TREM’s Daily 5 November 2017 Devotional by Dr. Mike Okonkwo - Your God Is A Merciful God

Topic: Your God Is A Merciful God — Sunday November 5, 2017.

“And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious…” (Exodus 34:6 KJV)

No one can keep God’s laws. No one! The Ten Commandments were never given to be kept. God didn’t give the commandments to be kept. He knew the people would fail. The law was given so that man can come to the end of himself and understand that he cannot help himself.

Notice that as soon as God finished giving the law in the book of Exodus, His mercies and loving kindness began to speak. In Exodus 20:24 (KJV) it is written: “An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.” God gave Israel His laws, and in His mercy and omniscience, He knew they could not keep it. So, in advance He said, prepare an altar because I know you will fail. Let that altar be the place that I will meet with you so that I will bless you.

That altar represents Jesus, our final sacrifice. That altar signifies what Jesus did on our behalf. God was saying here are the laws, but I will not let the devil kill you because I have great plans for your life. I will deal with you from the altar. However, some Christians still want to deal with God from the table of the laws.

Beloved, stop functioning from the table of the laws. Come to the cross and partake of the mercies in Christ. Jesus Christ is the manifestation of the mercy of God. Christ is God’s answer to man’s inability to keep the law. You cannot function from the table of the laws and expect to access His mercy. Look away from yourself, and receive by faith what His mercy has accomplished for you in Christ. The God we serve is merciful and His mind is full of you. Don’t let the devil cower you, God’s love for you is everlasting.

Seeds of Destiny 5 November 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche — Prophetic Covering

Seeds of Destiny 5 November 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche — Prophetic Covering

Topic: Prophetic Covering [Sunday November 5, 2017]

Scripture: The Lord used a prophet to bring Israel up from Egypt, by a prophet he cared for him. Hosea 12:13 (NIV)

Thought For The Day: Your father enhances your cover; your priest determines your shield.

A Prophetic covering is a spiritual shield and protection a person enjoys through a genuine Prophet of God or Pastor placed by God over his life. Prophetic covering is critical to destiny immunity and life security.

Prophetic covering guarantees your security from spiritual insurgency and destiny terrorism.

The truth is, your prophet enhances your protection. Your priest determines your shield. Your father determines your cover. Who fathers you determines who covers you. Your pastor enhances your preservation. Who surrounds you determines what you can survive.

Also, prophetic covering is vital for the impartation of energy for the pursuit of destiny. Every genuine prophet or pastor is a motivator, (not just motivational speaker); an imparter of energy who inflames your spirit and ruggedizes your mentality by releasing upon you the fire to dare the undareable. He imparts upon you the grace and audacity to face demons and the challenges of life.

Just as batteries are charged by electricity, your prophet or pastor charges you unto destiny fulfilment. And of course, you need to be charged in order to take charge.

Today, by the prophetic mantle upon my life, I prophesy the security of your life and destiny. You cannot die before your time. I impart on you the fire and power that you need to fulfill your destiny, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember This: Your father enhances your cover; your priest determines your shield.

Assignment(S):

1. Refuse to be a spiritual bastard and reject every temptation to work against your spiritual father.

2. Prayerfully ask God to show you who your pastor or prophet is, if you have not yet discovered your pastor or prophet.

Our Daily Bread 5 November 2017 Devotional – Joy and Justice

Our Daily Bread 5 November 2017 Devotional – Joy and Justice

Topic: Joy and Justice — Sunday November 5, 2017.

Read: Psalm 67, Bible in a Year: Jeremiah 34–36; Hebrews 2

You rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth. Psalm 67:4

At a conference in Asia, I had two eye-opening conversations in the span of a few hours. First, a pastor told of spending eleven years in prison for a wrongful murder conviction before he was cleared. Then, a group of families shared how they had spent a fortune to escape religious persecution in their homeland, only to be betrayed by the very people they had paid to bring about their rescue. Now, after years in a refugee camp, they wonder if they will ever find a home.

In both cases, victimization was compounded by an absence of justice—just one evidence of our world’s brokenness. But this vacuum of justice is not a permanent condition.

Psalm 67 calls on God’s people to make Him known to our hurting world. The result will be joy, not only as a response to God’s love but also because of His justice. “May the nations be glad and sing for joy,” says the psalmist, “for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth” (v. 4).

Although the Bible writers understood that “equity” (fairness and justice) is a key component of God’s love, they also knew that it will only be fully realized in the future. Until then, in our world of injustice, we can serve to point others to our God’s divine justice. His coming will see “justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” (Amos 5:24).

Prayer: Father, help us to work for Your justice now where we live, even as we await the day when You will make everything right. We long for that day.

Work for justice; pray for mercy.

Insight:

Do you have a special place in your heart for those who are being ignored, misrepresented, or taken advantage of? Psalm 67 expresses such a heart for the whole world. Yet notice where the songwriter begins and ends. He starts by adapting the well-known Aaronic blessing of Israel (Num. 6:24–26). He rightly interprets God’s desire for his own nation when he says, “May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us” (Ps. 67:1).

