Berkeley Parents Say Both of Their Young Children Are Transgender

A Berkeley, Calif., couple says both of their young children are transgender and that they deserve to be treated like any other kids.

Ben and Sara Kaplan told Barcroft TV that their first child – a biological girl – said at the age of seven she wanted to be a boy. Then their second child – a biological boy – said at the age of four he wanted to be a girl. Their children’s new names are James and Olivia.

“We’re not going to allow our kids to feel shame or fear – they deserve to feel loved and accepted,’’ Sara said.

The parents acknowledge the children may change back. For now, though, they’re following their children’s lead on the subject.

“We’re going about this because we’re listening to our children and because we’re doing a lot of research,” Ben said. “And research has proven that we’re doing the right thing.”

James, the biological girl, began showing a desire to be a boy at the age of seven, Sara said. At age eight, James began a social transition. James began taking hormone blockers at age 11. That prevents breast development and a menstrual cycle.

“He is counting down the days until he can start testosterone, which would be the first time something permanent would be happening,” Sara said. “Because at that point, it would affect fertility.”

At the age of four, Olivia – the biological boy – began…

Public Awareness, Pressure Helps Persecuted Christians Win Justice in India

Public Awareness, Pressure Helps Persecuted Christians Win Justice in India

NEW DELHI, August 2, 2019 (Morning Star News) – An attorney representing Christians threatened at a wedding in northern India – with police joining in the verbal abuse and then arresting the Christians – couldn’t believe what was now happening to him.

Attorney Harjinder Singh had gone to the workplace of the Sikh leader who organized the disruption of the wedding in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan state – by 250 intruders armed with rods and sticks – to see if he could persuade him to drop charges against the Christians. The accused pastor and music team at the wedding had been falsely accused of disturbing the peace and fraudulent conversion.

The attorney showed up at the medical clinic of the Sikh leader, Dr. Gurmeet Singh, on June 29. Gurmeet Singh is chairman of the local Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), a Sikh body.

“The moment I introduced myself, Dr. Gurmeet punched me, landing several blows on my face, and asked me to ‘get out’ of the place,” attorney Singh said. “As I left, I was surrounded by Dr. Gurmeet’s men outside the clinic.”

The mob outside, members of the Hindu extremist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), surrounded the attorney and began to argue with him. Shouting to each other to throw him to the ground, some were saying, “Let’s kill him,” the attorney said.

Leading the mob was Surendra Godara, a…

Christian rapper given £2.3m after Katy Perry copied song

It was an underdog victory for rapper Marcus Gray, a relatively obscure artist once known as Flame whose five-year-old lawsuit survived constant court challenges and a trial against top-flight lawyers for Perry and the five other music-industry heavyweights who wrote her song.

The amount was less than the nearly 20 million dollars (£16.5 million) sought by lawyers for Gray and his two co-writers on the 2009 song Joyful Noise, but they said they were pleased with the decision.

“These defendants have made millions and millions of dollars from their infringement of the plaintiff’s copyright,” Gray’s lawyer Michael A Kahn told the jury.

Perry herself was hit for just over 550,000 dollars (£457,000), with Capitol Records responsible for the vast majority of the money.

Defence lawyers had argued for an award of about 360,000 dollars (£297,000) after the jury decided earlier this week that Dark Horse copied Joyful Noise.

Perry’s lawyer Christine Lepera said they planned to vigorously fight the decision.

“The writers of Dark Horse consider this a travesty of justice,” she said.

Both sides agree that Perry herself made a profit of 2.4 million dollars (£2 million), while Gray’s lawyers argued that her song had grossed about 41 million dollars (£34 million). The pop star testified at the beginning of the trial but has not been in court since.

Because the rhythmic…

22-Year-Old Seminary Student Drowns on His Honeymoon

22-Year-Old Seminary Student Drowns on His Honeymoon

A 22-year-old Seminary student drowned in the waters off Crescent Beach, Florida while he was on his honeymoon. Medics declared Dalton Cottrell dead just minutes after a lifeguard and another person at the beach pulled him out of the waters off of Crescent Beach, FL.

According to the Florida Times-Union, Dalton and his wife Cheyenne had only been married for three days. The couple ventured into the water for Cottrell’s first-ever swim in the ocean. Cheyenne told authorities that the current began pulling them farther from the shore and Dalton “started to freak out.” As his wife tried to help him back to shore, he panicked and pulled her underwater as well. He emerged from the water for a moment, then she saw his eyes roll back in his head, Faithwire reports.

A man on the beach heard Cottrell yelling and went into the water with a paddleboard. He and a lifeguard placed him on the board and brought him back to the shore. They performed CPR, but could not bring Cottrell back.

Cheyenne shared the heartbreaking news with her family and friends on Facebook. She started, “3 days of wedded bliss turned into a nightmare very quickly for the Cottrell family as well as mine own. Many of you know but more of you do not; so the family and I decided to put the awful news here on Facebook though this is not where I wish to place it or even have to say it.

“Yesterday afternoon while at the…

We’re on the edge of a new move of the Holy Spirit

Paul Harcourt, who is also the vicar at All Saints Woodford Wells, said, “In the last few weeks we’ve had people coming into our church who have had no real contact with the church for years before, woke up in the morning and felt ‘I just need to go to church’. And then they come in and the presence of God is so tangible in the service that they’re struck by something. They come forward at the end of the service and we lead them to faith.

“We baptised three people on Sunday night, it was only their first time in church two weeks ago”.

“One of the reasons I think we may be on the edge of a new move of the Holy Spirit is I hear that in many contexts up and down England”

Harcourt said that any future move of the Spirit would look different to what happened in past history because, “God rarely shows up in the same way [as before]”

He added that the popularity of recent prayer movements including 24/7 Prayer and Thy Kingdom Come could mean revival is around the corner.

“History teaches me that whenever there has been a mass move of prayer, there often comes a revival after that.

“So I believe we may be beginning to see something that looks like the turning of the tide”

Paul Harcourt was speaking ahead of New Wine’s summer festivals, which are currently being held in Peterborough

Franklin Graham Congratulates 2020 Hopeful Tulsi Gabbard on Winning Debate, Asks People to Pray for 2020 Election

Franklin Graham Congratulates 2020 Hopeful Tulsi Gabbard on Winning Debate, Asks People to Pray for 2020 Election

Evangelist Franklin Graham has praised 2020 hopeful Tulsi Gabbard for her performance in the Democratic Presidential debate that took place in Detroit on Wednesday.

Gabbard is a decorated military veteran, having been deployed to Iraq in 2004 as part of the Hawaii Army National Guard. After serving for some time as a military police officer, in 2015, Tulsi was promoted from Captain to the high rank of Major in the Hawaii Army National Guard.

Many were impressed with her performance in Wednesday’s debate, as she went toe-to-toe with popular frontrunner, Kamala Harris. Indeed, as a result of her robust and articulate approach, Gabbard was the most-googled candidate in the hours following the debate showdown.

“Congratulations Tulsi! Several news outlets are reporting that Representative Tulsi Gabbard was the winner in last night’s Democratic debate,” Graham wrote on Facebook. “I’ve met Rep. Gabbard and worked with her to help people in her state of Hawaii who were victims of devastating flooding on the island of Kauai as well as those impacted by the volcanic eruption on the Big Island of Hawaii last year.”

Graham qualified that he “may not agree with all of her positions,” – Tulsi is in favor of abortion and same-sex marriage. Despite these clear disagreements, Graham noted that Gabbard is “concerned and…
