Pray for FBC Blue Eye

Location: Blue Eye, Arkansas

Pastor: Terry Lynch

Weekly Worship: 10:45 AM, Central

Fast Facts: First Baptist Church of Blue Eye celebrated its 134th birthday earlier this fall. To celebrate, they hosted a community outreach crusade at the community football field. Please pray for FBC as they are experiencing some spiritual growth challenges and resistance to change. Some members have struggled with the concept of going outside the walls of the church to reach people and just loving people. Continue to pray for them as they gear up for Christmas outreach.

Catholic bishops launch new Philippines prayer campaign

The Archbishop of Lingayan-Dagupan, Socrates Villegas, who is also president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, spoke as the church launched a new prayer campaign to “heal the nation and stop the killings” in the country.

The Archbishop of Manila also called for an end to the “waste of human lives” and said the issue of drugs in the country “should not be reduced to a political or criminal issue” as it’s a “humanitarian concern that affects all of us”.

More than 3,900 Filipinos have been killed in what the police called self-defence after armed suspects resisted arrest.

Rights groups and lawmakers have however condemned what they describe as a “killing spree”.

The new campaign follows the 40-day ringing of church bells and lighting of candles for all the people killed in President Rodrigo Duterte’s 16-month war on drugs.

Speaking at a mass held at the Catholic shrine of Mary Queen of Peace, Archbishop Villegas asked: “Why do we applaud the killings?

“We chose violence instead of peace. We chose lies instead of truth. We chose to laugh at obscenities instead of correcting these. We chose to be silent than to be involved.”

Bishops in the country are calling on the faithful to pray with the rosary for 33 days until 8th December, which marks the feast of the Immaculate Conception, according to Reuters.

Missionary warns North Korea’s Christians at risk if Trump attacks

Robert Park, a Korean-American missionary who was tortured after sneaking into Kim Jong-un’s nation has urged the USA not to attack.

According to The Sunday Express, Mr Park was tortured after crossing into the secretive state on Christmas Day, 2009 to spread Christianity.

He only regained his freedom two months later, after allegedly being subjected to physical and sexual abuse.

In an open letter to Mr Trump, he predicted Christians would be the first to suffer in the event of an escalation in the conflict on the Korean peninsula.

He explained: “Please kindly be reminded that a large number of underground Christians are within North Korea.

“They are the most persecuted religious group in the world, according to multiple watchdogs of religious rights internationally.

“As I pray your team accepts upon deep reflection, it would be decidedly un-Christian to countenance indiscriminate killings of those who are among the people in the world who suffer the most.”

The Open Doors Word Watch List currently rates North Korea the worst country in the world for Christian persecution.

Mr Park has spent years campaigning against North Korea’s human rights record – especially towards the state’s Christian population.

He urged Mr Trump to instead try and find a peaceful solution.

He added: “There is a thoroughly workable and peaceable solution to the North Korea crisis. It involves reaching out to the general populace of North…

Open Heavens 6 November 2017: Monday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – He Responds To Love

Open Heavens 6 November 2017: Monday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – He Responds To Love

Topic: He Responds To Love — Monday 6, November 2017.

Memorise: I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. – Proverbs 8:17

Read: Proverbs 8:17-18 (KJV)

17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

Bible in One Year: Job 1-4, Hosea 14, Hymn: Sing Hymn 1 – My Faith Looks Up To Thee

MESSAGE:

From the encounter the widow of Zarephath had with God in 1 Kings 17:8-16, we learn that God knows how to reciprocate love. It takes deep love for God for you to be ready to give up your very last meal for His sake. When in Proverbs 8:17 God said,

“I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.”

Coming up next: Open Heavens 7 November 2017: Tuesday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Seeing Jesus Purifies

He meant every word of it. When the widow was told to go and first prepare food for Elijah, she looked at him and said, “I will do it. Not for you, but for your God and because of my love for Him” Can it be said that you truly love the Lord? The testimony of genuine love for God is a great testimony every believer in Christ should have. After all is said and done, may it be declared concerning you that you loved the Lord!

Beloved, do you know that the giving of first fruits is just a test of your love for God? By the grace of God, out of my love for God and to reach out to lost souls, I desired to convene a Holy Ghost Congress. The first Congress took place in 1977. l wanted to invite all students to come together for this purpose, but I could not afford to feed them all. I had no money, but I had a car, and without thinking much about it, I sold the car for that purpose. I did this with every sense of joy and satisfaction. At that time, some people thought I was mad, and really, I was madly in love with God.

