Our Daily Manna November 7, 2017: ODM devotional – Just After The Rain

Topic: Just After The Rain [Tuesday, November 7, 2017]

Basic Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 4:8-10; 2 Corinthians 12:1-10

Welcome to today’s devotional! Whatever your cross, whatever your pain, there will always be sunshine, after the rain. Perhaps you may stumble, you might even fall, but God is always ready to answer your call. He knows every heartache and sees every tear. A Word from His lips can calm every fear. Our sorrows may linger through the night, but suddenly vanish at the dawn’s early light. The savior is waiting somewhere above, to give you His grace. Whatever your pain, God always sends rainbows after the rain. Is it not wonderful to know that God can give grace to the humble? Read the cry of a beloved saint below:

“I asked God to take my pain away. God said, ‘NO.’ It’s for me to take it away, but for you to give it away. I asked God to grant me patience; God said, ‘NO.’ Patience is a by-product of tribulations. It isn’t granted, it is earned. I asked God to give me happiness. God said ‘NO.’ I give blessings. Happiness is a choice. Happiness is up to you. I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. God said, ‘NO,’ I will give you life so that you can enjoy all things.”

No wonder Vs. 8 of the first scripture says: “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair. Persecuted but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.” Yes! That shall be your testimony at last because; it is pain that leads to gain. Refuse to complain! Hear Martin Luther King Jnr again: “If you can’t fly, run! If you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, crawl. But by all means keep moving.”

Yes, keep moving, because, just after the rain, your rainbow will appear to all. Ah, that was also the story of PAUL! KEEP MOVING! No quitting! Pray now!

Topic: Are You Overcoming? [Tuesday 7, November 2017]

Memorise: “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Romans 8:37

Read: John 16:31-33

31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?

32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Bible In One Year: John 11-12. Hymn: Sing Hymn 9: My Faith Has Found Resting A Place

MESSAGE:

God in His Word, states that everyone who will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. The experience of persecution is part of our heritage as believers in Christ Jesus. The world will treat you in a cruel manner simply because of your faith. They will do many things to hurt you simply because you have chosen to live righteous.

There are a lot of prices to pay for being a disciple of Jesus Christ, however the benefits of following Christ far outweigh its cost.

The Lord commands us to rejoice when we go through trials in life because great is our reward. People may say all kinds of evil against you. They may hate you. They may decide not to involve you in any beneficial thing, just to put you off. Don’t be afraid, you will surely laugh last.

Prayer Point: Father, please strengthen me that I may never bow to the pressures of life.

Sing Hymn 9: My Faith Has Found Resting A Place

My faith has found a resting place,
Not in device or creed;
I trust the ever living One,
His wounds for me shall plead.

Chorus:
I need no other argument,
I need no other plea,
It is enough that Jesus died,
And that He died for me.
Enough for me that Jesus saves,
This ends my fear and doubt;
A sinful soul I come to Him,
He’ll never cast me out.
Chorus:

My heart is leaning on the Word,
The living Word of God,
Salvation by my Savior’s Name,
Salvation through His blood.
Chorus:

My great Physician heals the sick,
The lost He came to save;
For me His precious blood He shed,
For me His life He gave.
Chorus.

DCLM Daily Manna 7 November, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi – Divine Love And Protection

Text: Deuteronomy 20:10-20

Key Verse: “That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God” (Deuteronomy 20:18).

The simple mind is often troubled to read some parts of the Bible where God directs His people ‘to smite’ their idolatrous neighbours and enemies ‘with the edge of the sword’ (Deuteronomy 20:13). Such people ask: Does God no longer love the work of His own hands? Such posers are triggered only when one looks at a small portion of the picture in God’s dealings with mankind.

Viewed from a wider perspective, one would appreciate that He always bears long until it is clear that such would not refrain from rebellion and idolatry (Genesis 15:16). God does not go out of His way to ask for the outright slaying of the Canaanites. In verses 10 and 11, He says there should be no war if the inhabitants of the Promised Land made peace with Israel. It was only where this condition was not met that Israel could smite them to save the land from being polluted by the heathen practices of the men and women of Canaan.

