Melania Trump: Texas Hurricane Victims Need Renewed Help during Holiday Season

First Lady Melania Trump, along with Second Lady Karen Pence, are in Texas today, urging continued support for hurricane victims, particularly during the holiday season.

According to CBN News, the two women will go to Corpus Christi first to meet with first responders who helped victims of Hurricane Harvey. They will also travel to Rockport Texas to meet a family who lost their home in the hurricane.

In a statement from the White House, the First Lady encouraged Americans to continue to provide aid and support to hurricane victims, especially through the holiday season.

“The effects of the hurricane season are still being felt throughout southern portions of the United States and in Puerto Rico, and residents still need our help,” said Mrs. Trump. “While I am heartened by the strength and resilience of those impacted by the storms, I will continue doing all that I can to lend a voice and shine a spotlight on those who need assistance to rebuild and start new family traditions.”

“As Christmas and the New Year approach, I encourage people to lend their time volunteering or providing financial support to those still reeling from the hurricanes,” she continued.

Mrs. Pence echoed the First Lady’s sentiments, stating before their trip, “I am looking forward to the opportunity to accompany the First Lady in Texas and to visit with families and their children in…

Could bone fragment owned by American priest belong to Father Christmas?

Researchers at the University of Oxford radiocarbon tested the relic, long venerated as the bones of St Nicholas, and found it does date from the correct historical period.

While they cannot categorically prove they are from the Christian saint, the team said the results pinpoint the relic’s age to the fourth century AD – the time that some historians allege that St Nicholas died (around 343 AD).

“Many relics that we study turn out to date to a period somewhat later than the historic attestation would suggest,” said Professor Tom Higham, director of the Oxford Relics Cluster at Keble College’s Advanced Studies Centre.

“This bone fragment, in contrast, suggests that we could possibly be looking at remains from St Nicholas himself.”

St Nicholas, one of the most revered Christian saints, is thought to have lived in Myra, which is now modern day Turkey.

According to legend he was a wealthy man who was widely known for his generosity – a trait that inspired the story of Father Christmas as a bringer of gifts on Christmas Day.

Most of his remains have been held in the Basilica di San Nicola, in Bari, Italy, since 1087, where they are buried in a crypt beneath a marble altar, but over the years relic fragments have been acquired by churches around the world.

As many as 500 of St Nicholas’s bone fragments are believed to be held in Venice.

The bone analysed in Oxford – a pelvis fragment – is owned by Father Dennis O’Neill, of St Martha of Bethany Church, in…

Bishop David Oyedepo: Engaging the wonders of praise for fulfilment of prophecy!

Bishop David Oyedepo: Engaging the wonders of praise for fulfilment of prophecy!

Topic: Engaging the wonders of praise for fulfilment of prophecy!

Welcome to December, our month of fulfilment of prophecy.  Be rest assured that whatever is still missing in your life, God is more than able to complete it in Jesus’ name!

All through this month, Praise shall be the focus of our teaching and as we engage with all our heart, we shall surely experience Supernatural Breakthroughs! Today, I want to take us through what I have captioned, Engaging the Wonders of Praise for Fulfilment of Prophecy! We recognise from scriptures that every prophetic word is a spiritual seed. According to the parable of the sower, the seed is the Word of God, which is also defined as the incorruptible seed. As it is written: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever (1 Peter 1:23; see also Luke 8:11).

This means that every prophetic word is an incorruptible seed. Interestingly, every seed delivers on praise. As it is written: Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase… (Psalms 67:5-7; see also 2 Peter 1:20-21). Therefore, every prophecy requires praise to be fulfilled. However, it is important to know that every prophecy attracts oppositions. It is written: Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle (Deuteronomy 2:24; see also 1 Corinthians 16:9). Erroneously, for a long time, the church has seen warfare as principally engaging in prayer and fasting; but praise warfare is a principal factor in securing fulfilment of prophecies.

Let us examine some scriptural examples where praise warfare engendered the fulfilment of prophecies:

First, we must understand that praise is a platform through which God intervenes in the affairs of our lives. For instance, it took God coming down for His agenda to be fulfilled concerning the Israelites. Prior to that time, God said to Abraham: And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age (Genesis 15:13-15).

