Ottawa Senators vs Montreal Canadiens Live Stream Free: Watch Online NHL Hockey 2015 (Start Time)

Christian Post Report – It is the start of the playoffs in the National Hockey League and the Montreal Canadiens play the Ottawa Senators at the Bell Center in the first round. The match is on April 15, 2015 at 7 p.m. ET.

Montreal Canadiens’ P.K. Subban (L) congratulates his teammate Carey Price after their win against the Tampa Bay Lightning during their NHL pre-season game at the Colisee in Quebec City, October 1, 2011.

As the top team in the Atlantic Division, the Canadiens were given an automatic seat in the post-season and will now face Wild Card winners Ottawa.

The Senators were fourth in the Atlantic but beat out the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers in the final two places in the East as they, along with the Pittsburgh Penguins move on to the post-season.

In order to clinch their spot, the Senators won six of their last seven matches in the regular season. Despite losing to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa still managed to get a point after only losing via penalty shootout.

It proved to be vital as they won their place by one point over the Penguins and three over the Bruins. They are now prepared to face the best team in the Atlantic, the Canadiens.

Montreal also won their last three games to end the regular season and secured at least a point in their last five. However, if the regular season series meetings between the two are to be followed, then the Senators definitely have Montreal’s number.

The Canadiens won their first meeting this year, 4-1 at home behind goals from Brandon Prust, Brendan Gallagher, Tomas Plekanec and Alex Galchenyuk.

Ottawa led early in the game behind a short-handed goal from Erik Condra, but could not prevent Montreal’s comeback.

However, the next three meetings were owned by the Senators, who would go and beat Montreal 4-1 and 4-2 at home, before going to the Bell Center to dominate the hosts 5-2.

In that win in Montreal, it was Ottawa’s turn to make a comeback as they were down 2-0 at the end of the first period. Erik Karlsson scored twice, while Mark Stone, Marc Methot and Condra also contributed to complete the route and get the points.

This is the playoffs and the pressure is different, so it should be interesting to see how this series unfolds.

How’s Your Service?

“I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ “
— Acts 20:35

Christian Post Report – Some believers have known the Lord for years, yet they think it is all about everyone catering to them. But my question is this: When are they going to grow up and start serving other people?

Jesus said that it is more blessed to give than to receive (see Acts 20:35). In fact, a sign of spiritual growth is that you want to serve—not be served.

I will let you in on a little secret: I have found that as I give, God blesses and replenishes me. As I give, He gives to me. Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. . . . For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

If we go through life thinking, I need this or I want that, we will never quite have enough. That is why we need to learn the joy of giving and the joy of serving. The church isn’t a place where we simply have our needs met; it’s a place where we help to meet the needs of others.

The church is also a place where we discover our spiritual gifts. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4, “But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore He says: ‘When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men’ ” (verses 7–8). God wants to give you (or has given you) spiritual gifts—gifts to use for His glory.

I think we need to start saying, “How can I help? What can I do? I want to be serving the Lord in some way, shape, or form.” That is a mark of spiritual maturity.

Barcelona vs Paris Saint-Germain Live Stream: Watch UEFA Champions League Soccer Online

Christian Post Report – Paris Saint-Germain have the tall task to eliminate Barcelona as they are paired in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. The first leg will be played on April 15, 2015 at 2:45 p.m. ET at Parc des Princes in Paris.

Already familiar to each other, Barcelona and PSG were in Group F in the group stages of the competition.

Paris Saint-Germain Forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Barcelona won that group by winning five of six matches, while PSG came in second but were only two points behind the Catalans. In fact, Barcelona’s only loss in the group stages was against PSG when they met in Paris in only their second games in the competition.

David Luiz scored the match’s opener for the hosts but it was erased in only a minute after Lionel Messi leveled things. Marco Verratti restored the lead in the 26th and was doubled by Blaise Matuidi in the second half. Neymar tried to start a comeback for the La Liga squad by scoring two minutes after Matuidi’s goal but they ran out of time and PSG secured the three points.

