Christian actor Jim Caviezel has spoken about the sequel to The Passion of the Christ, saying it will be “the biggest film in history.”
Although a release date for the film has not yet been given, anticipation is already building.
The Passion of the Christ, directed by Mel Gibson and starring Caviezel as Jesus, came out in 2004–14 years ago already, according to The Daily Wire.
The film grossed over $370 million, making it the highest-grossing R-rated film ever made in the U.S., so Caviezel’s prediction that the sequel will be “the biggest film in history” has some credence.
Although Caviezel didn’t reveal much, he did cryptically remark, “There are things that I cannot say that will shock the audience. It’s great. Stay tuned.”
The sequel will reportedly focus on the Resurrection. In 2016, Gibson said, “The Resurrection. Big subject. We’re trying to craft this in a way that’s cinematically compelling and enlightening so that it shines new light, if possible, without creating some weird thing.”
Caviezel is an outspoken Christian who is often involved in faith-related projects. The United Methodist Church says there has been a drop in sexual harassment incidents, according to a report released by the mainline Protestant denomination.
Compiled by the UMC’s General Commission on the Status and Role of Women in 2017 titled, “Sexual Misconduct in The United Methodist Church: US Update,” the findings of the report were released Tuesday.
The report found that since 2005, overall incidents of sexual misconduct had decreased for respondents who identified as “clergy,” “laity,” or “employees” of the UMC. One category, “seminary students,” saw an increase.
“Overall, reports of sexual misconduct went up between 1990 and 2005, perhaps due to awareness and increased educational programs, many now required by Annual Conferences and seminaries. Since 2005, reports have declined for everyone except seminary students,” stated the report.
The report also found that 41.9 percent of sexual misconduct incidents happened in “public settings” like meetings and classes, most…

Reformed pastor and author John Piper suggested that Christians have only five seconds to choose between Jesus or whether they will allow lust to take over.
Piper responded on Wednesday to a college student on his desiringGod.org website, who asked how she can deal with lustful thoughts in a “sex-crazed” culture.
The influential author said that there is a two-part paradigm for transforming one’s mind in the battle against temptations, one being staying spiritually fit.
He used the analogy of physical exercise, namely that when people do resistance exercises, they become stronger; while with reception they eat healthy foods and get enough sleep, which prepares their bodies.
Pushing back the darkness, he said, is also vital.
“Now let’s apply it to spiritual and mental fitness the way the Bible says it happens. Of course, resistance and reception are not sequential. They’re not sequential, like some days you do resistance and some days you eat. No, it’s simultaneous, at the same time,” Piper explained.

In his first State of the Union address, President Donald Trump said that America “is strong because our people are strong.”
Trump spoke for about 80 minutes, making his speech the third-longest State of the Union in history. The longest address was President Bill Clinton’s final State of the Union in 2000.
Trump recalled his first of accomplishments, saying that he kept his promise to Americans.
“Just as I promised the American people from this podium 11 months ago, we enacted the biggest tax cuts and reforms in American history,” he said.
On infrastructure, he asked Congress for a bill that would generate at least $1.5 trillion in investments in infrastructure “that our country desperately needs.”
Trump also said that he was committed to protecting religious liberty in the country.
“In America, we know that faith and family, not government and bureaucracy, are the center of the American life. The motto is ‘in God we trust,’” he said.
Tennessee Congresswoman Diane Black called the address “inspiring.”
“He talked about making America great again as he did in the campaign,” she said.
In response to Trump’s speech, Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin, from West Virginia, said the address was a bipartisan message.

A legally blind man who tied up then brutally raped and sodomized a 13-year-old girl at Falls Creek church camp in Oklahoma, will serve no time in prison for his crime because a local district attorney didn’t think his time there would be “meaningful.”
The camp which is hosted at a conference center owned and operated by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, is considered the world’s largest summer youth camp.
In a plea deal The Oklahoman called “unusual” Tuesday, Murray County Assistant District Attorney David Pyle agreed to sentence 36-year-old Benjamin Lawrence Petty to 15 years on probation after he pleaded guilty to brutally raping and sodomizing the 13-year-old girl at the camp.
Court documents say Petty, who was working as a cook at the camp, tied rope around the girl’s wrists, raped her and then threatened her with physical harm if she told anyone.
Pyle told The Oklahoman that the main factor in recommending no jail time for Petty is that he was “legally blind” at the time of the crime. People who are legally blind, according to WebMD, “can still see — just not that clearly. That means if an object is 200 feet away, you have to stand 20 feet from it in order to see it…
