On Wednesday, President Trump gathered with top Republican lawmakers and Justice Department officials to commemorate the appointment of his 150th federal judge, according to Fox News.

Trump called the occasion a “profoundly historic milestone and a truly momentous achievement.” The Trump administration hopes to appoint 182 federal judges in total. One hundred and twelve of those judges have been confirmed to district courts; 43 to appeals courts and two on the Supreme Court.

“In terms of quality and quantity, we are going to be just about number one by the time we finish—number one of any president, any administration,” Trump continued. “So I want to thank all of you for the incredible job you’ve done. They will uphold our Constitution as written.”

During the celebration, the president handed the stage over to onetime rival Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) who praised Trump for his work.

“The defining moment of your presidency was the Kavanaugh hearing,” Graham, a staunch supporter of the Supreme Court justice, said. “This room would be empty if we had failed Brett Kavanaugh. Brett Kavanaugh lived a life we should all be proud of. He worked hard. And the way he was treated was the worst experience I’ve had in politics. A lot of people would have pulled the plug on him. Mr. President, thank you, for not pulling the plug.”

In a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood, drag queen performers in Washington state mocked pro-lifers and area pastors by auctioning off cardboard cutouts of local Christians. 

According to the Christian Post, the drag queens used large cutouts of the faces of pastors Ken Peters and Afshin Yaghtin, as well as the founder of 500 Mom Strong, Anna Bohach, and lined up on the stage for auction. The highest bidder won each of the “effigies,” Activist Mommy wrote on her blog.

The Planned Parenthood fundraiser was put on by pro-abortion group Spokane United Against Religious Extremism and The Church of Planned Parenthood. According to the group’s Facebook page, its purpose is to act as a “peaceful counter-protest and rising voice to religious extremism that is happening in our community.”

Particularly, the group is “focused on the hateful actions and rhetoric of the Church at Planned Parenthood and their affiliates.”

The Church at Planned Parenthood is a group of pro-life activists who meet in front of a Planned Parenthood building in Washington “for the worship of God and the corporate prayer for repentance for this nation, repentance for the apathetic church and repentance of our blood-guiltiness in this abortion holocaust.”

A federal judge Wednesday overturned a new Trump administration rule that protected the freedom of conscience of health care workers who are opposed to procedures such as abortion, suicide and gender-change procedures on religious or moral grounds.

The Department of Health and Human Services finalized the new rule in May, saying it protects “individuals and health care entities from discrimination” on the basis of conscience and fulfilled President Trump’s “promise to promote and protect the fundamental and unalienable rights of conscience and religious liberty.” 

But U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer, who was nominated by President Obama, ruled HHS exceeded its authority and that the rule was not needed.

“The Rule represents a classic solution in search of a problem,” Engelmayer wrote in a 147-page decision.

He acknowledged the rule protects some “important rights” and said the decision leaves HHS at liberty “to consider and promulgate rules governing these provisions.” But future rules from HHS must fit “within the confines” of the Administrative Procedure Act – a law that governs federal agencies – and within “the Constitution.”

Following a publicized, international custody battle, seven-year-old James Younger chose to attend school as a boy for the first time, according to the Christian Post.

James was the center of a fierce legal dispute when his mother, Anne Georgulas, wished to transition her son to a girl against his father’s wishes. After a jury agreed to allow Georgulas full consent to socially transition their son, family court Judge Kim Cooks of the 255th District of Texas stepped in to give joint managing conservatorship to both parents.

Georgulas assents she never wanted to “chemically castrate” her son, but Jeffrey Younger, the boy’s father, disagrees, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Because Jeffrey is under a gag order to not speak to the press on the matter, a friend of the family posted a photo of James and his twin brother, Jude, attending school dressed as boys. The family of three was also seen wearing suits to attend church.

“Jeff emailed the principal today and James and Jude’s teachers had reported that there was zero stress or disruptions in the classroom today. Just another day in school. Prayers answered,” the post said.

Friends of Younger set up a website called SJSaveThousands.com after the original website, SaveJames.com, was shut down due to the gag order. The new website speaks up for other children and parents…

A high school football player has been praised for his compassion after stopping to pray with an opponent after their game. Texas players Gage Smith and Ty Jordan were pictured kneeling down together in prayer following the game between Sherman and Mesquite High Schools.

Smith reportedly asked Jordan if he could pray with him after learning that his mother had stage 4 lung and bone cancer.

“It was meant for just me and him to have a moment and to pray over his family and for his mom,” Smith told TODAY. “I just wanted to let him know there are other people thinking about him and his family, and let him know he has somebody to turn to.”

An incredible image of the pair kneeling on the football field seeking the Lord together was snapped by the wife of Smith’s head coach, before being passed on to Jordan’s aunt Takka. Takka then posted the photo to Facebook where it went viral. According to ABC 8 News, the photo received more than 140,000 shares before Takka removed it from public view on Tuesday.

Smith was astonished that the photo had gotten so much attention. He told ABC 8 News, “To see that it blew up I was very surprised by it, and I wasn’t expecting it to be like that you know, I was just doing it for him and doing it for his mom and his family.”

A pro-choice organization ignited a social media debate this week with a new campaign claiming abortion is an act of love and selflessness.

The “Abortion Actually” campaign by the National Women’s Law Center is intended to “reframe” the conversation and “fight back against the assault on abortion rights in our country,” according to the campaign’s website.

“Abortion – and the people who have them – have been called a lot of things. But what is abortion actually? An act of love. An act of compassion. An act of healing. An act of selflessness,” the website states.

Graphics accompanying the campaign use a combination of those words, too.