When the two teams qualified for the knockout stages, PSG were handed the task to beat Chelsea in the round-of-16.

In what was one of the best matches in the knockout stage, the two teams drew 1-1 at the end of the first leg with Edinson Cavani cancelling Brian Ivanovic’s goal.

When they met at Stamford Bridge for the second leg, goals came in late as Chelsea scored in the 81st minute to possibly send them to the quarters, but David Luiz found the back of the net against his old club to send the match to extra time. PSG found themselves staring elimination after a penalty shot from Eden Hazard gave Chelsea the lead, but Thiago Silva, the man who conceded the penalty, lifted the team with a goal in the 114th.

That goal tied things 2-2 in the game and 3-3 on aggregate, sending PSG to the quarters due to away goals rule.

On the other side, Barcelona were handed another English club in Manchester City. They won the first leg at the Etihad 2-1 behind a brace from Luis Suarez and they wrapped things up in the second leg with a 1-0 win to win the tie 3-1 on aggregate.

Now PSG and Barcelona meet again with only one team moving on to the semis.

Christian Post Report – Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger celebrates a goal against FSV Mainz 05 during the German Bundesliga first division soccer match in Munich September 15, 2012.

On April 15, 2015 at 2:45 p.m. ET, Porto will host Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal match-up. Their match will be at Estadio Do Dragao in Portugal.

Porto qualified to the knockout stages of the competition after winning Group H. Playing alongside Shakhtar Donetsk, Athletic Club and BATE, the Portuguese club showed they were clearly better than their rivals as they were the only team not to taste defeat in the group.

And in the round-of-16, they were tasked to battle Basel, with the first leg of their tie to be played at St. Jakob-Park.

The visitors were tested early in the match, with a goal from Basel in the 11th minute in which they responded with a penalty conversion by Danilo in the 79th minute to end the game 1-1.

When the time turned for Porto to host, they showed their domination as they controlled the entire match. Yacine Brahimi scored in the 14th minute of the game and Porto went on to score three more in the second half to completely blow the tie open and eventually win 5-1 on aggregate.

Now they will face a European powerhouse who are looking to win the title again.

The 2012-13 champions Bayern Munich look to add another chapter in their illustrious European run with a sixth title.

They showed their strength early in the competition, winning Group E by winning five of a possible six matches. Their only loss was against Manchester City when their place in the knockout stages has already been assured.

Bayern continued their dominance in the round-of-16 when they faced Shakhtar.

The first leg of that round ended in a 0-0 draw which questioned whether this was going to be another lost year for Munich. They responded well by beating their opponents 7-0 in the return leg at the Allianz-Arena to book their place in the quarters.

If that performance was any indication, then Porto have their work definitely cut out for them.

Destiny Update 1.1.2 News, Details: New Patch Offers Feature That Could Help Prevent Accidental Item Deletion

Christian Post Report – Bungie announced earlier this week that the studio has already “completed” their work on the next update for their hit first-person shooter video game, “Destiny.”

As indicated in the official Bungie blog post update, Patch 1.1.2 will see the new feature that could help prevent accidental item deletion. Meanwhile, there’s also the improvement of weapons and ammo features for Crucible.

Destiny REUTERS/BUNGIE/ACTIVISION

A screen grab from the video game Destiny. Activision Blizzard Inc intends to spend 0 million developing and promoting ”Destiny,” potentially breaking industry records as it seeks to build the sci-fi role-playing videogame into its next multibillion-dollar franchise.

User Interface Engineer Daniel Hanson speaks about the item deletion issue:

“One recurring story we keep seeing involves Legendary and Exotic gear getting accidentally dismantled by errant pets and over-enthusiastic children. We decided to empower players to protect their precious gear with Item Locking,” Hanson said (via Bungie).