When God says He loves those who love Him, He means it. When you demonstrate how much you love Him, He will reciprocate. Just recently, I announced to the congregation that I no longer had a need for cars, so nobody should give me a car as a gift anymore. When I got home that same day, four new cars were already waiting for me. I said I didn’t want any more cars, but God said I haven’t seen anything yet. I gave Him my first car and ever since, He keeps sending me cars. The widow gave God her last meal and God kept sending more meals to her. While everyone around her was either starving or dying due to famine, she and her household got more fattened. You may not believe this, but do you know that I gave the very first house I built in my life to the Lord? For me, it was indeed a pleasurable thing to do. I did not come into this world with a house. God built one for me and when He needed it, I gave it to Him out of love. I can tell you that He has been very faithful to me ever since. Are you are still holding back the lands, houses, money and other things that you could have given Him to demonstrate your love and provoke greater returns? Do you really love Him?

Action Point: Pray that God will cause your nation to make progress in every sector.

Sing Hymn 1: My Faith Looks Up To Thee

Verse 1:
My faith looks up to thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine;
Now hear me while I pray;
Take all my guilt away.
O let me from this day
Be wholly thine!

Verse 2:
May thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire.
As thou hast died for me,
O may my love to thee
Pure, warm, and changeless be,
A living fire!

Verse 3:
While life’s dark maze I tread
And griefs around me spread,
Be thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From thee aside.

Verse 4:
When life’s swift race is run,
Death’s cold work almost done,
Be near to me.
Blest Savior, then, in love
Fear and distrust remove.
O bear me safe above,
Redeemed and free!

Winners crowned at Premier Digital Awards 2017

Tearfund’s Toilet Twinning campaign was the star of the evening taking the coveted People’s Choice Award and the Best Online Campaign at the awards ceremony on Saturday evening.

The organisation told Premier that it was “absolutely incredible to win”.

Toilet Twinning CEO Lorraine Kingsley said: “We’re just all about the fact that 2.3 billion people in the world don’t have a loo and to win this award means that people love the fact that for £60 they can donate some money and they can change the lives of people living in a poor community forever.

“To me that’s just incredible that people would be that generous and would want to do something that expresses their faith and says we’re for people that are living in poverty and we believe that God is a God of justice and he believes that people in poverty shouldn’t be in poverty and we’ll do all we can to end generational poverty through Toilet Twinning.”

The charity initiative also received the prize of an AppKettle WiFi Smart Kettle at the event held in The Brewery in London.

Toilet Twinning was one of 17 award winners made up of churches, Christian community organisations and individuals at the 11th Premier Digital Awards ceremony, organised by Premier, hosted by gospel artist FaithChild and Premier presenter Maria Rodrigues.

Kevin Bennett, Chief Operations Officer at Premier, explained the significance of the awards and said: “The awards programme was established in 2007 to encourage more Christians to…

Joyce Meyer’s Daily 5 November 2017 Devotional: Walk with Boldness

Joyce Meyer's Daily 5 November 2017 Devotional: Walk with Boldness

Topic: Walk with Boldness [Sunday November 5, 2017]

But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us. — Romans 5:8

Some people exude boldness, while others struggle with living boldly as a beloved child of God. I had that problem until God showed me some important keys that helped me live boldly, and I want to share them with you.

1. Refuse to live in fear. Fear is epidemic in our society. The Bible instructs us in Hebrews 10:38 to live by faith and not draw back in fear.

2. Put setbacks behind you. You are not a failure because you try new things and they don’t work out. You fail only when you stop trying. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, and if you do, recover quickly and press on.

3. Don’t draw comparisons. Boldness will be impossible as long as you compare yourself to others. Boldness comes from accepting who you are and being the best you can be.

4. Be willing to take action. Search your heart and ask yourself what you believe God wants you to do—and then do it.

Pray about these four keys and ask the Holy Spirit to help you live them out. In Christ, and by His grace, you can have confidence and be filled with boldness.

Prayer Starter: Holy Spirit, I want boldness to be one of my defining traits. Help me live out these four keys by Your strength.

David Abioye’s Daily 5 November 2017 Devotional – The Power Of Promptness

David Abioye's Daily 5 November 2017 Devotional - The Power Of Promptness

Topic: The Power of Promptness [Sunday November 5, 2017]

…what thou does, do quickly…

Matters become stale and issues die whenever there is inaction.

Be neither slow nor in hurry but be prompt! Psalm.32:7, 8.

