federal government complained that it did not have time to block the procedure with an appeal to the Supreme Court.

This week, however, the court ruled the issue was “moot” since the pregnancy had already been terminated.

The ruling, however, isn’t expected to have much impact. According to CNN, a lower court has already issued a temporary injunction against the government in the case so litigation will continue.

The case came to light when the ACLU challenged a Trump administration policy that barred federally funded shelters from facilitating abortion access for minors. The ACLU filed an emergency petition in federal court on behalf of the teen, and a federal district court ruled in…

Mississippi Congregation Sues United Methodist Church Over Property Dispute

A Mississippi congregation that voted to leave the United Methodist Church over theological differences is suing the denomination to retain ownership of its property.

Earlier this year, First United Methodist Church of Louisville voted overwhelmingly to leave the UMC, believing that the mainline denomination has failed to uphold biblical teaching on issues like homosexuality and abortion.

When the UMC Mississippi Conference refused to allow the church to leave with its property, the congregation filed suit.

Winston County Chancery Court Judge Edward Fenwick issued a temporary restraining order against the UMC last week, with a hearing on whether to make it a permanent injunction scheduled for Wednesday.

Seeds of Destiny 6 June 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Effect Of Awareness On Action

Topic: Effect Of Awareness On Action [Seeds of Destiny Wednesday June 6, 2018]

Scripture: And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. Matthew 14:28-29.

Thought For Today: Awareness affects your actions and your actions affect your results.

Previously, we saw the impact of awareness on atmosphere; the atmosphere a person attracts around himself is a function of his level of awareness of who he is.

Today, it is important to know that awareness affects behaviour and action. Awareness affects action and action affects results.

Sometime ago, I heard a funny story: a local person was listening to his small radio set in the bush while he was tending his flock. There was a program being aired on the Radio. Suddenly, he heard a cry of a small baby on the Radio, and out of compassion for the baby he could not see, he poured Kunu (a local drink made from cereal) on the speaker of his Radio. When he finished pouring it, the radio stopped working. When the baby stopped crying because the radio had stopped working, he concluded that the baby was satisfied, hence she stopped crying. The man behaved this way because of his mentality or level of awareness.

Awareness affects your actions and your actions affect your results. When the disciples who were in the ship saw Jesus and thought they had seen a ghost, Peter asked Jesus to allow him come to the water if Jesus was truly the one. When Jesus asked Peter to come, Peter began to walk on the water (Matthew 14:28-30). Peter stepped on the water on the basis of awareness and the water solidified under his feet. The awareness he had made him to act and he got a positive result. Anything you do under relevant awareness has unusual results; when you pray, praise, tithe, sow seeds and serve the Lord with awareness, you get tremendous results; but when you do things mindlessly, results are limited. It is the awareness behind your actions that makes your actions produce great results.

My counsel is, be conscious of who you are in God on the basis of the Word of God, practice what you believe and you will become it.

Remember this: Awareness affects your actions and your actions affect your results.

Assignments:
1. Renew your mind daily.
2. Act based on revelation from the Word of God.

Prayer: O Lord, I receive the grace to act or behave based on revelation from Your Word. Help me to renew my mind daily, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

On Tiananmen Anniversary, China Detains Dozens of Christians in Sichuan

On Tiananmen Anniversary, China Detains Dozens of Christians in Sichuan

International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that on June 4 at 3:30 pm, local authorities raided Autumn Rain Covenant Church in Sichuan, China to summon pastor Wang Yi and preacher Li Yingqiang ahead of their scheduled prayer vigil for the 1989 Tiananmen crackdown.

Two hours later, pastor Wang Yi, his wife Jiang Rong, four preachers Li Yingqiang, Zhang Xudong, Ge Yingfeng, An Yankui, 11 other members of the church including Weng Guanghe, Liu Yingxu, Dai Zhichao, and Ran Yifei were taken away by the police.

In the process, preacher Li Yingqiang was brutally pushed against the wall, choked, and slapped multiple times by police officers. The authorities also cut the church’s electricity and placed a notice on the wall which reads, “[…] this is not an authorized place for religious gathering, […] please go to an authorized and registered religious venue to participate in religious activities.”

A source in China who wishes not to be named confirmed with ICC that, at the time of writing, the entire group is still being held by the government. Neither pastor Wang Yi nor his wife could be contacted.

June 4 marks the 29th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square crackdown in China, where an estimated several hundred to thousands of student protesters were killed by the government, with more than 10,000 people arrested during and after the protests.

According to…