The Item Locking feature requires players to highlight their favorite item and then click down on the right thumb-stick to secure the item.

“It’ll be safe until you unlock it,” Hanson went on to explain.

Then there’s also the improvement for the weapon and ammo features in Crucible.

Kevin Yanes, who works as Crucible Designer, pointed out a few improvements which include:

  • Making Special Ammo “a more precious resource”
  • Putting further emphasis on the Heavy Ammo’s role
  • Limiting the high-damage weapons

“The recent update to sandbox balance was the first step. Creating a new system to manage ammo drops will enable us to adjust the Crucible experience without altering other activities in your Director. We believe that making ammo more scarce and important will provide players with more choices and more memorable encounters in Crucible,” Yanes said.

As further explained by Yanes, Special Ammos will “spawn less frequently” in Patch 1.1.2.

“…it will take longer to pick up, there will be less crates located on the map, and the bricks you find will provide you with less ammo,” he said.

Further details about the Destiny Update 1.1.2 will be provided for in the upcoming Patch Notes.

Newsboys Exclusive: Duncan Phillips Talks Stopping Poverty on Tour, Being More Excited Than Ever About Band

Newsboys (Photo: Newsboys)

(L-R) Jody Davis, Jeff Frankenstein, Duncan Phillips and Michael Tait are Newsboys.

Christian Post Report – The Christian pop rock band, Newsboys, are grateful that they can still sell out shows after forming close to three decades ago, but the foursome decided to up the ante by working to end world hunger on their current tour.

Duncan Phillips, Jody Davis, Jeff Frankenstein and Michael Tait are currently selling out shows as Newsboys on their “We Believe…God’s Not Dead” 2015 Spring Tour. However, the band is doing more than providing an entertaining worship experience for people, but they have partnered with Food For The Hungry (FH) to help put an end to poverty and the spread of HIV/AIDS in Uganda.

The Newsboys’ spring tour began last Feb. and will allow the band to stop in over 40 cities. At each show, information about FH and its child sponsorship program will be given to those in attendance.

Phillips, the band’s boisterous drummer, opened up to The Christian Post about presenting fans at his shows with the opportunity to give in the FH initiative.

“A lot of people say they want to do missionary work, they want to give but they don’t know how. But it’s just a very simple way, even if you have a buddy or a couple of buddies you can sponsor a child for $12 each a month,” Phillips explained to The Christian Post. “It’s that easy for some people, the three of you, the four of you. So everyone’s got a few bucks to put aside every day…we all have, it’s probably in our couches.”

For every child sponsored on their tour, Newsboys will provide one month’s worth of medical treatment for mothers at the New Life Clinic Uganda which aims to prevent the passing of HIV/AIDS to unborn babies. Phillips knows first hand about the importance that every coin makes in impoverished communities after visiting some of them himself.

“I’ve been in there I’ve been on the field and [seen] the difference that it makes is just mind blowing. For us a couple of bucks doesn’t really make that much difference,” the drummer told CP. “But you get that same amount of money and you take it to some of these countries, a couple of bucks is a month’s income. You might see 50 cents on the ground, yea you might have to pick it up. If they found it on the ground, it might feed their families for a week.”

Supporting the HIV/AIDS epidemic is especially important for Newsboys lead singer Michael Tait, who lost his own sister to AIDS after a history of drug abuse. For those who may not have a personal tie to the cause, Phillips insisted it is still important to help the less fortunate.

“To me that’s just Christianity 101, helping your fellow brother out. I think we all should give no matter who we are, no matter what level we’re at,” he told CP. “I think giving is one of the most fruitful things.”

Gary Edmonds, the FH CEO, expressed his gratitude for the efforts of Newsboys in a recent statement. “We are grateful to Newsboys for supporting our work to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS to unborn children,” Edmonds said in a statement obtained by The Christian Post. “With the support of Newsboys and their fans, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of children living in poverty and expand programs that prevent the transmission of HIV/AIDS to unborn babies.”

