‘My Daughter Is Dying’: Police Arrest Father for Refusing to Leave Sick Child’s Bedside

A family in Great Britain is taking legal action after police dragged a grieving father from the hospital bedside of his critically ill six-year-old daughter, who later died.

Police were acting on behalf of doctors, who had ordered the girl be taken off a ventilator and for treatments to be stopped.

The father suffered a heart attack during the encounter, but survived.

The girl, named Zainab, was born with a rare condition, Niemann-Pick Disease, that leads to loss of function of nerves, the brain and other organs. She also had contracted swine flu.

Both parents are doctors and objected to the doctors’ decision to pull her tube.

A shocking and now-viral video shows several police pulling the father, Rashid Abbasi, out of the hospital room. The video is from police body camera footage. The encounter took place in August 2019 and the girl died the next month. It became public this month due to the lawsuit.

Abbasi and his wife, Aliya, say the doctors did not give their daughter the correct treatments.

“They never listened to us,” the father told Sky News. “They would never provide explanations for their actions.”

Because of his medical background, he was able to ask “leading questions” that frustrated the doctors, he said.

After the hospital chose to remove the ventilator, Abbasi refused to leave his daughter’s bedside and also refused requests from medical…

Biden Is ‘Following the Radical Left Agenda’ That Is ‘Against God,’ Trump Says

Biden Is ‘Following the Radical Left Agenda’ That Is ‘Against God,’ Trump Says

President Trump ignited a controversy Thursday by telling a radio interviewer that Democrats are “against religion” and God, and then repeating the claim while addressing supporters later in the day.

Trump initially made the comments while talking to Fox News correspondent and longtime friend Geraldo Rivera during a radio interview Thursday morning for a Cleveland, Ohio, station.

Referencing his standing with voters in Texas and his opponent, Democrat Joe Biden, Trump said, “I’m in favor of oil and gas. I’m in favor of the Bible. I’m in favor of the Second Amendment. Right? Biden is against all of those things. He’s against oil. He’s against the Bible, essentially against religion … against the Second Amendment.”

Rivera retorted, “That may be a little harsh, him being against the Bible.”

“The people that control him totally are,” Trump responded. “It may be a little harsh for him, but he’s going to have no control.”

Asked by Rivera if he believes the theory Biden is an “empty suit” that “the Democratic operatives are filling with their own ideals,” Trump said he does.

“I do. I really do,” Trump said.

Trump repeated the theme while talking to supporters in Ohio. Biden, he said, is “following the radical left agenda” and will “take away your guns, destroy your Second Amendment – no religion, no anything, hurt the Bible, hurt God. He’s…

Christian athlete Katie Spotz to run 130 miles nonstop to bring clean water to Tanzania

Katie Spotz runs near the coast. Spotz plans to become the first person to run across the state of Maine on September 5 to support Lifewater International. | Becca Dunn

Katie Spotz pushed her mind and body to become the youngest person to row across the Atlantic Ocean for charity. That was a decade ago. And since then, she has continued to challenge herself with feats few have even attempted.

Now, with a revitalized faith in God, her next quest will come on land when she’ll run nonstop across the state of Maine to bring clean water to Tanzanian communities.

Spotz, a Christian endurance athlete, will run 130 miles to raise money for Lifewater International on Sept. 5. Run4Water is her latest challenge benefiting clean water initiatives. As donations and efforts grow, Spotz’s faith has also grown over time.

“I’ve done different challenges like swimming and rowing, and now it’s a chance to run for water,” Spotz told The Christian Post. “When God sees people having clean water, it brings a smile to His face. Providing clean water is an extension of how I believe God wants us to live.”

Spotz said she originally ran and pursued endurance challenges as a means to fight anxiety and to feel accomplished. She enjoyed pushing herself to see how much success she could bring to herself and the charity.

“I believe that we’re all created in God’s image and we all have value, we’re all loved,” she said. “Faith has been a big part of how I see clean water. “It’s an active obedience of God to share what we’ve…

Samaritan’s Purse Sends Response Team to Beirut following Massive Explosion

Samaritan’s Purse Sends Response Team to Beirut following Massive Explosion

Evangelical humanitarian aid organization Samaritan’s Purse has responded to the current crisis in Lebanon after a large-scale explosion rocked the capital city of Beirut on Tuesday.

At the time of this writing, the Beirut blast has killed over 100 people, left at least 5,000 injured and at least 300,000 people without a home.

“The country and the people are devastated,” said Samaritan’s Purse President Franklin Graham on Facebook. “Please pray for the families who lost loved ones and those who have been most impacted by this horrible incident.”

According to Samaritan’s Purse, they will be working with a Beirut based church partner in bringing relief to the Lebanese people such as offering emergency food, shelter and medical care.

The explosion comes at a time where Lebanon has been financially affected from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s just devastating. It’s completely unfathomable. We’ve never had anything like this before even in the civil war [1975-1990] in Lebanon,” the church partner said.

As Christian Headlines previously reported, this is the worst explosion the country has ever seen.

Graham mentioned that he spoke with Lebanese-born evangelist Sami Dagher, who founded Karantina Alliance Church in Lebanon. Dagher, whom Graham considers “a dear friend,” also spoke at Billy Graham’s funeral.

