Only a few weeks after relations with Iran came to a fever pitch, an Iranian lawmaker is now offering a $3 million reward to anyone who kills President Trump, according to Reuters.

“On behalf of the Kerman province, we will pay a $3 million reward in cash to whoever kills Trump,” said Ahmad Hamzeh to the 290-seat Iranian parliament on Tuesday.

Kerman was home to Qassem Soleimani, the Iranian commander killed in a drone strike earlier this year that sparked military attacks between Iran and the U.S.

Hamzeh went even further than offering a bounty for Trump’s life; he also encouraged parliament to start making nuclear weapons.

“If we had nuclear weapons today, we would be protected from threats…We should put the production of long-range missiles capable of carrying unconventional warheads on our agenda. This is our natural right,” he said.

According to Fox News, it is unclear is Hamzeh’s offer has any backing from Iran’s top leaders.

Iran agreed in 2015 to slow its nuclear activities in return for sanctions relief under the Obama administration. But since the current administration pulled out from the pact, Iran has also started to show signs of breaking the deal. In response, Britain, France and Germany “triggered a dispute mechanism in the nuclear pact, starting a diplomatic process that could lead to reimposing U.N. sanctions.”

Before giving up the podium for Vice President Mike Pence to honor the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in a church service this weekend, Bishop Vincent Mathews Jr. called the vice president one of the “most persecuted Christians in America.”

“One thing I love about this man of God, you know if you don’t know anything, is that he is one of the most persecuted Christians in America,” the world missions president of the predominantly African American Church of God in Christ said, according to The Christian Post. “The biggest criticism that he gets all over television and everywhere else is that he actually believes the Bible. One of the nation’s most prominent pro-life groups, along with its political action committee, are pledging $52 million to elect pro-life candidates and re-elect President Trump, who they say “has governed as the most pro-life president in our nation’s history.”

Susan B. Anthony List and its partner super PAC, Women Speak Out, said in a memo to supporters they will visit more than 4 million voters in the “critical presidential and senate” battleground states of Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Texas.

The comprehensive effort will include door-to-door visits, traditional mail, phone calls and digital media – all of which will “reinforce the field effort as part of SBA List’s overall $52 million 2020 cycle budget,” the memo said.

The $52 million is more than the $45 million pledged by Planned Parenthood to defeat Trump.

San Antonio’s legal fight to keep Chick-fil-A out of its airport has cost the city more than $300,000, according to a new report.

The city’s legal fees in a pair of lawsuits and state and federal investigations have totaled $315,000, and that number is still rising, according to KENS-TV in San Antonio. 

San Antonio’s city council voted last year to exclude Chick-fil-A from the San Antonio International Airport, in part due to the company’s donations to the Salvation Army and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Council members claimed the restaurant has a history of “anti-LGBT discrimination.”

Chick-fil-A is the third largest restaurant in the United States by sales. 

Although the company changed its giving strategy last year, the city still opposes the company opening a restaurant in the airport.

This month, a judge ruled against the city and allowed a lawsuit against it to proceed. The suit by the San Antonio Family Association accuses the city of discrimination against Chick-fil-A for its owners’ Christian beliefs. It also says the city violated the state’s new “Save Chick-fil-A” law.

Kirk Franklin is opening up about his struggle with anxiety and depression in 2019 after what he called a “high amount of loss” in his life.

According to The Christian Post, Franklin posted a video detailing his struggles on his Instagram Friday.

“[In] 2019, I experienced a high amount of loss in my life. I went to more funerals in 2019 than I’ve ever been to in my life. I went to the funerals of friends, the funerals of people’s parents and the funeral of people’s kids and it was a lot,” he said in the video.

In recent months, Franklin helped support Tony Evans, who lost his wife to cancer in December. Franklin also supported fellow Christian music artist TobyMac, whose 21-year-old son unexpectedly died in October.

“It just really brought a lot of anxiety. To me, I really struggle with a lot of anxiety and really got into a funk that I couldn’t really get out of. [It was] this just really dark funk, that I was in, depression, battling it. Not only that, just the anx (sic) that death can bring to you also is this anxiety about the future. It’s a fear of who’s next, what’s next?” Franklin added.

The 49-year-old then noted that he has reached out to his therapist.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday agreed once again to take up the Obama-era abortion/contraceptive mandate in a case that will determine if a Trump administration rule granting religious exceptions to the mandate was proper.

Lower courts ruled against the Trump administration, and the administration appealed to the high court. 

At issue are rules finalized by the Trump Department of Health and Human Services in 2018 that exempted employers “who have a religious or moral objection” to contraceptives and certain abortion-inducing drugs from being forced to cover them within Obamacare. The new rules did not apply to publicly traded companies.

The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, required the coverage of “preventive care,” which Obama’s HHS interpreted as covering any Food and Drug Administration-approved contraceptive and sterilization procedure – including those such as Plan B, which can work after fertilization, and “ella,” which can work after implantation. Pro-life groups consider the latter two drugs abortifacients. 

Pennsylvania and California filed suit in separate circuits against the Trump rules in federal court and won. The Supreme Court will hear appeals from the Pennsylvania case, Trump v. Pennsylvania, and from a separate case, Little Sisters of the Poor v. Pennsylvania. The two cases will be consolidated.