Although there are countless organizations that aid the impoverished, Phillips said FH was unique because it had a plan for an exit strategy. Instead of continuously giving aid to communities in need, the organization teaches people in impoverished places to sustain their improved living conditions themselves.

Everybody needs help at some point in their lives, according to the drummer who admitted that the Newsboys were only successful because of the help they received from others.

“So many people that are successful have had help along the way. Even Newsboys back in the day, we had help,” Phillips admitted. “Because of that, as a band we’re doing great. If you can help, you should.”

After receiving help, the Grammy nominated group has sold more than 8 million units, has six Gold records, 33 number one radio hits and numerous Dove Awards. After releasing their latest album, Hallelujah For The Cross, last fall the group shows no signs of slowing down with two Billboard award nominations.

Despite the decades that they have recorded and toured in the industry, Philipps takes none of the band’s accomplishments for granted.

“To be in it as long as we have and to kind of be riding the success level that we are, I don’t take it for granted. We’re all stoking so hard saying I can’t believe it,” he gushed. “People still want to come see us play. I’m the most excited about this band than I’ve ever been in my life.”

Although the Newsboys have experienced their share of ups and downs with numerous members coming in and out of the group since its inception, the latest huge change happened six years ago with lead singer Michael Tait joining the group.

“I think with Michael coming in, it was a massive risk. Changing lead singers as you’re on the downward kind of spiral, we had nowhere else to go in reality,” he told CP. “But saying all of that, we get to do it all again. Because of that history, I think the best is yet to come.”

During a time where people are buying records less, a live show is important. Phillips takes pride in his band’s ability to give their all on stage which is a mentality that keeps Newsboys excited for each performance.

“We just want to give you the best that we possibly can, if you come pay the $30, $40, $50 to see the Newsboys..we want to give you $100 worth. That spirit is still very much alive and well in the heart of this band for sure,” Phillips told CP. “You come, you’re going to have some church but man we’re going to spank you with some production to. We minister to you but man we’re going to give you a show where hopefully it’s one of the best you’ve ever seen.”

Samsung Galaxy S6 Shortage Forecasted

Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge YOUTUBESCREENSHOT/ Samsung Mobile

Christian Post Report – The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Smartphone users looking to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge may have a difficult time finding one available, given the popularity of Samsung’s new flagship devices.

Samsung’s new flagship phones, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have been selling like hotcakes since it officially went on sale in an estimated 20 markets Friday, making it harder for prospective customers to secure their own unit.

Pre-orders for the phone began weeks before the sale date, and while the South Korean electronics manufacturer has yet to finalize the numbers, it appears its new handsets are more popular than was initially predicted, with the demand for the new smartphones much higher than earlier planned for.

According to BGR, industry officials are saying sales have gone much higher than expected, reaching an all-time high in South Korea compared to its previous Galaxy S predecessors’ launches.

As a result of the high volume of demand, with the more expensive Galaxy S6 Edge making up 50 percent of total sales, consumers may expect stock shortages for a month or so before Samsung replenishes its supply of the units. The company is reportedly working overtime to ensure it can come up with the requisite number of parts for the Galaxy S6 Edge’s curved screens to meet with the surging demand.

The number of sales at the time of the launch aren’t available as of yet, but Samsung has mentioned having sold over 20 million units of both variations of the S6 to its telecom and carrier partners in the days following the official sale date. They are also projecting an estimated 50 million Galaxy S6 handsets may be sold within the year.

The Galaxy S6 line has been seen to be a success so far, giving Samsung the much needed boost it needs to pick up its market share in the Android smartphones arena.

‘The Age of Adeline’ Release Date Revealed

The Age of Adaline (Photo: Lionsgate Films/File)

Christian Post Report – “The Age of Adaline,” starring Blake Lively will hit theatres on April 24, 2015.