“I talked with Sami yesterday, and the church, its Bible…

‘God is in the miracle business’: Pastor shares testimony of rescue, redemption

Sam Collier is a pastor, speaker, writer, and host of the A Greater Story with Sam Collier TV show and radio podcast. | Courtesy of Epic Agency

Sam Collier believes that even in the bleakest of circumstances, God is writing a bigger and more beautiful story for those He loves — and has a purpose and plan for each one of His children.

“God is still in the miracle business. He wants to give you peace, to give you joy, to bring restoration, to bring healing,” Collier said. “He wants to bring blessings into your life. He can take a mess and turn it into a miracle if you let Him.”

Collier, a popular pastor, speaker, and writer who works at Andy Stanley’s North Point Ministries, speaks from personal experience.

In an interview with The Christian Post, Collier shared how he and his twin sister were born into extreme poverty in Augusta, Georgia, to a 21-year-old mother who already had three kids she struggled to feed. The children’s father was addicted to various drugs and “wasn’t really in the picture,” Collier recalled.

Due to her difficult circumstances, Collier’s mother decided to give the twins up for adoption. When the siblings were just 2 months old, a Christian couple expressed interest in adopting them.

“When they came to adopt us, the adoption lady said to them, ‘No, you don’t want them. They’re probably not going to be much because of where they come from; crack, prostitution, and all types of things,” Collier said.

“My parents said, ‘No, we want these…

‘Wakeup Call for the Church’: Half of Americans Say Good Deeds Get You to Heaven, Poll Shows

‘Wakeup Call for the Church’: Half of Americans Say Good Deeds Get You to Heaven, Poll Shows

Roughly half of Americans believe they will go to heaven if they are “generally good” or “do enough good things,” while one-third believe salvation is obtained only by accepting Jesus Christ as savior, according to a new survey.

The poll by the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University found that 48 percent of U.S. adults affirm the statement that “a person who is generally good, or does enough good things for others, will earn a place in heaven.”

One in three Americans (33 percent) say they consider themselves to be a Christian and affirm the statement that “when you die you will go to heaven only because you have confessed your sins and have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior.”

Additionally, 63 percent of adults believe “having faith matters more than which faith you have.”

The survey of 1,000 Americans was released this week.

Len Munsil, president of Arizona Christian University, said the “lack of understanding of basic Christian theology is stunning,” with “potentially devastating consequences for individual souls and really for all aspects of American life and culture.”

“It’s a wakeup call for the church, and for leaders in all areas of influence, to speak, teach and work to restore biblical truth,” Munsil said. “Many souls will be lost if people are misled by the false notion that we can earn our way to…

“Chicken Coupe” flies again: How a rusty old treasure behind chicken wire reveals our real worth

1960 Ford Falcon. By Rex Gray, CC BY-SA 2.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=12263639

A rusty, old Ford Falcon left in a shed for over thirty years was auctioned last week for over $215,000.

The 1973 coupe was “effectively Australia’s version of the Ford Mustang” and “one of just 120 high-performance models featuring a 330 hp 5.8-liter V8 that was good for a 160 mph top speed.”

However, the last time it was registered for road use—or even started—was in 1988. The car had been sitting in an open shed behind a chicken wire fence, earning it the nickname “Chicken Coupe.”

How do you determine your worth?

Over the years, my family visited my in-laws’ mountain home in central New Mexico. Each time we made the winding drive up the mountain, we passed rusty old trucks, tractors, trailers, plows, and cars abandoned in the tall grass. Each time, I thought they were eyesores, although they added character to the rustic landscape. It felt like the Old West.

Now, I am ready to go and have a second look at those old relics.

What made the “Chicken Coupe” different from other 1973 Ford Falcons?

It was the predecessor to the model used as the basis for the “Pursuit Special” featured in the classic Mad Max films.

Gordon Stubbersfield, the owner of the “Chicken Coupe,” refused to sell it because it was the car he owned when he got married. Plus, he enjoyed talking to the people who stopped to ask about it. Its value to him lay more in personal enjoyment than in financial gain. The source of its value changed when its ownership changed hands after the original owner died.

Society tries to determine our value, just as collectors tried to tell the coupe owner his car’s worth.

Our Creator does not base our worth on outward appearance (1 Samuel 16:7). Nor perfection. David defeated Goliath despite his small stature and was called “a man after [God’s] heart” (Acts…

Nearly 2 Million Jobs Were Added in the U.S. in July

Nearly 2 Million Jobs Were Added in the U.S. in July

Nearly 2 million jobs were added in the U.S. in the month of July as the country continues to grapple with COVID-19.

According to USA Today, while some parts of the country are seeing jobs being added, others are still making forced cutbacks and laying off employees because of the ongoing pandemic.

In late June many states paused or rolled back on reopening plans after seeing spikes in COVID-10 cases. With the closures, many people remained unemployed or lost their job.

However, USA Today also reported that the losses were offset by job gains in other parts of the country.

The Department of Labor also said that some 1.3 million people were taken off temporary layoff and put back to work as restaurants, gyms and other places that have been reopened. The number of Americans still on temporary layoff is about 9.2 million, the Labor Department said.

Some 592,000 jobs were added back to the leisure and hospitality industry in June, while retail added some 258,000.

Forgivable federal loans to small businesses have also helped with job gains in the country.

The Labor Department said Friday the unemployment rate fell to 10.2 percent from 11.1 percent in June.

About 22 million lost their jobs when the pandemic first forced closures across the country. In total, there are now about 13 million remaining lost jobs.

Economists are hesitant to make predictions about the future, but some said they thought there could be…