Being an impartial God, He would also not spare Israel if they went the way of the Canaanites. He wanted them to stay holy and serve Him only because He is “of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity” (Habakkuk 1:13). Indeed, Israel later fell into several snares and came under oppression for disobeying God’s commandment to deal squarely with the Canaanites.

God loves us such that He would go to great lengths to protect us. He demonstrated His compassion when He sent His only begotten Son to deliver us from the devices of the devil. He also reveals His love in the laws He gives to shield us from falling into worldly lifestyle. God’s love also manifests in the chastisement He metes out when we go astray or when He eliminates enemies who resist the gospel of Jesus.

Thought for the day: God’s protective love preserves.

TREM’s Daily 7 November 2017 Devotional by Dr. Mike Okonkwo - You Are Under The New Covenant

Topic: You Are Under The New Covenant — Tuesday November 7, 2017.

“For if the first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah:” – (Hebrews 8:7-8 KJV)

There are dispensations in the bible. And we must understand what obtains in each dispensation. What obtains in one dispensation may not apply to another dispensation. What has been happening over the years is that we have mixed up dispensations, and the result has been frustration. We are not standing as strong as we ought to because we have mixed up a lot of things.

God established covenant in every dispensation and released His blessings based on the covenant. It is very important therefore to rightly divide the word so that we can be positioned for His blessings. When Jesus came, under the dispensation of grace, the old covenant became obsolete and the new covenant which was promised by God came into force. The old covenant did not work. It was faulty. And the fault laid in the fact that man could not keep it. Therefore, God set it aside and decided to make a new one. “In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.” (Hebrews 8:13 KJV)

God said the type of covenant He will make, man will not be involved. In other words, what you do will not determine whether God blesses you. It is a covenant that is established on better promises “…by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant which was established upon better promises.” (Hebrew 8:6 KJV) Why are you still hanging on to the old covenant when God provided a better one. Under this covenant, God takes the responsibility to bless you and keeps your heaven open because He so much loves you. So don’t put yourself under condemnation. You are not under the law. You are under grace.

Scripture: And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. 1 Samuel 8:7.

Thought For The Day: Inside the prosperity of the devil is calamity; inside his wealth is death. To accept the devil’s fame is to embrace his shame.

A young pastor once came to our Ministry in desperate need for help. When he was brought to me, he said, ‘Pastor, please deliver me, I have been initiated’. How? What happened? I asked him. He answered, ‘Sir, I have been into Ministry for years, nothing was working. In fact, the more I prayed, the more things failed. It was as if God was no more there. It was at this juncture of not knowing what next to do that a friend who was also a pastor and whose church was flourishing suggested to me that he would take me somewhere and my life and Ministry would turn around. I followed him there and they washed my face and eyes. When I returned to my church, I began to see people’s names on their foreheads. I began to prophesy and perform miracles without stress, crowds started trooping in.

But something happened one day: the pastor that took me to that place visited me and said that I needed to bring a human sacrifice. It was at that point that I knew that I was initiated and that my life was in a great danger”. Incredible!

The truth is that the devil has no free gift. Inside the prosperity of the devil is calamity; inside his wealth is death. To accept the devil’s fame is to embrace his shame. Any suggestion from satan to prosper you, give you a husband/wife or make you famous is an invitation to frustration and destruction. The devil has nothing to offer but evil.

Beloved, there is no alternative to God; it is either God or God.

Remember This: Inside the prosperity of the devil is calamity; inside his wealth is death. To accept the devil’s fame is to embrace his shame.

Assignments:

1. Make a brutal determination and commitment not to have, take or seek any alternative to God.

2. Avoid anyone – friend, relative or colleague who is suggesting to you any alternative to God.

Prayer: O LORD, I make demands on Your grace to trust You even when I cannot trace You. I refuse every invitation to an alternative to You, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.