“The Age of Adaline,” also known as “Adaline”, is a romance fantasy film that stars Blake Lively, Kathy Baker, Michiel Huisman, Harrison Ford, and Ellen Burstyn. The upcoming film directed by Lee Toland Krieger and written by J. Mills Goodloe and Salvador Paskowitz will hit theaters on April 24, 2015.

“Adaline” is a story of a 29-year old woman from the 1900s who becomes ageless after a near-fatal accident one icy night. “Adaline” keeps her secret and embarks on an epic journey around the world throughout the 20th century. After decades of living and journeying alone, she meets a man whom she values more than her immortality.

Just like the film, the production took a long journey with several changes in the lead stars and director. The title role was initially offered to Katherine Heigl, but the actress withdrew from the production. The same role was offered to Natalie Portman, but the multi-awarded actress did not accept the title role. Prior to Lee Toland Krieger, Lakeshore also considered several directors.

In October 2013, Blake Lively and Emily Burstyn took on the starring roles. Lakeshore CEO Tom Rosenberg has nothing but praises for the actresses saying, “They’re extraordinarily talented and perfect for telling the beautiful and timeless tale of The Age of Adeline.”

Gary Lucchesi says Krieger, the film’s director, “is one of the most stylish young filmmakers working in Hollywood today. He is visually imaginative and possesses a strong narrative sense.”

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Co-Chairs Patrick Wachsberger and Rob Friedman said that, “We searched for the ideal director and stars. We believe that we have found them with Lee Toland Krieger, Blake Lively, and Ellen Burstyn, and together they will tell the story of “Adaline” in a way that audiences won’t forget.”

After numerous changes in production, “The Age of Adaline” will hit theatres on April 24, 2015.

Pakistani Christian Boy Set on Fire Dies From Burns Over 55% of His Body; Forgives His Muslim Attackers

Nouman Masih (Photo: British Pakistani Christian Association)

Nouman Masih died on April 15, 2015, due to burns suffered from an attack by two Mulsim men five days prior.

Christian Post Report – The 15-year-old Pakistani Christian boy who was beaten and set on fire by two Muslim men last Friday after answering truthfully if he was a Christian, died Wednesday morning due to burns inflicted during the attack.

According to prominent Pakistani human rights attorney Sardar Mushtaq Gill, the young boy, Nouman Masih, was walking on his way to a cloth stitching job when he was approached by two Muslim men.

After answering when asked by the men whether he was a Muslim or Christian, the men beat him, chased him down, doused him in kerosene and set him on fire when he told them that he was a Christian. Doctors ruled that Masih’s body was 55 percent burned.

Although doctors thought Masih might be able to survive his burns, Gill told The Christian Post on Wednesday that the hospital did not have the burn treatment facilities needed to treat the severity of Masih’s wounds.

Masih died around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

“When he was on his way, two unknown men stopped him and inquired: ‘What is your religion? Are you Christian or Muslim?’ When he said ‘I am Christian,’ they beat him and he tried to save himself. Unfortunately, they chased him and then catch him and get kerosene all on him and set on fire,” Gill explained. “This is the incident and these are all the facts. He, himself, told this to senior police officer and a number of people recorded his statement and I also heard the same words from his mouth.”

The British Pakistani Christian Association has coordinated with Masih’s family to set up a donation fund to help cover the family’s funeral costs. BPCA Chairman, Wilson Chowdhry, told CP that Nouman issued a “Christian forgiveness” to the men who perpetrated his attack before he died.

“He just said that he forgave them. That’s more like a Christian forgiveness, but he didn’t want his attackers to prevail and enact their crimes on anybody else. He was just being very magnanimous in a Christian way saying, ‘I have forgiven them but I want them to go through the justice system,'” Chowdhry said.

“You can imagine what it was like for him to have kerosene poured on him and being set alight,” Chowdhry continued. “He was very vocal in the fact that he didn’t want that to happen to anyone else, especially at the moment when Christians are under some very extreme tension.”