God’s heart for Israel, however, isn’t where the song stops. It’s just the beginning. The author of this psalm recognizes God’s purpose in choosing some for the blessing of all (vv. 2–7). From the beginning, God’s promise to bless the descendants of Abraham was not just for the benefit of an undeserving few. God’s plan and vision was far wider. His purpose was that, in a descendant of Abraham, all of the families of the earth would be blessed.

That intent was fulfilled in Jesus. Living and dying to show the love of God for the world (John 3:16), He began by naming twelve disciples to be His personal and chosen witnesses to proclaim the gospel—for the good and blessing of all.

Topic: Fight the Right Foe [Sunday November 5, 2017]

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. – 2 Corinthians 10:3

Do you know why so many believers are losing the battles in their lives?

They’re fighting the wrong enemy!

They’ve been deceived into believing that just because a person said or did something to hurt them, that person is the one they need to fight. But they’re wrong.

You see, the Bible says we don’t wrestle with flesh and blood. And since people are definitely flesh and blood, they’re never the source of our problem.

“But, Brother Copeland, you just don’t know what So-and-so did to me!”

It doesn’t matter. If you waste your time fighting So-and-so, your real enemy will get away scot-free.

Who is that real enemy? Look at Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Satan and his demons. They are your lifelong enemies! They are behind every personal affront you encounter.

The people who hurt you and persecute you are only Satan’s tools. When he wants to strike out at you, he uses them to get the job done.

Remember this: Persecution is not the manifestation of another person’s hate for you. It’s a manifestation of Satan’s fear of you. When you get into the Word and start swinging it around—using it like the sword of the Spirit it is—he gets scared. So he looks for some person he can send in there to stop you.

Next time someone hurts you, don’t let yourself get sidetracked into fighting them. Bind the spirit behind them. Put flesh-and-blood battles behind and war with the weapons of the Spirit. Zero in on Satan with authority and the Word of God and bring your real enemy down!

Andrew Wommack’s Daily 5 November 2017 Devotional – Chosen Before Creation

Topic: Chosen Before Creation [Sunday November 5, 2017]

John 17:24 “Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.”

Text: John 17:24

God the Father had the plan of salvation worked out before He even created the world. Most of us would not have created the world and man if we knew the heartache and terrible sacrifice it would cost. But God is not man. In His judgment (which is the correct judgment) the prize was worth the cost.

We were chosen in Christ before the world began. The Lord did not choose us by our merit, but solely by our acceptance of Christ which His foreknowledge allowed Him to do before the foundation of the world. In the strictest sense, we were not personally chosen, but Christ was chosen and all those who are “in Christ” partake of His being chosen by His Father. Just as we are the beneficiaries of the covenant between God the Father and His Son Jesus, so we are chosen because we chose God’s chosen, i.e. Christ. The Father would no more reject us than He would reject Jesus because we are accepted by the Father through Christ.

None of us can claim that we are without blame in the sight of men because man looks on the outward appearance (1 Sam. 16:7) and all of us have sinned (Rom. 3:23). But the Lord looks on our born-again spirit which has been regenerated in Christ and He sees us holy and without blame.

If you look at any color through a red glass, that color becomes red. The same thing would happen if you looked through a green glass. Everything would become green. In a similar way, God looks at us through Christ and everything in our life becomes covered by the blood of Jesus. We are holy and without blame before Him because of His love expressed through His Son.

Topic: Human Nature [Sunday November 5, 2017]

Who so trusteth in the Lord, happy is he. — Proverbs 16:20

There is much in our nature that perplexes us. Many people are disturbed as they confront the troubling riddle of their own existence. They are bewildered by their proneness to sin and evil. They quake and tremble at the thought of their inability to cope with their own lives.

Christ can give you satisfying answers to such questions as “Who am I?” “Why was I born?” “What am I doing here?” “Where am I going?” All of the great questions of life can be measured when you come by faith to Jesus Christ and receive Him as your Lord. Let Him be your Pilot. He can take away the worry from your life.

Prayer for the day: I trust You, Lord, to control my life. Knowing You will guide me in the right path gives me joy.

Top 7 Answers for Racial Reconciliation From a Christian Perspective

Ninety-five Christian leaders from many parts of the U.S. answered the call to promote racial reconciliation and combat “systemic segregation in the American church” in a piece published by the Mosaix Global Network on the 500th anniversary of the Reformation on Oct. 31.

The “95 Theses” was written in the hope that the “collective words will a) help fan the flames of this legitimate movement of the Holy Spirit in our lifetime, (b) spur important conversation, (c) inspire conviction, and (d) motivate literally thousands of pastors, church planters, ministry leaders, to take action in their own local churches, in order to advance systemic change, over the next few years,” wrote Mosaix Global Network Co-Founder Mark DeYmaz.

Below are seven quotes chosen by the editor of TogetherLA.net for their profound and simple call for the local church to work toward the change God is calling us to be a part of.

1) Wilfredo “Choco” De Jesús, senior pastor at New Life Covenant Church in Chicago, Illinois:

“Without sacrifice, diversity remains a nice, romantic ideal. In the spirit of reformation, we must move from efforts and ideals to sacrifice and service for diversity to become reality in the Church.”

2) The Rev. Elizabeth Childs Drury, professor and pastor at The Wesleyan Church:
