Joyce Meyer’s Daily 9 February 2018 Devotional: The Enemy Has a Plan Too

Topic: The Enemy Has a Plan Too [Joyce Meyer’s Daily Friday February 9th, 2018]

Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. — 1 Peter 5:8 (AMPC)

God has a plan for your life, but the devil has a plan for you too. As a result, the Bible says we need to Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times.

Temperate means “disciplined,” sober of mind means “serious,” vigilant means “determined” and cautious means “careful.” We are to live like this at all times. That’s serious.

But we need to get serious to fight off the enemy. Whenever God shows you an area in your life where the enemy is attacking you, that’s not the time to sit back and do nothing. It’s time to get serious and fight back against Satan.

God’s plan is for us to be more than conquerors in Christ. We don’t have to live enslaved to the enemy’s plan. You can decide right now to do what you need to do. Get serious with God, follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit, and stay on guard against the enemy. Choose today to follow God’s plan for your life, not Satan’s, and you will defeat the enemy at every turn.

Prayer Starter: God, I choose Your plan, not the enemy’s. Show me the areas where he is attacking me and guide me in defeating him.

Jesus’ birth among events Brits most wish they had seen

A poll commissioned by the gambling firm Casumo named the first coming of Christ 17th in a list of 50 historic moments Brits would have liked to have witnessed.

England’s victory over West Germany in the 1966 World Cup came in first place, followed by the Live Aid concert in 1985 and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

Greg Tatton-Brown from Casumo said: “It’s interesting to see that many of the most popular events we would most like to go back and witness, in the moment, with our own eyes, have already been televised and analysed in great detail.

“But there’s something about the live experience, knowing that you are in the right place at the right time, witnessing history, which is very special.”

The Biblical accounts of Jesus’ life have inspired many movies, including the Mel Gibson film Passion of the Christ (2004) [pictured above] and Jesus of Nazareth (1977).

Our Daily Manna February 9, 2018: ODM devotional — They Were Not Angels

Topic: They Were Not Angels [Our Daily Manna ODM Friday, February 9th, 2018]

Romans 8:12-21; Joshua 1:8

Many times, we read and hear of great personalities that have made a difference in their generation. We often see them as larger than life portraits, or as supermen. We read of the Prophets and Patriachs! We read of Joseph, Moses, Abel, David, Samuel, Deborah, Gideon, Jephthan, Geronimo, Savonarola, Florence Nightingale, David Yonggi Tyndale., John and Charles Wesley, Smith Wigglesworth, David Yonggi Cho, Oral Roberts, Kathryn Kulman, Aimee McPherson, Martin Luther, Archbishop Idahosa, Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, Kenneth Hagin, Nelson Mandela, Chief Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Tafawa Balewa, Abraham Lincoln, Bill Gates, Kwame Nkruma, Chief M.K.O Abiola, Julius Ceaser, Plato, Napoleon, Charles Dickens, Dison, Faraday, Beethoven, Handel, etc, and lots more and we stand as dwarfs.

Let’s us pause a while and draw example from these men but CATCH THIS FACT ABOU THEM: They were like us! They were not angels, but they determined to quit in their various life battles!. They ate, often got tired, discouraged, got married, had children, some got divorced, went through financial trials and even temporary failure!

Thomas Edison, who discovered the electric bulb, was deaf and he was a newspaper vendor on trains! Charles Dickens was lame! Plato was a hunchback! Billy Graham was disappointed many times before he could find a life partner, and lots more. Collection of the names in the hall of fame of Hebrews 11 shows that they were also men of like passions like us. If they could make it, then you and your family will make it. When troubles show up, always remember the words of Paul Harvey.

“In times like these, it’s always helpful to remember that there have always been times like these.” Never give up on life because THERE IS NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN. You will win this year and be celebrated too.

Hold on and hold out! Amen!

‘God’s hand’ is on America

Faith leaders, members of Congress, and dignitaries were in attendance, as well as The Voice producer Mark Burnett.

During a speech, President Trump dubbed America is a “nation of believers”, and said the country is “strengthened by the power of prayer”.

“All we have to do is open our eyes and look around us, and we can see God’s hand,” President Trump said.

“In the courage of our fellow citizens, we see the power of God’s love at work in our souls, and the power of God’s will to answer all of our prayers.

“When Americans are able to live by their convictions, to speak openly of their faith, and to teach their children what is right, our families thrive, our communities flourish, and our nation can achieve anything at all.”

Mr Trump said God’s grace permeates the country through a million acts of kindness, courage and generosity.

“When catastrophic hurricanes struck, first responders and everyday citizens dove into rushing waters to save stranded families from danger” he said.

“During the horrific shootings, strangers shielded strangers, and police officers ran into a hail of bullets to save the lives of their fellow Americans, right in Las Vegas.

“Communities and churches have reached out to those struggling with addiction, and shown them the path to a clean life, a good job, and a renewed sense of purpose.”

President Trump condemned Islamic State (IS) for its brutal…

Bishops sign petition against ‘racist’ Enoch Powell plaque

Fifty years after Enoch Powell MP delivered a speech which widely criticised immigration, the local Civic and Historical Society received an application to honour him in his former constituency.

However, Rt Rev Clive Gregory, Bishop of Wolverhampton and Rt Rev Michael Ipgrave, Bishop of Lichfield, have signed a petition by the group Black Country Stand Up To Racism called ‘No blue plaque for Enoch Powell!’

Powell was MP for Wolverhampton between 1950 and 1974 but was sacked by Tory leader Ted Heath from the shadow cabinet after his speech caused outrage at his inflammatory rhetoric.

Bishop Clive said in a statement: “I speak on behalf of all the major faith traditions in this city, in strongly opposing the idea of a blue plaque to commemorate Enoch Powell.

“Our inspirational city motto ‘Out of darkness cometh light’ is aptly applied to the response to Enoch Powell’s attempts to stir racial hatred through his ‘Rivers of Blood’ Speech.”

The bishop said the harmony of Wolverhampton today “owes nothing to the legacy of Enoch Powell but a great deal to many who will never be considered for blue plaques.”

Bishop Clive added that opposing it was necessary: “It is disingenuous to suggest that the conferring of a blue plaque on such a divisive figure would be a neutral act.

“It would be widely interpreted as honouring Enoch Powell’s racist views and would no doubt provide a…

Down syndrome child is Gerber’s “Spokesbaby of the year”

Congress voted early this morning to reopen the federal government by passing a $400 billion budget deal. Meanwhile, the Winter Olympics opening ceremony began in South Korea just a few minutes ago.

These events are leading the news, but I want to focus on a completely different story.

Lucas Warren is eighteen months old and lives in Dalton, Georgia. He was chosen this week to be Gerber’s new “Spokesbaby of the year.” Lucas was selected from more than 140,000 entries in the company’s photo search contest.

He is the first child with Down syndrome to be chosen.

As Nick Pitts notes, Lucas would probably have been aborted if his parents lived in the Netherlands. Their termination rate for babies with Downs is between 74 percent and 94 percent.

In Denmark, the abortion rate for Down syndrome babies is 98 percent. As much as 80 percent of the Danish population is irreligious. Here’s my question: Should not such a secular culture be especially committed to the value of this life since they don’t believe in the life to come?

My son Ryan and I were discussing this subject and he asked the converse question, “Why would we mourn death if we don’t value life?” If life has no intrinsic meaning, why would death matter?

Ryan noted that Christians don’t fear death because we value the life to come. We know that death is not the end of life but the beginning of its next stage. That’s why Scripture teaches, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” (Psalm 116:15).

“Make me know my end”

Genesis 3 records the banishment of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden after their sin. The Lord sent Adam from the garden “lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever” (v. 22).

Being barred from the tree of life was not an act of punishment; God’s purpose was to keep humans from living forever in our fallen bodies and broken world. Would you want to spend eternity in your body as it…

More Snowfall in Sahara Desert—Sign of End-Times Messianic Era? .

(Pixabay/skeeze)

Snow in the Sahara desert has been a rare phenomenon, yet the Algerian town of Ain Sefra experienced on Tuesday its second snowfall of this winter. Although statistically, still a rare occurrence, the overall rate of snowfall appears to be picking up drastically.

Ain Safra is a small town on the edge of one of the largest and hottest deserts in the world, earning it the moniker of the “Gateway to the Desert.” It snowed 40 years ago, but the locals were able to pack away their…