Because Masih’s attackers were able to flee the scene unidentified, the actual perpetrators of the attack are unknown.

Nuaman

Nuaman suffered burns covering more than 55 percent of his body.

Gill decried Pakistani media reports that suggest that Masih’s attackers included his own uncle. Gill said Pakistani media is prejudiced against Christians and often tries to falsely “twist” Christian persecution stories.

“They say that there is a dispute with his uncle from maternal side family because Nouman’s father died two or three years before and his mother got married with someone other. But now, Pakistani media is saying that it might be his uncle set him on fire, which is totally false and wrong,” Gill asserted. “Why would his uncle, who is his guardian, who look after his two children do something [this horrible]?”

Gill, whose own brother was recently shot after refusing to agree on a court settlement in another case that he’s is working on regarding two gang-raped Christian teens, said that such violence toward Christians in Pakistan is meant to intimidate, especially after tensions between the Muslim and Christian communities in Lahore have sharply risen following the church bombings and Youhanabad lynchings.

“This kind of thing is happening because they want to make us terrified,” Gill said. “Especially after this incident at Youhanabad, there has been a crackdown on Christian activists particularly. After this incident, there are a number of men arrested and now there is a common fear among the activists too.”

The Christian Post reported Tuesday that at least 111 Christian men and boys have been arrested following the lynching of two Muslim men, who are thought to have been involved in the Lahor church bombings.

Chowdhry said, however, that the total number of Christians arrested since the lynchings is more like 500.

“They are in secret locations. As far as I am aware, they have not been given legal aid or access to their families. And there are concerns that they are being tortured,” Chowdhry explained. “Some of them are actually being quite badly treated, as they are being beaten as they are being put into the police vans. Some of them are being tortured even before they are put into cells.”

Chowdhry added that police are only releasing prisoners whose families have paid a jizya (bribe) for them to be released.

“Legally prescribed officers of the law are challenging Christians to pay bribes, which they are terming jizya tax because of the killing of two Muslim men,” Chowdhry added.

Curiosity Rover Finds Liquid Water on Mars

Christian Post Report – Due to the cold weather on Mars, it is close to impossible to support liquid water, but the salts present in the soil lowers the temperature that allows brines to form. These brines give scientists significant data to support the theory that the presence of dark streaks on crater walls is secondary to flowing water.

The data recovered are the result of Curiosity’s 24-hour, year round data gathering. The team led by Javier Martin-Torres studied the atmospheric humidity and temperature on Mars. Although the international team working on the Rover Environmental Monitoring System (REMS) cannot directly analyze the liquid brines, Martin-Torres shares with BBC that the finding is still significant.

“What we see are the conditions for the formation of brines on the surface. It’s similar to when people where discovering the first exoplanets. They were not seeing the planets, but they were able to see the gravitational effects on the star,” he said. “These perchlorate salts have a property called deliquescence. They take the water vapor from the atmosphere and absorb it to produce the brines.”

The temperature of the liquid water is about -70C, which is still too cold to support presence of microbes. The brines, forming on 15cm of the Martian surface, also have the tendency for cosmic radiation exposure.
Based on the new measurements taken by Curiosity the formation of liquid brines occurs at the uppermost soil of the Martian crater at night. Then the brines would evaporate secondary to the warming of the air and ground after sunrise.

To give a better picture of the process, Martin-Torres shared a schematic diagram of the day and night water cycle occurring on the Martian surface:

Water Cycle at Martian Surface (Photo: Martin-Torres and Zorzano/File)

Schematic Diagram of Day-and-Night Water Cycle on Martian Surface

This latest development leads scientists to believe that if brines can occur at the Martian equator, which has the least favorable condition, formation of brines in areas of higher latitudes (higher humidity and lower temperature) could be more persistent.

“It’s a speculation at this point … but these observations at least support or go in this direction,” clarified Martin-Torres.