Right action at the right time at the right place is the secret of excellence.

Fight unholy and unprofitable hesitation.  It is another practice of procrastination. It is procrastination in disguise;

– There are things to fight – 1Timothy.6:10

– There are things to say and do

– There are programs to run.

The beauty of everything is in its timing. Ecclesiastes 3:11

Strike when the iron is hot. If you don’t want to miss your impact

Do not wait for convenience; you may waste in the process.

The only way to develop and improve your promptness is to practice it – what you practice you perfect. I see every form of procrastination and hesitation destroyed from my life and destiny.

Be instant!  Be in time!

If you hesitate, you may find no open gate later. Songs of Solomon.5:6

Our Daily Manna November 5, 2017: ODM devotional – The Weapon Of Worship – 2

Our Daily Manna November 5, 2017: ODM devotional – The Weapon Of Worship - 2

Topic: The Weapon Of Worship – 2 [Sunday, November 5, 2017]

Basic Scriptures: Genesis 22:1-14

Yesterday we saw that worship is obeyed singing: Singing is the vocal expression of a surrendered heart with crowns (comforts and glory of life) cast down in surrender. Worship is NOT JUST SINGING! Worship is when you can give your best car for example or property to God without argument! Worship was when Abraham offered Isaac! They did not sing, but it was powerful worship on the mountain of Moriah (Genesis 22:5). Worship is when you can tithe faithfully and give your money to advance God’s work! What Isaac was to Abraham, was what the crowns meant to the twenty-four elders of Revelation 4:10.

What is your Isaac? This is your day to surrender it! The Holy Ghost is brooding over this page right now to help you to worship your God in truth and in spirit as the year ends and a new one begins soon! When He stands, we must but fall before Him, kneel on the ground with heads bowed to the ground. True end time worship is under attack by Satan, but there is coming a restoration. Satan is putting pride, ego and self into the church! Many have taken spirituality in none hand and materialism in the other!

Some Pastors now spend half their sermons on money and prosperity alone! Many believers take Christianity with one hand and worldliness with the other! This is the time to re-dedicate your life and ministry to God! End time worship is the devil’s envy! Don’t worship your ministry or the praise of men! Don’t worship your children, money or anything! An idol is anything that takes the place of God! Your Isaac can become your idol! Surrender your Isaac now! Cast down your crowns!

Prayer Points: Take any worship song as led.

1. Open Revelation 4:9-10 and declare it boldly in worship!

2. Lord, take my Isaac now- I surrender the following………( mention important people, things or properties in your life).

3. I will not worship any other god in Jesus name. I decree that I shall have no IDOL beside my God!

4. Pray yesterday’s prayer points.

5. Oh God, make my life exactly what You want it to be in Jesus name.

DCLM Daily Manna 5 November, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi – ‘Twill Soon Be Over’

Topic: ‘Twill Soon Be Over’— Sunday November 5, 2017.

Text: 2 Chronicles 24:15-22

Key Verse: “But Jehoiada waxed old, and was full of days when he died; an hundred and thirty years old was he when he died” (2 Chronicles 24:15).

It was said of D.L. Moody that on his dying bed, he joyfully proclaimed, “Earth recedes. Heaven opens before me. If this is death, it is sweet! There is no valley here. God is calling me and I must go.” Matthew Henry, the writer of one of the most exhaustive Bible commentaries, was said to have called on someone on his dying bed and said to him, “you have been used to taking notice of the sayings of dying men. This is mine: that a life spent in the service of God and communion with Him, is the most comfortable and pleasant life that anyone can live in this world.”

Augustus M. Toplady, author of the hymn “Rock of Ages Cleft for Me”, in his last hour on earth exclaimed, “All is light, light… Lord Jesus, come, come quickly”. Jehoiada the priest, died an old man and was buried in the city of David among the kings because he had done good in Israel, both toward God and toward his house.

All these people and many more passed on peacefully with full assurance in their hearts that they were bound for an eternity of glory and delights. Time, our most valued life’s asset, is the least under our control. You cannot control the length of your life, but you can control its width and depth. You cannot control the weather, but you can control the atmosphere of your mind. Why worry about things you cannot control when you can keep yourself busy controlling the things that depend on you? Do not occupy your life with things that will sooner or later be changed. Time and life would soon end. So, focus on the things that must be changed now or never. It is wise to give priority to the transformation of your life and destiny to avoid being hurt all through eternity.

Thought for the day: Salvation begets the passport for eternity.