However, since every divine agenda naturally attracts opposition from hell, the gods of Egypt withstood that prophetic agenda through a resistance from Pharaoh and the taskmasters. Thus, there was 30 years delay; but when God came down, that prophetic word was fulfilled. God did not only deliver them, He remained in their midst (Deuteronomy 26:8; see also Exodus 12:41-42; Psalms 114:1-7).

The presence of God that dwelt with the Israelites was the big factor that ensured their entry into the Promised Land.  As a result of God’s presence with them, they enjoyed supernatural supplies in the wilderness for 40 years till they got to the Promised Land. To retain God’s presence is to see prophecies fulfilled without sweat; but to secure God’s presence, we must engage in praise as a lifestyle, which guarantees constant fulfilment of prophecies in our lives.

Moreover, when Jehoshaphat inquired from God what they needed to do, to win the battle against their enemies, God instructed them not to fight but to engage in praise warfare. As they obeyed, God set ‘ambushment’ against their enemies and they were all smitten, thus fulfilling the prophetic word from the Lord. Furthermore, it was a combination of a ‘long blast’ trumpet and a ‘long blast’ shout of praise as instructed by God, that brought down the wall of Jericho (2 Chronicles 20:17-23; Joshua 6:20).

God will only come down in response to our praises, and until God comes down, prophecies may not be fully fulfilled. That means, until we engage in praise warfare, we may not experience full delivery of prophecies (Psalm 22:3).

This was the weapon used by Paul and Silas. Though they prayed but at the instance of their praise, the foundation of the prison shook because of God’s presence in their midst and their liberty was established (Acts 16:25).

Furthermore, when God promised Abraham that he would give birth to a son in his old age, the Bible records that: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform (Romans 4:20-21; see also Genesis 22:16-18).

As a result, the prophecy was fulfilled with the birth of Isaac. However, before the arrival of God’s promise to Abraham, he was not a casual believer. Rather, he was fully engaged with God and was dedicated to Him. This shows that no prophecy will be fulfilled in our depressed state; rather, every prophecy must meet us actively engaged for them to deliver. Therefore, as you engage the weapon of high praises to secure God’s presence into your circumstances, you will experience ‘fearful’ fulfilment of every prophetic word concerning you in Jesus’ name! Remain ever blessed!

Friend, no matter how hard you try, prophecy will never be fulfilled in your life, until you are born again. Are you born again? If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I know I am born again!”  For further reading, please get my books: Understanding the Power of Praise and Wonders of Praise.

Chris Hemsworth Reads the Christmas Story at Disneyland Christmas Celebration

Chris Hemsworth Reads the Christmas Story at Disneyland Christmas Celebration

Recently, actor Chris Hemsworth read the Christmas Story from the Gospel of Luke at Disneyland’s annual Candlelight Ceremony.

As Fairthwire.com reports, although Disney has been accused of abandoning their family values in more recent times, this annual Christmas ceremony is a testament to the enduring magic of the Christmas Story, even for a secular company.

Disney’s Candlelight Christmas has been a tradition since the 1950’s when the park first opened, and involves singing of classic Christmas carols, a reading of the Christmas Story, and beautiful Christmas decorations, including a “living” Christmas tree.

This year, Chris Hemsworth was a special guest at the ceremony and took on the role of reading the Christmas Story from the Gospel of Luke.

In his deep voice, the “Thor” actor read portions of the Christmas Story which were interspersed with Christmas music from a choir, comprised of people formed into the shape of a Christmas tree.

You can see Hemsworth’s reading of the Christmas Story for yourself in the video below.

Heaven and hell not believed by as many as Brits think

The poll revealed that 45 per cent believe in heaven and 38 per cent believe in hell.

However, in representative surveys of approximately 1000 people, only 32 per cent say they believe in heaven and only 21 per cent say they believe in hell.

Those asked were more accurate in their guesses at belief in God. The average guess was that 43 per cent of people in Britain believe in God, when 39 per cent say they actually do.

Graham Nichols, the director of Affinity, a network of Christian organisations, told Premier the results on belief in heaven and hell were interesting: “It’s difficult to reconcile some of them. Quite a large proportion identify as Christians and yet quite a small proportion believe in heaven and hell so you wonder what those who identify as Christian actually believe.”

He explained why he thought this was odd: “In terms of the Christian message, it’s important that people believe in both. They’re both things that Jesus talked about a lot.

“Part of what he spoke about was both heaven and hell – hell to be avoided and heaven to be entered into.”

Regarding what the results tell us as Christians he replied: “I think it’s part of a general trend in a number of surveys about ignorance of the Christian faith and perhaps ignorance about the implications of, if you believe in the Christian God, what that means.”

When asked how Christians should respond to the poll, Graham Nicholls said: “We have that ongoing job to explain the truth.”

Device to Arrive in October 2018, to Pack the Intel Skylake-E Processor

MicrosoftShown is the Surface Book 2, which is considered to be the best laptop-tablet hybrid on the market today.

While Microsoft has yet to make an official announcement, it is now speculated that the Redmond-based company is releasing the Surface Book 3 next year and that the supposed next version of the company’s answer to Apple’s MacBook will pack more impressive specs and features.

According to sources, Microsoft is planning to release the Surface Book 3 in October 2018, and it is suggested that the device will impress tech fans furthermore. Allegedly, the device will pack the Intel Skylake-E processor (i9) and will boast of a 16 megapixels camera that is capable of high full-HD recording.

It is also speculated that the Surface Book 3 will once again impress with its NVIDIA high-end graphics card, which also aids in its longer battery life and improve the performance of its Surface Pen.

As far as its display is concerned, it is said that the Surface Book 3 will adopt the standard 4K resolution with 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, and will come in 16-inch and 15-inch screen size variants only as Microsoft is said to be getting rid of the 13.5 screen size variant.

Without question, the supposed specs and features of the Surface Book 3 are nothing short of impressive. However, gadget fans are advised to take everything with a grain of salt for now as they are nothing more than rumors as of this writing.

Meanwhile, there is no denying that Microsoft has given Apple a run for its money when it released its line of Surface products years ago. However, with the company releasing its first-ever Surface…

Researchers Believe They Have Discovered the Star of Bethlehem

Researchers Believe They Have Discovered the Star of Bethlehem

The Star of Bethlehem has intrigued scientists and theologians for centuries. Now, researchers believe they have identified what the star was and where in the sky it can be seen today.

According to an article by Ron Allen, the founder of the International Star Bible Society and published by .News.com, Chinese astronomers first observed a nova in 5 B.C. along the meridian of the star Altair (Altair means the wounding). Other astronomers (the biblical Wise Men) saw the star in the East and followed it to Bethlehem to see the Christ Child.

Allen writes that if an astronomer follows the Chinese longitude north up the meridian of the star Altair about 25 degrees, he will reach the latitude that the Wise Men would have seen directly over Bethlehem.

Today, at this spot in the night sky is a black hole known as X-1 Cygnus, located in the Cygnus constellation (the swan; also known as the Northern Cross). Allen goes on to explain that, since a black hole is the remains of a large nova, X-1 Cygnus can be identified as the Star of Bethlehem.

It is also worth noting that the star grouping of which X-1 Cygnus is a part is called the Summer Triangle, which is made up of three bright stars; namely, Deneb (the Lord comes), the aforementioned Altair, and Vega (He shall be exalted). These stars and their names point to the major events in the biblical narrative of Christ.

Allen…

Couple replaces money stolen from church

Stephen and Jayne Pagan said they were shocked and appalled that someone had broken into a donations box at Dornoch Cathedral just weeks before Christmas.

They described the theft as “gut wrenching” for a small place that worked hard to support local people and the wider community.

L-R Stephen and Jayne Pagan and Rev Susan Brown outside Dornoch Cathedral.

According to the Church of Scotland, a thief broke into a locked Perspex donations box on Friday.

Three women had stored £350 there the day before for safekeeping but the total sum of money taken was likely higher.

Mr Pagan said he and his wife, who run The Steading guesthouse at Balnapolaig, Dornoch decided to replace the £350, partly in memory of his late sister-in-law, Sonje Marshall, who died earlier this year at the age of 50.

Sonje, who had Down’s Syndrome and advanced dementia, regularly attended Dornoch Cathedral and its Common Ground group, which supports Adults with disabilities.

Mr Pagan said: “I felt a huge pain in my heart when I heard what had happened.

“It was almost like someone had died because this kind of thing tends not to happen in Dornoch.

“It was gut wrenching really and we couldn’t believe that someone would steal from a church at Christmas which is a time for giving not taking.

“We immediately said to each other ‘lets find out how much is missing’ and just replace it…
